Bag fees not clear and totally unreasonable, no way to check in or check bags online unless you register with their nosy BIG Points. Late by 1.5 hours! Can't get ANYTHING to eat or drink without paying in local currency cash, not even water. Seats squished together and really uncomfortable. Baggage takes a long time to come out. Poor wayfinding at Kuala Lumpur Airport.
I had 12 kg of excess baggage so was charged $400 cdn for a flight that cost $350 cdn for my seat and 20 kg . The reservation agent refused to give me my ticket back until h the excess baggage charge was paid. I boarded the 1/2 empty plane along with many, many chinese passengers carrying 2 or 3 bags, but as a foreigner, the company rules were enforced on me only.
We had to pay bag fees that cost more than our flights! Was also an international flight where bags are free on all other airlines. Finally, there was no leg room so the guy in seat behind me had his knees digging into my back the entire flight.
1) I've traveled dozens of airlines with the same carryon backpack. The ticket agent required me to weigh my bag and since it was greater than 7kg said I'd have to check it.
2) Flight crew was running late which is entirely understandable. BUT rather than let the 200+ passengers know what was happening the gate agents said nothing.
Delay of 30 min. is the norm. Tried to check in with mobile app. but can't seems like the flight was overbooked. Had to call the call center to check in over the phone and was bumped to front seat (upgraded). Definitely overlooking was the likely cause.
Extremely little leg room. Also they have sneaky charges for luggage weight. Anything over 15kg and they charge you for every extra kilogram. If you want to check in a second luggage you have to check in 4 hours ahead and you still have to pay a lot of money, and it is based on the weight of your luggage . If you don't check in 4 hours in advance and you have an extra suitcase, they charge you by the kilogram and it is ridiculously expensive. More than he cost of the entire flight! And if your flight has multiple legs, you have to pay for the extra luggage every single leg.
The leg room is deplorable. My knees were continuously hitting the hard seat in front of me and going sideways wasn't even an option. I've never had this happen to me before. I'm a female and 5'9 and this is the least space I've ever had on a flight. So uncomfortable I can't imagine a long flight with this airline, which is good to know because now I will not use them for flying to Malaysia from NYC.
Also both flights were delayed by nearly an hour each.
Didn't realize AAsia was a budget carrier until I experienced and asked questions. Terribly long lines and no organization at the CNX check in. Requested a wheelchair for my father but never recieved one and no explanation. We are Thai so language was definitely not a barrier. NEVER AGAIN!!
The flights were delayed for both times of the round trip from BKK to Phuket and Phuket to BKK. Wasted 2 days as we got stranded in the airport. Unacceptable! Flight to Yangon from Bangkok was cancelled and they didn't send any notification to inform us. Horrible customer service. When transferred the flight to Thai Airways flight we were very rudely treated by the counter agent. For 5 hours of wasted time they "accomodated" us with 350 baht ($10) vouchers and when asked to provide us with free extra bag check-in the manager said sorry we can't do that. No resolution no compromise NO SMILE! Above average airline price with terrible service, expect this to happen to you too.
The whole process was great. Workers were nice and efficient. Flight attendants were awesome. The free snack was wonderfully unexpected not the usual free peanuts. Plus the drink service was excellent. Recommending to all my friends
We were a few hours early for the flight and we could not check in. Had to wait an hour to check in
Kayak allowed us to book a flight that was impossible to make. We had two separate VietJet flights (one from Da Nang to Hoh Chih Minh and the other from Hoh Chi Minh to Bangkok). When I booked through Kayak, I searched from Da Nang to Bangkok so I thought they were booked on one ticket but they weren't. We had to get my bags in Ho Chih Minh and completely re check-in for our flights to Bangkok within a 30 minute period after deplaning. Luckily the flight to Bangkok was delayed and we had a nice counter representative that bended the rules and allowed us to check-in after check-in had closed but this was a very disappointing experience with Kayak. The representative said that had we booked through the airline website, the system wouldn't have let us knowing we didn't have enough time between flights to get our bags and re-checkin. I would think that Kayak would know this.
We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.
