Pre-boarding seemed tom happen at the same time as Business Class - I thought the idea was to allow people who needed extra time to board without interference from other boarding types, but I guess that's how they do it at LAX.
The good: we liked fast boarding, the departure and arrival on-time. The not-so-good: The crew should learn from their sister-company Swiss with whom we took the flight to the US. Austrian onboard personnel need to smile more and provide a better service. Food was okay, there was the usual issue with “no more chicken” by the time they reach row X 😕. We did not understand why the crew collected trash so randomly and inadequately. We missed the free internet for messaging which was privided by Swiss as well. Hope this feedback helps.
They should be kind to the people Food is always plain pasta bread is from the fridge they don't even warm up Seat is so uncomfortable body hurts

This is truly the worst travel experience of my life. The UK ETA program had a technical failure, and I was stuck in limbo for 24 hours, unable to board my flight and unable to navigate anything in my itinerary. I had to rebook an entirely new flight and I’m now out doubled the money. Unconscionable.
OK, would prefer some meat for dinner, not just pasta although was tasty. There was only one dish, no choices
Flight delayed with no explanation. Boarding was confused (proceed to plane, go back to waiting area).
It was a great experience. The aircraft is a bit dated but other than that it was great.
Last few years I didn't not have great experience with United Airlines.
I bought the ticket a month before my flight but checked in couple hours before my flight and had to wait seat assignment just before take off. On top of that there was not enough room in the overhead bin for my luggage.
Checking in and crew were great. Seats in front of you in economy recline so much that you can't get out of your seat. I guess thats why its economy....
Flight was on time. Could have been a little more comfortable. Baby cried all night.
The chicken on the flight Boston to Zurich wasn’t very good. It was bland passable. Too much sugar in the Cole slaw. Cabbage is an amazing veg and can be much more crisp and alive. Flight attendants were Wonderful! Seats were a bit beat up but okay. In economy it was tight when the person in front learned back the screen became too close.
On time and my bag made it. My parents on British Air had their bag held/lost at LHR, so Swiss definitely won that contest.
Wonderful, i asked at front gate to change my seat up closer and they gave me a row with no one in it. Very kind of them as the flight was on the light side.
Great crew, great food, horrible aircraft seat spacing for a 9 hr flight.
The food could have been better but everything else was superb.
Terrible airline both Swiss and Lufthansa that are part of the same corp. stay away if you can
The flight attendants are amazing. The plane itself was not in good shape for passenger comfort. A good share of seat reclines were broken so they went back an unlimited amount, which meant the person in front of me was fully in my lap (the crew helped me find another seat but that would not have been possible on a full flight). Moisture from the ventilation was also dripping on me. And the entertainment system is almost impossible to hear.
3hr delay and then missed connecting flight with another 6hr wait at the airport before getting a continuation to my trip, worst trip ever in my 50+years of flight travel
Even though the incoming flight was delayed by 20 minutes they managed to get us to SFO 15 minutes early.

First class ticket gets you no seat back entertainment? I have to bring my own laptop to see a movie? And most of their movies have ADS? No thank you. Worse: Tiny snacks only on a 2 hr flight?
We purchase first class seats for the first time for multiples of standard economy ticket. There was no access to the club lounge and no priority boarding. The meal and the service once on the plane were superior and the seat was nicer, but not worth the price difference. I will be happy to seat in economy and spend the difference on more travel.
I upgraded my seat and was promised it would be next to the emergency door for extra leg room and they said it was premium plus but it was at the back of the plane...same thing happened from Newark to Dubai
Check-in, boarding and the flight from Phoenix to Houston was quick and easy. The flight from Houston to Shreveport was delayed 5 hours. It was frustrating but I think United handled it the best they could.
After boarding the plane in Chicago, the passengers were told that there was a technical problem with the plane. Passengers remained on the plane as they tried to fix the problem. After what was probably an hour passengers were told that there was a need to change planes as the problem was not solved. Passengers disembarked and boarded another plane. After taxing to the runway and waiting for takeoff, passengers were told that owing to the thunderstorm the flight was unable to take off but would try and reroute. After some time passengers were told there wasn't enough fuel for the new route and the plane had to return to the gate for additional fuel. after another log delay the flight got underway. On the plane there was food, drinks, ice or entertainment. We were a glass of water, which appeared rationed. Flight arrived about 5 hours late. The pilot was fantastic and communicated with the passengers throughout the ordeal.
The woman gate agent in Phoenix was none too sympathetic about my check-in process as I am relatively new with using apps. I almost did not get on because she said I did not check-in. I thought I had via Kayak where I purchased a very expensive ticket. Lesson learned but to be told I may not get on as a matter of factly was difficult to hear.
We were delayed 3x and because I didn’t purchase my tickets directly from United Airlines I was told I Have to take care of it myself so I called Underpricer and they helped me but before I changed my flights I took the risk of sticking by what my tickets were and was lucky to have gotten on the original all flight with only 15 mins before take off. not sure if I will do this again
Awful, rude staff. Their abrasive comments are unnecessary. Most seek a frictionless experience and will cooperate if you ask. Additional childish bullying of customers is not acceptable or tolerated. We had the same problem with our departure flight. We will never fly United again.
They left a little late, contributing to our missed flight.
Great. Only issue…the cabin was kept as warm as a sauna.
United did a good job of communicating before the flight, but a simple notice about the expected time for the completion of repairs to the broken navigation services (which closed the airport for the day) would’ve helped to clarify our expectations. With so many cancelled flights on the 21st of September, a little certainty about our own departure would’ve helped. Because of the disruption, the plane was quite empty, and at 6‘5“ I was able to steal a little extra legroom from the empty adjacent seat. However, I am still waiting for the day when I can sit in a standard economy seat and simply straighten my legs. Cabin crew were amazing. Great attitude, and moments of fun with passengers.
Lufthansa was great. Crew on board excellent. Frankfort passport control horrible it took about two hours to get through. After waiting in line for hours there was a discussion with the passenger in front of me that was taking forever. The couple behind me had a connecting flight to Turkey in 30 minutes and asked border control officer of her situation and the control officer told the couple in a nasty tone if you don’t like it you can go to another line which would have surely made her miss the flight. Border patrol officers were not helpful. Finally made it through I had to exit and reentry for security check for my connecting flight which Lufthansa changed gates and I had to run to get to A60. Which it seemed 2 kilometers to get to but I made it. If i fid not have 2.5 hrs layover i would have missed my connecting flight to Milan. Not sure if I will fly through Frankfort in the future.
TV wasn’t working, flight attendants never came when turning on the light, luggage was delayed and when delivered it was broken. No suitcase for the rest of our 2 week trip with no response when claimed filed
Lost our luggage, now two days and four $30 each taxi trips to airport and long lines in taxi queue because Lufthansa didn’t get it right, by not recognizing new delays between flights caused byEU new lengthy crossing requirements for non EU travelers, so luggage lost because traditionally methodical and orderly Germans not paying attention.
There was no entertainment or food service (short flight). The flight was delayed more than an hour.
Seating was average for a first class seat. It very modern. I expected better.
The flight was delayed and I would have missed my connection so I had to be rerouted on a much earlier flight.
I had to rebook my flight or I should say I tried to rebook my flight and all I got was a complete run around. The response to my first call/request was "call back on the day of your flight". My second call/request was more positive and I was told that yes flights/seats were available for the dates I requested but to call back the next day as the price for the flight would drop. I called back the next day and was then told there were no seats available for any of the dates I was requesting which covered a period of all of April, all of May and all of September. I knew then I was getting a run around. I called my CC company and submitted a request to stop payment. They have done so. I will never, never book through KAYAK again and will never fly with Lufthansa. Finally, I am a seasoned traveler and have lived and worked overseas for most of my life. Never had such poor service.
