Horrible experience with booking and would never recommend or use the app again.
Lots of problems: 1) Boarding was pretty much chaos. One person at the door checking tickets and passports for 300+ people. It took more than 1 hour to board. 2) Food was mediocre to simply uneatable. 3) My seat was good because I paid an extra $100 for the choice of an aisle seat up front. (That phone call took 20 minutes to execute. Why can't you do this online?) Note: do not choose the aisle seat next to the window seat. You will lose foot space for the video box. Painful. (Fortunately, I was able to switch seats before my return flight.) 4) Literally 2 hours between the time we arrived in Los Angeles and when my bag appeared on the carousel. Others were still waiting when I left. I like the A330 for such flights. And Dublin is a reasonable transfer point for Europe if one can't get a direct flight, but it is unlikely I will book with Aer Lingus again.
Let's see. This was the first time that I used Kayak and Aer Lingus. It will be the last. I tried to pay for my luggage on the Aer Lingus website and the website didn't work. So I had to pay for my luggage at the airport, which cost me an additional $70. I landed in Frankfurt, Germany, 5 days ago. My luggage was no where to be found. I had three pieces. I contacted Aer Lingus every single day and they could care less that my luggage was missing. I contacted them on Facebook Messenger. After providing my details twice to Artificial Intelligence, a human came on and said to call instead. Now how can I call from Germany with an American phone? I told Aer Lingus this and they didn't care. I contacted Global GSRM Gmbh and was able to get a claim number. Through their tracking system, I was able to find out that my bags were never put on the same plane as me to Dublin. They ended up in London, England. I just received my three suitcases. I knew right away that they were ransacked. I had a total of six luggage belts, 2 belts per suitcase. When I received my luggage, I was down to 2 belts. Sure enough, when I looked in my suitcases, I confirmed that I had things stolen. After all, thieves had 5 days to ransack my things. And who cares? Absolutely no one. When my luggage went missing, I went to Kayak's website, which told me to go to Aer Lingus' website. I went to Aer Lingus' website and they refer me to chat on Facebook. After I chat on Facebook, they tell me call. I asked my friend in the U.S. to call and got someone who was clueless and couldn't provide any help. So, I wasted $70 when I paid for my luggage due to Aer Lingus' faulty website, I go without my luggage for 5 days, I had to spend money on necessities that were in my luggage, I get my luggage ransacked and things stolen, and at the end of the day, nobody gives a crap. Why should they? It's not their belongings. That's it. I'm finished with Kayak and Aer Lingus.

Cons: "Traveling for important business trip. Flight got canceled for “operational issues” and I Never received a notification from the airline or booking agency. I was told I couldn’t get a flight until 24-48 hours later. There were flights available through other airlines, so I asked if they could get me on one of those flights. I then sat on hold for 45 mins to be told that the airline wasn’t responding and the only thing they could do is refund me. I ended up purchasing a new round trip airfare 4 hours before departure which cost me $1000 more than what I paid for my original flights. I was experiencing a lot of anxiety and stress during this period again with no help from the agents. I expect someone to get back to me regarding this and offer some options on how to make this situation right."
Pros: "US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance in Dublin allowed me to avoid filling out a landing card and dealing with long immigration lines at JFK. Very good selection of films and TV shows via on board entertainment system. Food decent."

Cons: "My flight from the US to Dublin was delayed by 3.5 hours because the original inbound plane broke down and they sent a smaller replacement. Then they could not locate a crew."
Pros: "The crew was very helpful and has provided lots of water now and then, wich was really relieving on the long distance. The seats were quite comfortable, the food quite all right."
Cons: "The flight was delayed wich caused a lot of stress bevor, while and after it, 'cause of the connection flight, that we were afraid to miss. We've got the connection at the end, but the luggage didn't come with us, so a luggage investigation was needed. A lot of paperwork and stress, hopefully I'll at least get it back soon. Entertainment wasn't available for several hours, it was an error in the system or something. Some of the seats have had it, others have had not. It took them hours to fix it."

We will not fly Aer Lingus again if possible, which is sad because we are Irish and like the rest of the experience usually."

The flight attendants just threw it down in front of me . I found the staff rude and I could hear them making fun of passengers. Also the tables were insteady so you had to put something under it so it was level. Headphones hurt your ears. And the fact that when I booked my flights they did not mention that the flight from Dublin to Newark was a domestic flight so no free alcohol. I was very disappointed in this flight to and from"

Cons: "The staff at EWR took the wheelchair that I was in and told me that someone would be along with another one. One never arrived. I went to the desk when boarding began. I requested a wheelchair and I was told that I could walk down the ramp without assistance by one of the boarding staff. I was able to but with great pain and much energy. If it had not been for the crew of the flight I probably would never fly on Aer Lingus again."

Cons: "First of all, they were not able to locate my reservations even after I showed them the e ticket. I had to be on call with Etihad for 1 hour to figure out my reservation. I had a small 7-year-old son with me and we were at the airport from one day. Since my other flight got cancelled I ended up boarding taking Etihad. I was first in the line at the check-in counter and ended up boarding at the end with all the hassle. I requested the vegetarian food twice and confirmed it while the reservation, but still didn't get the food. My son and myself were hungry for few hours. The crew was not very supportive to accommodate any food."

Cons: "The plane was delayed by an hour, they didnt have a plane so gave us a random budget airline plane from a company noone has heard of. Wasnt a big enough plane, so requested we check our hand luggage. Got on the plane and for a 7 hour flight there was no entertainment- unless you had a fully charged phone or tablet as they had an app but no where to charge your phone or tablet. Half way though the flight, it was announced that we had gone from 4 toilets to 1.5 (????) Landed in the us and it took an extra 30 minutes for luggage to show up on the conveyor / carousel. What a joke!"

During the flight the pilot made up about 15minutes but then a Heathrow circled for 20 minutes this caused us to miss our connecting fight what are it worse is that BAnever todos we had issued our flight even though they knew but the time we landed that we could no take it through security in time . It wa very confusing trying to figure out that we had to reschedule and where and how to do it."

I had to get my boarding passes through American Airlines and then flew through British Airways. It would have been very frustrating/difficult to a new traveler. The flights themselves were very good, they were accommodating and was able to move my seat for me in JFK, the flight with British Airways was good."

Got to the counter at 10:50 (flight was delayed to 11:48) and they would not let check in. Ended up missing all my connecting flights and had to pay an additional $1600 as a result."
Cons: "Seven hours before my flight, I got an email from British Airways saying my flight was cancelled and I had been rebooked on a flight the next day. I called them immediately and was told the flight was cancelled because of inclement weather on the route. I checked the national weather advisory and saw no such weather alert. The service rep at BA told me there was "absolutely nothing" she could do, at which point I asked for a manager. I waited for almost 30 minutes, and once the manager came on I was put on a flight that same night, on a different airline. If I hadn't pushed back and demanded a more reasonable accommodation, they would have done nothing to right their wrong. For this reason I am extremely unhappy with my experience with British Airways."

Cons: "I was not able to select my seat until 24 hours before the flight without paying, which I think is ridiculous. Once I checked in 24 hours before, I was still not able to select my seat. The problem was related to me booking through a partner airline. The partner (American Airlines) couldn't help me because they couldn't access the BA seats. And BA couldn't help me on the phone to select my seat for some other reason (I can't remember). I had to wait until I got to JFK a few hours before the flight, by which time all the seats were filled and I was stuck in a middle seat. Basically, I think there needs to be better communication or coordination between BA and their partner airlines to help customers before the flight, and also it is absurd to charge $35 to choose their seat."

Cons: "The flight was being run by Iberia, not British Airways. Iberia has a policy which did not allow me to check in without proof of a return flight. Unfortunately, my travel partner had booked the return flight and did not share the details with me. I was not able to reach my travel partner and, as such, was forced to buy a new ~$2,300 return ticket on the spot in order to provide the necessary proof. This was an extreme inconvenience, as I nearly missed my flight. If Iberia or British Airways made its travelers aware of this policy in advance of their check in. I have no intention of flying Iberia ever again."

Pros: "Everything was on time. The plane was kind of full but the flight attendants really tried to reseat passengers that wanted to change their seats. To me, that's above and beyond, being in the service industry myself. The entertainment was really diverse and offered many options. The food was good and the red wine was excellent. The pilot gave us regular updates about the flight and the weather in Barcelona, our destination. The seats were roomy and comfortable. Restrooms were very clean."
