Rochester airport is a gem. Excellent for a place to work and plug in away from crowds. So if you need to get some work done before flying, you will be able to do it at Rochester's airport.
jessieFlew with JetBlue-Jul 2026
Take a direct flight. Its faster and less hassle.
SarahFlew with Delta-Jun 2026
Delta had a very organized boarding process which I appreciated. The construction on the way to JFK meant my Uber had to detour through some residential areas which was annoying. I would have used the subway and AirTrain if I hadn't been traveling with my cat.
CourtneyFlew with Delta-Jul 2026
Delta, Delta, Delta. JFK has first priority to NYC's airspace, so if weather is dicey, go out of there versus LGA. Due to limited airspace, LGA is more likely to cancel flights which is outside of Delta or other airlines' control.
Verified travelerFlew with Alaska Airlines-Jun 2026
Expect to leave for JFK 3 hrs prior to flight if traveling by car from Upper West Side. You will want to arrive 1.5 H prior to departure
JeanieFlew with Alaska Airlines-Jun 2026
Bring your own food and entertainment. The buy-on-board program may require advance ordering, and it can be expensive. Also, the on-board wifi may not work.
Verified travelerFlew with Frontier-Jul 2026
If you on a budget flight frontier. Don’t bring anything other than a personal bag. Or you will get charged for everything.
kelechiFlew with United Airlines-Jul 2026
Leave enough time for connecting in Chicago. It’s a very busy airport

Arrive timely at the NY airport. Be courteous and patient. Understand the temp difference and dress in layers so you can be comfortable once you arrive.
GaryFlew with Delta-Mar 2026
Delta offers the best options and flight times for roundtrips from DTW to LGA. Book your flights early though because the seats fill up fast.
PeterFlew with Austrian Airlines-Mar 2026
Syracuse is a joy to fly from because it has such a short check in time.
CharlesFlew with Spirit Airlines-Apr 2026
Know the Spirit Airlines rules on baggage before getting to the airport. Avoid paying a fee.

Security checkin lines can be longer at certain departure times
OlgaFlew with JetBlue-May 2026
Here’s the part that confused me the most. JetBlue flies only from terminal 5. Delta (at least) arrives in terminal 4. Be aware that there is a lot of walking to get out of terminal 4, then you board the sky train, then you walk more, and finally get to terminal 5. There, surprise! You have to go through security again. At JFK, some security lines are ridiculously long and slow. It’s very annoying that transit passengers must go through that again when moving between terminals. One more thing related to terminal 5 where JetBlue flies - there is absolutely nowhere to sit and almost nothing to eat before going through security. The security lines were better organized though and it didn’t take that long.

Not much, honestly. I’d just say: get to LGA a little early so you can actually enjoy it — there’s a surprising number of great shops and restaurants, and the whole place has a good vibe. RDU is solid too, but it can get crowded (likely thanks to the growth around RTP), so occasional delays and bottlenecks do happen. Build in a little buffer time and you’ll be fine. Enjoy the trip!
KathleenFlew with American Airlines-Jan 2026
LaGuardia is the most convenient/fastest from Midtown Manhattan. If taking a taxi, check the map ahead of time to spot traffic delays — taxi drivers aren’t going to do that and you can direct them to alternate routes to avoid a traffic jam.
AmyFlew with American Airlines-Feb 2026
Use the AA app and bring your own g-free snacks. Love that most all your airplanes have the bendable headrest, saves space from packing a pillow so thanks for that!
KathleenFlew with Alaska Airlines-Feb 2026
allow plenty of time to get to the airport and through security. Take the plane train if you can. Terminal eight has good food options
ChrisFlew with Spirit Airlines-Feb 2026
Flying spirit is great. Key is flying out of Laguardia. It has its own terminal you get through quite fast.

Check your flights a few weeks before your trip and keep checking to see if times have changed, and if you need to adjust your layovers. Our flight went from 10am to 8:30am. We could have missed it.

JetBlue leaves from JFK which can be a plus or minus depending on your plans in New York. Arrive early and check out the TWA hotel—with a great public lounge, bar, and food court in the restored 1960’s Eero Saarinen-designed building outside of terminal 5. The AirTran accepts OMNY tap to pay with your phone or credit card, take it to Jamaica station to transfer to the LIRR to go to Penn Station in Manhattan or check the MTA TrainTime app for schedules and tickets for other destinations.

Just make sure you get to the airport early because you never know with traffic or what situations may happen. I always fly Delta so I can’t speak on other airlines. TSA pre check is always a plus in my book.

there was an instance where a non speaking couple didnt know when to board. people cut in front of them and the crew didnt respond. it would be nice if there were translators available to assist when needed. i get that you want people on board as quickly as possible. sometimes, it's like herding cats. but do assist the people who dont understand the language.

Book a month or more in advance to avoid paying more than going to South America. Don’t expect your checked bag quickly. They’ve been doing construction for literally years.

Flying from New York to Orlando can be smooth with a little planning. - Airport Choice: Choose from JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark based on proximity and flight availability. - Book Early: Secure better rates and seats by booking your tickets in advance, especially during peak periods. - Pack Light: Bring light, breathable clothing suitable for Orlando's warm climate, and don't forget a rain jacket for sudden showers. - Arrive Early: Aim to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight to navigate through security and reach your gate on time. - Entertainment Prep: Charge devices and download entertainment in case of in-flight system issues. Consider bringing a travel pillow and headphones for extra comfort. - Check Airline Policies: Familiarize yourself with baggage allowances and check-in procedures to avoid surprises. - Stay Hydrated: Drink water throughout your flight to combat the dry cabin air. - Navigate MCO Efficiently: Look up Orlando International Airport’s layout beforehand to facilitate an easy exit upon arrival. - Weather Readiness: Prepare for warm, humid weather with sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.

SFO is one of the most convenient and pleasant airports. When flying Alaska Air make sure to bring your food and a larger water bottle that usual (you get only two drink services (one small cup each) for a 6 hour flight.

I booked into JFK due to cost. However, I wouldn’t do it again due to all the construction in the area and the incredibly long B concourse for Delta. We were at the very last gate.
SoniaFlew with American Airlines-Aug 2024
Get to airport at le as t 3 hours early if you have a 6 am flight. With construction it is insane if you have to check in luggage and get thru tsa
Verified travelerFlew with Spirit Airlines-Apr 2024
Spirit Airlines is a good and safe, no frills airline. It offers transport for a very cheap fare rate. This is perfect for travelers who can fit all their stuff in a personal sized bag of 18x14x8. Only 1 bag is allowed. If intending to bring a luggage, keep in mind that a prepaid checked in baggage of 40 pounds ($55-60 each way) is cheaper than a prepaid carry on, and it is cheapest when bought together with the fare ticket. Keep also in mind that seats do not recline, so if that is something you need to have especially on longer flights, Spirit airlines isn't for you. So if you just need a no frill, no baggage airfare that transports you from one point to another, Spirit is a reliable, safe and affordable airline to get.

I liked the new boarding process. I thought the buyup options (legroom, early boarding) to be easy to request and reasonably priced. All the Southwest team from gate to in-flight were so nice.

Flight coming out of Buffalo was delayed, so we had to be rescheduled on another flight from Baltimore to Phoenix which means we had a long layover and got home 3.5 hours late. Shuttle to parking stopped at 10pm, so we had to pay for an Uber to the parking lot and got charged an extra day of parking since it was after midnight. Not the best experience. Long day!

We had a 5 hour delay on the tarmac in Baltimore

Airline travel is always too cramped to really be pleasant, but the cabin crew on this flight did a pretty good job of making up for it by putting on some music during boarding and sprinkling a few funny remarks into the safety briefing and announcements, and just generally being friendly and helpful. It definitely reminded me of why I prefer the in-flight experience on Southwest!

Flight was delayed due to plane not passing inspection And one of the crew had to time out and we had to wait for another one A 3 hour delay

It was one and half hour late... Not sure if any other experience matters.

It was 2 hours 45 minutes late, for no apparently clear reason.

It went well. Plane wasn't full. Will be great when assigned seating is in place

My bag was damaged and is now missing a wheel. I tried to buy a claim in on the website but it would not accept my confirmation # for submission. Other than that, everything else was good!

As always it was a pleasure to fly on southwest.

We were delayed 2 hours because of a broken seat. Other than that it was a very nice flight.

Delta was fine though my flight was delayed 4 hours into LGA and my return into ORD involved a taxi of 1+ hour to the gate

Cancelled my flight. Left me in airport for 12 hours. Rude gate attendants. Worst delta experience I’ve had. I hope they have a focus group and return to thinking about customer service.

One of the restrooms didn’t work. The ones that did never got replenished. Flight attendant just sitting there on their phone. No notification that the bathroom was broken so long lines. Apathetic crew.

Both of my flights to and from JFK experienced significant delays. Most notably, my first flight was delayed by six hours due to crew members being affected by delays on a previous flight. While I understand that disruptions can occur, Delta’s staffing and operational planning should include sufficient contingency measures to handle situations like this rather than placing the full burden of those delays on customers. Additionally, the $12 meal voucher offered as compensation was inadequate, particularly given the high cost of food and beverages at the airport. Considering the length of the delay and the substantial inconvenience caused, I believe more meaningful compensation would have been appropriate.

While it wasn't the crew's fault, it was a frustrating flight. We sat on the runway for 2+ hours. Both of the flight attendants were excellent and did a great job checking on the passengers. The pilot did keep us informed about the wait. I appreciate the crew apologizing for LaGuardia airport's backup.

It was strange that the flight attendant was so adamant about having phones turned to airplane mode that he was calling out names from networks shown and waiting until they were all gone. I've never experienced that before, and after already working through an hour+ delay, it felt tone deaf. I take dozens of flights per year and have never experienced anything similar.

Poor communication, we sat on the plane for an hour before pushing back. They were oversold and with a full plane kept looking for someone to step off for someone else to board. So after an hour wait at the gate we missed our departure window and proceeded to spend an additional hour on the tarmac waiting for a refiled flight plan according to the pilots. Occasional updates, somewhat insensitive crew to passengers needing to use the lavatory (it was 2 hrs beyond what anyone expected). Overall just poor execution...especially when the flight was listed as "arriving early" up until about 30 minutes past our departure time.

The Columbus-based WestJet crews that cover Delta commuter flights between LGA and CMH are excellent - this team included. Our flight today landed 40 minutes early, which is unheard of when flying out of LaGuardia. I've flown with the same crew in more challenging conditions, and they always rise to the occasion with helpful communication to the passengers so that we may manage expectations.

We were skipped when the snack cart passed and then the attendant said we weren’t . I am disabled and was in a row toward the back of the plane which was very difficult for me to navigate. Disabled people should not be forced to walk the plank.

The seats on this flight weren’t as comfortable as we had expected. Even leaned back these seats left us feeling crappy in our backs. Also we had to use our own tablets for movies, but nothing in the seats in front of us to hold the tablets up.

3 hour delay…. Nearly 2 hours sitting on tarmac. Do better, United. Or at least have the sense to not say “we hope you enjoyed your flight with us” upon disembarking.

Everything except the food and entertainment. It was a great experience though

Unfortunately weather delayed our flight waiting for our plane to arrive and due to a little snow time was needed to deice the plane so departure was very delayed and I missed the connecting flight

The flight attendants were unhelpful. It was a packed flight, and usually a flight attendant would help find a spot in the bin for your carry on or shift things around. Neither made any effort to do so. Also, I had to then check my bag. I was told it would be on the carousel in YYZ, but it came up on the jetway. So lucky I saw others standing around for their bags. I would have walked straight past this and on to the carousel. They could have at least told me that they had given me wrong information. Very unsatisfactory.

The staff was very friendly. The seats seemed quite small. Overall the flight was pleasant.

Delays!!! Serious delays. I was told by a member of staff in LGA that I would miss my DEN to LAX flight connection, so I was put on a later flight. Due to delays I would have been able to have made my original flight, where I was sat in business class - seat 1A: I was put on my original flight but bumped from business - 1A to economy 33C. I want a refund for paying business class but only flying economy

The plane was delayed coming in and on the tarmac. I was coming from another flight so it made for a very long day. The stewardess kept trying to slam the overhead bins closed and I was worried that she had damaged my new luggage. They ran out of snacks and lccdsddd me a hummus box which was nice. It took them a very long time to pick up the garbage so I could not go to the washroom and had little time. To prepare for disbarment. The TV system was hard to control from the armrest and picture wasn’t clear. The crew did apologize several times for the lateness. It took the Denver airport an unusually long time to de-ice the plane.

Their app did not recognize my Aeroplan frequent flyer number and would not allow me access to my boarding card. Ground staff was readily available at the airport to print it out to me.

We were already two hours delayed before take off and then had to be diverted. Terrible experience.

If the service crew didn't make difference between people and they change my seat without asking me if is okay or not with me

The entire process could’ve been better. Delayed multiple times and American lied and said it was due to Weather in New York, even though other flights were taking off the entire time (including other American Airlines flights)

There were alot of delays without any information. First, my original flight was overbooked so I volunteered to stay back. The layover was hell, I sat in the airport for 4 hours. I was highly disappointed because no one was around to provide answers.

Great. Clean. Seats comfortable. Food was free. Had new release movies.

On time departure & early arrival. Made a long day much better.

The boarding crew was very helpful with a little special problem I had. The inflight crew - so-so.

They kept us on the tarmac for 6 hours after already delaying our flight by 2 hours. No one had any answers. They sent our gate checked stroller to baggage claim instead of giving it back at the gate.

Crew and agents misguiding on tight connections, and lack of connecting crew looking for inbound planes. A very avoidable missed connection as a result.

I don’t like the music section but I believe it was a cost decision. I changed my flight last minute due to work issues and had to sit way in the back. The seats were way closer together than I would have preferred.

The flight attendant was very polite and attentive. The food was good.

Very poor help no one answering a question regarding seating. Very rude staff. They don’t care, as if it’s not part of their job. Flight was delayed for no good reason and no apologies given.

You did a great job rescheduling my cancelled flight. However, you made me pay for two seats for $118 even though the seats on the original flight were free. I think that was a very unfair thing to do.

A more comfortable seat. Padding would be really helpful but I've read the airlines don't want customers to be satisfied with economy seats.

Everything was good except checking bags . I had paid for two bags but it didn’t show so we had to do it again while people waited and we were struggling to get to our flight

Plane was delayed multiple times. I would like to request a refund. Was due to arrive Thursday evening ended up arriving Friday morning.

The security line at JFK was one of the longest I’ve ever experienced - probably 45 minutes. I don’t know if JetBlue has control over it, but it detracted from the overall experience. Entertainment had good options, but the volume control was a bit small to tap on and the screen had a fair amount of interference blips. Clearer picture would have been better.

I liked the entertainment on JetBlue, the service from JFK to JAX was terrible at best

I usually dont fly JeTBlue and I dont think I will ever do it again. The flight was delayed fee time, nobody was giving us any info at at the airport, gate changing, the slowest and poorly organized boarding ever, rude staff.. huh

The flight was delayed. I upgraded to more room. I can't imagine how small the regular seats are I haven't upgraded for my return flight yet.

Flight was cancelled, no support at JFK even though it is their main hub.. wait times on the phone was very long
