Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "The crew was rude, we took off over an hour late, there was no food for sale on board"
Pros: "This was a prompt, well organized flight. In-flight entertainment on AA is always decent."
Cons: "Delayed 1.5 hours each way for maintenance, did not allow us to switch seats to sit together previously at flight and the flight was very empty. Very uncomfortable seats. Will not fly AA again"
Cons: "Was next to crying child. I do understand crying children. But I should have footed a free glass of rose."
Cons: "Most flights were delayed (3/4 legs) causing bags to not make connections. Had to wait 2 days for my bags in Paris requiring me to purchase new clothes, shoes, toiletries and then spent 4 hours waiting for them at our VRBO- finally delivered it at 4 hours 15 minutes. Also not given adjacent seats on"
Cons: "Too small of a plane for that long a flight. Cabin was too damn hot."
Cons: "Even with the delay I had a good flight and the service on board was very good"
Pros: "Seating space is like putting 5 pounds of something g in a two pound bag. Not enough space."
Pros: "Nothing. The plane was late. The WiFi didn’t work. The plane was hot in 90 degree weather and after travelling almost 19 hours I needed a little comfort."
Cons: "At least make the WiFi better."
Cons: "delayed and lost luggage! thanks"
Cons: "I have changed flights. Been delayed 5 times now. And still haven’t left the USA."
Pros: "After all the delays, made an an 8 hour trip 2 minutes early."
Cons: "Crowded planes Waiting on the Tarmac LOCATION OF THE CONNECTIONS and the gates. Construction in the Airport ( s) Philadelphia is a MESS. Overhead stowage.( Does anyone check a bag?)"
Cons: "3 hours late and I had to pay for my 1 checked bag. The price of the ticket does not include 1 checked bag??!! Seriously price gauging if ever. The airline industry as a whole is ridiculous and NOT user friendly."
Pros: "i arrived alive"
Cons: "My flight was delayed on the way to Puerto Plata on 9/9 which made me miss an entire day and I was billed for a stay at the resort. I was booked to a crappy room in MIA that I had to get changed to another hotel. THEN my departing flight from Puerto Plata back to the US was delayed 2 plus hours (as was the first flight) due to a flat tire that had to be replaced. I missed my connecting flight and had to be placed on the next flight to DCA which was the last flight. This experience was the worst. I do not have a favorable opinion of American, of which I have flown this airline for years."
Pros: "I was upgraded to business class because I had to fly home early after I suffered a crushed wrist and broken arm while in Spain. I could not have made it through the flight without the extra room and pillows and my daughter by my side."
Cons: "The stewards and Stewardesses were very unfriendly. I was in so much pain and not one person asked if there was anything they could do to make the flight more comfortable. Just the kindness of offering would’ve been so nice. One girl just threw a water bottle in my lap!"
Pros: "Flight was delayed 3hrs, no fault of the flight crew or airline but incredibly annoying. amd the person next to me reeked of onions and I couldn’t shake the smell for the entire flight."
Pros: "Wasn't full, plenty of room. Free booze offered!"
Cons: "Delayed, crew didn't help couple to calm their children and restore morale"
Cons: "The connecting flight from Raleigh to Philly was cancelled so we missed the flight to Manchester. We booked , through Kayak, with British Air and paid extra for premium economy and the actual carrier, American, doesn’t know how to process a refund and no such seats are available on our rebooked flight 24 hours later so it has been frustrating."
Pros: "Did not even have food for sale was given a cookie for 4 hour flight and food services at airport was closed so this was pathetic and miserable finally three immigration officers for 4 international flights so we waited for 2 hours"
Cons: "The whole trip was miserable..., flight attendant and pilot were the only nice thing about this trip"
Cons: "Flight from Columbus was delayed due to crew member family emergency. AA said I would miss my connection in Charlotte. The only alternate connection was too late to complete the trip. I nearly canceled the trip. I reboarded and made my connection with 10 minutes to spare. Also, my destination (Greenville) was only 90 miles from Charlotte, the connecting airport (unbeknownst to me). AA should have offered the option of driving to my destination."
Pros: "Friendly attendants, plenty of coffee. Great service."
Pros: "The flight was as advertised. Nothing particularly special other than reliable which was just fine with us."
Cons: "the fly got delayed for more than 3 hours."
Pros: "Its Alaska. Nothing more to say. My preferred airline and never had a bad flight."
Cons: "The usual. More legroom would be good. That's about it."
Cons: "You pay extra to get the TSA Full background check, so you can breeze through TSA, with PreCheck, yet this Airline has a problem with recognizing it. 3 phone calls layer and a Visit to their Costumer Serice Desk, and none of them can figure it out. Uhg again."
Cons: "Delayed. We were unable to change the flight to sit together. Staff not very helpful"
Pros: "it was fine. flight left on time and the crew was nice."
Cons: "that you have to pay $100+ for economy plus to get the legroom you used to get for a regular ticket."
Pros: "Good price, effective transportation, nothing special"
Cons: "Very full, not super comfortable"
Cons: "No wifi. No personal video. Old plane. Felt like 2005 domestic flight instead of 2017 international. I paid $135 each for 2 exit row seats, and everyone around me on the flight told me they had not paid anything and just received the seat today I won't fly AA again I don't think."
Pros: "Wide selection of movies and other entertainment."
Cons: "This was not food that was served in the Economy class. This was pure junk. I understand that airlines are saving on the service in Economy but a minimal quality should be maintained. I recommend to prepare some sandwich etc. and other snacks and to take it on the plane."
Pros: "The entertainment"
Cons: "There was nowhere to stow my purse and things i wanted to use during flight near me, my luggage got lost"
Pros: "Very nice flight. Nothing unexpected."
Pros: "Never boarded plane cause dates were wrong"
Cons: "Now me owning up to mistake costing me $500+ extra"
Pros: "BA personnel were nice on phone, but couldn't help me check in when online systems were confused by BA/AA booking. I had to check in at the AA desk at RDU. Fortunately I already had a seat assignment and allowed plenty of time."
Cons: "Difficulty checking in online."
Pros: "Actually coming home was great. Thank you"
Cons: "Going to Cancun. From Boise sucked. Are flight from Boise sucked we we're 4 to 5 hours late due to the gas contamination in Boise and we weren't informed until a hour + after from the time our flight was suppose to go out. We weren't very happy. They new the night prior, so we could have came to the airport 3 hours later and been just fine. Which also made us miss the connecting flight"
Pros: "I liked that the plane was clean, that the staff consisted of somewhat normal, more mature people, and that water and carry-ons are free."
Cons: "I felt that having to pay $50 extra for a seat when I checked in was pretty deceptive and unethical. I think most people would agree that when they purchase a boarding pass, it is assumed that it includes a seat. Having to pay extra for a seat was something I did not plan for and it was out of my budget, but I had no choice, because I had to get home somehow! I'll be going without groceries this week due to this unplanned expense."
Pros: "Flight was smooth and landing was good"
Cons: "Having to pay for luggage under the plane. I booked my flight 3 months in advance to sit with my wife and we got switched, fortunately I asked the man next to her to trade me seats. I ve flown to Managua about 7 or 8 times with American Airlines and this was my least favorite flight. People take up the space in the overhead compartments above my seat almost all the time then there is no space for mine."
Pros: "Flight was delayed and hour and they lost out baggage. Did not have clothes for 2 days"
Cons: "The counter manager at PHX, Lanell Monarrez was a total witch and whispering to Lanya in front of me was very unprofessional. I paid a full fare 1-way ticket to get out of PHX as they were not willing to allow me to fly standby or make a change to my existing ticket. Crappy airline service at the counter. Good flight crew."
Cons: "Served drink as they prepped for landing"
Pros: "Crew, food and entertainment."
Cons: "Seats are toght. Just an inch more would have made a long flight much better."
Cons: "It's getting progressively pricier with all kinds of added fees and the seats and spaces smaller. It's rediculous..."
Pros: "Nice aircraft, clean, comfortable, friendly staff"
Pros: "The air hostess gave me extra pretzels"
Pros: "Chairs were very comfy and wider than some airlines."
Cons: "Crew not overly friendly and not very attentive, and there were lots of empty seats so there wasn't much excuse. Also, I had an issue with the plane. I think no screens on a cross-country flight is not good business. Not everyone is savvy with go-go inflight. And if there are no screens, could there at least be outlets? I was so tired after my Paris flight and wanted to chill with some go-go entertainment, but my battery was low and there were no outlets. I know not all flights can have these luxuries, but if the flight is over five hours, I think it should be better equipped."
Pros: "The younger male crew staff was good Female staff poor Plane itself was poor . Seat Tray kept unlocking as latch old and faulty Connection was good although airport shuttle to gate uncomfortable due to navigate stairs with carry on"
Pros: "I missed my previous flight, and even before that my day was going pretty bad. I was quickly routed to the desk to get a replacement ticket, and even though the flight was oversold, they had me wait around until the plane was ready to take off. A couple minutes after they shut the door of the boarding bridge, I was called and told to follow one of them. It turns out a couple of people were headed to the right city in the wrong country."
Pros: "Staff was professional and friendly."
