Cons: "12:05 am flight back to Lax is good because you can sleep a little then be awake for a good period of time before and after landing which helps promote getting back to normal sooner. Flight got a little chilly whole is was sleeping but otherwise a very good flight."

Cons: "The main issue was getting off the plane in Sydney - we had to wait for a bus to offload us as the plane was sitting a long distance from the terminal. The bus eventually came, offloaded half the passengers and then returned 20 minutes later to start to offload the rest. It's the longest time I've ever spend disembarking from a plane and clearing an airport - very poor whoever was responsible (I'm assuming Sydney airport was at fault)."

Very short time to get from arrival gate to the connecting gate at Haneda."

Pros: "I've flown with ANA before and they never fail to impress. Service is impecable, staff are nice and the new boeings are awesome. Seats can be a bit cramped but we were in economy and it's a 9 hour flight so some discomfort is expected. The 3 meals served are complimentary and very much appreciated. The entertainment system is an easy to use touch screen with great options from Hollywood and other movie sources."

Cons: "I bought my ticket on kayak because on the search filter, it said 1 carry-on bag and 1 check-in bag but after the e-ticket was issued it said that it was a no luggage and no meal ticket. I had to pay excess in baggage fees ($100 AUD for 1 check in bag) and during the flight, all you get is coffee, tea or water. You have to pay for meals or soft drinks. I think if I bought on air New Zealand website, I would’ve gotten a better idea of all the fare types and pay a little bit more to get the proper amenities."

Pros: "We fly a lot and have flown American, European, Asian airlines but this has to be the best experienxe ever. First, their checkin is all automated, even baggage. That makes the lines really short. Their staff standing by to help at every moment. When we used another airline in Australia Jetstar, we waited in line for one hour and then were scolded for being late! We even had to pay for our water and the staff took turn scolding us over our overhead bin stuff. Boarding of NZ airline was so comfortable, without pushing or crowds. Staff always welcoming you with a smile. Seats are wide and we were given free drinks, free headohones, and wait for it.... free dinner! And all served so politey and in the most gracious manner as if we were their guests. We were so taken back by their service and this was the aecond time we have flown with them in 10 days. My young daughter thought may be their staff gets paid more so they seem to be so much more happy. I also think that there is something when you dehumanize your customers by charging them for water and being uncaring to their needs. The staff also starts to treat the customers as cattle. Besides Southwest Airlines, I havent come across one another airline where the staff treat their custmoers with reapect while charging them for water. So airlines, take note. I would pay $50 per ticket extra just to be in NZ airline."

While I understand kayak refer users to search airlines baggage fees it need to make sure that airlines offer true and baggage fees at the time of purchase so the full cost of flight is clear at purchase time."

Pros: "We flew Air Canada’s Economy Plus from Vancouver to Sydney and Air New Zealand’s Economy Plus from Auckland back to Vancouver. NZ’s Economy Plus product is far and above AC’s. Everything from the welcome, to the meal, to the level of service is great. I really felt that NZ treated the Econ Plus cabin as distinct from Economy (including having 2 dedicated washrooms), whereas on AC it felt like we were merely Economy with better seats. I compare NZ and AC because we were so genuinely impressed with what we purchased. We would definitely book NZ Econ Plus again, and the January seat sale is a great time to do so!"

For flying cattle class on a 15 hour flight, I arrived reasonably rested and content."

I would not pay for that "privilege" again and I'm sorry to see that ANZ has stooped to the level of its American counterparts."

On a good note: the chief CSA at PHX was an outstanding individual who made all passengers feel welcome on his airline as they waited to board the aircraft bound for Honolulu. Pros: "Boeing 777 had an upgrade on the video display software, making for a more manageable video experience. It's easier to navigate because of the ability to close screens and go back to the screen you were on, rather than having to start over each time."
Cons: "I received a polite e-mail and a text message an hour or two later indicating that my flight from Taipei to HongKong had been delayed. It took a login to the Cathay Pacific web site to figure out that with the rescheduled time, I would miss my connecting flight from HongKong to Boston if I didn't change anything. I managed to sort it out, though it took using my cell phone to place an international call to the HongKong Cathay Pacific office to get me on an earlier flight. I don't think this is an acceptable level of service -- had I not had WiFi access or an international capable cell phone, I would have been stranded in Taipei or HongKong an extra day. I think CP could have done more to notify and help remediate the situation knowing the implication of the rescheduled flight. Food also remains mediocre, though slightly better."

Pros: "I traveled economy coming home and was delighted by the amenities that you never see on commercial airlines anymore. On the way to New York I upgraded to premium economy, This was such a nice experience. It was worth the up charge. And two free checked bags? That is unheard of anymore"
Cons: "When I was on the upgraded ticket, I was actually disappointed that we landed early because I was sleeping so well."

Cons: "A good half the plane was first class and business class. (This was a 15 hour Hong King to Boston flight.) They handed out a fancy menu with 4 entrees but by the time they got to economy only pasta was left. We did at least get a small bottle of water; on our outgoing flight they doled it out in meager glasses. When boarding in Hong Kong we had to go through an additional security check between the gate and the plane (that was a first...) and had our water bottles confiscated. So we were reliant on what they would give us on the plane. Seats were tight, unlike some airlines that give you a little extra room. Wouldn't fly again unless their price was a real bargain."

Cons: "The quality of the screens (crappy slow resistive touchscreens) is completely unacceptable for business class in 2018. China Airlines screens are VASTLY superior in their hardware, their speed, and the quality of their UI. And running an ad before EVERY movie --- in business?! Talk about an airline having no sense of class. That's a cheap, stupid move."

Cons: "My flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong was cancelled due to a problem with the plane. I stood in line for 2 and a half hours at the airport only to have them tell me this. There was not visible sense of urgency on part of the staff at Cathay Pacific and they did not seem to have a contingency plan to deal with such a situation. I especially felt sorry for some of the elderly people who were also in line all that time with noting to drink and no place to sit."

Again another flight to Chicago which dropped the passengers in around midnight. Had to pick them from 4 hour distance from Chicago which was planned early. overall journey was more than 36 hours. No information to the passengers until last minute. Some passengers does know English."

However, the seats are relatively spacious, even in economy and my knees weren't hitting the back of the seat in front of me. I also appreciated that we could get up to grab water or juice at any time during the flight."

Cons: "For the first time in thirteen years traveling with my guitar, I was forced to check in my guitar, potentially in violation of the US Department of Transportation's rule on musical instruments. While my guitar thankfully arrived in good condition, this caused an unnecessary amount of stress in my 24 total hours of travel. I'd highly advise Cathay Pacific to revise their inflexible stance towards musical instruments, as many passengers brought carry-on bags which were much larger than my guitar in its case."

The Moon Cake provided to help us celebrate, even though we were traveling, was an added example of why Cathay Pacific is the standard that everyone else is trying to emulate in Tourist class. The L.A.-based cabin crew provided outstanding service throughout the flight. The in-flight service manager made me believe she cared about the quality of the service in the back, which was outstanding. It was as good as a full, 13-hour flight could be. Even the in-seat entertainment was outstanding and reliable."

Even a complete reboot did not help. We spent the last 6hrs of the flight unable to view anything even though they repeatedly tried to reset the system"

I had boasted to my fam that Quantas (was famous in my memory) as having economy seats that felt more like other airlines Business Seats. My kids were eager to experience the "Quantas" seats. I was severely dissapointed to find that your economy seats, now, are even smaller than the Chinese seats we regularly fly (we are in our 5th year of ex-pat assignment in China). You should have seen the look on my kids faces. Evidently, i must have "talked Quantas up too much", because there was a great deal of dissapointment. We will travel back to NZ and Aus., this fall, but will no longer prioritize Quantas as our airline of choise. I guess times change, and a little bit of nastalgia lost.... :("

I know we made a mistake of getting flight to Manila in Sydney. We should have just gotten flight from Auckland instead but it was an honest mistake. They should have just allowed us since we know it's possible. We spent 14, 000NZ additional for that mistake."

Pros: "Boarding was quick on-time, and organized and we landed early in Sydney. We were lucky to have an extra economy seat for our 14 hour flight. Needless to say, we were comfortable throughout the entire time. The flight attendants were extremely friendly and happy. I loved how they closed the entire cabin down (windows closed and lights off) so that we could all sleep. All in all it was a very pleasant flight. We'll definitely fly Qantas again."
Cons: "The food was very average, but we don't count on good food in economy, so we weren't disappointed. My entertainment mechanism wasn't working correctly and I was unable to access TV or movies for most of the flight but it looked like everyone else was enjoying their entertainment."

Pros: "Our American Airlines portion of the flight to Dallas Fortworth was late. Qantas had someone at the gate looking for us to tell us where to go and to call ahead to say we were coming. The flight was a long overnight one, but the crew made it as pleasant as was possible. We were served a meal and offered drinks and snacks throughout the night."

Cons: "I showed up 1 hour and 20 minutes before my flight. An American agent told me I had to go to the kiosk. The kiosk told me I had to go to the counter. An American agent said I had plenty of time to check a bag, beingnup until 45 minutes before and would not help me. When I got to the counter, it was 1 hour before and they said I was too late to check my bag and since I had a bag, they would not give me a boarding pass. They were awful to me and so unhelpful. I will never use this airline or a sister airline again."

Cons: "On flight bwi to dallas dec 27, loaded us, 2 hr wait in plane on tarmac, then cancelled due to storms and too many planes in dallas on ground. Removed all of us from plane to rebook, a nightmare. Then proceeded to immediately reboard next flight of passengers on same plane to same destination and take off. Return flight booked all at once, Sydney to dallas to bwi. Sydney flight late, gave us special red easy pass envelope with boarding pass to connect to dallas-bwi flight. We had to wait for luggage, then in line for customs, and another line for re checking luggage, then walk to next gate and another security line, and flight left without us. Easy pass did nothing for us. Missed flight by 5 min. Gave us the impression when we got off sydney flight they were going to wait for us. Waited 45 min for luggage, 20 min for customs and 10 min for security. If we had any special treatment at any stage we would have made our connection. Worst experience with American Airlines ever."

Cons: "We missed our connecting flight and was put up in a cheap nasty hotel. This delay resulted in being redirected to LAX where we had to wait over 8 hours at the airport for our flight. When we finally landed in Sydney my wife's luggage was missing they discovered that it was left behind in Dallas. The airline later told me after I called back to check the status her bag did make it on a later flight only to discover that they were wrong. No bag as of yet, our entire vacation has been a disaster."

Cons: "I went to the counter to check in 1 hour before the flight (at around 6am), and the counter has already closed. The lady at the counter said that we had to check in at least 3 hours before the flight, which is a lie. I asked if there is anything she can help re-schedule, and she simple refused to help in anyway. I am very disappointed on the service of Quanta airline."

Cons: "The seats were very cramped on my flight from jfk to lax. Good thing I paid for the extra legroom for the flight from lax to Sydney that was worth it especially for that 14 hrs. flight."
