Wearing comfortable clothing is really important. ( it’s a long flight)
KishoreFlew with ITA AirwaysJFK-FCODec 2024
Be prepared for confusion. The Delta boarding pass you get is actually not usable at JFK. You have to go to the ITA desk and get a paper ticket. Again something Delta doesn’t tell you. Poorly managed partnership

Make sure to leave plenty of room for layovers

London Heathrow is absolutely disorganized. You need 2 hours between flights at a minimum.

For people flying from New York to London I would always use British Airways. The people are so nice. I would recommend getting to the airport 3 hours early as a minimum and booking well in advance. You will need to check in 24 hours in advance online or a 2-3 hours earlier than departure at the airport. There is no other option and this is a very serious policy. The flight is very easy and enjoyable though so I definitely would recommend.

Purchase one of the memory foam pillows you will not regret it. They provide one for you but it’s fairly small. Try to keep your personal item small so that you have as much room as possible for your legs.

Spend the money to get Global Entry that’s it

Look for business class separate line, it’s a little farther than the regular check in line. You may miss if not paying attention

Take later flight in evening so passengers more tir e and sleeping. Get your own food before flight.

Book directly from airline, at least will have direct communication
JulianFlew with PLAYSWF-KEFMar 2024
Have a big meal beforehand, and bring your own snacks to Stewart Airport - there's not a lot of choice once you're there. If you have a connecting flight at Reykjavik there's a great little food market in the airport where you can stock up on snacks. Refill your water bottles downstairs. And if your'e a smoker, you'll be thrilled to know there's a smoking area within the departure gates area (to the left of the elevators that go downstairs to the bathrooms).
PaulFlew with British AirwaysJFK-LGWApr 2024
Bring your own wired headphones and two pin 3.5mm adapter if you want a decent sound experience from the in flight entertainment. If you're vegetarian, there will be an option in flight - no need to order through your booking before the trip.
CynthiaFlew with IberiaJFK-LHRMay 2024
If you have a connecting flight it can be a bit confusing. Make sure you have enough time between flights. The flight to London was great. It's the airport experience, including all the security, which stresses you out.
JordanFlew with British AirwaysJFK-LHRMay 2024
Connections can take some time to figure out at LHR. They often don’t assign connecting gate till just before boarding. So be ready for that.
VaitsaFlew with British AirwaysJFK-LHRApr 2024
Be early and pay attention to gate changes.
MichaelFlew with IberiaJFK-CDGJan 2024
Make sure your toiletries are travel size. Check in for your flight extra early, and dress warmly, because Paris can be brutally cold in the winter.
leaniepenneFlew with British AirwaysJFK-LHRJan 2024
Dress appropriate for the season and be comfortable, arrive early for checking in case there are unexpected changes or delays.
CorinneFlew with SWISSJFK-ZRHDec 2023
Note that you have to pay extra for checked luggage on certain economy flights. Be at the airport 3 hours prior, security check can take time.

Travel in relaxed clothes. Don’t over-eat. Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
