Cons: "We had purchased round trip tickets for our son to come home from college. He was able to get a ride a day earlier as he wanted to surprise us. The night before his return flight he went online to check in, and received a notification his reservation had been cancelled. We called Alaska and were told they had canceled his reservations as he failed to check in for his initial flight. Their policy reflects in the event of this happening they "may" do this, NOT shall. They wanted us to pay an additional $205 for a one way ticket. Hard lesson for my son, he just didn't think about canceling as the seats were paid for, and not understanding why the reservation would be canceled when their service was paid for. We would have thought as we paid for a service Alaska would have at least called or emailed us to check the status of the reservation. they had all of our personal contact information. Again, hard lessen for us all."

The electric outlets at each of our first class seats were not functional, both the USB ports and the electric plugs did not work so we were not able to charge our phones during the flight. When I mentioned this to the flight attendant her response was that she had not received a report that the electric was not working. No other assistance was offered. There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

Cons: "My email is not linked to my phone, so I got no warning notices of two gate changes waiting for my connecting flight home. I waited at the original gate (C39) from arrival time (2:30 pm) til boarding time (5:40 pm). When I saw no change to my destination, I checked the United App to find that the gate had been changed C33). Rushing to C33 I found another flight boarding at that location with one United Representative who could not stop to answer questions. Seeing two unoccupied Representatives at the next gate (C32), I asked if they could help me with the confusion, they said I should check with gate C33 - which I told them that she was too busy with other passengers. I searched for a Departure Board and discovered that gate C33 was still the gate, but "aircraft maintenance" had delayed the flight until after 8:20. After having to check my carry-on because of lack of space in the overheads, my departure from the airport was further delayed another 30 minutes. Upon returning home and checking my email, I found notifications of two different gate changes (C33 & C44). Announcements should have been made at both gate C39 about the changing of the gate and at C33 explaining the problem. The captain's lame excuse about air conditioning and Phoenix's hot weather was lame to say the least."

They had seats on the flight I had the booking on but wouldn't let me go just because there was less than an hour left in the flight, still in the bag check window. High price ticket, then 25$ to check a bag, they give you direct tv as a preview and then make you pay to watch TV, pay for internet, want something other then pretzels, you have to pay for that too. Next up you will charge for our air conditioners to work which by the way they didn't. I have never been so uncomfortable on a flight in my life. Couldn't even bend down to get something under my seat because of the lack of space between rows. Also the air conditioner was extremely warm and the pressure of the air did not reach the seat. I was sticking to the chair because it was so warm. It just sucks that air travel has gone the way of every other industry that values quantity over quality."

I told her we'd put the purse in the bag but for some reason she demanded we check in our carry on. And we saw two women right in front of us with "3" bags... That meant an additional 30 minutes at bag check while our ride circled the airport. The was the last of 4 flights, and it was the only time anyone made this an issue."

I had to beg the flight attendant to get me a wine because I was asleep when they came by and missed them by not even a half hour... She acted like it was so hard and it took asking 4 times and finally just asking another person. I was so annoyed. They also have shitty food selections per usual. Who chooses those snack items?! They clearly have no taste. I was miserable the whole flight. I usually am not a miserable traveler so this isn't just me being negative, I seriously may write one review every few months, only if something is really good or really bad. The fact that I'm even taking the time to write this says a lot!!!"

Cons: "The airport was horrible. Hard to get to the C concourse. "train" is TOO SMALL. It barely fits 10 in each car. International transfer of bags was Horrible, and very far apart from where you get the bags. Poorly planned or not at all planned. We barely had time to make the flight with 1 1/2 hours to transfer and would have missed our flight if it wasn't for a trolley driver who took us from security to the gate. There is no power at the seats. The plane is old and seats were very uncomfortable. Yeah, this was the worst flight."

Then we are told there are mechanical issues and it won't b long before we leave... Half hrs goes by and they tell us it will be longer so for us to exit the plane.... Which turned into a 45min wait to finally tell us that we were waiting now on a new pilot to fly in from where ever he was to finally take over our flight , which didn't leave ORD till 1230.... Which was supposed to had left ORD at 930.... We finally get to PHX at 130 a.m. When were supposed to originally land n PHX at 930 mountain time! After all of this confusion and just bad manangement of time... We didn't get any apologies any kinda of compensation for time lost... Just a have a gud day! I'm pissed will Never fly with United Airlines and will tell others to also not fly United!"

Worst day ever Now, No one can give me a refund. mind you I took a day off from work this was a last minute. The reason this trip was so important to me is because my grandma is in the ICU. I hardly ever complain about any customer service experience. Overall to get a hold of customer service is awful. Now I have to spend more money and I have to drive 12hours."

I love the pet friendliness as well as every employee through United I met today from the bdl check in crew , to especially the flight crew on flight558 iAd to phx who I believe was from Houston and their Texas roots truly shined. Every crew member was Sooo attentive professional Cleanly pleasant and always smiling and happy to come around. Other crews could learn from this crew please take notice !!! I have never been so impressed (and I am a frequent flyer )"
