Pros: "I didn’t get on this flight. Due to the departure at LAX. It would’ve been nice to know that this was a possibility before the arrival. Although the ladies at Japan Airlines were able to get me on a later flight, it almost didn’t happen. But the kept making calls to help me. I’m very thankful they were able to get me on ANA flight at 8pm."

Not a good way to represent your airline."

She was incredible and super helpful. I knew it would be a great flight just from her service at the beginning."

My 6' husband's knees were touching the seat in front of him, and the seats were super narrow. I can't remember being so cramped in my entire life. That's really my biggest complaint, but when the flight is 6 1/2 hours, being cramped gets old really quick."

Cons: "I have been flying JAL from HK to Boston numerous times and by far my favourite (over Cathay and don't even need to mention United). However this past trip gave me a new perspective. Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation."

Pros: "I loved flying JAL! I've flown several times between the US and Korea, and this was the best trip I've taken thus far! It was comfortable, the plane was awesome with high ceilings and it actually felt quite spacious. The entertainment was also perfect with tons of stuff to choose from. The best part, though, was their exemplary customer service! I needed to transport cold insulin, so at the gate counter I checked with the gate agent to see if they could refrigerate my insulin since I had a long travel time to my home destination. She promptly found out for me and talked to the flight attendants and told me they would take care of it when I got to my seat. She even checked to see if I needed a special meal or not after I finding out I was diabetic. They were so kind! They even let me refreeze my cold packs in their freezer before landing so I could keep my insulin cold after we landed. It was a huge help and they seemed genuinely concerned for my well being and what I needed. I will now fly JAL whenever I can!"

The TV screens came done from the ceiling so everyone had to watch same thing. Music channels only played a few songs over and over again. This plane needs to be retired or have major upgrades. Definitely an older plane."

Cons: "Arrived at MEX to get through thousands of people at immigration and customs. Ended up missing my connection by a meer few minutes because of the sheer volume. Aeromexico could have waited a few mins for me as they knew I had arrived from London but didn't wait for me so I was rather annoyed by this. Aeromexico even agreed with me that the airport was overly busy so I think they should have accounted for this. To top it off I found out later that the connection flight had been delayed so not impressed,I'm sure they could have got me on board."

Canada->USA->Mexico is not International???"

Cons: "Though I was in a elite preferred seat (not biz). I had about 6-7 inches from my face to the built in screen in the headrest. Hard not to notice that I couldn’t move an inch without hitting the seat in front of me or passenger next to me."

Pros: "The crew was amazing - agreeing to work extra because it was Christmas eve and they wanted us all to get to our destinations for Christmas. They were very gracious and helpful."
Cons: "We were over an hour late to leave. I understand the reason for the delay because of weather. What I was disappointed in is that the delay was not announced until our actual scheduled time to leave. It meant people coming to pick me up didn't get the change information in a timely manner."

Pros: "I liked arriving safely, although we were an hour and a half late"
Cons: "American switched pilots last minute, so all passengers sat waiting in our cramped seats for about 15 minutes while pilots got situated in the cockpit. Then it was discovered a preflight mechanical check hadn't been done. So we all sat for another HOUR waiting for the mechanics to arrive and do their work. The flight attendants were unpleasant and rude."

Pros: "Smooth ride and free wine"

Cons: "Crew didn't walk around to offer wanter/drinks except during meal time and it would have been nice if they did."

Pros: "I arrived at my destination at least! Good crew and decent food but that’s the least I can expect from an 8 hour flight."
Cons: "Very old plane. Had the screens every 4-5 aisles. No control over the entertainment. Very uncomfortable seats, but so are almost every other airlines. The worst part about this flight was that I traveled with my girlfriend and when I went to check in, 24 hours before, there were only single seats left and there were so many open seats together that were considered “preferred” and had to pay $80 for just one “preferred” seat just so we can sit together on an 8 hour long flight. The seat didn’t even have any extra legroom or anything, it was a normal seat. American Airlines is just trying to squeeze money out of anything they can."

Pros: "All I want is clear communication- not strung along. Reasonably comfortable seat - without person next to me too large for seat. Don't gate check my bag then I find plenty of space above my seat. Stop giving people food and drink on short flights as it is unnecessary and it constrains use of the bathroom"
Cons: "The scene of returning bags at the gate of arrival is awkward and other passengers take advantage - blocking walkway etc. please change system and adt a baggage handler to drop bags in a line along one side of the gateway while passengers wait along other side of the gateway"

Cons: "Not having a TV available is reflective of the poor rating for entertainment. Better organization with boarding- calling groups 1-6 within a 3 minute span makes for unnecessary commotion that could easily be avoided"

Cons: "It really wasn't "On-Time", but you couldn't tell that from the monitors. (I'm sure you like to keep your statistics "clean", but they shouldn't be dishonest.) A TSA? agent had us initially wait in a long incorrect line after we picked up our passport scanner sheets even though we told her we had a tight connection. Afterwards, she moved us along with a few others. That line could have swamped us!"

Pros: "Updated interior. Comfortable chairs. Friendly staff. Pilot communicated well."
Cons: "No charging capabilities for devices. Limited food options."

Cons: "Didn't have the wheelchairs for my elderly family members and then gave us attitude when we asked for them."

Pros: "Flying on American Airlines like many other airlines is a frustrating experience. The added charges for baggage and seat choice are insulting when you are used to flying on southwest. It should all be covered when buying a flight. The people lining up at the door to get on the plane spill out in to the hallways and block traffic trying to get by. Southwest airlines has a number system to get on the plane and therefor avoids the crowding the entrance to get on before all the overhead space is taken. I really think american could learn a lot from Southwest airlines. I will when possible avoid this airline if there is a flight with southwest."

Cons: "I fell asleep and missed if they offered water or anything. And I missed if they did a safety preflight. When I purchased the tickets online it never told me that there would be a charge for my bag. The plane was half empty. People payed for there seats when it wasn't necessary there was plenty of room on the plane"

Cons: "The new controls built into the armrests are HORRIBLE! You accidentally hit a button constantly because ITS AN ARM REST! Get the engineers building something to cover it up. We landed early and I was so excited to get a jump home. I then waited for 35 mins for my bags to appear on the conveyor AFTER walking all the way to the baggage claim from the gate. I arrived home later than I expected.....This is not the first time that the United baggage was so slow. This needs to be an improvement area."

Pros: "Food has gotten much better than maybe 10 years ago? Decent quantity and taste. Food is heated."
Cons: "Boarding took longer than usual but they did announce that the gate we were assigned was not setup for that plane."

Cons: "4 different flight delays in chicago"

Pros: "The crew on the flight were very friendly, very attentive and always smiling. They took great care of the passengers and in particular a woman with a crying baby. It didn't bother me at all, but I know the parents were concerned and the flight attendants were so kind and helpful. The food was truly fantastic, and served hot and with a smile. They repeatedly asked us about water, as the cabin was dry. I would give the crew an A+!"
Cons: "My husband and I have not flown for several years and have always enjoyed past flights. However, it seems as if the seats have much less leg room than years ago. I am only 5 foot 4 inches, and was very uncomfortable. My husband is 6 feet tall and he was miserable. Sleeping on this 9 hour flight would have been helpful, but due to the cramped seating, it was pretty much impossible. The little pillow and blanket did help with some back support, but I guess making more money per flight is more important than comfort."

Cons: "Upon approach we were suddenly deverted to Seattle. I had a few issues. Number one you could not hear the pilot so that made it worse. The lack of communication was horrible. I have been on flights when there has been clarity given a change in plans but this was bad. We sat at the gate for an hour and a half, again no real communication, the fligh attendant t hope was joking when he said there was a half a bottle left for the whole plane...much later we were served water. Announcements were made but no clarity. We were told to collect baggage at number 2. Get a voucher for a hotel. After deplann9ng about 25 of us stood in line at the customer service desk where there were two staff working slowly. Then after an hour they announced we were in the wrong place, couldn't that have been explained earlier? Once we made our way out of the terminal to the ticket count the line was all the way down the hall. still with little info we waited. We landed at the alternate airport at 945, at 130am I had my vouchers, the food not useful until the following day, the hotels were full, no one picked up the phone for the shuttle bus to the hotels. I finally elected to sleep at the airport on a bench. We had actually all been reassigned a flight on our same plane. So I am not sure why we had to wait in line all that time. Our bags were not removed from the plane an irritated baggage claim attendant told me. It was a mess. The flight the next morning was fine, short, without problems for me. united needs to work on its communications. It would have been helpful to have someone out side running the line giving out info. And at customer service they should have been paying attention to their line. Would have been helpful."

Pros: "By downloading the free united app you have access to a decent library of movies and tv shows to watch on your personal devices over wifi. This made the flight seem much faster."

The reschedule somehow caused me to lose my window seat even though I was on the same exact flight. This overbooked flight ended up being full of all kinds of grumpy and upset passengers (rightfully so). Uncomfortable seats just made it that much worse. Poor job overall"

Pros: "The flight crew and flight was perfectly smooth and crew was very nice and appologetic about the delay etc. even gave me a separate snack due to food allergy."
Cons: "Delays are never fun and unfortunately our flight was delayed, but more importantly the pre-boarding staff and crew were rediculously rude. They yelled at one lady bc she didn't speak English. They were stressed I am sure with delays and working the gate that has like 5 flights leaving at once, but they could be a bit better at their job by being polite to us the customers! They were so frazzled bc of what was going on that they acted like it was our fault, which of course it isn't! Additionally, our flight was overbooked by 6 people! And had standby of 4 and the staff kept announcing they were going to kick 6 people off and we wouldn't know until we were boarding and it was going to be by whoever paid the lowest price per ticket which btw is not the policy. The United policy says that it goes by class of ticket, which probably goes hand in hand, but hey really need to get thier staff on board with the policies. It makes you feel pretty crappy sitting there waiting to see if just bc you bought your ticket on a Tuesday at a good rate that you are not going to make it home to see your family! And the people making the announcements could be a bit more chipper also, we the customers didn't overbook the flight and we surely do not want to miss said flight so don't announce over PA system in threatening way bc United is trying to make more money by overbooking flights! This might never be read, but I hope that kayak can pass along this information to the Dullus United team to try and make the flights more enjoyable in the future"

My carry-on fit into their overhead compartment just fine. - No food was offered during the 6 hours flight. - Chairs in coach are uncomfortable for long flights (same as some other airlines I've flown with). Feet or head rest could be nice additions that don't require much additional space per passenger."
