Cons: "Many changes and mistakes"
Pros: "having the access to a direct flight to the Philippines."
Cons: "enforcing rules and regulations too passengers. as a person of purchasing additional leg room, this should be enforced to pay for additional leg room vs just giving that additional space for free. This is the second time I experienced and this has not changed since last year."
Pros: "The crew most of all!"
Cons: "Transfer process from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 in MNL."
Pros: "The crew was helpful and patient. Toilets were always clean."
Cons: "Beer was not available. Sometimes the type of food was not available in the coach class."
Cons: "Hoping to have a flight on time and not delayed."
Cons: "4 hours late departure from jfk."
Pros: "Entertainment options were excellent. Lots of choice. Staff were friendly."
Cons: "Flight attendants need to come around more often to offer water or other beverages because dehydration is such an issue on a 16+ hour flight. In addition, we boarded on time at 1:00 for a 1:45am flight but did not leave the gate until 4:00am. This jeopardized my connection in Manila."
Pros: "crew was great/ airline was clean"
Cons: "the flight from manila to jfk. the security check was 3x. i justthought it was crazy"
Cons: "I do hope the cabin crews would smile more to let the passengers know they are happy to serve."
Pros: "The food was good"
Cons: "It’s such a shame that Philippine Airlines (PAL) charged extra for aisle and window seats! There was so much vacant seats during the flight. This was a deliberate way of PAL to extract more money from their passengers. In the future, my family and I will not choose PAL anymore. We felt cheated."
Pros: "The crew was really good and professional."
Cons: "Pls add quantity to the food. There was not enough meat to the amount of rice or pasta served. I got hungry between meals. Water was also not offered often enough between meals."
Pros: "Great seats (Premium Economy) and very friendly crew."
Cons: "A descent selection of movies, both old and new. But towards the end, I they kept stopping and I had to restart (from where I left off) a few times."
Pros: "Not much. Both flights to and from Manila were delayed. The flight out was delayed pre-boarding by about 15-min and then about 30-min in the plane on the tarmac. Leaving Manila was delayed boarding by about 1-hr and we landed about 30-min late. Philippine Airlines operation has gotten so much worse."
Cons: "Everything. From the chaos at Check-in on the Manila side from the understaffed and overwhelmed employees, to the gate control and communication with passengers at a reasonable time for the delays. Staff at MNL Terminal 2 for PA seem not to care and there seems to be no management that exists."
Pros: "great flight great service"
Cons: "Food was alright but could have been better."
Cons: "Slow checking and too much time to wait"
Pros: "Aside from the scare of not making my flight because it was overbooked. I think the boarding process could have been a little more efficient. The staff are amazing as always which is why PAL is my preferred airline when traveling to and within Philippines."
Cons: "Since I have pretty broad shoulders, it’s difficult to sleep in the isles. Not to mention the multiple babies crying. Outside of that, everything was wonderful."
Cons: "Missed the connection and had to pay to rebook"
Pros: "No direct contact details to change flight"
Cons: "Terrible customer service"
Pros: "Great service and so much leg room"
Pros: "Most ofit"
Cons: "Transfers in manill"
Cons: "The people at the boarding counter weren’t helpful and not willing to help with my questions."
Cons: "Delay boarding at jfk"
Pros: "It was like most other flights ie it was fine. Above average overall."
Cons: "A big negative was the transit lounge in Manila. Between 2 Philippine Airline flights we had an 8 hour layover in the Manila transit lounge. Not impressed at all. There were about 4/5 staff but they sat outside the lounge & did nothing to control the passengers & keep them quiet /organised. The lounge was very crowded, very noisy & there was only water to drink & nothing to eat. For 8 hours! The very least should be to supply more seating & a facility where passengers can order coffee/tea & snacks. Also there was only 1 ladies toilet, so always occupied. The lounge Definately needs an urgent upgrade in facilities then I would consider flying Phillipine Aiines again."
Pros: "The only thing I like is the straight flight of otherwise food was ok"
Pros: "food when it finally arrived"
Cons: "waiting in plane 4 hours with no updates on status"
Cons: "The flight was delayed 2+ hours, not getting in Vancouver until after 5am. Everyone on the flight, passengers and staff were extremely rude. Never taking this airline again!! Also, there was no food left by the time the served me near the end of the plane."
Pros: "I like the direct flight to Vancouver"
Cons: "I checked in early and was given a middle seat. I have back problems and walk with a cane and asked at the check in desk if I could have a window or aisle. I was told no because the flight was completely booked. I arrived three hours early and checked in online so I could get a better seat and they still said no. No one was able to help me. The flight was delayed over an hour and there was no apology. I always fly Philippine Airlines because IV always been really pleased with the service. This past flight makes me question that decision going forward."
Pros: "Everything was excellent. Extremely good service compared to North American carriers. Only thing that went wrong was we left early and landed an hour early and our gate wasn't ready yet :)"
Pros: "organized departure / arrival aircraft cleanliness pleasant staff great food & entertainment / free alcohol great leg room"
Pros: "They have the friendliest flight crew I've ever seen."
Cons: "There was too much leg room. I'm not used to that."
Cons: "It was Xiamen airlines again so bad"
Pros: "crew is very caring and attentive, food was delicious,"
Cons: "the business class seats should be upgraded into more comfortable flat beds, biz class bathrooms too cramped!"
Pros: "What? Free check-in for one bag? Free full meal?? Thank you!!!"
Pros: "Although the flight was delayed the boarding process was very smooth. Flight attendants were very friendly and efficient."
Cons: "Long check in lines even though we checked in online. Flight delay."
Pros: "Wheelchair assistance was very good"
Cons: "Entertainment equipment on board is outdated"
Pros: "The crew was really nice."
Cons: "It's a 6.5 hour international flight so I was expecting a meal to be served, not those underwelming snack box/wrap options to be available for purchase. Also, no blanquet and pillow."
Cons: "Was a good experience"
Cons: "First of all, both on my departure and return flight, despite having boarded 30 minutes ahead of schedule, we remained on the floor for an additional hour (both for taking and after landing). Next, the flight attendants did a poor job of ensuring that everyone did not get up when we landed and the seatbelt sign was on, and this led to herds of people running through the aisles and rushing to get off past those that were patiently waiting. The leg room is very limited, unless it is an empty flight. The red wine was perhaps the worst I have ever had. AND the wifi that was available for purchase was 40 USD for only 150 mb of data which is absolutely ridiculous."
Pros: "Food was excellent!"
Pros: "Good flight with excellent Serb=vice form the crew"
Cons: "Inflight entertainment US for one whole sections of the aircraft. The aircraft looked tired the table fittingwas broken ,"
Pros: "We got 2 food vouchers one at night, the other early in the morning. However the food establishment was so pricy a chocolate bar was $7 USD."
Cons: "13 hour delay, would not let us go home, would not cancel the flight, instead pushed the boarding time back one hour every hour starting at 4am. Flight was supposed to leave JFK by 11:55pm, we left at 1pm the following day. It wasn't solely due to the weather (we expected a slight delay), but in the morning, plenty of other flights were running regularly, while there were no updates. No one that cared, all the staff just told us it wasn't their fault. (Which is true to an extent), but all so mentioned that they were tired too, and they're exhausted too, which made many people angrier. They deflected a lot of statements."
Cons: "Flight was delayed by a really long time. They should have sent people to hotels or cancelled flight. Delay too long (especially for elderly and children)"
Pros: "Very friendly and helpful cabin staff. Still the most covenient flight to and from the Philippines."
Cons: "The line at JFK. There we not enough seats for passengers. Sink was clogged in one restroom and remained so even after the "technical" layover at YVR."
Cons: "There was confusion and poor organization at the check in counter. The check in started late and there was a 500 ft line up to check in at Philippine Airlines. We waited 2 hours in the plane for 4 people who were late for the flight, then the cargo handlers didn't show up. We left at 5am instead of 3am. The flight attendants didn't seem to know why we weren't leaving. Two short announcements were made in 2 hours that didn't explain properly why we sat there so long. The food was wretched. The flight attendants were pleasant but the captain and the purser's announcements were hard to understand with poor English."
