When I arrived at the gate for our flight we were told Alaska had a new policy that started 6/4 (we were flying on 6/7) that only allowed a much smaller size carry-on. If suitcases didn’t fit the new smaller size rules one had to pay $25 and check it. We have three people flying round trip - that would add $150 to our total. I shopped carefully for low fares. Many people on the flight had to pay at the gate. Not cool Alaska."

Had a special captain who came out of the cockpit to speak to the passengers over the intercomm. He was funny, personable and helped get the flight off on the right foot. I have about 350,000 miles with Alaska and about twice that number on other airlines. This was the first time I ever experienced such a personable interaction from a pilot. Flight attendants can be entertaining but pilots usually are too serious to make the passengers happy to be on board."

This is my third time noticing the struggle of customers when unable to communicate a stuff not able to help with this communication and having someone else assit with this. Yes we were in First Class and it was a (groan) 6:05 AM flight which meant that we were probably on time. But Delta’s 737-900 (to Atlanta) was very comfortable, the crew did everything well and the breakfast was quite good. (Make sure you try the quiche). We had the same crew on the next leg to Miam, who were surprised and gave us a warm welcome. There were only snacks in 1st for that short segment, but they were all we wanted."

I informed jet airways about one missing bag. They have acknowledged it and the missing bag was to arrive at Ahmedabad in the next flight. I am still waiting for the missing bag."

Cons: "When I checked in online, I received boarding passes for the first two legs of the trip, but was told to see a gate agent in Amsterdam for the boarding pass for that flight. It turns out that there was a problem, attributed by one of the KLM staff that I talked with to "a communication problem between Delta and KLM." As a result, I was finally given a stand-by boarding pass. Since the flight was full, I was denied boarding. After hours of trying to figure this out, the KLM staff put me on a flight for the next day and organized a stay at an airport hotel. The KLM staff were very nice, but it seemed to take a very long time to figure this out. They also failed to note that the denial of boarding in the records, which caused a problem in my return flight. The upshot: I missed a follow-on flight to Budapest and had to pay a huge rebooking fee for that missed flight. I also missed a day of my vacation."

My carry on fit with ease. There were people with larger suitcases all around me but she continuously singled me out."

However, when we arrived at th airport at 6 am, it turned out that the rest of my group was on that flight but that my ticket was cancelled entirely, and I couldn't get on the new plane because it was oversold-- meaning that, without any warning, I was stranded at the airport in DC at 6 am with not only single available flight that would get me to Indiana in time for work. I ended up having to take a train to Baltimore to catch a flight from there to NC to connect to Indiana- but then that flight was delayed for 2 hours so I missed my connecting flight. By the time I finally arrived in Indiana I was 6 hours late to work. There was no reimbursement for the additional travel expenses, and not even an apology. Then flying back the next day, they cancelled our flight again and we had to rent a van and drive back overnight from Indiana (15 hours drive). I have never had such a miserable travel experience with any other airline."

The main issue was that when I purchased my ticket throughout Kayak YOU NEVER SPECIFIED THAT I SHOULD CHECK MY BAGS 45 MINUTES EARLY OR I WOULD LOOSE MY FLIGHT. YOUR LACK OF CLEAR INSTRUCTION SCREWED UP MY TRIP"

The big other surprise was when we got to Des Moines and realized all the bags were opened!...my wife's jewelry was stolen!!!! UNITED AIRLINES SUCK!!!!!"

Cons: "Where to start.... they "delayed" my flight for 11 hrs from 5:55pm to 0700am due to "weather" so no hotel or food vouchers would be issued. THEY ALSO SAID "don't bother going stand by for the other two flights leaving this evening as they will be overbooked or "cancelled" as well. When I walked to customer service they stated it was NOT cancelled but rather "rescheduled due to operational issues" then they put me on stand by for the next flight leaving in a couple hours. I boarded that flight only to be pulled out of my seat the last second before the gate closed saying there was an error and there were two "Fishers" and I was in one of thier seats. After closing the door and departing the gate the agent said "whoops" I guess it was a small child that was to be on the parents lap. "Sorry" as the plane left with an empty seat that I had been sitting in. After a long conversations with the supervisor they finally were able to book me on the last flight out that night arriving in DM at 12:15 in am. I had to dig my original boarding pass out of the garbage as they had refused to put me in first class... an upgrade I had paid for. After being lied to repeatedly about status of plane and bumped from flight due to incompetent gate agent I was able to finally procure a $10 food voucher (a beer is $11 at the airport. There are additional bungles including lost luggage and more to this saga but I think you get the picture."

Shortly after that announcement it was announced a gate change and further delay to 11:30. Then another delay to 12:20. finally departed."
