The flight was late due to maintenance and caused us to miss our connecting flight to Chicago. American Airlines customer assistance at the airport was absolutely terrible. They were rude and inconsiderate as they kept suggesting to fly standby. We shouldn't have to fly standby when it wasn't our fault why were late. They told us our bags would be ok going to Chicago and they we would make the flight, but we did not. I do not know why didn't wait for us considering there were 8 others that also missed the connecting flight. We had to fly to Denver and stay overnight with no luggage and catch a 7:00am flight to Chicago. The last surprise I received was my damaged bag when I got back to Chicago. Thank you for making this trip memorable in a terrible way. I will never book or recommend Kayak or use American Airlines again.

The ground staff at the gate kept us informed of the delays to the flight.
The flight was 2 hours delayed, apparently because a crew member called in sick at the last minute. Then we had to wait on the runway for the plane to be de-iced. This could have been done while we were waiting for the crew, rather than after boarding.
Plane was clean
Waitjet did not perform preventative maintenance and had to change a tire at Gatwick delaying flight by 2 hours with terrible/late/inaccurate information about when flight would resume = FAIL Result was overnite in Toronto. Lets see how the 6:45 (3446) goes ?
Some of the people who helped with wheelchair assistance for my dad were kind.
1. I previously asked for wheelchair assistance for my father and when we dropped off our bags the agent said she would get someone and told us to sit in the waiting area. After five minutes no one came so I went to the assistance desk and they said they hadn't been informed so they sent someone right away. If I hadn't been there to ask, I don't know how long my mom and dad would have sat there. 2. The man who wheeled my dad to the gate was very nice and he said he arranged for all of us to sit together, which was nice because I wasn't able to sit with my parents since we weren't able to choose the same row when we booked. When we boarded, we found out that the seats hadn't been changed, and the person who previously booked the seat beside my parents refused to move so I sat in the row beside them. These problems were minor but they highlighted a lack of communication between staff and the attendant dealing with us wasn't the most friendly either. I used to fly westjet in the early days when I still lived in Canada and I've noticed that the level of service has gone down. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity and space to comment. helped me find my bag when another airline lost it.
WestJet has very good hard shell seats on the 737-800. These are well contoured and padded, and far enough apart to offer decent legroom (row 8). The seating experience was vastly better than being in a “preferred” bulkhead row on an AC Rouge B767-300. Boarding was efficient so we were able to leave the gate slightly early.
Pre-purchased meals are delivered with the first service after take off, which was awkwardly early on a five hour flight that departed at 3 pm.
The overhead bin did not stay down low enough so that I could place my bag in. It would lower then before I could place my bag raise slightly by a few inches. For someone of my height (5’5”) that was problematic. Fortunately another passenger saw my dilemma and held the bin lower to its full opening capacity. This also momentarily slowed down the boarding process.
