Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Everything was generally great I don’t have any complaints."
Cons: "Well it’s nothing you can change I was pleased that the flight took 8 hours instead of 9 but because we were early it was a bit inconvenient that Heathrow had us do a “hard” arrival I think that’s what it was called so instead of a gate we got off on the tarmac."
Cons: "American Airlines lost our luggage and both flights were late, wife her cell phone and credit cards due to running in airport to catch our flight to Lisbon. Not impressed."
Pros: "Short connection times"
Cons: "Being on time because of short connection time"
Pros: "Friendly crew and relatively new entertainment system"
Cons: "- Seats are very tight - Pay for luggage even on a transatlantic flight and your seat (if you want to choose) - Food was below average - even for airline standards, ran out of drink options even for dinner (the second time they serve drinks)"
Pros: "Crew was very nice, and helpful."
Cons: "I remember you used to get to choose from some seats even if you didn't pay extra. Since the smaller airlines started charging to choose, now the big ones are doing it as well. I checked in for two tickets at the same time, but my wife and i were still separated. Frustrating"
Cons: "Well organized loading, consistent beverage service"
Pros: "great trip and crew"
Cons: "Es on flight 5799 which was delayed over four hours and finally cancelled. Delay without explanation but did not appear to be weather related. Cancelled because no crew available. Put on another flight that was to leave st 10:45, but delayed due to weight restrictions without luggage."
Pros: "On time and convenient"
Pros: "Not much here. The seats were ok, but the rest of the flight the airline was just poor."
Cons: "The airline is so outdated and behind the times of their competitors, their in that they don't have in flight entertainment unless you download their app and give them your email address. On top of that when I originally booked my flights, I had made sure to have 1.5 hr for a layover between my connecting flights. Well, they decided to move up my connector such that I had 25 minutes to run across 2 terminals. They only give you pretzels on the plane, and a single soda drink. They offer you "food bundles" but why do I want to pay $8 for a sandwich that costs $1 to make."
Pros: "Totally fine"
Cons: "It was fine"
Cons: "There was delay, as one of the steward was not there. There were 2 connecting flights for me, and was totally stressed about my connections."

Cons: "No movie. I got "spoiled" on flight from Seattle to Phoenix with a movie perk. Was looking forward to another on the 2nd leg of our trip. I thought maybe it was an "American" thing. ... but apparently just got lucky on first leg."
Pros: "Good entertainment"
Cons: "Bad organization during boarding"
Pros: "On time departure"
Cons: "Why do not they serve FREE water????"
Cons: "Watched a very weird interaction between Muslim (with a hajib) women with a kiddo and desk crew. She wanted to sit next to her child on the flight and needed to switch seats to be able to. Woman was very gracious and understanding that she was asking for an accommodation. Ends up her flight to Philly had been moved to a different gate after they had found a volunteer to switch seats. Volunteer was totally unfazed but Desk crew made it seem as tho the Muslim mom was at fault for the time and trouble they had had to go through to accommodate her. She apologized profusely and was very appreciative for the trouble evernote had gone to for her. . As she walked away the crew looked at each other and shook their heads. Pretty crummy way to treat customers!"
Pros: "No hassle"
Cons: "I wasn't allowed to check in online and couldn't find out the reason for that"
Pros: "The crew was awesome. We were early arriving. More leg room this flight and I loved the in-flight entertainment games. Also charged area was good for phones. Didn't like having to pay for Wi-Fi onboard."
Cons: "The crew was awesome. We were early arriving. More leg room this flight and I loved the in-flight entertainment games. Also charged area was good for phones. Didn't like having to pay for Wi-Fi onboard."
Cons: "Flight was changed. Didn't get the seats I had already picked out. Woman on flight was very rude to me when I asked where the restroom was. NOT a good experience over all."
Pros: "Great crew!"
Pros: "santa ana airport"
Cons: "charged me ＄50 when i checked in my suitcase."
Pros: "Seats were new."
Cons: "A lot less leg room than Southwest. Very cramped. Boarding crew in PHX was very uptight and stressed. Not sure why as everything seemed in order."
Cons: "The seats are terrible. On the first leg I couldn't use the back of the seat. Four hours hunched over in a tiny space is not fun."
Pros: "Crew was nice including those helping with boarding. Smooth ride."
Cons: "Limited snack options."
Pros: "The crew was wonderful. Our flight was delayed 3 hours and they did their best to keep all the passengers comfortable and happy."
Cons: "There was no food or entertainment to rate"
Cons: "3 gate changes 2+ hours delayed leaving PHX"
Pros: "More available leg room on aisle seat."
Cons: "The lady at the ticket counter was very rude and not helpful at all. Never flown American before. We're told to get our seats at the counter. She was very unhelpful!!"

Pros: "Boarding was efficient."

Pros: "Crew seemed nice."
Cons: "Ground crew were unfriendly and disorganized. Aircraft was old and cramped."
Pros: "Good electronic pass. Quick and easy. Crew was very nice and helpful"
Cons: "The delay in boarding trying to switch people around!! No food except to high price purchase."
Cons: "We didn't make the connection because of American's incompetence on our previous flt. of Hermosillo to Phoenix."
Pros: "Being number one on the upgrade list at boarding, I appreciated being upgraded to first class as an Executive Platinum member."
Cons: "The pilot provided no departure or arrival information; he simply said cabin crew take your places for take off, and on arrival, he simply said the aircraft was one hundred miles from landing in twenty minutes with no other details enroute."
Cons: "I am a platinum member. My bag was 5 lbs over weight. I had to take items out of the suitcase and put them in my carry-on!! They weighed my suitcase and even make me take 1 lb out because the scale was 51 lbs, instead of 50! Furthermore, the flight was half empty. Then I had one extra package that I wanted to check. I was told to take it as a carry-on. I told them I thought it was too large. They disagreed. In any event, I took the package to security and was told it was too large! I am really disappointed in the service and am hoping this is not because American Airlines is now running US airways."
Pros: "Flight landed early"
Cons: "Found that seats that were booked together with family kept getting moved. Even when going back and checking the original seats were changed - so again changed so that family could sit together and once again the seats we booked to sit together were changed. Its a long uncomfortable flight, so having family next to you makes it much more bearable."
Pros: "Flight operated on time and safely"
Cons: "First class flight attendant did not recognize me by name or as an Executive Platinum member; aircraft window screen next to seat 1A was inoperative; pilots provided minimal communications and were very uninformative."
Pros: "The operations once my husband and I arrived to Phoenix Airport were absolutely horrible and caused us to miss our connecting flight home to San Diego. Our luggage took a long time to come out, then we had to stay in a 45 minute line to get through Customs, even though we didn't have anything to claim. After that, we then had to stay in another hour and a half line to get through TSA. The whole time, we kept trying to explain to the different airport staff that we had a connecting flight that we needed to catch, however nothing was being done by any of the parties to ensure that we would make it to our connecting flight. All parties (Customs, TSA, & American Airlines) just kept trying to pass the blame to each other instead of helping us and were rude on top of that. The delays were out of our control causing us to not only miss our flight, but also caused us to have to spend more money to stay at a hotel in Phoenix since the next flight available was not until the morning. This situation has also caused both my husband and me to miss work, causing us to miss out on today's wages. This entire situation has been the worst airport experience we've ever had, and we've traveled all over the world. We usually fly with American Airlines, and would hate to have to go with another airline, but we would have to if this situation is not rectified, and if we are not compensated for all of the additional costs imposed on us."

Pros: "Flight late due to discovery of radio not working just before flight departure. My seats had less room than seate in front of me and it would not recline leaving me an unacceptable amount of space."
Cons: "It got to Hawaii and my bags also made it. Since flight was late I could not get my rental car costing me more money."
Cons: "We travel to Kauai every year with 3 little kids and every year the crew runs out of food. On a 7 hour flight, there should be food or snacks available for purchase of you are past the first 5 rows"
Pros: "The flight operated safely and the flying time was shorter than normal."
Cons: "Delayed departure from PHX by more than one hour; no beverages provided to first class passengers after boarding and inspite of delayed departure; first class flight attendant did not recognize that I had preordered my meal entree nor did he ever call me by name as an Elite Platinum member. The aircraft leather seat back 1F was torn leather, showing signs of poor maintenance of the interior cabin. No electric outlets at seat for recharging portable electronic devices."
