Pros: "Of the multiple international airlines I recently flew with, I would have to say KLM was by far the best. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

Cons: "The first announcement they made to all of us in the economy section was thay they did not have any headphones for anyone but business class. I was told when I booked the seat that the headphones would be complementary. So I did not bother to bring any assuming they were going to keep their word; I figure I'd make it work and watch a movie without sound. If that isn't bad enough midway through my nine hour flight my monitor went out and would not turn back on."

Pros: "We were in an empty Plus cabin at front. Coming from Miami, the hot towel service would have been nice. I blinked and missed the service. They will quickly skip you if they can. Food weird. The boarding area was disorganized -- something I remember from flying through Norway a few years ago as well. I also didn't quite understand why I received priority boarding, as a United gold member on my outbound fight, but not on my return. So the inconsistency was a bit confusing/frustrating. But the flight overall was smooth, and the accommodations quite good."

Lady at the boarding gate tried to help and finally managed to send me and my bag in the same flight. Even bigger disappointment was that I booked a business class seat and paid three times more money then a normal economy ticket, there wasn't any business class seat and all seats were occupied in the front rows. Staff was generally rude and not willing to help."

On flight from Iceland to Portland the gate did not even start boarding until close to official departure time and plane left about 30 minutes late. Result I barely made my last connection in Portland but my luggage did not arrive because maybe customs checking took too long."

Cons: "Iceland Air has no self baggage check area. It appears that SAS has a monopoly here and handles everything, which means waiting in multiple lines even if you self check and print bag tags at the kiosk. What’s the point if you have to go the service area to check your bags?"

Flight attendants were very nice, but provided almost NO service for an 8 hour flight. Lack of cleanliness will keep me from flying this airline again."

Next thing I know, the crew is on me, asking me questions, trying to get me some help. They found a doctor on the flight and attended to me extremely calmly. They got me a nice seat where Marta checked on me for the rest of the flight, made sure I ate and drank something, got my things from my seat, and overall gave me far more attention than I could have ever asked for. Thanks, Marta! (Please give this woman a raise or a medal or something.)"

During online check-in, I swapped my aisle seat for an exit row middle seat with empty standing room in front of me (because I am tall this is important). Skeptical, I verified this twice at Stockholm ARL by checking computer and with the bagge agent. She reassured me I would have long leg room. Upon boarding, I quickly learned I had been misled: I had a middle seat with short leg room and between two passengers. A flight attendant declined to listen or help me even though better seats were available. It turned out to be my worst trans-oceanic flight among 1 to 2 dozen in my life."

Some planes are older and not as comfortable but there is no way to know ahead of time. The USB port does not charge your device and there is no electrical plug even though it is advertised. After a flight they fold the blankets and reuse the pillows....yuck!"

I almost missed my flight to Boston from Reykjavik because the gate was actually an unmarked door with a flight of stairs. I have never been on any airline with such an inferior boarding experience. Just swipe your boarding pass and wait with the other miserable looking passengers. No nice facilities to sit either. Many people just on the floor."

Cons: "The airport in Iceland is atrocious. The worst experience I have ever had in a terminal and boarding. It's hard to believe that there are so few seats at each gate and with several very large flights leaving from one small terminal and all within a few hours of each other it was extremely crowded and very hard to get to any amenities. We had to sit on the Floor!!! Then the boarding was a joke. The line was long and slow and we had to get on a bus and go out to the plane which was very awkward and slow. The bus was packed and very uncomfortable and the smell of diesel was nauseating. It seems like if they are going to accommodate so many large international flights that they would figure out that their infrastructure really needs some upgrades. Can't imagine what it would have been like if the weather had been poor which of course it often is in Iceland! Also, going to Europe, we received a couple of meals and on this flight no food was served. The food they did offer was over priced."

Pros: "The complimentary service. The wonderful passenger lounge where we waited before going to the gate was a treat! We appreciated the free salad buffet and beverages. It was a quiet oasis!"
Cons: "Crowding and standing room only in Reykjavik terminal at the gate with no seating available was very difficult. There were several gates located in one small area very close together and no way to queue up for your particular gate. People were pushing through the crowd from the back to find their gate instead of being able to form an orderly line. If you are elderly or compromised in any way, this can be very stressful and uncomfortable. Our boarding was delayed and it was a miserable experience standing for so long with people pushing past us. Riding the buses and carrying our bags up several stairs to get on the plane was not easy and we were stressed and exhausted by the experience. The seats in this plane were not as comfortable as the flight from Helsinki. The seats were small and not deep enough, and had no foot rests. So the longest part of our flight to Portland was not as comfortable. Riding the bus from our arrival gate and baggage area in Portland and on to the main terminal was difficult. After getting our checked bags though customs and piled onto a cart along with our carry on bags, we had to unload them all into the bus and ride standing up holding on to everything while the driver went a little too fast, making it very hard to stay standing. Again, this makes it very stressful and difficult for anyone who is older or compromised physically. Iceland Air is not a friend of the elderly!"

Cons: "Took shuttle buses to the plane that was parked on the tarmac. Had stairs to board at the front and rear of the plane. Great to have two access points, in theory. No clear instructions regarding who should board at which staircase. As a result, some passengers who were in the last row boarded at the front door. Might be better to give clear instructions that passengers in seats 23 and higher should board at the rear."

Cons: "Was surprised to learn that the meal and headset are not included in the economy price. Competitors charge less, feed and entertain you! Not planning on travelling on this airline anymore."

Pros: "An eight hour flight but no food provided? Only for purchase? I can't think of any overseas flight I've had that didn't provide some type of meal."

Pros: "nice flight, excellent attendant service, especially the lead attendant who provided me with a bag of ice to put on the ankle I twisted in the airport while looking for my wife who was in the enhanced security check line (never did find her) she finally showed up 45 minutes later. food was great, nice amenities, comfortable seats, good service, smooth flight, I have no complaints with Icelandair, I will fly them again"
Cons: "The aforementioned enhanced US security check on my 74 year old wife, she is not a muslim and she was not wearing a hajib) they need to use common sense (of course, being government employees they are not allowed that privilege) Here is something to keep in mind; none of this S--- would be necessary if it weren't for MUSLIMS"

Pros: "The flight, comfort, crew and entertainment was good on my flight"

Cons: "We had a 9 hour delay overnight in the Oslo Airport where there was no explanation as to why. Technical difficulties isn't a clear explanation and 9 hours of technical difficulties, which also happened to earlier Oslo flights and would happen to Copenhagen and Glasgow flights the next day, is more than a technical difficulty. It is a breakdown of a plane or several in an overbooked and maxed out fleet that is overburdened, so call it that and be clear. There was far too small compensation (a $10US meal voucher in Oslo buys you nothing and the further $20 for what amounts to a night on the floor is pretty poor) for this very significant delay as well. The airline did not apologise or offer anything for this significant inconvenience to its customers. I was actually in better shape than most because I had purposely planned a longer layover in Reykjavik, but did not get to use to see some sights, because of this. Just know that this is a risk with Icelandair before making plans."

Pros: "Wow Icelandair was great! Some friends used Wow air the day before and despite tickets being a similar price, it sounds like their flight wasn't nearly as nice. One thing I really loved was they had instructional videos about Iceland (driving safety and Icelandic culture for example) on the in flight entertainment system. They also had a really nice selection of movies including fairly new blockbusters and old classics."
Cons: "Food and snacks cost extra and weren't cheap, but it's to be expected from such an inexpensive ticket."

Pros: "The crew was very friendly and accommodating."
Cons: "The temperature on the flight to Iceland was excessively warm. I am typically a person who enjoys the warmer temperatures but most passengers were uncomfortable with the temperature. This being the only exception to our experience with our flights to Iceland and Norway."

Pros: "Getting to the airport via train was very easy. Airport was large and had a lot of accommodations. Flight was smooth and quick. Entertainment options were plentiful."
Cons: "The boarding process was somewhat confusing. We had trouble finding the bag drop and there were not many employees around to ask. Getting on the bus to get to the plane was very crowded. The headphone jack in my husband's seat did not work so we shared earbuds through my jack."

Cons: "1. The flights within the US and Canada was delayed. 2. The United Airline staff in San Francisco told me to pick up my luggage when I get to Seattle despite of the fact that my final destination was Vancouver. I questioned the staff about this ata this seemed odd, but he insisted that I pick up my luggage in Seattle. Upon arrival to Seattle I went to the baggage claim area to find out that my luggage was already put through to the connecting airline to Vancouver. This resulted in me having to go through a long line of passengers to do all of the security checks again to enter the international airport gates. This almost resulted in me missing my connecting flight to Vancouver. The only saving grace was that the flight was delayed by another hour. 3. Changes made on my connecting flights were only given to me during my check in at Auckland. My previous booking was Auckland -San Francisco - Portland - Vancouver. The boarding pass I was given in Auckland omitted Portland and was changed to Seattle. I was never informed about this by United Airlines. 4. United Airlines website NOT allowing me to log in using my e-mail."

Cons: "We left 3 hrs late, arrived very late at night, I did not get home until 2 a.m. There was no apology. There were no plugs for computers in the back of the plane and I got stuck between a fat person to my left and a fat person in front of me who leaned their seat back as far as possible. It was hideous."
