Great

The constant droning on and on about masks is tiring. STOP!

There was a lady pilot. She helped an older lady get on and off the plane and she helped me with my crabby children get off the plane. It meant the world to me. One of the flight attendants was berating a family in front of me about the 2 year old child’s inability/willingness to wear a mask. I am all for wearing masks, but a little child who doesn’t understand why it’s important to wear a mask and is melting down - is it really that important. I understand the need to follow policy’s.

I loved the hospitality of the crew, they were a great crew. What I didn’t like was how the airport I was going to be in for a layover closed down due to it raining in the area. I missed my connecting flight, and got put on a flight that departed 8 hours from the time I arrived to the airport. I also have no news on where my luggage is.

1/2 late for no reason

Flight attendants were super chill and the flight was comfortable. They provide passengers with lots of bottles of water (two or more even); yay for hydration!

Pros: "The crew was amazing!"
Cons: "We were delayed by several hours"
Pros: "The crew was fantastic, and the flight was one of the smoothest I've been on."
Cons: "N/A"
Cons: "None"
Pros: "Everything was better than expected."
Cons: "Nothing"
Cons: "not the cleanest seat/tray table"
Pros: "Crew was very pleasant. Boarding and deplaning was smooth and easy!"
Pros: "Everything"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Boarding was smooth."
Cons: "Nothing."
Cons: "The snacks were limited. They only had cheez-its and no cookies."
Cons: "Food offered in first"
Pros: "The plane was nice"
Cons: "I’m still sitting in Minneapolis so I would have liked to be at my destination. And I had to pay for the overnight accommodations."
Cons: "It was hot"
Cons: "Check carefully! Our flights were changed and the first was only ten min difference so didn’t think anything of it but when we went to check in they said we would probably miss our connection. The problem was not the time but they changed GATES were really far apart. Was resolved but kind of a hassl"
Pros: "good service"
Cons: "K a y a k. Booked tickets on WestJet for us, but we were never told that check in and reservation was to be manage through delta so checkin was difficult and we ended up with poor seats because we were not given any advance notice"
Pros: "Everything . Delta is one of the best"
Pros: "Fantastic crew!"
Pros: "Even in the absolute freezing (-40F) the plane landed an hour early into Minneapolis. Was only delayed 20 minutes leaving. Crew did amazing to get the plane going."
Pros: "Cookies"
Cons: "First leg the server “ran” the aisle and I missed drinks/snacks twice. Seats are rediculously in lack of leg space hip to knee area—I’m a 5’10” female."
Pros: "Didn’t take three days to drive"
Cons: "Packed in like sardines"
Pros: "The last time we flew Delta, we were underwhelmed. Our flight was delayed several hours and there was nothing exceptional about it when it did finally leave. That was 5 years ago, and there's been a lot of changes. There I'd now in-flight entertainment, reasonably comfortable seats, and everything was on time."
Cons: "Virtually no food options."
Cons: "Delays, delays, delays... first class ticket from BOS to MSP got me a 6 hour delay and a middle seat in econ main cabin at the back of the plane. Delta you suck!"
Pros: "Everything was perfect and most of all ON TIME Thank you Delta!"
Pros: "Movies"
Cons: "I hate the biscuits and water... really? On a 3hrs and 30 minutes flight. You guyz can do better"
Pros: "Flight crew is helpful. We travelled with my 82 year old mother who needed some assistance, especially for our short connection times, and they made sure she and our whole group made it to the connections on time."
Pros: "Very friendly crew"
Cons: "Lack of subtitles on available movies & series"
Pros: "Overall experience was awesome. Always love to fly delta. Nice spacious and clean aircraft. Enjoyed the entertainment system."
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Boarding was good even though the plane was overbooked, crew was friendly we even had a good tail wind so we got in early"
Cons: "Kid behind me kicking the seat the whole way"
Pros: "Comfy on time and personable. Food was good too. Thank you."
Cons: "It was all good."
Cons: "The flight was cancelled. Kayak should know that. I got about 15 message s from you about a flight that was cancelled 24 hrs ago. That is not helpful."
Pros: "They have few movies selection that was good"
Cons: "I like being in a big space faster. And clean good service I"
Cons: "The Cancun airport provides a terrible experience for transferring between flights, especially if you need to change from the international terminal to a domestic terminal or vice-versa. There is no way to get between terminals inside security and the free shuttle is slow and overcrowded. Meanwhile, one is forced to run a gauntlet of taxi and shuttle drivers trying to get you to pay them exorbitant fees to drive you to your terminal. Once you finally arrive you discover that there is no dedicated baggage recheck for an international arrival. Just don't buy a ticket that transfers in CUN."
Pros: "Flight attendants were really kind"
Cons: "We were an hour late to leave so I missed my connecting flight and am currently stuck in Minneapolis for nearly 8 hours now"
Pros: "Nothing really"
Cons: "Flight delay further to the 30 minutes additional 20 min due to crew being not there"
Pros: "Entertainment options"
Cons: "Late pickup, then no gate at stopover causing is to miss our flight as we sat on the tarmac. Got on next flight, 5 hours later, the literal last row of the plane right in front of the bathroom, you know, those seats that don't recline? Travelling with a cranky two year old, made pains to select seats for maximum child comfort and it all flew out the window. Arrived at destination and sat, again, waiting for a gate. Signed up for sky miles previously based on good experiences, but this was one lane thing after another. Advice? Don't act like you're doing me a favor when asking people to check bags cause then it's "free"."
Cons: "After waiting patiently through a 3 hour delay we were inbound to Minneapolis. We were set to arrive at 9:45 pm and there were multiple 10 pm connections. Delta flew into the furthest gate away, didn't communicate with the connecting flights to give it 5 more minutes and didn't have transportation waiting to bring us top our connections. After ruining across the entire length of the MSP concourse I arrived at 9:58 only to be told they already left. Worst communication I've ever seen. Delta should be ashamed."
Pros: "the upgraded seats with the new headrests were great. the pilots & crew did a great job despite the more-than-average turbulence."
Cons: "lack of any entertainment options whatsoever (not necessary but always a nice-to-have). More importantly, the fact that I checked-in with seat 14 and ended-up, seemingly randomly, in seat 28 (the back of the plane) when I had SPECIFICALLY selected a seat in the FRONT section of the plane. That was particularly annoying, especially since the optics of the situation were such that I used miles to purchase the flight and got "screwed-over" with respect to my seat selection as if my ticket held less weight than other passengers..."
Pros: "My first and last time flying Delta! Everything that could have went wrong, did in fact go wrong. We were re-booked on connecting flights different then the one we originally booked and weren't even notified. They have a Delta app, but it doesn't even work right. Unless you physically go to the gate to check to see if the flight is on time, that is the only was to find out if you are re-booked onto a different flight or not. I have never flown an airline that re-books you on a different flight when they feel like it. I wouldn't recommend Delta Airlines to my worse enemy!"
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "Plane was supposed to depart at 9:09pm. An announcement was made that in Atlanta which is Delta hub, there were no flight attendants for the flight so we had to wait for another crew to fly in. That's just unporfessiknal. To make matters worse, the gate agents didn't make announcements even if just to say we know this isn't good and we will update you asap even if just to tell you we are still waiting on word. Total silence and seeing the gate agents laugh and talk amongst each other was pretty bad."
Pros: "New plane with plenty of overhead storage space, on flight entertainment system has many options"
Cons: "pressure in cabin on decent was bad, my ears hurt (which only seems to happen on some flights)."
Pros: "The time traveled to get to my destination! It would not be my choice if I was to fly again."
Cons: "The customer service. The flight attendants needs to take some more training on how to provide a better service to paying customers. The seemed a bit unfriendly!"
Cons: "I showed up 2 hrs before the flight. Was told the flight from Toronto to Minn was delayed 30 minutes and go stand in line to speak to an agent. There were approx 20 in line yet only 2 gate agents at 4:30pm. One of the gate agents kept helping the Premium members and bypassing the standard line. The other agent was in a coma as his average person at counter was 10 min. Finally get to counter and they hand me a boarding pass going via Salt Lake in 30 minutes. But has a 3 hrs layover in SL. I then get to US Custom check for US residents re-entering and the line was a good 30 minute wait. You would think the Delta folks would have accounted for that line. I had to ask everyone in front of them if I could skip in front as the plane was now departing in 10 min. I had to then run on a bum knee and was the last to board. The agent at gate was saying we were calling your name but did they think I could have been stuck in customs? On that short of a window they should have walked me through Customs to make sure I got on a flight they wanted me to take versus my scheduled flight."
Pros: "Friendly staff. They went above and beyond to accommodate me whenni arrived late for boarding."
Cons: "none"
Cons: "I chose my seats when I purchased tickets thru Expedia. Then for some reason Delta wouldn't allow me to keep my seats and I had to have them assigned at boarding. Why? What causes this? I was stuck in the back of the small jet from Minneapolis to Cwa when there were a few open seats in the middle. Disappointed. I won't be choosing Delta in the future!"
Cons: "Well, you could have felt that when there is an unprecedented pandemic illness and federal guidance against travel that you don't doubly penalize customers who (1) cannot travel due to the extraordinary public health crisis of COVID 19 and, (2) are devastated that he cannot celebrate his best friend's 40th birthday despite being the thing he looked forward to for months and would love to use a travel voucher in the future when this whole thing eventually blows over. Imagine what your company could gain by being good."
Pros: "Well we made it to our destination and it was on time."
Cons: "There was no kiosk, no one working until 6:30 pm, the employees were rude, tossed our bags carelessly, condescending, nonexistent email communication when trying to precheck and make sure we were set up, the girl making announcements kept messing up and getting mad at herself and stopping her announcement so it was hard to keep track of who was boarding. The seats were incredibly tight - OH and it was ridiculous that after purchasing tickets they then hit you with additional fees - like you have to PAY to pick a seat?! And then if you want to bring a carry on it costs the same as a checked bag?! Nickle and diming at its finest. All of the passengers we talked to from our flight all said the same thing. We will never fly Sun Country again."
Pros: "Price was good."
Cons: "Coffee was bad. Seated in the very last row although there were many seats open. Flight was delayed three times."
Pros: "I’m not sure what I missed when I booked our tickets a couple months ago, we never got email or text reminder for check in. I thought they may just not have online check in option for certain routes. Then we found out people from same flight did get reminder. My husband and I both have globe entry. They did it right when we flew out. On the way back, there was no TSA sign on my boarding pass, so I was redirected to regular line. The plane wasn’t full on the returned flight, yet they assigned seats indifferent rows and way back of plane. I notice there were some empty seats in the front and middle of plane, they packed a lot of people in the back and separated people who traveled together but not paid and selected seats. Is it policy of Sun Country airline? Last time we took Sun Country, they didn’t assigned seats accurately although we paid fee for selected seats. After sending in complain, they did refund the selected fee for my husband. Hope they would see this and improve their ticketing."
Cons: "Seats are comfortable. Flight attendants are giving service and meeting our needs."
Pros: "Spacious legroom, complimentary drinks, comfortable seats"
Cons: "Limited food options and no complimentary snack"
Pros: "The plane crew was great!"
Cons: "My husband is still in Boston because he was not allowed to check in. We tried all morning to check in and we kept getting an error message. I then tried calling and sat on hold for 45 minutes before I was disconnected!! I figured we were close to the airport so what’s the point. We dropped off our rental and my husband realized his cell phone was still in the car, he went back for it. Myself and the other couple checked in and went to the gate. By the time my husband got back to check in, he wasn’t allowed since it was less than 45 minutes before take off! The gate agent told me the flight was over sold and he wouldn’t get a seat anyways. The agents could have cared less. Not accommodating what so ever. Now he sits and waits hoping to fly out at 9 pm, it’s not a guarantee. So now here we are home and he’s not. Very frustrating. No one really seems like they want to help."
Cons: "On July 7th, I was flying from JFK to MSP and then from MSP to PDX. Somewhere on the way, Sun Country Airlines lost my bag and they don't seem to have any idea where it might be. I was forced to spend my entire vacation without my bag. It's been 16 days, we called the baggage services office several times, wrote e-mails, even talked to someone in person in the MSP office and yet nobody's able to help. All we got were promises for a call back about the status of the claim, but nobody ever calls or responds to e-mails."
Pros: "The flight was quick and had friendly crew."
Cons: "I was so upset by all the surprise fees involved. I felt completely scammed and taken advantage of. I have flown sun country many times and had no complaints but this will be the last after pricing changes. First in order to check in we had to pay $11 to reserve a seat- that should be a given when you pay hundreds for a ticket. Then the luggage fees were $20 for a checked bag and $30 for a carry on!!! It pretty much forced us to check a bag to save the money, and then they lost our bag. It was a direct flight, not sure how that happens. And the last and worst fee is traveling with a pet, they charged $199 to bring my 5lb dog on board. Nobody even saw her or checked for her ticket, what on earth is the $199 for when the dog fits in a bag under the seat in front of me. I have had to spend $120 before but an average fee is $60. I would have never brought my dog had I known it would cost $400 round trip. I’m so upset and will never fly sun country again."
Cons: "My hand piece baggage was being charge $45. and to check my hand piece in $25. {Bull crap} American airline has one personal item and one hand piece Free. We were sitting in the plane before take off with no air conditioning until we got up in the air. {Bull Crap} I and all my family and friends will stick with American Airline. No more sun country."
Pros: "Staff was genuinely very pleasant and the boarding process (mind you the flight was half full) was fairly quick. Ha - then again, no one really had carry on baggage, so kept things easy ;p"
Cons: "I booked with Sun Country because rates were significantly cheaper than with Alaska and my priority was to book a nonstop flight. What they don't tell you when booking, is all of the fees associated with your flight that you pay AFTER booking. Baggage Fees: Sun Country doesn't allow you to take more than a personal item on the plane without a fee. It's $20 to check a bag (which you pretty much have to do, as their carry on bag dimensions are smaller than the average roll-a-board bag), and $30 if you want to carry a bag on. Per person. So there's $80 gone for my fiance and I, round trip. Seat Fees: Yes, you heard me right - then you have to PAY FOR YOUR SEAT. I'm sorry - what did I pay for when I purchase my ticket?? The front of the coach cabin starts at $25 per seat (including exit rows), $20, $11 towards the middle, and $2 at the back of the plane. Ok, so apparently if you check in online, you have to select a seat and you have to pre-pay for bags. Ok, felt like I was stiff armed here. The fiance and I decided to go with the $2 seats - can't be that bad, right? Boarding and flight crew were lovely - no complaints here. The plane itself, and the additional costs associated in-air...another story. We were going to a wedding, so he had his suit - the flight attendant let us know the plane didn't have a closet (wait, what?!) so we had to lay it down in one of the overhead bins. Don't worry folks - the bins were next to empty across the entire plan (again, wait, what?!) because of course no one wanted to have to pay $10 more to carry on a smaller bag than it would cost them to check a NORMAL bag. One of the two bathrooms was working, and the entire back of the plane smelled like feces was being recycled through the air system. No wonder these were $2 seats. The aisle was full of people standing the whole flight because the plane only had one working restroom. Entertainment? Hope your phone is charged - the planes are old and don't have outlets. The options for 'entertainment' offered for free on larger carriers like Alaska, are $15 per device on Sun Country - so let's say that's another $60 round trip if we each wanted a 'normal' flight amenity. TOTAL - we're now looking at $144 of charges I would never have imagined ON TOP of the fees I had paid when booking. Next time, I'll go with Alaska - I know what to expect, and know there are no real hidden charges anywhere. At that rate, the cost isn't that different either."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "I came before 50min to boarding and they didn’t allow us to board the flight.. the staff said they have closed the gate .we can schedule u for next day flight.. not even next flight.. next day.. what the hell! What had to pay extra 266$ for hotel reservations.. we already paid 1152$ for the air ticket before.... overall it was a bad first experience with sun country airline...I will never recommend to my family and friend in future."
Pros: "Typical uneventful flight. Professional, attentive crew."
Pros: "The orange juice."
Cons: "No Known Traveler # did not transfer to boarding pass; had to go through regular security instead of TSA Pre. Plane was changed; Got different seat assignment which I paid for. At online check-in I was forced to buy a seat. There was no option to get an assigned seat from Sun Country. After this, plane was changed and my window seat became a center seat. Got zone 5 at check-in even though I checked in within a couple of minutes beginning the 24 hour window. Very unpleasant travel experience."
Pros: "Love the terminal, not so large like the other terminal. Plane on time, people serving us very helpful and nice."
Cons: "There was nothing I did not like. Everything was great"
Pros: "Pilot immediately informed passengers about why our plane was unable to land at the last minute. This helped relieve some anxiety about the situation."
Pros: "The crew on this flight was attentive and nice. The pilot was talented enough to land in a blizzard. It was a non-stop flight."
Cons: "The seats were assigned at random and virtually no one got to sit with the people they were traveling with. We asked for help with this situation, but I really do not think the flight crew or check-in tried much to remedy. When on the plane the guy next to me was traveling with his family and they were all in separate seats on the plane, including his 8 year old boy, who was crying about it... it was a 5-6 hour flight. The other person next to me was not sitting with his wife, neither was I, it was such a scattered mess, it would've been better to let people just first come first serve their seats."
Pros: "Baggage fees waived. Good leg room in row 5. New plane."
Cons: "No snacks (peanuts or pretzels)."
Pros: "The crew/staff was friendly and very cordial."
Cons: "We've flown Sun Country before, but never have a seen such little leg room. We were stuffed in. When leaving one's you had to literally crawl onto the adjourning seat to get out. It must have been the oldest aircraft you still have in flight. We arrived at least 20 minutes late."
Pros: "Our first flight was canceled due to snowstorm. Once we were rebooked and ready both flights were great! That’s why we choose Sun Country!!!"
Cons: "During a severe snowstorm Sun Country would not make the call to cancel our flight! Almost everything was canceled at 1pm when they shut down the airport...but our flight and 2 other Sun Country flights. So we had to fight the storm to get there in unsafe conditions!!!! As we watched the storm get worse, we actually had to board the plane! Then we had to deboard when the airport shut down again.. I felt very unsafe! By the time they finally canceled at 5:30 we were barely able to get the last cab from the airport. Sun Country put us in a dangerous situation to save a few dollars by not canceling the flight!! I was a flight attendant for Sun Country for a short time and thought I had seen a lot, but this was a very poor judgement call!!"
Cons: "WiFi should be available."
Pros: "I always love to fly Sun Country. In flight everything has always been awesome."
Cons: "I went to the counter in Denver to ask the gate agent where my seat was (middle or aisle) and if I could get it moved. The agent said he would help me once he was done setting up. I sat there for 15-20 minutes while he moved the ropes around (for the line), set up his mouse, found a mouse pad and set that up, found signs to put up at the desk and made sure they were in the right spot. He was on the computer for a good 5 minutes writing notes on a paper. I waited patiently, but was getting really annoyed that he couldn't look up my seat quick and then go back to setting his desk up. Finally, he took my ticket, did not apologize for my wait or thanked me for being patient, and just said he had no seats. I waited 20-minutes, which then I didn't have time to eat before we boarded the plane. I was extremely disappointed in him telling me he'd help, did not communicate that I needed to wait for him for that long and then wasn't nice enough to thank me for waiting. Incredibly disappointed in this service."
Cons: "We boarded the plane and were all settled in when they discovered an issue with the wing. We all deplaned one hour after we were supposed to take off and got in lines to be re-booked on another flight the next day (10am, not an option for us). Luckily, my partner found a delta flight going out that night so we booked the flight while waiting in the sun country line and ran, just barely making it."
Pros: "the flight was on time to take off, arrived early"
Cons: "I don't like that they board randomly, starting from the back of the plane.. Most people book their seat knowing that they know will board first. The seats were uncomfortable on this flight, the back of the seat was at a weird angle and made noise when you adjusted it. seemed like an older plane. Kid behind me kept kicking and pushing her legs on the back of my seat, slamming the tray up and down, talking in a loud high pitched voice... mother next to her did nothing. Flight attendant told the kid once, to back off my seat with her legs... kid kept it up. made for an unpleasant flight."
Pros: "My bag was a couple pounds overweight, but the woman at check-in gave me the opportunity to move things around to make sure my bag was under the 50 pound limit. There was NO WAY I was paying an extra $50 because my bag was a couple pounds over the limit. I was so flustered after moving things between my bags that I walked away after getting my boarding pass and forgot to pay for my baggage. I went back and apologized, and the woman at check-in was very understanding and polite. Boarding the plane was very quick and there were no issues. I was seated next to 2 unaccompanied minors and the flight crew took very good care of them, which was a relief to me."
Cons: "I tried to check-in online the day before my flight and it said that all seats were already booked unless I wanted to pay extra to be in the preferred section or in the exit row. When I got to the airport, I was not allowed to choose my seat and ended up in the very last row on the aisle, when I had already requested a window seat online. Throughout the entire flight, people (including the flight crew) were bumping into me and my seat or using my seat as an arm rail while waiting for the bathroom. Everything with this flight came with an extra fee. I would much rather fly Delta and receive in-flight entertainment, charging stations, and online check-in where I can choose my own seat."
Cons: "This was a red eye flight and the attendant was the loudest on flight. Constantly walking about and talking loud. Then just when the pilot indicated that we would be making initial descent - I quick got up to go to the bathroom and the attendant followed me, knocked on door and said I couldnt use the bathroom because we were less than 10,000 feet. Then about two minutes later, I hear a toilet flush and turn around and the same attendant who tells me that I cant use the restroom - comes out of bathroom door! She had long brown hair and glasses. So its ok for her to use bathroom but not me? And we didnt even land for another ten minutes!"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing."
Cons: "The people working at the desk at the gate laughing and running around pretending there was no delay. Only announcing the plane had issues when we were supposed to be departing. Waiting an hour later to announce we needed a new plane. Finally leaving two hours past schedule. Arriving to Minneapolis late and missing my connection. Being told to go back to ticketing and they new what was he opening yet they had no idea. Not getting a refund for my checked bag. Having to beg for a morning flight. Behind transferred to a different airline all together. Waiting for luggage that had already been in the baggage claim office for over an hour but no one had said anything. Worst airline ever. No wifi. Flight attendants were rude. Asked for a seat belt extender three times and was only given one when the plane was about to lift off. You're reading that correctly, the plane was moving and I still did not have a seat belt on. Worst airline ever."
Pros: "This was my first trip using Sun Country and the departure and return flights were direct. I would use this airline again. I like their process for boarding flights. The flight staff were kind and courteous. We took off and landed safely (HUGE PLUS)! At the gate, I sat near the counter and saw how the gate staff treated customers. It was evident they cared about their job and the customers they serve. There was a minor issue when 1 of 2 wheelchairs made it to the gate. They worked hard to track down an additional wheelchair for a customer getting off a flight. They treated customers with questions and requested seat reassignments kindly and were clear and composed in their communication."
Cons: "The seat was rather uncomfortable. It was dirty and hard. I was somewhat disappointed that there were no "complimentary" snacks, but if it's meant to kee fares low, I'm all for it. I'll bring my own then."
Pros: "voucher for hotel"
Cons: "Sun Country flight was struck by lighting and was diverted. sun country was not helpful and was confused about theire own policies anddid not offer soIutions. This was a familiy get together I had to purchase a flight from delta that left the same time and was able to make the flight, but was rejected by Iceland Air because they had rebook me for the Sunday Flight without communication. I am disappointed in Sun Country as they did not relay the information that I purchase the flight from Delta that lands that same time. I am disappointed that I was not texted with any update as my email and phone number. I am sad because this was a day I lost wiith my family that I have not seen for years. This is time lost that cannot be returned."
Pros: "Nice staff!"
Cons: "No snacks."
Cons: "First, it took an hour to board the plane. If you loaded back to front this could be alleviated. Then the seats are horrible. Hard, short seated and no room. Paid for a cold cheeseburger. What's up with that? Held on to garbage they refused to take until after we were supposed to prepare for landing and got yelled at to put my tray table up even I had just gotten rid of my garbage. It was rude since some other attendant had just refused to help me. Now I sit here getting gassed by them having opened up the back of the plane while we are still stuck on here."
Pros: "Great boarding process, on time flights, good room between seats, good crew. Will fly with Sun Country every time I have aa chance."
Pros: "Pleasantly surprised by the ample legroom. Also, the flight attendants were very attentive and interactive."
Pros: "Both flights arrived early"
Cons: "Seats were a little hard"
Cons: "I booked 4 months in advance and couldn't reserve a seat. Tried to call the 800# the day before and was on hold for 45 mins when I gave up. I tried Twitter and that took over 46 mins, to FINALLY learn its common with Sun Country to leave some seats open to be assigned at the gate — and it DIDNT mean the flight was overbooked after all. Over 90 minutes spent trying to get a simple answer. While on vacation, no less. I definitely do not feel like a valued customer."
Pros: "Price for fare good ! Direct flight a plus !"
Cons: "Was surprised that ANY snack on this 4+ hr flight to Mexico had to be purchased. Wasn't prepared for that - don't travel frequently so that unexpected. Time changes things!"
Pros: "The plane was clean and the crew friendly"
Cons: "The check-in counter was limited in ability to serve frequently telling customers to call the 1-800 number which didn't pick up for anyone. Not helpful."
Pros: "We got a good deal from Frontier Airlines, and decided to try them out. I can say never will I do that again. Our flight was cancelled and they were awful to deal with, leaving us stranded in Orlando. I booked a flight with Sun Country and everything went smoothly with Sun Country. I even was interviewed by the news and told them that we were happy to be with Sun Country- so hopefully that gained you some more business. The crew at the ticket desk, the pilot, and all the flight staff was wonderful. They made an awful day so much better. I am very happy that we were able to find a flight back to Minneapolis with Sun Country. We will for sure fly Sun Country from now on."
Cons: "Only negatives were having to pay for a checked bag and also the seats seemed more narrow then what we were used to. The arm rests didn't go up all the way, so that was slightly uncomfortable. Other than that, we were very pleased."
Cons: "Everyone knows that traveling with a child is tough, but most of us have to do it. All the passengers were very empathetic and trying to help me entertain my child and the flight attendants on both flights to and from were so rude and judgmental with me. They made a tough flight so much more emotionally draining. They gave me looks, as I was walking my child (the only thing that made him happy) they'd say "Where's your seat??" and make us go back to our seat whenever we were up trying to get him to calm down. No turbulence or anything. It was a nightmare! I've used Delta in the past and they were so much more accommodating and helpful."
Cons: "Couldn't check-in online due to unknown "server error". The guy at the airport said they had a system failure the previous night - no info on the site though, so we've lost 45 minutes retrying check in online. The plane itself was definetely not renovated for quite some time (the interior). Not too comfy seats, but had worse. Boarding was a bit unusual - they're splitting the passengeres to maaaaaany groups - military, no carry-on luggage, disabled, with kids, with carry on to put under the plane, first class and finally the regulars... Not sure if that actually speeds up the process, seems officious.."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable and the staff friendly."
Cons: "A few complimentary snacks would have been helpful, as I started getting a headache from hunger. We sat in the Tarmac for an extra hour before we left. Also, some began-friendly options would have helped."
Cons: "Went to check in online and the only seats that were supposedly available were "premium" seats with an upcharge. Obviously a scam to extort more money from their customers. Their app wouldn't allow me to check in otherwise, since I couldn't pick a seat without paying an upgrade fee. We called and waited an hour on the phone, then were told we had seats, but to get to the airport three hours early to pick seats. Got there three hours early and got our seats. This is why I'd rather drive most of the time. If I can drive it in less than 20 hours, I skip flying because it will take at least ten hours to fly by the time you factor in debacles like this, stops, and missed flights. Just not worth it."
Pros: "Direct flight, the gate was close to the security checkpoint in terminal 4"
Cons: "This plane had an hour plus delay. I know these things happen, especially on flights later in the day, so it's not that the flight was delayed. The entire Sun Country staff was unacceptable. First, the airport staff wouldn't tell us when we were boarding or the updated departure time after the first delay. We ended up boarding 15 minutes after the posted departure time with no warning or notice. Once on the plane, the flight crew wouldn't give us a take off time (such as how many planes we were behind in line) or our arrival time in Minneapolis."
Pros: "The San Francisco based crew and customer service was very welcoming, friendly and accommodating."
Cons: "On the return flight (out of their hub airport!), their online system failed so it didn't capture that we had prepaid both our checked bags nor our seat selection. When we arrived at the ticketing counter they were essentially accusational about the issue. We showed the confirmation page on our cell phone and even logged into our mobile banking app to show them and still had to argue about paying again. On top of that, they acknowledged the system was having issues and would do absolutely nothing to help us get seats together (my husband and I), let alone anywhere near what we had selected during the online check-in process (we paid extra for an aisle and middle towards the front of the plane, and they gave us two middle seats in the back of the cabin). There were four empty seats in first class, and they wouldn't even bump up a frequent flyer to give us seats together in coach. Not once did anyone apologize, ask how they could help, or just try to be helpful. Both "managers" were clearly poorly trained in handling these situations and defensive and dismissive (walking away while we were speaking). They didn't even offer a free meal voucher. Nothing was done to help rectify the situation. It was honestly shocking how terrible of an experience it was - no indication that they felt we were a paying customer. There were so many little things they could have done even without changing our seats that would have made the situation better. I will never fly this airline again, out of principle, and will absolutely share my experience with everyone I know. If someone from Sun Country reads this, the managers' names are Oniekey Brown and Jolynn Carpenter. I would suggest your management chain have a conversation with both of them and highly suggest training."
Pros: "Nothing. The experience was awful"
Cons: "The flight got delayed by over 4 hours without explaination as to why. There was no one to ask at the counter. When I called the number they said the wait time was 30 mins to speak with a Rep. As I was waiting and automated system started talking, saying the reason you have a longer wait than expected time is because Sun Country is trying to incorporate new innovations. You're reaction might be it's crazy and you're right it is. After all this I waited quietly the rest of the evening. Came time for on boarding, the team was highly UNTRAINED. I watched them switched TWO mothers with infants from line tonline multiple times the lines got out of control people were literally jumping lines. No sense of leadership nor organization. Literally take this as a warning from someone who has had multiple bad experiences with the same airlines in the last year and half. I am done with Sun Country!"
Cons: "It was a pretty unpleasant ride, I arrived only to find that the size listed for carry-ons on their website was inaccurate se ended up having to check my bag at the gate for a 25$ fine and had to pay another 20$ on the way back. Really expensive especially for a college student who can barely afford it on top of the nearly 500$ ticket. Definitely not worth that especially if they scam you into paying for checked bags. I don't know if it was just this one flight but I don't plan on flying Sun Country again. Horrible experience."
Cons: "Sharing a single gate with 3 airlines leaving at the same time is I'm sure not what anyone wants. Departing time was supposed to be at 1210, instead we took a bus to I think Mexico to board the plane then we taxied the plane all the way back to LAX and took off at 218 (well documented time). I was late for work so I was let go, my wife left me and took our 4 sort of intelligent kids with her. I'm just glad I could write this review before my phone services are shut down do to lack of funds. At the end of the day things could have been worse but I'll survive. "Just keep swimming"-Dory"
Cons: "Did not eat or have entertainment on the way over so you could say NA."
Pros: "Customer service that includes reservations Mexico, Cancun gate agents, wheel chair persons MN, flight crew and ground agents, wheel chair person. We had to change our flight because wife became ill in Mexico. Sun Country made a difficult trip easy. We are so very grateful to all the employees we came in contact with. Sun Country is amazing. in our book. I looked around wondering if they were only treating us so well. No, they treated everyone well in Mexico. Thank You Sun Country"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 6 hours and didn't get home until Midnight on a sunday. They only offered a cheeseburger for a meal, and didn't have any other options for people with allergies like gluten free because they "ran out when serving the back first who got both a burger and side. When asking the flight attendant if there was any other option because of my allergy she rudly stated she had "a cheeseburger or a burger with cheese". We were not contacted about our flight until we were checking in at 10 am and the attendant at the airport said they knew at 7 am that the flight was delayed, we could have spent the whole day with our rental car checking out more sights but had already turned in our rental so couldn't go back."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable and even in the last row my seat reclined. Flt attendants were great!"
Cons: "Offering hamburgers as the main meal item for sale on an 8am flight that was over 5 1/2 hrs long wasn't seem like a good idea. I can't quite buy a cheeseburger at 9am. No other sandwich options were available, only crackers , chips or fruit... nothing substantial. Not checking the size of carry on items when handing out boarding passes or when allowing people to board is a bad idea. Please enforce carry on size limis. Allowing people to carry on full size luggage really makes the boarding process diificult."

Very pleasant.

Check-in was a nightmare. At least half the self-serve kiosks were out of printer paper so were out of service. It was chaos. No one was directing traffic, so you had to hope you were in the right line. We finally got to a kiosk and checked in, and printed one bag tag for checked baggage. We were in line to drop off the checked bag, and the lady working that station just walked away and didn’t come back. After we waited a bit, another person in line went to ask at the nearby counter if the bag check person was coming back, and she wasn’t, so we had to find a new line and wait all over again. Once we got our bag dropped off and our tickets, the rest was easy. The security line went quickly, and the terminal was clean and nice. Our flight was great and the flight crew was excellent. I think if someone had kept up with the kiosk printers, a lot of the check-in headaches and stress would have been solved.

Pros: "Crew was professional and accommodating, everything went smooth and quickly"
Cons: "App continued to crash. Couldnt watch movies."
Pros: "No problem with boarding and flight crew. Seating was comfortable."
Cons: "Checked in 1 hour 45 minutes early and our checked baggage did not leave with the plane. Lost baggage representative on the OKC airport was incompetent. Repeated contact information 3 times and still had to follow up delivery with corrected address and phone number."
Pros: "Crew"
Cons: "The delays due to software"
Cons: "We miss our flight due to immigration paper"
Pros: "Honestly, Nothing!"
Cons: "Most terrible flying experience all around. I will never fly American airlines again."
Cons: "Power sources Onboard entertainment"
Pros: "There were very helpful when we really needed help."
Cons: "The overall experience. I was so disappointed from when we got delayed to asking for accomodation for my family. I will not use this airline unless I absolutely need too."
Cons: "5 hour delay including multiple gate changes, being pulled off the runway and poor communication"
Cons: "I will never, ever book with Kayak again"
Cons: "Flight was delayed for more than 4 hours with little communication from staff as to why, gate was changed to a gate across the airport."
Cons: "As usual the small plane and bare bones flight service makes for a horrible flight 3 hours late 4th flight on American that has had insane schedule problems"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Condescending staff, lackadaisical crew, pitiful excuses of why we were delayed."
Pros: "Staff were nice enough."
Cons: "We gate checked our stroller and carseat intending to pick them up at the gate when we land. This is something we do every flight we take with no issue, but despite the gate agent confirming that the items would meet us on the jetway, when we landed, we were informed that we would need to pick them up in baggage claim. This meant that instead of having our infant sleeping in his car seat as we spent an hour + going through customs, we had to carry a crying baby around the entire time. In addition to the fact that we asked the gate agent told us the wrong thing, instead of being handled with care, the stroller and car seat were sent down the baggage claim carousel with all of the other bags, getting banged up. This was incredibly frustrating and a terrible customer service experience."
Pros: "This is such a quick flight, and the staff made it quite easy."
Cons: "My in Flight Wi-Fi did not work. Not a huge deal, because it's such a quick flight, but it is a little Annoying, and may have just been a bad day for the system."
Pros: "Boarded on time. Concierge met me at baggage check to direct me to the queue I needed. (Two days ago, no concierge, and I spent 15 min in the wrong line to check a special-handling bag.)"
Cons: "25 min to get from late push-back to throttle-up. Late arrival at destination."
Pros: "Crew"
Cons: "Tight seating"
Cons: "My wife needed a wheelchair at arrival at ORD. Although 5 people needed wheelchairs only 2 were available! Then no one from Prospect was there to push them. We were at the farthest International Airport gate M20. After 10 minutes one "pusher" arrived and moved my wife to the bottom of the ramp, approximately 100 feet and left her sitting in the corridor unattended. Although I had 2 Rolla boards I had to push her the full distance to Immigration and Customs. Our bags were sitting on a stationary baggage conveyor, the last from our American Airline flight. It wasn't until we're were ready to leave Customs that 4 people from "Prospect" asked if they could help, saying that they were SORRY!! They had just been standing around. A year ago I had the exact same thing happen to me from gate M1 and my wife had to push me the full distance. BTW, I 'm 71 and my wife is 68."
Pros: "Smooth Travel! AA is great"
Cons: "N/A"
Pros: "Felt very quick, I supposed after a 15+ hour flight from Sydney."
Cons: "As always tight seats."
Cons: "The trip is still ongoing 6 hours after it was to have been over and we still have a couple more hours to go. I understand that things happen, but most of the problems today seem to have been preventable. First, our plane in Lihue was delayed for over 3 hours because they could not get a working fuel truck to fill the plane. Three hours? This caused us to miss our connection in LA, although just barely. We had to wait onboard so that we could use the same gate that our outgoing plane was departing from. If we had just been sent to a different gate we. Oils have made our original flight. So, they put us on a flight to Chicago because there were no more flights to Minneapolis. Then, once in Chicago the incoming plane was delayed and we sat on the tarmac for 40 minutes before deplaning. Then after an hour delay we were told the crew was on the ground and we were boarded. Sat in the plane for another hour, then we’re told we were still waiting for crew members that were delayed so we deplaned again. Another 90 minutes past and we got back on the plane and sat for another 45 minutes. We are finally pulling away from the gate. Hallelujah!"
Pros: "The touch down at MSP. Was sitting over the wing and barely felt it."
Cons: "Was told carry on needed to be checked because there wasn't any more overhead room for my 9X14X16. So then I had to dig through it at the gate to remove lithium batteries and it took an additional 20+ minutes at MSP to get to baggage claim/wait/claim bag. There was plenty of room in overhead storage for my bag."
Pros: "Crew; snacks are okay, but could be better."
Cons: "Coffee is always burnt; overhead compartments too small; too little space for legs."
Pros: "Nothing. Still waiting on New Years to see if AA get us back to MSP"
Cons: "Taking a bus to the Tom Bradley terminal"
Pros: "Reliable and efficient."
Cons: "It took a while for the luggage to be delivered to the claim area, but it was very late in the day so I guess it is to be expected."
Cons: "I get the pleasure of paying to check a bag! On top of it they lost my bag for two hours. What am I paying for again? At least it wasn’t gone for good..."
Pros: "Perfect quiet comfy flight"
Cons: "New cheap fare is honestly offensive trash."
Pros: "Crew was friendly and provided good service."
Cons: "Seats are very small. Boarding process could be improved. Seems some people board out of sequence and it screws up the process of stowing luggage and getting to your assigned seat. These same people bring in large over sized bags that will not fit in the above compartment or underneath the seat. Charging these individuals for these violations would deter them from engaging in this behavior. You might also want to add to your instructions how to disembark the plane, some individuals think their schedule is more important and rush up the isle in front of others who are trying to get their carry on luggage from the overhead compartment. Losers!!"
Cons: "I find this fairly serious! All people were boarded on the plane In a timely manor. We were then informed that one flight attendant had not made to the flight and we were to wait until the flight attendant arrived. We waited over 20 minutes for the employee to arrive to work rather late. This put out over 200 people for one irresponsible employee. In my business that employee would of been fired unless there was a very serious reason. So a full plane of passengers were inconvienced as well as many people that were helping the passengers what maybe 300 + for one employee! Doesn't make sense!"
Pros: "I found this flight to be very efficient and the crew very professional and friendly. After a previous 15 hour flight I was very tired and this flight was a welcome ending to my journey."
Cons: "No priority boarding for people with babies and toddlers"
Cons: "The handle for the window shade was torn off"
Pros: "Nothing!"
Cons: "I was upset with overall customer service"
Pros: "Great flight with a super crew!"
Pros: "The most memorable part of our trip was a completely rude flight attendant! She asked my friend a question while she had her headphones on and when my friend said "excuse me", the flight attendant repeated herself in an extraordinarily snotty condescending manner that was completely uncalled for!"
Cons: "Female attendant on 11/22 mpls>Dallas-Fort was very rude."
Cons: "3 hour delay - no compensation."
Cons: "After having my flight delayed 4 hours causing me to miss my connection, I was placed stand by on a different flight through another city so I could try and make it home on time. I was the first person in line for stand by, but the flight was full so I knew it was a long shot. Waiting at the gate, I was excited because one person didn't show and they were giving him a two minute wait time before I could board. During this wait time a woman passenger came over and said she had just been given a ticket change at the gate counter. The agent at the gate was furious because the flight was sold out and said the woman should not have received a ticket, but should have been placed on stand by. She went over and scolded the other agent for this mistake. Okay, so she should've been placed on STAND BY behind me in line. After the unprofessional arguing between the two agents, they both admitted it was a mistake and she should be second in line for stand by, BUT they did not honor this and placed her on the plane bumping me. Needless to say, I missed my connecting flight because of this and extremely inconvenienced my family and in addition had to pay an extra 75 dollars out of my pocket to keep my dogs at their kennel an extra night because I arrived home 5 hours after expected. I understand that flights end up getting delayed and the agents are doing the best they can to accommodate travelers, but admitting a mistake and not fixing it to make it right is unacceptable. I notified American Airlines of my situation and only received a form letter with enough miles to get me 1/8 of a flight. I don't even care about the miles because I don't plan to ever fly with them again, I want the money for the dog kennel I had to pay extra. I was visiting my husband who serves in the US Army causing separation from our family for long periods of time and this extra headache and expense due to the mistake of American Airlines was disheartening."
Pros: "The crew's response was better than expected."
Cons: "Snacks were a bit too expensive."
Pros: "Flight was on time, and arrived about 1/2 hour early into MPS!!"
Pros: "Love the new entertainment on your own phone"
Cons: "Boarding took forever due to people's luggage in the overhead."
Pros: "Uneventful, except for a malfunctioning getaway in MSP which caused a very brief delay."
Pros: "Hospitality, service, flight, and crew!"
Cons: "Pretzels"
Cons: "It was freezing."
Cons: "Requested for wheelchair assistance but none provided?!!"
Cons: "Two hour delay due to mechanical issue was a showstopper."
Cons: "Crew was snarky towards passengers. Short tempered and just seemed bothered by people."
Pros: "Like how it's a non stop flight into Colorado Springs."
Pros: "Cheap ticket."
Cons: "2 hour delay, packed flight."
Cons: "Complimentary Soda..."
Pros: "The crew was good"
Cons: "For the price I won’t complain"
Pros: "Flight originally was very helpful."
Cons: "Flight cancelled night before:("
Cons: "one hour late leaving"
Pros: "Crew was great. Fast on and off. Pilot did an awesome job despite the weather. Great price."
Cons: "Plane inside was dirty."
Cons: "Crabby cabin crew, seats don't recline, a metal bar in the seat was poking acres my back the entire flight. I'll never ever save a couple bucks and fly like that again"
Pros: "Flying"
Cons: "No snacks"
Cons: "I had surgery on my shoulder a week prior to our flight. I needed preboarding .. even after talking to the gate attendant they still failed to notify me and other passengers that need pre boarding .. I got bumped around by several people. The seats were very uncomfortabl, no entertainment, prices were high for in flight food and beverages. I will never fly Frontier"
Pros: "They got us there and the flight crew was again pleasant."
Cons: "The 1/2-hour delay out of San Jose, followed by a 3.5 hour delay in Denver. The gate staff and the Customer "Disservice" staff that were condescending, rude, and knew nothing about why we were delayed. "It just says station delayed. I have no idea what that is. We'll tell you when the new departure time is when we know it." The hours without any update of status so we had no idea if we could leave the gate area to get something to eat and drink. The gate agent who stared at the passengers like each was a major inconvenience to her day while she chatted with the tall good looking passenger and was all smiles. Loved getting home at 2am rather than 11 pm when we were supposed to arrive. Made that 2 hour drive home so much more fun! Thanks, Frontier!!"
Pros: "It didn't break down midair."
Cons: "Thee most hard seats ever. City busses are more comfortable. I travel often and this was a very last minute trip so I booked it, I've never seen seats like that on a plane. The tray table is super tiny, I'm a 5'9 woman and my knees were almost touching the seat in front of me while I was sitting. Both flights were delayed for maintence issues. Plane was extremely, old, worn and dirty. Thankfully it was only an hour and a half flight but I'm still sore it was so uncomfortable. I literally think inmates transferring prisons would receive more comfortable accommodations."
Pros: "Very nice crew."
Pros: "I bought my one way ticket from DEN to MSP for less than $10 bucks. How did I pull this off? - I bought it from a gate agent AT the airport (thus avoiding the convenience fee that comes with buying online) - I did not check a bag - I brought a small bag that was considered a "personal item" (this is free, but there are some very important sizing restrictions to check on their website. If your bag is too big, you WILL be charged a lot more) - I did not select my seat, or the seats of the people that were traveling with me (they ended up putting us all together, anyway) If you look at any of the other reviews that complain about Frontier (or Spirit, who pretty much has the same business model), you can tell these people hadn't prepared for the "ultra low fare" experience. With a little homework (and legwork!), you can save your money for the best part of your vacation... relaxing at your final destination!"
Cons: "The padding in the seats is very thin, but, again, you get what you paid for!"
Cons: "Charges for both carry-on and check in bag. Charges increase by when and where you check your bags. Carry-on bag more of a charge. No one at check in counter when arrived. Waited 1/2 before anyone arrived, and this was during the late afternoon. Frontier ticket appears cheap until I added my luggage and picked my seat...adding an additional $80 to price. Then to find out the person next to me only paid $70 for the same ticket. My ticket at least 4 times more."
Pros: "Crew was friendly and welcoming."
Cons: "Wished I was aware of the charging for carry-on policy. Flight ended up costing me a additional $90 ($45 each way). I picked this flight because it was the "cheapest," turns out it wasn't. Also ridiculous that they charge for any beverage other than tap water."
Cons: "Called 2 weeks in advance to cancel. After getting sent to 4 different people thinking I would get help I was told it was $99 to cancel and $130 to change person to fly. My son could not go due to college and it was cheaper just not to show up for the $118.00 flight. If there was no hope for a refund it would have been nice to be told that from the beginning instead of 45 minutes and 4 people later to tell me that. I"
Pros: "The crew and airport staff were pleasant."
Cons: "No complimentary drinks or snacks $40 to check one bag Checking in for Frontier was chaotic and time consuming at PVA airport. This is really not a money saving airline due to the fact they charge for bags, carry ons, snacks, drinks including water. Will not fly with them again."
Pros: "Price! A comped beverage! The miracle of human flight!"
Cons: "Hey guys, I had a rather interesting experience on my flight to MSP that I thought I would let you in on. I know most would rather punch up their flight as a TERRIBLE, AWFUL experience. I'd rather give you the full story because I know there's another person on the other end of this, like me, just trying to get through the day. I decided to upgrade to seat 1D. I was excited for my trip and I wanted to start it off by having a good seat and a quick exit. When I boarded, however, there was already someone in my seat. So I shuffled to the side where the flight crew prepares drinks. A crew member approached me. "Someone in your seat?" she asked kindly. "Yes," I replied. "Yeah..." she trailed off. I expected her to ask the person to find her seat. This did not happen. I never got a straight answer but I surmised that this person had a physical ailment of some kind, or perhaps children that needed to be attended to. Whatever the case, I stood in the same spot while the entire plane filled. I really wasn't angry - just quite confused. The crew seemed just as confused. It was the last flight of the day - they looked tired. I don't blame them. The crew ended up having to shuffle more than me to row 13 - an exit row, to their credit. An aisle exit row seat is a fine seat. One crew member even offered a comped beverage, which I gladly accepted. The flight took a little late. We arrived in Minneapolis safe and sound. I suppose I was - and still am - confused as to why there is an option to pick a specific seat if there is a chance that specific seat is more of a suggestion on the passenger's part. What if I also had physical ailments that necessitated that seat? What if I had children booked to fly with me? It was all slightly confusing. Overall, it was not a bad experience and I've already booked another flight with Frontier. But the idea of choosing specific seats only to not get that specific seat has dissuaded me from paying that extra money. I hope this all makes sense and that you are enjoying the new year and staying warm. Blessings to you and yours."
Pros: "Excellent value! Decent seat to sit in for 3.5hrs. I gave one star for food because I didn't buy any food that was offered, after all I was only on the plane for 4 hrs total. Smooth ride compared to other passenger reviews, my only other time in a plane was very rough@ landing@ O'Hare Chicago during bad weather, that pilot got a round of applause. I will look to use Frontier Airlines again if I ever fly anywhere."
Cons: "I would have liked internet access but there didn't seem to be any. I would have paid $5 more for WiFi. The seats are a bit cramped but for $50 I wasn't expecting barca-loungers. Since I have only flown once before in my life I was interested in hearing and understanding the safety instructions given by the flight attendant, but she spoke so fast that I (with some hearing loss) couldn't follow her words. I couldn't make much sense of the picture book instructions either because there were few words of actual direction."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Late taking off, didn't have to pay for a carry on to our destination, but did on the way back. Took over an hour to get our luggage. Seats were hard as a rock and tray tables barely held our phones. I will never fly with frontier again!"
Pros: "One of the ground staff really tried to be helpful."
Cons: "Frontiers cancelled flight cost us over 400.00 us. Supervisors were no where to be found. Excuse used was weather when reason was pilot strike so company could renig on any responsibility. Shame on you."
Cons: "I want to start by saying i am totally disappointed in this airline. I am currently in Orlando my flight was supposed to leave at 11:25am today. I have stood in 4 lines twice in lines that the attendent left to go socialize and one i waited for over an hour and than into a secound for well over an hour. I informed them i have a severely autistic son and needed to find a way home as soon as possible. Mind you while all of them watched my son go in and out of meltdowns countinually hitting me. Needless to say in spite of not getting a flight today and being told they can get me on the earliest flight on Thursday and they supply no lodging. No appology no nothing!!! In the midst of it all i met some angels. Ones that hung out and forgave my son for hitting them, let Mazi play with their ears and went looking for people to help us. I even had a woman come up to me and look for flights for me and my son and offered to write a check to get me and my son home. This same woman put $300.00 in my hand to help me. Her name Tracy Morgan from Florida! So inspite of the awful treatment from this airline i am blessed beyond mesure from the human heart of people I have never met and the love and kindness they shared with me and my son! Found a flight tomorrow thanks to my mom leaving at 8am from a different airline. The resort offered to let us stay for another night free of charge."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Seemed like a good price until I booked and then had to pay for add on such as a carry on piece of luggage. They also gave a sales pitch onboard about "their" credit card. Seats were crowded and uncomfortable. The flight attendants seemed as if they would have rather been anywhere but helping passengers. Both flights were late not due to weather. After booking this flight with all of the ad ons, I found I could have flown Sun Country or Delta for less - and next time I will use another airline."
Pros: "I had no problems with the crew or employees at frontier."
Cons: "I was aware that this airline charged for carry-on's and beverages that other airline companies usually provide fee of charge. However, there were several other issues that I had that soured the experience for me. First of all, the seats were considerably less comfortable. The backs of the chairs were plastic, the try table was so small it might as well not have been there at all, and the leg room was terrible. On the way back there was a line of about 300 people at the Frontier desk to check baggage. I don't know if they simply did not staff appropriately, or if there were too many flights scheduled to take off around the same time, but I've never seen anything like it. They did attempt to fix the issue by pulling the people who had sooner flights to the front of the line, which I was thankful for or I would have certainly missed the flight. However, this could have been avoided by planning flights more appropriately, and certainly was not the most fair approach. Finally, we had to wait for about 45 minutes for our checked bag after the flight as well. This could have been the fault of the airport itself, but I've never had an issue with baggage at this airport before. Overall, I don't think the extra saving was worth it, and I'll likely be flying with a different airline in the future"
Pros: "Smooth boarding, on time departure and early arrival by few minutes, continuous updates about safety during flight from the crew."
Cons: "I really would think supplying water for passengers without a cost would be very nice as water is a basic necessity of life. I am glad I had my own . The overall low cost is definitely off set by all the extra charges for drinks, snacks and especially the luggage."
Cons: "Hidden fees"
Pros: "Cheap flight"
Cons: "Didn't get notified about a gate change and almost missed the flight"
Cons: "Leaving MLPS/St Paul we were not charged for a small bag, I was charged $40.00 to use the overhead. Return trip I thought I was paying for over head but the website is confusing for a non traveler, so I ended up with a check in on a carry on for the cost of $25.00. A small suitcase that we were not charged for leaving MLPS. we were charged $30.00 in Orlando. Cheap flight?? $95.00 extra fees, ended up being not so cheap and their seats are horrible!!"
Pros: "I was able to sleep"
Cons: "That I had to pay for my seat and carry on. There were no TVs, limited options for food to buy"
Pros: "The crew was courteous, and I always prefer a direct flight when possible."
Cons: "The seats are not comfortable and do not recline at all (particularly inconvenient on early morning and late night flights). The fact that Frontier charges $40 or $60 for a carry-on at the gate is unbelievable. As if that weren't a ridiculous charge, the days of "complimentary beverage service" have been replaced with "buy-aboard beverage service" so that one must pay $2 for a cup of water or $5 if you want to add peanuts. Ridiculous. I will not fly Frontier again."
Pros: "The crew from boarding to the flight were very good."
Cons: "There was no room for me at all in my seat. Im 6 foot 5. I think even if i would have paid the up charge to their stretch seating it wouldnt have mattered much. Also there is a charge for any refreshments during the flight. I have flown on other carriers and at least some of the refreshments are included in the flight."
Pros: "Everyone was professional and friendly."
Cons: "That I had to pay for our assigned seats. Then my daughter showed me how to avoid that for the return flight. It should have a statement saying to avoid an additional charges have the crew pick your seat for you."
Cons: "That my flight was cancelled for an unknown reason not weather related. Gate person overwhelmed and was not helpful. Had to pay out of pocket on another airline to get to Minneapolis in time."
Pros: "Smooth flight once got going."
Cons: "4 hour delay for "mechanical" - not much information given and missed getting rental car at destination because got there after midnight and they were closed. So cost us an additional $90 for cab and only got $50 voucher on Frontier."
Cons: "Email notification of a 3 hour flight delay 2 hours before flight but I was already on my way to the airport. Then the flight gets cancelled but no email notification was sent and the screen wasn't updated at the gate (the whole time I was there). If I hadn't come back to the gate during the long delay and asked a fellow passenger why they were in line, I wouldn't have known it was cancelled for a long time. The employees at the gate were helpful in refunding our tickets, etc. but overall, not happy with my experience with Frontier Airlines."
Pros: "super kind flight attendants."
Cons: "thirty minutes delayed on an already-late (9:55 pm) flight. Kept us on the tarmac upon arrival for another 30 minutes. Frontier charged a stupid amount for a carry-on ($45) because my bag was a half inch longer than what they allowed. Insane."
Cons: "The seats"
Cons: "Took too late to get plane had to wait 1/2 hour for jetway to connect to plane and another 1/2 for luggage."
Cons: "We were delayed, but that happens. What I really didn't like is that after arriving at 120 am it took them 30 minutes to get the jet bridge hooked up and get us off the plane. The crew did not do a good job of keeping us informed. We were to the gate almost right away it and then waited and waited. Then we had to walk up the jet bridge with no lights on. Once we got to the baggage claim it still took another 20 minutes for the bags to come. Also, the seats are not like they used to be. With the carryon bag fee it ends up being about as expensive as much better airlines. I won't plan to fly Frontier again."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable, and able to laugh at themselves when they forgot where we were landing. It was fun that they were able to laugh at themselves WITH us at that time. Nobody is perfect, but the crew was enjoyable!!"
Cons: "The usual... silly little kids in the seat in front that wasn't willing to keep his feet out of the isle and his game was on full volume for a while, until his caregiver told him to shut off the volume."
Cons: "Pilots were 50 minutes late"
Pros: "We were a little late getting boarded, but we still got in right on time. Quick flight, friendly staff."
Cons: "Same as above comment. I learned valuable lesson: I feel ripped off by a cheap flight with sneaky fees for usual airfare inclusions. No more Frontier for me. The only good quality about your airline is the animal portraits on the planes."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing."
Cons: "The website was down when I was trying to check in online, so I had to pay $40 per bag instead of $30. it was still down a week later when I was returning home, so I called the contact number to pay for my bags, which took half hour. They do not provide free beverages, you must pay $1.99 for a soda or water. They nickel and dime you to death. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and do not recline. Worst airline I have ever experienced, and I have flown over 100 times. Skip Frontier and pay the additional cost for a better airline, or you will have regrets!"
Pros: "the crew was courteous and professional"
Cons: "i'm sure i'm not the first person to say this but the add on charges (luggage, seat choice) are a little annoying in that they aren't just presented as part of the ticket price. Like couldnt the ticket price say 'the ticket will be between 140 and 200 dollars depending on baggage and seat choice'"
Pros: "The crew was fantastic - fun, energetic, helpful, and not pushy."
Cons: "The turbulence was pretty awful, which I know isn't always the pilot's fault, but there wasn't any explanation for it. The landing was actually one of the scariest landings I have ever experienced and it would have been nice to hear why this was happening."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Dirty, filthy plane. Garbage visible on the floor while walking down the aisle to my seat. Charged extra even for a can of pop & the price for the ticket wasn't cheap."
Pros: "The price! It was very affordable. If you know what your getting into with Frontier--and are willing the extra/hidden fees (baggage, snacks, etc.) it can be a good choice for some flights."
Pros: "Efficient process Clean airplane Timeliness"
Cons: "Do not like having to pay such extraordinarily high prices for bags. Also the website was very inefficent. I had already selected seats and paid for them, yet when I would try to access the reservation, it did not show that I had done this. Additionally, I had to extend my stay and was unable to make a modification to my reservation on the website, as I was encouraged to do by Spirit. I logged into "My Trips" yet at no time was there ever a link to make a flight change. Really disappointing considering I had very little time to spend doing this due to a family member being in the process of dying."
Pros: "Now that I can bring one carry-on for free I am a happy lady. I know what to expect from Spirit and have never had any delayed flights, problem with seating or unfriendly staff. The flight crew was very thorough with their announcements and expectations. There were many empty seats on the flight and the crew was clear in announcing that once we are up in the air, folks could switch seats and spread out - which about 1/4 of the flight customers did! It was much more comfortable then. No complaints."
Pros: "Like the a la cart options pertaining to seat selection, security fast pass and cleanliness of the plane."
Cons: "Seats are rather uncomfortable and cramped compared to other airlines, especially noticeable when the flight is for more than an hour or two. The small panel that is referred to as a tray table is more like the size of an ashtray so forget about using your laptop in flight. They have not updated their policy as other larger airlines regarding mobile phones (must be in airplane mode). The flights are commonly delayed (no weather issues). If you look at the departure screens, only Spirit was delayed and included about 70% of their flights. And the baggage policy is a bit confusing as they consider my backpack and satchel as two carry on bags and asked me to combine them prior to boarding."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 50 minutes to begin with and we did get plenty of warning, I got an email in the morning stating my evening flight was delayed 50 minutes so I was prepared. But throughout the day I continued to get emails pushing the departure time back further and by the time I arrived at the airport it was a full 2 hours delayed. SUPER crowded gate area with multiple flights being asked to wait in one area, those flights were either delayed or canceled. Should have known better and paid a bit extra for a more reliable airline!"
Pros: "The flight crew was polite and attended to my needs and they were actually funny."
Cons: "I did not like the limited food selections and the small portions that were served. Also, I always like it when the pilot informs you of the area of the country you are flying over. For example I recently took a flight from Las Vegas Nevada to Melbourne Florida and that pilot on Delta explained where landmarks were all along the way. That is something comforting about a pilot connecting with his crew and the people aboard the flight. So I would really like that if Spirit would include that. Additionally I do like onboard entertainment but maybe the fares would have to reflect that."
Pros: "Flight attendants were great!"
Cons: "The outtageous baggage fees, and fees for every little thing was frustrating... I was not the only one either, just in the time in line waiting to check in, I was multiple people be caught off guard by the fees and seem frustrated. Seats do not lean back, interior of plane, very bare minimum. But it is an economy flight. This would be an airline to take if you just have a small backpack and no luggage whatsoever. Otherwise with luggage it is a much better deal and more comfortable to fly other airlines. Won't fly Spirit again."
Pros: "Tickets were super cheap! Kiosk check-in was a breeze, as was boarding. The plane felt pretty new, with comfy seats and decent leg room. The crew were professional and courteous, and many snack and drink options were available.. Any additional costs were very well indicated, in kiosk check-in, as well as the in-flight snack menu. Minor delay was well documented and announced (national ATC issue slowed the plane's arrival 15 minutes; accounting for that 15 minute shift, everything else ran on schedule)."
Cons: "Nothing is included. In exchange for those super cheap tickets, anything beyond the "one personal item" is charged a la carte, so plan to pay for any additional carryons, any luggage, seat choice, any (ANY) drink, snack, water, coffee, soda (but at least they seem to take plastic)."
Cons: "I had a prepaid direct flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis leaving at 10:40 a.m. Showed up at 10:05 & was told that I missed my flight. I said "but my flight doesn't leave until 10:40." They said: "yes, but your check-in time is 45 minutes before the plane departs". I said: "but no one told me this." They said: "It's on our website." That's terrible customer service in my book & a con on unsuspecting consumers. There should be a class action lawsuit on disclosures like that. Another couple ahead of me in line had the exact same thing happen to them! I booked another flight on Southwest Airlines without incident but have apparently lost my prepaid fare to fly on Spirit Airliner. They offered to fly me out the next day for a $99 rebooking fee but that cost almost as much as flying Southwest plus I would have to book a hotel or wait overnight. Terrible experience. Never again."
Cons: "They nickel and dime you for everything. By the time you've paid $42 for a bag (or a carry on), the ticket price is the same as the next cheapest flight. If you don't print your boarding pass at home, that is $10; if your bag is too heavy, that is an extra $30; if you want water on the plane, that is extra; if you want a seat assignment, that costs extra. 45 minutes before we landed the flight attendant went on a sales pitch about getting a Spirit credit card. It was unbelievable. Oh, and the seats don't recline at all. I will NEVER fly this airline again."
Cons: "I was running late because I got out of work late and then there was unusually terrible traffic from DC to Baltimore mid-day. The website wouldn't work to check in, the phone line had a 2 hour wait.. so I got to the airport 45 minutes before the flight was supposed to leave and I couldn't check in at the kiosk. By the time I waited in line, they wouldn't check me in with 30 minutes before the flight left, even though it was mid day so the security lines were short and I had TSA pre-check. The customer service agent, the manager and the manager's supervisor were all rude and unhelpful. The only flight was the next day, so they wouldn't re-book on any other airline.. so I was left to go buy another ticket from American as I had to be in Minneapolis that night. I don't recommend Spirit out of Baltimore to anyone."
Pros: "Crew were jovial and witty"
Cons: "Being charged for every ounce of baggage. Nightmare queues at bag drop and security"
Pros: "There was absolutely nothing positive about this flight with Spirit airline."
Cons: "There was three desperate delays of our flight without any reason given. There were no customer service reps anywhere to be found during these delays to talk to. The gate at Logan airport for Spirit airlines is seperate from the rest of the airport so if you wanted to get any food or drinks you had to exit the gate and go through security again to get back in. None of the seats on the plane recline so you are sitting straight up in very uncomfortable chairs the entire flight. All of the power strips that were attached to the seats in the gate didn't work so you could charge your phone if you needed to. Also, on top of it all when you call customer service to file a complaint you wait on hold for 45 minutes and then they tell you to go to the website to file a complaint! What a joke of an airline. I will never fly with Spirit again no matter what."
Pros: "Nothing. It never happened seeing as I never made it to Los Angeles"
Cons: "They emailed me at almost 11pm the evening before my 6 am flight stating that my flight had been cancelled with no reasoning. The website they guided to me showed my flight as still active. I then found a phone number to call which took 80+minutes to get a representative. She didn't even have the update showing that the flight had been cancelled. She told me to call back in 15 minutes. I told her that was assenine seeing that it would take another hour. The system finally updated. She was able to offer me a flight not on Friday at all but Saturday afternoon/evening. Taking over 30 hoursaway from my vacation. I asked to have my money refunded. They obliged but couldn't refund the 40 some dollars from the 3rd party sight which I booked through when clicking book on kayak. My whole weekend was ruined. Horrible."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "The customer service is absent, we had to wait in the plane almost an hour after we landed because our docking station had a plane in it still (really poor planning like are you serious), the whole bag situation is COMPLETELY a rip off I packed a carry on small suitcase that I have flown with many times and when I got there to check in it said carry on bags were $55?!?!? And to check a bag it was $50 that I had no choice but to pay. The cheap tickets Spirit offers are just so sneaky because you end up paying so much in the end. Spirit is the worst airline."
Pros: "Punctuality."
Cons: "Hostesses were loud and had the most horrible screeching voices I've ever heard."
Pros: "Crew onboard were great, helpful, smiling and accommodating."
Cons: "Spirit Gate crew at LAX were terrible, rude, and condescending. I brought a "personal item" which is a laptop case with wheels and I was pulled out of line and marched to the gate desk where I was informed that it was too large to be a personal item and that I had to pay $100 to bring it on the plane. I said that I had been using this particular laptop case for years on multiple airlines and then fit it into the test receptacle provided but still had to pay the $100. I asked why not charge me the $40 for a carry-on and was told that was online only and that it's $100 at the gate. I have the Spirit credit card and mileage program, but did not feel like "a member of the Spirit family" and was ripped off."
Cons: "I didn't like anything. Will never book with Kayak or spirit. My flight from Chicago to Minneapolis was cancelled and I have still not got my refund. Pathetic!"
Pros: "I guess if I were to say anything good about spirit it would be that the boarding went smoothly. I guess? About the same as any other airline."
Cons: "The was my first experience with sprit and will never use this airline again. They say, you get what you pay for. Really? Rude staff included? Both of our flights were overnight flights. People are tired and most of the time are going to try and get comfortable and maybe sleep? No way was that happening with how extremely small this plane was. I am an "average" size 28 year old female and I felt that I couldn't move at all. I can't imagine this flight being comfortable for anyone, of any size. I wasn't going to judge this airline on that alone, but of course, what everyone warns you of, delays. Delays on BOTH flights. So inconvenient for not only us but family members who are planning on picking us up. I will go ahead and remind you that people say, you get what you pay for. We each paid 350, not including the 152 dollars for seat selecting and baggage, and an extra 30 for oversized luggage. Seriously?! That is NOT cheap when compared to delta which allows a FREE carry on, checked bag for 25 bucks, some actual leg room, and a friendly staff. Never again. Super disappointed."
Pros: "No delays, orderly boarding, flight went smoothly."
Cons: "Spirit charges you for EVERYTHING extra, including just choosing a seat. The problem I had was with bags. They are very expensive, less so if you join their frequent flyer-type club, which I did. I decided one of us would not bring a carry-on to save money. At the airport it appeared our one carry-on was actually small enough to be a "personal item," but there was no way to remove the charge that I had already paid. I wanted to remove it for the return trip, as well, but there is NO WAY to do that on the website. Their justification is not to create delays at the airport, but that doesn't make any sense. To make a long story short, I paid for bags and a club I didn't need."
Pros: "The crew were perfectly nice and had no problems."
Cons: "The flight was oversold and I found the gate agents to be difficult to work with. I purchased my ticket in advance and made it to the airport 2 hours early to check-in and was still not given a seat assignment. I was told 3 different times that there were enough volunteers and I would be on the flight. Those volunteers were told they were not needed and the gate agents told us, the remaining passengers "too bad, this happens, they have seats, you don't." I have worked with many gate agents and though I know there job is stressful, never have I encountered such rudeness and condescension. Also in all the disorganization, the flight left even later than the scheduled delay and people that boarded had to wait until the gate agents figured out the seat arrangements. I was willing to forgo comfort and amenities for price but this disorganization and failed customer service is unacceptable."
Cons: "My 96 year old mother's Spirit 342 flight from Phoenix to Minneapolis on Feb 2, 2017 was delayed. Things happen and that's life. However, after hearing from my sister in Minneapolis her flight was delayed I attempted to call Spirit Airlines to get the rescheduled information. I tried many, many times and was not able to speak with a Spirit customer service agent. In fact, there was no option on the Spirit phone message to press a number to speak with an agent. I ended up calling the Phoenix Skyharbor Security who sent an employee over to Terminal 2, Gate 2 to look for my mother. She was not found after checking Gate 2 and several other gates. The scheduled 3:07pm departure was rescheduled to depart at 5:30pm which I found out around 7:00 pm Phoenix time. This was a frightening experience for our family given my mother's age of 96 years. Fortunately, my mother was OK. She stated she and everyone else stood in line at the Spirit counter for 1 1/2 hours waiting for departure information. There was an agent at the counter but he/she did not provide any departure information let alone the reason(s) for the delayed flight. It would have been helpful to everyone held up by the delay to have been given an honest reason for the delay. It seems reasonable that Spirit would at least offer a phone number to speak with an agent who could provide information. (The Spirit website indicated Flight 342 was rescheduled to the next morning (Feb 3) with a departure of 8:00 am. This incorrect information complicated the whole situation). We will never put my mother on another Spirit flight and will think very carefully about using Spirit Airlines again."
Pros: "In purchasing a Spirit flight I am aware that no "frills" are included. I expect uncomfortable seats, no free snacks or drinks, and staff that is generally less professional. You get what you pay for. And the price matches the service."
Cons: "I live two hours from the airport I departing from. My flight was early in the morning, so I made plans to leave for the airport with plenty of time to make it to the airport. Unfortunately due to blizzard conditions, I knew I would be unable to safely make it to the airport by the time my flight would take off. I called customer service, during my first call I was hung up on, so I called again. The operator tried to tell me that he didn't see any weather conditions that should have prevented me from making it to the airport so he wouldn't help me transfer my flights. I was made to cancel my original departing flight and purchase a new departing flight, for twice the cost of what I had originally paid for my round trip flight. The only decent thing the operator did for me what waive the flight cancellation fee. I understand fees and charges to keep other flights as cheap as possible, however, at some point your customer service should accommodate your fliers when its extenuating circumstances. Highly disappointed. Unlikely to fly with them again."
Pros: "That was the most turbulent flight I have ever been on, even in a small aircraft. When we were landing in MSP we encountered severe winds and the pilot had to make and abort 2 landing attempts. On the third attempt we were able to land. I've never been on an airplane where so many people were throwing up before! The pilot handled the difficult winds, and massive snowstorm perfectly and I absolutely can't thank him enough. I can't believe we didn't get diverted to Chicago or crash. The flight attendants and other crew are in very good spirits considering the airline they are working for."
Cons: "Spirit s luggage weight allowance is 10 pound less than the other airlines. That makes it difficult to pack winter clothing and boots. Their baggage fees are also higher than other airlines, but you can carry less! The "bare fare" is incredibly annoying, they even charge you for water on the airplane. There is no food available, or maybe one small snack. The seats are so small. I'm 5 feet 4 inches tall and weigh 120 pounds and I feel uncomfortable I can't imagine what a tall or average sized person goes through. The seats are so incredibly hard like you are sitting on a wooden bench. This is one of those cases where you really get what you pay for - a low price comes with a lot of discomfort and frustration. I would never fly on this airline on a flight over 4 hours. The suffering would not be worth saving money. The staff does their best to treat you kindly but you can plainly see they are dealing with difficult circumstances and being pushed to their breaking point. They have to deal with so many miserable, uncomfortable people. I feel bad for them."
Pros: "The flights themselves were adequate, glad I am only 5'8" or it would be very uncomfortable for a larger person."
Cons: "The hidden carry on fees being added at time of departure are deceptive. As a first time Spirit Airlines customer I fell into their business model and was trapped into paying $55 each way for my carry on bags. All attempts to discuss with the ground crew and customer service my disappointment and request for a refund were met with delays and deception hoping I would give up on getting my $110 back for the hidden carry on fee. At this juncture I am disputing the charges with my credit card company and will have to see what happens."
Pros: "Very cheap flight! Nice attendants. Good pilot. I seriously didn't even feel the touchdown. I never experienced that before!"
Cons: "I was lucky enough to only be traveling with a small backpack - which is good - because if you didn't pre-pay for a carry-on, we were told by the gate agent it would be $65. And if you didn't come up and pay the $65 - it would be $100 when you boarded! What?! All economy seats are small now but at least they recline a little. These didn't - and they're smaller. The most painful flight I've ever had (only 6 feet tall) - the seat is stick straight! if you have a carry-on and especially luggage - just pay the extra for another airline. The price will definitely even out and you'll get a seat you can actually breath in! At one point they were trying to sell so many extras I thought they were going to start a time-share pitch. So unless you just have a back pack or purse - stick with another airline."
Cons: "The flight was overbooked and I was the extra passenger. The last passenger before me was from Africa and was unable to pay the $100 for the second bag she had at the gate. Your staff did not allow her in board, hence I made it. Your staff showed absolutely no empathy with the passenger, parroting that she had to pay otherwise she couldn't get on and at the stroke of 7:45am, they printed my ticket. The supervisor was just plane ride to her and me for interceding on her part. It was appalling to see such un-American hospitality! Spirit Airlines should be ashamed of such employee behavior."
Cons: "Tried to print tickets at kiosk at 6:15 pm for flight departure at 7 pm. Told to see an agent. Agent said check in time ended at 6:05. It was now 6:17, so it was closed and we couldn't get tickets. Could take a morning flight for one penny charge. We still had 27 minutes before departure. Asked to talk to manager. 5 minutes later, she reluctantly issued our tickets but said "we still may not make the flight." Security was very short, and we made it 10 minutes before departure. I will never again fly Spirit. This was the ultimate in poor custumer service. Also, we were never given an opportunity to check in on line and self print our tickets. Usually I receive an email 24 hrs ahead of departure day for opportunity to check in and print tickets. Did not receive an email prior to day of departure, and no where on my itinerary did it say that check in ended at 6:05. Never again. Will tell all about our experience. What a crock. You lost my business and my fiancee's as well."
Cons: "This shouldn't be under a cheap category. Considering that I had a carry on, I ended up paying and additional $120 for baggage. On my return flight I sat next to someone who for sure was on some sort of methamphetamine or heavy upper and could not sit still for a moment. or stop scratching herself. There is no phone line at all that gets you to a human to speak to... at all! So asking for specific flight details was impossible. To get a bottle of water on a 5.5 hour flight was $3 which is inappropriate. The seats do not recline and are small. If you do not pay for you carry on a head of time they will charge you $100 which is basically robbery. I will never fly spirit ever again."
Pros: "The staff were friendly"
Cons: "The website wouldn't let me check in my bag prior to arriving to the airport. Tried multiple times and kept getting an error. Spoke with an agent upon arrival, showed her my screen and she suggested I do it again. Which produced the same result. They ended up charging me the online price anyway, because it wasn't working. I had two rather large folks in my row and immediately asked the flight attendant if I could move, he told me maybe, but probably not until after take off. He then moved two other folks into the row adjacent to me which caused the original gentleman sitting there to get up and move to a row without three people in it. Seemed kind of rude for him, he offered me his seat since I'd asked. I declined as I figured the attendant would get back to me. He did approach me later and said I could move into the only other open seat in the other row, but I didn't want those folks to feel put out. I was going to ask to move to a different row adjacent as there was only 1 gentleman there, but the attendant had already left. On other airlines, once the door is closing anyone can move or trade and wasn't sure why it was such an issue for me or for anyone. I felt I was hanging out in the aisle for 2.5 hours while touching hips and arms with my seat mate."
Cons: "These flights would be alright if you have no luggage. A lot of people were told they had to pay for smaller bags at the gate just because they had wheels. And it was an extra $100 per bag at the gate. The only thing that goes on free is a backpack or purse. Otherwise it's $50 right away when you check-in, which they were letting a lot through saying you'd be alright, or $65 before zone 1 is called and $100 there after, this goes for each flight. And as I said, most people got stuck with the $100 because they were initially told they'd be fine at check-in but when they went to board they were told otherwise. There were also issues with scanning tickets and a few people had to step out of line and get new ones. I personally would never fly this airline unless I had no other choice. Spend the extra little bit of money on a better airline; in the long run you will save a good chunk of change."
Pros: "The entertainment was very good from the stewardesses"
Cons: "I came in to Los Angeles LAX to board spirit proceeded to contact a spirit checker I am going to assume he was tired was very rude he was in a conversation with another passenger for whatever reason he was not happy once the conversation was over I approached him to ask him about the flight to Minnesota is this the right gate he basically said am I going to Denver I said no to Minnesota he said if you're not going to Denver you need to go and sit down I asked him I needed to know if this was the gate I need to be at again he stated go to a different spirit checker and asked them me and the people behind me just look at each other .very unprofessional I was just as tired and frustrated as he was for whatever reason he was frustrated and keep in mind please I had my one year-old and was trying to check in the stroller and the car seat"
Pros: "There wasn't much to like on this flight... it was pretty disappointing."
Cons: "All the hidden/ extra costs. It adds up to more than what any other airline would have costed and the service was worse. They lost my bag on the way there. They take FOREVER to get the bags to the baggage carousel (even when they make everyone pay extra to check a bag - but not as much to carry on a bag... you do the math). The flight was also delayed by 35 min. Once we got to our home airport, it took another 30+ minutes to even open the door so we could all get off the plane. It then took another 30 minutes once we all got down to the baggage carousel for the first bag to even come out of the baggage carousel."
Pros: "Both flights boarded fast and left on time or early. I liked that I got everything I would normally get with a Delta flight for a lot less money. Sure they charge for drinks but I'd rather pay $3.50 for a coke than pay $150 to get it free on Delta. Seats were snug but so are Delta and American seats on most flights so I'm used to that and it was comfortable. And very cheap to upgrade to exit aisle or business class if more room is needed - which I did on the flight home because I had to work on my laptop. Staff was GREAT!"
Cons: "Tray tables are very small. Not enough room to work on laptop unless you upgrade to business class or exit aisle. Little armrest room so be prepared to rub arms with your neighbors. Don't make us listen to ads for your credit card promo. Hate when airlines do that because we are paying to be there and shouldn't be subjected to ads we can't get away from."
Pros: "I did end up getting a partial refund.. But I did have to argue a little bit for it."
Cons: "My flight was cancelled, due to weather? Other airlines flights around same time were not cancelled, although there were some delays. I'm not quite sure why my flight was cancelled. I recieved no email/call telling me about the cancellation. I looked online to check my flight status and found out by myself that it was cancelled. So I called in and waited for a representative to help me, who said the only thing they could do was move me to the next flight, which was the following day, 18 hours later from my original flight. After I decided that was way too late, i called back in to see if I could get an earlier flight instead, and was told I would have to pay a fee for changing my cancelled flight a second time, which is ridiculous. I eventually had to argue a little bit but ended up getting a partial refund of the round-trip ticket, as I am still going to use the return flight to come back. Overall, I really did not like having to find out myself about the cancelled flight, i did not like Spirit airlines' solution to the problem, I did not like that they wanted me to pay extra to change the cancelled flight, I did not like that they initially refused my refund request. From the time I realized my flight was cancelled to the time the issue was finally resolved, i had spent over an hour, which makes the experience very negative. The only positive is that I did eventually get a partial refund, even though it was less than half of the total price of the flight ticket."
Pros: "The flight it self was ok very friendly flight attendants"
Cons: "When checking in could not choose my seats when I was checking in my luggage took way to long the person that was assisting me seemed very in knowledgable clueless to be honest told me that the person at the gate would help with the seating she could not give me a receipt for checking in my luggage when I got to the gate the gentleman there told me that I would have to hold back and see if there even be a seat for me at all that the flight was very full I book my flights a month in advance that was the last thing I wanted to hear was getting very upset than another gentleman came over and assigned me our seats so over all I would give them a D+ at the best guess I just expected more professional company hope the return flight goes better"
Pros: "When it was over."
Cons: "Every possible thing that allows for convenient travel Spirit has conveniently reversed. Paying for a carryon bag is one thing but having to pay an extra 20 dollars if you do it in person is ludicrous. Not being able to pay cash is crazy. Having issues with the online system connecting with the overall Spirit airlines system was crazy and kept e on the phone for almost 2 hours. After two hours I still had no solid solution and had to take my chances and trust that communication was had between the call center and the spirit airlines network. Terrible experience. Bad enough that I will NEVER fly spirit again. Good luck to the thrill seekers who try it."
Pros: "Walking on to the plane I was greeted by two flight attendants who were very freindly and making small talk with almost everyone who came onto the plane. The captain was also standing in the doorway to the cabin and was greeting passengers as they boarded. I noticed that the captain had brought two young children in to the cabin to show them the front of the plane, I didn't know that happened any more! I was VERY impressed and have never experinced such kindness and professionalism on a flight. Thank you for making the flight the best experience I've ever had on a major airline! Flight NK382 from Denver on Fri July 15, 2016. Blown away."
Cons: "When booking I did not know there were large additional fees. I have traveled alot and booked the flight, packed a carryon and thought I was good. WRONG, the day I was leaving j was told if I wanted to bring my carryon it was an additional 36.00 each way. Then I was asked to choose a seat which was another 10-30 dollars. I ended up stuffing all my items into a duffle bag that fit under the seat to avoid fees and had the airline just asign a seat. But the ride was extremely rough because of storms, I asked if I could have water and was told it would be 3.00 I was so frustrated I opted to wait the additional hr for a beverage. I suggest anyone planning on using this airline be aware that the prices are good if you don't want to bring anything and you can provide your own beverages and snacks."
Pros: "Although late, arrived at our destination."
Cons: "Was the gate under construction? It was difficult to get off the plane, having to maneuver down the ramp, outside and up 2-flights of stairs. I did not hear anyone inform the passengers about the condition of the gate, nor was anything said about arriving late to get to connecting flight. I asked a flight attendant as I was getting off, only to be told the same plane was continuing on to MSP, but I had to deplane for cleaning. Once inside it was so crowded and no organization: it was shoulder to shoulder and people were squeezing in and out of the crowd to get to where they needed to be. Finally able to get back on the plane, going down 2-flights of steps to the tarmac to the ramp, etc. ugh; I've recently had back surgery and continue to have back pain. This was a painful transitional exercise that affected me immediately and for days afterward."
Pros: "The main flight attendant kept saying how much better Delta is than Spirit, so don't expect much, which was funny the first time, but then it got obnoxious. Whatever--people seemed to think he was amusing."
Cons: "Ir order to print your boarding pass, you have to have an email address and password and pretty much sign up for their barrage of email messages. I don't think you can have them email your boarding pass to you, and if you don't have one, they charge you at the airport. With the $42 fee for suitcase (which I don't understand) I really think it's worth the extra money to fly a real airline. Also took longer than usual to get suitcases when we landed at MSP. Oh, and they're so cheap they didn't post the flight number by the gate, and it was a half hour late leaving."
Pros: "My second row seat was quite spacious"
Cons: "Flight was delayed for over three hours. Then once on board we were constantly told how many minutes until we would be leaving then sat there probably 20 minutes past that time. Overall I was probably sitting around for three times the actual length of my flight. They gave everyone a $50 voucher for their troubles which was nice, but it has used to book within the next two months. Seriously? I really do not even want to fly Spirit again ever and now they are giving me a time constraint to make up for their inadequacies. Terrible airline."
Cons: "I was told to take all of the stickers off my bag before checking it in or the bag would be lost. I took the stickers off the back for the first time in 5 years of global travel and for the first time, the bag was lost for 3 days. I personally think the person checking in my bag did not like me and intentionally lost my bag. We will never no. As a result I had to purchase $341.86 worth of safety equipment so I could start the job I was on. I never received a refund for my baggage fee. I was not reimbursed for my time and money spend to cover the losses after the airlines failure. I would fly the airline again as long as I was not checking bags."
Cons: "Be careful flying with Spirit. Their policy is that you pay a very small base rate, with no frills whatsoever. The seats don't even recline at all. Baggage fees (even when paid online ahead of time) are very costly. You don't even get in-flight water for free. I can't tell you how many customers were upset any complaining about various aspects of the surprise costs associated with this airline; I'd imagine all over the country every day Spirit is causing frustration to hundreds or thousands of people. Would not recommend."
Cons: "Spirit airline unfortunately does not know what customer service means... Check in staff rolls their eyes, refuse to help and gets upset when asked questions. Then they say "it's more important to get the plane taken care of then deal with the bags"... Back story, almost 2 hours waiting for my checked bag... Every time we asked someone for info or help they took off and hid. The manager was not helpful and there customer service call in line was rude, and can't get anyone to call back. This coming from a person who believes in killing with kindness.... If u need help/info u better be nice. I approach in a very kind understanding fashion and still treated like I'm a horrible person who doesn't matter. I'd rather pay a little extra money for a plane ticket and be treated like a person."
Cons: "My flight was delayed due to weather. They didn't notify anyone there was any sort of delay until after the flight was supposed to depart. Then they announced the flight Cancelled shortly after. There was no staff at any of the desks to help people rebook flights so we were all just standing there wondering what to do. Finally one lady came and had to help two flights worth of people rebook. Was in line for almost an hour. When I returned the next day they made me repay for all my overweight checked bags."
Pros: "Friendly staff"
Cons: "There's a a rule that states you can't check in after 45 minutes before your flight. That's annoying and unnecessary. I've ran late before with other airlines, but was able to check in and easily go get on the plane. Even if I didn't make it though because going through security took too long, what's the problem with the agents at the gate having to look for my next flight option? Because of this rule and me running behind for my 9:10 am flight, I missed it, and I had to wait 10 hours in the airport for the next one. Next time I fly, I will be avoiding Spirit airlines if it comes up as an option."
Cons: "I asked for a flight to Minneapolis from Chicago I booked the flight and found out that the flight was from Minneapolis to Chicago. I tried to cancel it and get a refund. That's where my nightmare began. I ended up with 2 flights and then cancelling because it just wasn't worth. I wanted to go visit my son who is incarcerated and wanted to go for a 1 day visit.(ON HIS BIRTHDAY) APRIL 3. If I would have gone I would have only been able to see him for 2 hours. Instead I got screwed out of $120.00. NO flight and NO visitation because you kept my money."
Cons: "Traffic jam got me to the airport late. I was one of the last to check-in for the flight, and despite arriving at the gate prior to boarding, I was not given a seat assignment and told that I'd have to wait for someone else to give up their spot as the flight was oversold. I waited along with an annoying Charles Manson type strung out on something while they boarded every other passenger and another 20 minutes beyond that to receive my flight assignment. Finally I board and am greeted with attitude by the flight attendants (oh hello, we've been WAITING for you) and assigned the middle spot on this red eye between the Charlie Manson and a morbidly obese guy. Both invaded my minimal personal space, falling asleep, deafening snoring, and crashing into me every 30 seconds for 3 hours straight (red-eye flight), F**k spirit airlines, f**k them up their stupid asses."
Cons: "Unfortunately, I should have asked around in advance: everything is add-on in cost, so there are prices for an additional carry-on and a steep price for checked luggage. Beverages and the like are also an extra charge, as is choosing your own seat (which, if you are traveling with a family, is just ridiculous). The seating is hugely tight (if you want to pick your seats, it's $10 for each and $25 for any imaginably decent leg room--I say this as a very short person; anyone of average height would be miserable)."
Pros: "I found an excellent price to Phoenix, Their web site states CLEARLY the costs from baggage size, seats being non reclining and close, along with option of paying for roomier seat, On both flights it was not a full plane and I was able to move to the roomy seat in front of me, and the other flight I moved to an entire empty row. the flight crew were humorous along with informative.. If you can pack your things in a gym duffel bag this is the way to go. I'm glad this NO FRILLS airline was an option for a 58 year old female going to Arizona for a week ."
