Cons: "Delta Flight #1661 I paid for 1st class. My first flight was late so I arrived at the gate after boarding began. When the gate attendant scanned my ticket another printed. When he handed me the ticket my seat had changed to seat 25E. I told the attendant that I had paid for first class. He asked me to step aside while he contacted his supervisor, Joe. Then I had to wait until ENTIRE flight had boarded which defeated part of the reason I paid for the upgrade. This was on top of the fact I was so thirsty because 1st flight didn't have drink service and because it was late I had to book it to the connection arriving sweaty, hot and needing to use the bathroom. I was told they had given my seat away to someone as a free upgrade. Joe offered me a $100 voucher to take other seat which was less than I paid for 1st class, plus the seat was a middle seat in the rear of the plane. When I told him as much, he tried to manipulate me by telling me that they would have to kick someone out of my seat. When I declined the downgrade, they made me stand by while they kicked someone out of my seat which was embarrassing and humiliating. Then, when they handed me a new boarding pass, it was not the seat I had paid for and selected, instead it was in the first row, which I’ve always hated because there is no under seat storage and I cannot keep my backpack with me. When I pay for first class, it is primarily so that I can board first and so that I have extra room to work (which I need access to my bag to do). While I was trying to take out the minimum of the things I needed from my bag and figure out how to manage without it, 3 times a flight attendant told me they had to take my bag (since I was the last person to board they tried to prevent me from using the bathroom and they were anxious to leave early). I tried to explain that Delta had prevented me from boarding earlier and that they gave away the seat I paid for which was NOT the first row."

Pros: "The customer service phone number was impossible to get through on in order to take to someone within 24 hours of my flight in order to make my Special Meals request as I have Celiac's Disease. I was unable to make this selection at booking as when you book through a third party like Expedia, which I did, you cannot access the same internal tools required to make that selection. You can ONLY then call once you have checked in before the flight in order to let the airline know of your Special Meal needs. This is not only a terrible policy as it undercuts those who ARE ultimately still buying tickets to their airline, and that the airline is CHOOSING to sell. It provided me with an extremely subpar experience of the airline but left up to the last minute with doubts about my ability to board a 13 he international flight without the reassurance that I would have ANY meals aboard and no other options should that be the case. Right before my flight departed I was reassured that the information we had requested Expedia relay to the airline internally the day before, who we called when we couldn't get through to the airline, WAS able to convey this Special Meal request and I was going to have food on the flight, so I then did not purchase a bunch of snacks in the airport to have as options. The first meal in, no Special Meal was provided and I had to explain then entire situation all over again. They assured me they would figure it out and get me taken care of. However, no one who assisted me conveyed this to anyone else on the flight and every time food was dispersed, same situation. This was stressful and exhausting and the options provided me were modified to be gluten free, such as an entire plate of fruit for my snack, instead of the protein heavy snack everyone else received, because there truly wasn't extra for that type of dietary restriction. This was stressful and I was very hungry on the flight. One of the attendants got me a few chunks of cheese from first class, but otherwise, it wasn't great. I would advise travelers with Special Meal requests NOT to fly with AirCanada."

Their phone line was flooded with so many calls that you couldn't even stay on hold. And their email service takes at least 24hrs before you get a response. Pros: "Really enoyed the personal entertainment system. 12 hours is a long flight and the entertainment really helped pass the time away. It was fun seeing the flight status on the monitor and watching movies. We were fed very well. I believe we had 3 meals and a snack. Attendants came by to see if we needed more to drink too."
Cons: "It was a huge plane with about 500 people on board. Not a lot of space for getting up an walking much. Not a lot of space between seat rows. I guess that's just the way things are. Had a huge issue with checked baggage [see below] but don't know which airline was at fault although the AIr Canada employee who checked our baggage in Washington, DC said we wouldn't see our bags again until we arrived at Hirochima, our final destination."
Pros: "The beef and rice meal was really delicious and there were some good movies available for viewing. I enjoyed the cup noodles given during the flight."
Cons: "The USB port only worked for a few seconds at a time so my mobile phone would not charge in either my screen nor my neighbor's screen. Luckily I had my laptop to plug my phone into. During lift off I found someone's used headphones and a candy wrapper along with my neighbor's magazine's in my seat pocket."

Cons: "Boarding at the Toronto airport was an absolute mess. One of the "gentlemen" scanning tickets was moderately rude to people waiting to board. Which I mean, I get it, it's a rough job, but dude. I don't wanna be here any more than you do. Stow the attitude and scan the ticket. The food was eh, but that's all airline food. There isn't much space between seats so you're bumping elbows most of the ride, and during a 13 hour flight, that gets old real quick."

Cons: "The seats are quote awful if you are tall, like myself. I'm 6'3" and 4 hours into my 13 hour flight, I was regretting my decision not to pay the extra $100 for a seat with more leg room. My back hurt for 2-3 days after the flight, and I got up to move around every 3 hours or so."
Pros: "I had upgraded to economy plus for my trip from Toronto and asked for an aisle seat. The plane was full so I was asked to wait till I was called. When they called me back they gave me a free upgrade to first class. I am a gold status United passenger so that may have had something to do with it but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The crew was wonderful, the food was excellent and the entertainment was terrific. I totally appreciated the ability to sleep over the 13 hour trip in the bed provided. Pros: "The crew was amazing. I have never been able to hold a conversation with a flight attendant before, but the staff was friendly and kind. I also love the entertainment, like the games. They had some decent games and it was fun to compete with other people on the plane."
Cons: "I didn't like the food too much, though. The quality was unpalatable: wilted salad, mystery meat sandwich, and cold eggs. Blegh. Also, I felt very cramped in economy. I rode other airlines that give slightly more leg room and on a 14 hour flight a little goes a long way. This one was just uncomfortable."
