There's no Delta lounge, so you're stuck trying to find something to eat and somewhere to sit well before our flight. The exit row seating does help, but the seats didn't recline making it a bit more uncomfortable."

Cons: "Upon deplaning in Cancun, ALL passengers are put on a bus and driven far away from the terminals to an arrivals area. Those of us with connecting flights are royally f*cked at that point, especially if your connection is short, as mine was. The so-called shuttle to the departure terminals, which are entire kilometers away, was to arrive in like half an hour. HALF AN HOUR. Who has this time to spare?? The alternative to the shuttle is paying a taxi that charges a hefty fare--and God help you if you don't have cash. The departures terminal was swamped and only thru begging assistance and line cuts did I make my connection...and then only by the skin of my teeth. It was a complete nightmare."

When we finally boarded at 5 we got peanuts in first class. That was worth the mileage upgrade. Upon landing there was a 1/2 wait on the tarmac to get a gate. That same plane, upon taking off back to DTW blew a tire upon take-off, had to do an emergency landing and everyone had to spend the night in NOLA after being delayed all day."

Also I would imagine that during Covid-19 these companies would do a better job of not overbooking flights but all of my flights with American this past weekend were overbooked. Which delayed us even longer as they searched for volunteers to adjust their flights. In today's age of technology the idea that they are still overbooking planes makes no sense to me in the slightest. I will be walking, driving or taking a boat before I fly American Airlines again."

Cons: "I always have preferred American Airlines but they seem to have constant problems with the aircraft these days. This causes delays and missed connections. This in turn causes no breakfast or lunch or dinner opportunities. I travel with snacks in my bag at all times now just in case so I won’t get sick for lack of nourishment or water! This last flight I missed my connection altogether and had to take a shuttle home, then catch a ride back to the airport to pick up my luggage and then get my car to drive home. It was 4 hours past my expected time home."

One of the kiosks was down and the line to self-check was long and moved very slowly because there was only one agent behind the self-check baggage drop. She did well keeping up but there was a long line of unhappy customers due to the long wait. No snack was offered but I did get a glass of water. Not enough overhead storage for the carry-on bags because passengers get the luggage check tag but brought the carry-on onboard anyway."

I still don't know where my bag is. The plane was supposed to land at 12:45, and I left the airport at 3:30 and missed an important work meeting."

Pros: "The flight attendants were especially nice to my 16-year-old son who has autism. He came down with a cough several hours before our flight, and they stopped by repeatedly to make sure he was comfortable. They did this with friendliness and compassion and brought him a complementary hot cup of tea with lemon. We arrived nearly 15 minutes early to boot."

One more kicker is that I travel using my TSA number and SPIRIT airlines doesn't have an agreement with the TSA for their travelers to use pre-check. Wow. i wished someone had pointed out all the extra fares and fees"

No outlets to charge my phone. My chair did not recline and was very uncomfortable. Flying to Vegas our flight was delayed for an hour because of computer issues."

Pros: "Was a 6.5 hour delay, but they changed plane assignments to reduce delay to 5.5 hours."
Cons: "Over 5 hour delay. Calling Spirit to get details was useless. The lady sitting next to me missed her 50th high school reunion, due to the delay. Sad."

I had to pay $45.00 one way for my backpack. I even paid ahead of time to save money. If you don't do this and get caught with a carry on at the gate they will charge you $100.00. Okay where do I start. I flew or at least tried to fly from Las Vegas to New Orleans with Spirit Airlines. My flight wasn't till 7:30pm. I showed up early to find out my flight had been delayed till 9:30pm. That wasn't a big deal. I left the airport to go back into the city since I had extra time. I received an email at 6:45pm saying my flight was on time so I raced to the airport to find out that they had a computer problem and my flight had been delayed till 10:30pm now. I hung around the gate from 7:10pm till 8:30pm just to see my flight being delayed more and more. I would look up to see it change from 10:30pm, 12, 12:30am. I went to talk to the front desk at 9:30pm to find out why my flight kept being delayed. She said they would know more in the next five minutes. Soon after that they came across the intercom saying that the flight had been canceled. I raced down to the check-in and talked to them about a reschedule. They said they didn't have another flight going out till tomorrow at 7:30pm. They would put me in a hotel and give me a shuttle or they would give me my money back without anything. I asked to get help with another airlines that could get me to New Orleans sooner but they wouldn't help. (Rumor has it the shuttle didn't leave till everyone was on it that was going to the hotel. There had to be 75 people in line trying to rebook a flight and get a hotel.) I ended up getting a refund for my ticket, booked with American Airlines and flew back the next day at 6:15am. Long story short I didn't save money flying with Spirit Airlines. I won't fly with them again. If I were you I would just pay the extra money and fly with another company because after baggage fees you're not saving anything. Safe travels!"

Cons: "The flight to New Orleans was delayed 3 times before they finally cancelled the flight. While it was being delayed, the Spirit website was not updating and you couldn't speak to a real person when calling the Spirit Airlines contact number. I had to stand in line for 2 hours just to get a refund after waiting all afternoon due to the delayed flight. Then I asked for a printed receipt of my refund and the people at the counter couldn't even figure out how to print off a receipt. They eventually just told me to take a picture of the screen as proof of the refund. I don't understand how an airline cant get a printed receipt to a customer??? The delay caused me to have to pay for an extra day of long term parking in New Orleans and they couldn't even cover my checked baggage on my next flight. Luckily, I just booked another flight back through American Airlines while I was waiting in line but Spirit almost made me miss that flight because I wasted 45 mins while they were trying to give me a receipt that I never got."

Pros: "My flight to Las Vegas was delayed 7 hours with no compensation. Then the flight from Vegas to New Orleans was delayed 2 hrs at 2pm then site 2 hrs at 5pm until it was finally canceled at 10pm. After I spent 3.5 hrs standing in line I was re-booked a non direct flight the next day with another airline,and they put me up in a hotel for 2hours until my next day of flying to Denver, Houston, and then new Orleans. I was originally supposed to arrive in new Orleans via a direct flight Sunday night but ended up not reaching my final destination until Tuesday afternoon."
Cons: "They charged $55 for a carryon, in which I was not notified of until I got to y airport. My flight was delayed with no compensation. The steward woke me up at midnight to ask if I wanted to purchase a coke. My return flight was delayed all day then canceled. Services were less than professional and filled with hidden fees."

Cons: "Spirit has too many hidden fees luggage fees are ridiculous, no help printing boarding pass, website is ridiculous and will not work prior to checking in for flight and if you tell them that you had problems with checking in on website they will tell you to take a screen shot of the error on the screen and bring it in for future reference, but no fee was waived for there website not functioning And I still had to pay full price for luggage. Ot the website price and even though they tell you you get to bring one piece of luggage free of no charge on the plane it's not true your bag have to be a certain size and if it's over there is an additional fee up to 100$ ... That's why it's cheap to fly spirit they don't include all extra fees . Spirit will be my last resort for flying."

Cons: "Never made it, flight got cancelled, was told the next flight available was 3 days later, and all hotels were booked. Left stranded at the airport. Takes forever to process a refund because it goes to the "refund team"."

Cons: "I waited at the airport all day for the flight to get delayed twice and then put back on schedule and then get canceled two hours before its supposed to take off. Then I had to wait in a very long line to be able to get a refund for my flight. I am very disappointed because I couldn't get a new flight because outgoing flights were $1,000+. I will not ever book with spirit again."
