"Great service"

"Going there and coming back, I had not preordered a meal. The first time it was because I had no idea that they would not have anything additional for people to purchase onboard. The second time, I was simply busy with my family and overlooked the food order. As a diabetic, I hope this practice of “preorder only” changes."

Cons: "I found some members of staff to be a bit rude. When other passengers asked questions or did something wrong (that was a minor issue), one of the staff members in particular talked down to them and treated them like they were stupid."

Cons: "Alaska overbooking to 107% (TSA’s explanation) at security checkpoint D at SFO FROM 10-1am caused many missed flights and many disgruntled passengers due to TSA agents being incredibly in hospitable."

Cons: "I spent more than $30 on food and drink, but got my 9rders as part of the normal service, as opposed to faster than those who didn't spend any money. It was painfully slow. the angle of the seat cushion is a bit high."

Cons: "Because video playback system was inoperable (not an issue for me—I am happy to read during the flight) the young crew had to perform safety announcements manually but were obviously ill-practiced and inexperienced at this, bungling their reading and even seeming not fully to understand the words. (They also botched announcing introductions of the pilot and crew, not seeming confident who was on board or as if they in fact knew their names.) This was of course unprofessional but also introduced doubt how reliable they would be in an actual emergency."

I was in a rush when I land and because it was delayed too I did not want to also have to wait for my bag at baggage claim. I was completely late to an event I was to be at."

Cons: "1) not that alaska does any worse than others, but boarding is increasingly unpleasant. 5 grades of 'rewards' groups boards, then children, then military, then the elderly, etc. by the time people who paid full fair for their tickets board there's no overhead space left. by charging for any checked bags, the airlines are creating a very stressful and disorganized boarding experience; 2) the ambiance is just dull: cheesy music, dull, grey colors, poor lighting, etc. it just feels as if you're in a space designed by someone with no taste--and this is from the company that bought and killed virgin!? 3) the food is the same cheese plate and tapas plate i get on other airlines. 4) no special greeting upon boarding. it wouldn't take much to make the entire experience pleasant, but alaska and others don't feel the need to make the effort."

"My screen wasn’t working property, nor was the headphone jack so to hear the tv/movies. So I sat without entertainment for 10 HOURS! Also, the food was completely unacceptable. I have bought better food out of vending machines. I have flown 100’s of times and I have to say this was the WORST food I have ever had on a plane. I’m quite surprised actually. I’ve flown with Hawaiian before and probably will again inter island but NEVER again for long flights. It was all so disappointing and that’s not what I expect from them."

However, I had called the airline before our trip to request vegetarian meals. We were told that was taken care of. On the flight, we were told that the only meals on that flight were very mediocre chicken sandwiches. Thus, we had no meals."

We were each provided a $100 credit memo for future travel, but when we tried to reschedule our return trip to avoid LAX we were told the credit could only be used for new travel. Not happy about either the delay or the inability to use the $100 each credits. On top of that, we had to pay $400 rescheduling fees for the two tickets. That looks like a threefer to me. Pretty much sucks."

Plane seats were also very uncomfortable. Once plane was boarded and on way pilot came on and blamed the delay on maintenance issues and weather. Airline delay caused 2 hour delay getting our rental car. We didn't get to our lodging until midnight and should have been there by 7 pm."

Cons: "First class seats are miserably uncomfortable, barely wider than a coach seat. Only difference I Can tell is that it has more padding. Foot rest is unbelievably unfunctional. Food was good but no wine or refill of the other beverages was offered with the meal. Flight crew as polite, but wooden and unengaging. Baggage claim at destination was efficient. I only fly with this airline , and in first class, because I have sooooo many miles.. if that weren't the case I would try someone else. Who knows , maybe they would not be any better."

Pros: "The plane was held a few minutes to give us time for a quick transfer since we were late arriving. Even our luggage made it onto the plane with us. The whole Hawaiian staff and crew were so helpful getting us to our connecting flight in time. We were even offered a yummy Rum Punch drink on our flight. Hawaiian flight attendants all the friendliest and most helpful of any airline I've experienced!"

Cons: "While we were in the Hawaiian Airlines Plumeria lounge, they should've let us know that we were about to miss our flight. Especially with taking care of an 8 month of baby, sometimes you lose track of time. We missed the original flight even though we had asked the front desk agent to contact the gate to hold it for us for a few minutes. When we arrived at the gate, the ramp had already been retracted so we missed our flight. Next flight was the next day so we had to rent another rental car, another night's hotel totaling an extra $200 in Waikiki. At least they changed my flight without fees. But overall a bad experience."

Pros: "There is a port for a USB, so you can bring a device? But then, you have to prepare your entertainment in advance which is an inconvenience...."

The paid snack options were few and there we no healthier choices. You have to pay for all of films, games, and movies. No WiFi on the plane. The display had issues when I tried to turn it off - it would randomly come on. The volume for the "advertisements" were ridiculously louder. In fact, they were louder than the safety announcements from the staff! Gotta pay $25 for a checked bag."

After looking again, we were put on a much better route through Detroit. I did not have a seat on the second leg and was stressed that I could get bumped. I made the flight but was given a middle seat. Since I have clostrophobia I began to panic. My brother sacrificed his exit row seat for me. He had booked through Delta. I wondered if he got better treatment because of that"

Pros: "The last time we flew Delta, we were underwhelmed. Our flight was delayed several hours and there was nothing exceptional about it when it did finally leave. That was 5 years ago, and there's been a lot of changes. There I'd now in-flight entertainment, reasonably comfortable seats, and everything was on time."

Pros: "Although we ended up being stuck on the plane for 2 hours prior to take off due to high volume, weather and as the pilot put it, "possible military activity" the crew kept us informed every step of the way. There was one flight attendant in particular who was so full of energy and made the unfortunate circumstances not so bad. She entertained us and kept us in the loop the entire time as did the pilots. It made the 2 hours not feel so bad which was appreciated."

I took it on the plane anyway; and there was PLENTY of space in the overhead compartments. This feels like I’m being treated as a second class citizen because I was unwilling to be nickel and dimed for seat or boarding upgrades. It’s infuriating"

We were boarded onto the plane after it was nearly an hour and a half late, then waited in out cramped seats for another hour and a half as we continued to wait for the same piece of equipment. At one point a Delta employee announced over the plane's PA system that we'd be getting vouchers to compensate us for this absurd delay, but there was no explanation of how to claim those vouchers."

Cons: "The flight attendant was completely rude to me when I was getting a pacifier for my baby out of my luggage during boarding and all of the captains announcements were garbled, rapid and unable to understand."

Cons: "Due to weather patterns, we sat on the runway for 3 hours waiting to take off. There was approx. 50+ planes ahead of us. I know this because I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot on his way home. About 2 hours in, there was 30 planes left to take off, and then us. They air traffic control people were only letting off one plane per minute which is what was holding us. THEN after the 3 hours on the runway, our crew timed out and the brought us back to gate saying we were not taking off. At the gate, they informed us the flight was not 'cancelled' but 'delayed' to the following morning. I/m not sure how a 16 hour difference is considered 'delayed', but I digress. All Delta reps had NO idea the time of the new flight the following morning and told us all to just 'keep checking the app'. Now, fortunately for me I live in Brooklyn and could just go home. But what about everyone who was at LGA as a layover? I heard from multiple passengers they had to spend the night in a hotel, that Delta did not pay for. We finally got notice the new flight was scheduled for 9:30AM, which they AGAIN delayed until 11:30AM. Many people did not get the second change, and were already at LGA for the 9:30AM flight. To say Delta's handling of this was poor is an understatement. We knew when we got on that plane the crew was going to time out. Again, I was sitting next to an off-duty pilot who told me to 'get comfy, we're gonna be here awhile' the minute I sat down. Delta should have given us a fresh crew, or had a backup one prepared. I understand the weather is out of there control, and I understand you can't have a tired crew piloting an airplane, but there are other ways to have us take off remotely on schedule."

Pros: "For a short-haul flight on a small CRJ, it was the most pleasing and comfortable flight. No delays and everyone was pleasant from ground staff to flight crew."

Pros: "Wheeler chair service is available"
Cons: "Gate changed in the last minute and non-English speaking wheeler chair customer (my 89 years old mother) was left at the old gate by their wheeler chair services and no agent at the gate knew about her. Both round trip flights! This is totally NOT acceptable. She could have been lost and with no ability to help herself and miss the flights. It was lucky that she found Chinese speaking customers to help her."

Cons: "My seat was broken and when the seat in front of me reclined, it was very uncomfortable. I was just thankful it was an 1.5 hour flight and we didn't get stuck on the runway in NYC like my last two flghts."

Cons: "Couldn't get onto internet. Both my wife and I could not access internet. Might be platform thing as we have Apple devices; woman next to us seemed to have nomorobkem with PC."

Cons: "Out of all the airlines I have flown, this was quite disorganized in my opinion. The fact that I was not able to select a seat, nor did I have one assigned to me until prior to an hour before boarding, gave me a bit of anxiety. I don't think it's fair to take away this option to those that get the "cheap, standard" tickets."

Pros: "From curbside check-in to landing the plane, overall excellent service ! Very pleased to find out they offered a shuttle from checkin to the gate. I am having knee surgery soon and the walk from security to gate 34 LaGuardia would have put me over the top with pain! It was a very nice gentleman that gave me a ride to the gate and even stopped to let me use the bathroom. Thumbs up *****"
Cons: "The fact that I was charged $150 to check a small cosmetics bag is no loose change ! I would have carried it on but my hand is in a brace and I has to have extensive surgery. Then yoy get to the gate, and they repeatedly asked for volunteers to check their bags for free. I think this is a very unfair policy and try to explain it to the curbside attendant. I literally cannot carry more than five pounds in my left hand until I get bone replacement surgery. I'm also having knee surgery soon and this small additional weight would be caused me excruciating pain ! They didn't care and still charged me $150 for a bag thats no bigger than 12 inches and weighs less than ten pounds. Thats the way you treat your first class passengers? One other quick note: the sausage and egg sandwich? that was served for breakfast was absolutely horrible! Thumbs down !"

After several delays, they started boarding us at 1:00am, but the boarding process so messy and confuse, the plane couldn’t took off before 1:40 by 1 minute and they had to cancel the flight with 200 people inside the plane. An absurd! Flight was rescheduled to today at 10am and obviously took off 1h delayed because AA can't organize simple things to expedite the boarding process."

Pros: "The boarding process was great and speedy. They had us all on the plane and we were pushing back prior to the take off time because they already had us all on board. The flight was smooth, and we landed in Charlotte early. Can’t beat that!"
Cons: "The crew felt a bit standoffish and I felt like I couldn’t have asked them something if I wanted it, which, thankfully I didn’t."

Cons: "I was traveling with the exact same size suitcase I’ve probably traveled with as a carry on for at least 50 prior flights, and the boarding agent insisted it was too large. I am a very petite woman, and so when I carry a normal size bag, it can look large by comparison to my body. Further, the flight was 1/3 empty and had plenty of overhead space even once the plane was completely boarded. I am sorely offended based on the discrimination I suggested simply because I am short of stature."

I thought maybe it was because there wasn’t enough overhead space, but as we got on the plane the overhead bins were very large and extra space was left as they began to close up the bins for take off. It was extremely annoying and I felt I was given no choice."

Cons: "I didn't like that American Airlines had not staffed our flight, so we waited for 4.5 hours for a flight attendant who would be able to complete the flight crew so we could leave. They kept delaying the flight, 5 minutes at a time, for 4.5 hours. It flew out of LGA, it was a 9pm flight. The airport food sources were closed, and AA kept us until 1am-- no food, no internet, and, because LGA has terrible cell reception, no phone service. Once we got on the plane, everyone was really hungry, and the plane had no snacks. No entertainment because the TV system was broken. It was just a miserable experience. I regret trying to save $20 by booking that flight. I have had nothing but terrile experiences on American Airlines-- NEVER AGAIN."

Cons: "The kiosk had no where to enter my DoD number to get precheck. There was also no option to select military baggage. Due to the lack of options on the kiosk I had to wait in the customer service line for almost an hour. The flight was fine. Then my baggage turned out to be flying on a much later flight so it has to be shipped to me. I am very unsatisfied and disappointed with this airline."

Cons: "My flight was scheduled for 5.37pm, but came to the airport thinking that I could get an earlier flight to Chicago and I was there at 1pm, requested for standby status, did not get it because am not platinum of diamond member, asked for $75.00, of course I didn't want to pay and stayed in the airport thinking that my flight would be on time, but it was delayed and delayed and took off at last, saw O'Hare airport but it looks like the pilot could not land it because he did not get the clearance, but as a passenger, I saw the flight going around and around the Ohare area, at least 6 times, then after landing taxing took for ever. I WILL TRY NOT TO FLY IN AA AGAIN."
