FAQs for booking flights from Raleigh to Amman

  • Which conditions apply to the carriage of pets on this route?

Air Jordanian Airlines welcomes cats and dogs in the Economy cabin and checked baggage section. To fly with your pet in the under-seat stowage area of the economy cabin, make sure your pet's carrier does not exceed 19 x 15 x 10 inches. The maximum pet's weight is 15 lbs. Larger pets travel in the cargo hold. You have to sign a Live Animal Acceptance Checklist for PETC acceptance.

  • If I travel with my baby, must they sit on my lap?

Babies under two years typically stay on adult laps and fly for free. However, you may reserve an infant seat and pay for a ticket for your baby (same fare as for an adult). Infant seats are only allowed in window or middle (center section) seats.

  • What are my options for avoiding the seat selection fee?

Avoid the basic economy ticket if you want a free seat selection with American Airlines. But with elite status, you may choose any preferred seat or extra legroom. Alternatively, use miles to pay the applicable fee. Generally, window and aisle seats attract a higher selection fee, while middle seats are usually free.

  • What are the requirements for my carry-on bags?

In the economy cabin of Royal Jordanian, you are allowed to have one bag. In the Crown Class cabin, you can carry two bags. All carry-ons go below the seat in front of the overhead bin. The maximum weight is 15 lbs, while the size limit is 9 x 14 x 22 inches (small handbag) and 4 x 24 x 45 inches (unfolded suit pack). Small cameras, binoculars, and crutches are transported free of charge.

KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from Raleigh to Amman

  • The United States is an unrestricted country in Jordan, so you will get a visa on arrival at the point of entry – Queen Alia International Airport (AMM). Carry all the supporting documents: a bank statement, Jordan Pass, yellow fever certificate, Travel-To-Jordan declaration form, itinerary, an empty page on your passport for visa stamping, and visa fee. It can take up to an hour for the visa processing to be completed.
  • Maintaining your sleep schedule while on this long flight from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) helps minimize the effects of jet lag, which worsens when traveling east. Book a flight with an airline that offers LED lights imitating natural lighting. Qatar Airways' onboard lighting has sunrise and sunset settings, which helps your circadian rhythm adjust to the time zone shift.
  • Sleep any time you want in comfortable seats in a Crown Class flight with Royal Jordanian, which is equivalent to Business Class travel. Lie back and recline fully on the luxurious flatbed inside a cabin with lots of natural light and air. When you get to AMM airport, relax in the open-air Crown Class lounge, a level above the shopping area, while waiting for a taxi.
  • Add individual special assistance to your details when booking your flight with American Airlines. For accessible travel, request wheelchair assistance and indicate whether you have a mobility device or a service animal. Also, submit a special request 48 hours before the flight if you have a cognitive disability, vision, or hearing impairment.
  • Choosing an eco-friendly flight that reduces emissions and promotes sustainable travel can minimize the environmental impact. You will be pleased to know that single-use plastics are banned on 80% of Qatar Airways' food trays. Also, a large portion of unused food is redistributed instead of thrown away, and you'll find biodegradable toiletries in the lavatories.

They destroyed my baby’s stroller and the seats was broken

I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with any type of airline, they destroyed my baby’s baby stroller, that cost more than 2000$,the seats in a 13 hour flight was broken,so I definitely not recommend that airline for other people

The flight was delayed which cost me to missed my connection flight.

The planes are very cold. The AC is too much.

It was great honestly the cabin crew were warm and welcoming everything was perfect the food was nice.

Didn’t like anything about the flight: I am so frustrated at this point. Since 8 days I have been dealing with your customer service regarding my seat changes. I paid $51.10 for extra legroom seats and one fine morning I get an email that my seats have been changed. I tried to contact the customer service and they have been just fooling me around stating that my issue will be resolved. Saudia is the worst airline. Pathetic. On the day of my travel, I came at the counter and the guy told me that my seat assigned is 36A and my wife’s seat is different. He then changed my seats to 33A which is not at all a extra legroom seats. I asked the person is these seats are extra legroom he said yes and when I came to the aircraft I am sitting in a normal seat. The TCR Shameer Ansari or Sameeri Ansari came and did nothing telling me that he tried his best find a solution. I need someone to contact me ASAP and I need a refund for the entire flight. I don’t need your Al Fursan points they are worthless. Contact me ASAP.

I recently flew with Saudi Arabian Airlines, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff were exceptionally polite, professional, and attentive throughout the journey. Check-in was smooth and well-organized, and boarding was efficient and on time. The cabin was spotless and comfortable, with plenty of legroom and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The in-flight service was top-notch — meals were delicious and offered with generous portions, and the crew made sure every passenger was well taken care of. I also appreciated the wide range of entertainment options, including movies, music, and TV shows in multiple languages. The flight was punctual, and the overall experience reflected the airline’s strong commitment to hospitality and passenger satisfaction. Without a doubt, I’d highly recommend Saudia to anyone traveling within the region or internationally. Their service quality easily matches — and often surpasses — many top global airlines. I’m looking forward to flying with them again! ⸻ Would you like me to tailor it for a specific flight route or class (e.g., Economy, Business, Jeddah–Washington DC)? I can make it sound even more personal or detailed.

It was a disaster. The crew was so rude and had no professionalism. She dropped something onto the floor, then took it from the floor and put it into the food tray. Also, when she got some spilling, she went straight to the toilet, got some tissue and started cleaning the food trolley

I cant wait for planes to have shorter rows with more space! otherwise, all fine thankyou

I was fully checked in the prior night and i was unchecked and then didn’t have a seat when I boarded. Instead of an aisle seat, I was out in the middle seat of the very last row of the plane.

In overall it was a good experience, the only down point was that the entertainment screen was working properly.

HORRIBLE, my initial flight was cancelled, they made me pay $200 extra dollars and that got cancelled as well! After 6 cancellations I decided to get a refund because I needed to get home to my babies. Out of $1000+ dollars they offered me only $40 in refund! Totally unacceptable! The flight that they cancelled I was able to fly it on another airline. I had to spend $400 on one way tickets just to get home! I’m still getting the runaround.

First class ticket gets you a choice of chips or nuts. . Just like economy Southwest. Also no screen in the seats. This is first class???!

Seated dude next to me even though lots of empty rows. But main thing was we sat on the tarmac after landing for 30 minutes because of, in the words of the dude who sat next to me, “operational incompetence”. We got changing directions about where to pick up gate checked bags. Pilot and flight attendant were awesome though.

The food was terrible this time. Otherwise pleasant, quiet, on-time.

It was a pretty standard flight... until the almost hour and a half spent on the taxi way. I get that the weather has been poor but the delay had nothing to do with the weather and more to do with a plane with several issues tying up the gate. I get that that happens from time to time but this has been EVERY flight I've been on for the past 5 years and I fly 3 to 5 times a year. This isn't just United... it's American, it's Delta. It's an issue with the entire industry. I work for UPS and packages on a cargo plane get better service than people do these days. Anymore I HATE flying.

Flight arrived 30 min early and bag was waiting at the baggage pickup. United Club HNL was one of the nicest in the system

Unfortunately weather delayed our flight waiting for our plane to arrive and due to a little snow time was needed to deice the plane so departure was very delayed and I missed the connecting flight

Very good. Because of the delays with my previous flight, I missed my connection, but I was able to book another flight through the United app easily.

My, Syed Zawar Hussein Shirazi frequently flyer membership number was not included on my boarding pass from O’Hare to Istanbul despite my reminder to the attendant at check in. Further she forgot to give me my boarding pass form Istanbul to Lahore and she needs to improve her customer service, please 🙏

Everything about that day was great I was happy with how things went as a first time traveling with the airline thank you for all that you’ve doing by taking us there to our various destinations thanks.

They oversold the tickets by one which was my ticket so I didn’t have a ticket till last second

Not good. I was supposed to be in Mint but got in economy class

Service was slow and checked bag was off last evening when flying business

Turkish Airline canceled our tickets in the very last minute, with our luggage and everything else, all prepared and good to go. It’s clear that they sold the tickets for better money to someone else. Bad, Bad, Bad business!!!

Awful seating. Bad food. Staff only have one bottle of water and no cans.

it was like a banya -so hot... They did provide a great experience with special food. one toilet broke midflight In general it was a peaceful and relaxing flight - for business class it was good.

Chicago to Istanbul was a much better experience than I expected since I’m more accustomed to Qatar Airways business class. The business lounge in the Istanbul airport was amazing - loved the lockers and phone charging stations, and the bathroom was a spa experience in itself. The onward leg from Istanbul to Karachi was utterly disappointing. Terrible plane, and I felt like I was in economy - the seats don’t come near to lying flat and the food was mediocre. What a sad downgrade - it isn’t as though the ticket on that leg was cheaper. So, on that front, there’s no contest with Qatar airways.

Second leg of Turkish Airline with Indigo is disaster for following reason. 1) You have to carry your cabin bags through ladder to boeing 777 because it was parked somewhere in parking lot and was not given a gate to board passengers and this seems to be people traveling to and fro from those flights and is not issue with flight itself. 2) I choose non vegetarian food on Turkish portal way ahead of checkin to entire trip, However the Indigo flight gave me random veg food saying they code veg food code from Turkish. 3) Indigo did not served any alcoholic beverages stating some weird reason which is non nonsensical. 4)Indigo have TV screens in front of you but it displays nothing except "Welcome Onboard" with annoying white black ground in dark flight. This is the most stupidest and annoying part because you are held hostage for 7 hours and only thing you could do is stare back at white screen which does not have entertainment package or even flight tracker. Such a shame.

Crew was apathetic, in seat hardware was old and barely functional, WiFi (which I paid for) didn’t work for half the flight (I was refunded). They gave 2 meals on a 13 hr flight, whereas Etihad gave 3.

Awful, they made us rebook a ticket (out of our own pocket) because of a missed connection.

We were waiting at the counter for over an hour. Then they moved all employees to the inside. At that time it was about one hour and 15 minutes to the flight. They left us without help. Flight departed 20 minutes earlier than published. I guess they sold our 3 seats to other customers and bumped us. We did not fly. No customer service no help no answer.....

They did not have my AA status (Platinum Pro) in my reservation. They don't accept KTN at Dulles so I could not go through TSA Pre - terrible....

I’m still stuck with no hope in sight. They haven’t even provide a hotel for keeping us for two nights.

Excellent service all around thank you Royal Jordanian crew for the attention you have given us

I like the boarding on time , I like the respect from the male flight attendant but the female attendant could be better. Didn’t like the food

Very good and good customer service and seats very comfortable

Short handed at the check in counter. There was only one person and so many people waiting

Plane is old and dirty. My recliner wasn’t working and I was in business class. And my entertainment kept freezing up Plane needs serviced and better maintained. And you may need to teach the crew a little customer service.

Service and food were excellent. Incredibly friendly and competent staff. Flight was delayed over and hour and I had to run between terminals to get my connecting flight.

Missed it by a couple minutes and couldn’t find an alternative flight so had to spend the night in DC and after much shuffling from 1 airline to another managed to get a United to Frankfurt.

There were only 2 toilets and one of them did not work in business class. We are not allowed to cross classes so had to wait in line to use the toilets!! The entertainment touch display was finicky and did not work all the time.

We missed our flight. There was not enough time built into the layover to get through immigration, customs, bagclaim, bag rechecking, and the long trip to another terminal and gate. Kayak really screwed up. We took the bus up to Wisconsin and then were picked up in Brookfield by private car. It was lucky we didnt miss the last bus out.

I tried both on line and by calling the Customer Service line to arrange for a special meal as i have food intolerances. I was under the impression from your service representative that I was successful. I was not. I cannot eat spicy foods and get very ill if i eat bell peppers. I could not eat either menu choice and no special meal was actually ordered. ( your representative tried to order it for a flight that did not have meal service!!! - found this out later). Your wonderful cabin crew managed to put together a fruit, salad, roll and cheese tray for me so I had something to eat. WHY WOULD YOU SERVE SPICY FOOD, WITH NO MILDER OPTION,ON AN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT???

Crew was professional and great, flight was clean. However food was pathetic. I ordered a Hindu meal assuming no meat but they served chicken. Need to be very specific- Hindu meal should be categorize as Vegetarian - no meat or egg. Or it should be specific that we are serving meat.

Late flight Delays Poor service Poor staff Worst airline ever

Ground staff and cabin crew were excellent. Flight was perfectly on time. Zero issues.

Even after a delay, getting off the ground, thanks for keeping me safe, the airline made certain that my connecting flight was rebooked to get me to my final destination. It was actually rebooked twice, and my luggage still managed to meet me. The airline gave me a credit for food and beverage to be used at the airport vendors, regretfully, the credit did not transfer to my final boarding pass. Oh, well…

Trip was smooth, good drew, average meal, almost cold coffee. Excellent landing. Did not enjoy going down the stairs, walking to the gate, walking up the stairs, going a long walk to the exchange gate, and going down the stairs again to be bussed all the way where we originally landed to take our next flight! Over all an average experience. Thank you.
