Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "From friendly staff on the ground to check us in, to helpful flight attendants, Delta has once again convinced us it is one of the better airlines . Will fly delta again."
Pros: "No hassle, no drama, very smooth."
Cons: "The blueberries were rather bland."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and attentive, and the flights were punctual. I was assigned a good seat, and I appreciated the meal, as i was going to arrive in Mexico very late. I also enjoyed the entertainment options."
Cons: "I really have no negative comments."
Pros: "Excellent service, God flight"
Pros: "The one good thing about this unexplained ordeal (the flight was delayed for 5 hours, causing me to miss my connection) was that, after a few hours of hearing nothing (no emails or texts from Delta), I finally saw some options for different flights pop up, so I was able to book a new flight without calling India. Also, I got an exit row seat on my new flight to MSP."
Cons: "They moved our gate about six times and never told us why the flight was delayed. Actually, the biggest annoyance was that Delta told us nothing. The only reason I knew about the delay and gate changes was because of Kayak! I know I am signed up to receive texts and emails from them, but I guess they forgot to notify me."
Pros: "The flight was very quick."
Cons: "They didn't serve us water."
Cons: "Seats are in humane"
Cons: "Staff were a bit rude. The boarding process was slow as everyone rushed up when they announced the first zone to board, and obviously this was not policed. We didn't get our seats until we got to the gate because apparently we bought our tickets too soon to take off, which was three weeks. Also, staff claimed there wasn't enough bin space so asked people to check their bags. We saw people with two big bags get on board at the start, and then staff made everyone at the back of the line check their bags. But there was plenty of bin space before take off. And we were seated in the last row which can't recline."
Pros: "Staff on the plane was courteous although they skipped half of us for snacks & forgot some requests for water"
Cons: "Was not able to check in online. Was not able to select my seat online. I was told I would be able to do both of these things. Spent 30 minutes trying to find a number to someone at Delta to check in & select seat. I was in Australia & all Delta offices were closed because it was Sunday. Although I had an internationally calling plan, no calls to Delta US would go through. finally found someone through a back channel that would help me. We boarded an hour late, and staff would not answer any of our questions about what was going on or how late we would arrive (they sped up the fight so that we landed on time). Flight ran out of drinking WATER after the first service. Half of our section (Economy Plus) was skipped for snacks. An unruly child was allowed to scream for almost the entire flight & was running up & down the aisles. NOTHING was said to the parents by staff members. Was absolutely the worst behaving child with who I've had to fly."
Pros: "El personal abordo muy amable llegamos a tiempo"
Cons: "En el ahereopuerto de guatemala para chekiar las maletas siento q nesesitan mas personal estuve una ora y quince minutos para poder chekiar mi maleta"
Pros: "Smooth flight."
Cons: "I have broad shoulders and there was a larger gentleman on the window seat. Being in the middle seat made for a very very cramped flight the whole way. Lots of skin to skin arm contact for much of the flight. There was no way to avoid it."
Pros: "The crew did a great job of dealing with delays beyond their control and made sure we - and our luggage - made a connecting flight."
Cons: "No complaints."
Pros: "I liked the boarding process."
Cons: "Bigger seats are more helpful."
Cons: "Got stuck for two hours sitting in the plane because the computer systems went down. Worst experience ever with Delta."
Pros: "Nothing I can think"
Cons: "The seats selection"
Cons: "It was late and i missed my next flight"
Pros: "All I need to say."
Pros: "The environment and efficiency."
Pros: "It was on time"
Cons: "Too short of a layover in Atlanta"
Pros: "Everything was pretty good like usual, except when we landed we sat on the runway for 45 minutes waiting for a gate as ours was occupied by a plane that was having mechanical issues. Not great."
Cons: "The flight got delayed by 3 hours or more. I missed my flight from LA to FL"
Cons: "3.5 hour delay due to lack of co-pilot. No consessions for delay when asked at gate. Lack of leg room. Broken tv, I asked twice to be fix nothing was ever done."
Pros: "Flight departed and arrived on time"
Cons: "Long time standing in line. People are confused by zone boarding. Stood 30 to 40 minutes in line."
Pros: "Friendly staff and crew. On time efficient boarding. Security in SEA-TAC less than 5 min. Different snacks both flights. Prompt service. On time. Power sources at seats worked."
Cons: "Airport gate area in LAX filthy. No seats. Garbage cans overflowing. Bathrooms smelled like New Orleans street on a Sunday morning. Entertainment system broken."
Pros: "The crew was very kind & accomodating. There were plenty of great current TV shows & movies. The seats were pretty comfortable, above average. I loved that they had roasted salted almonds as one of the 5 snack options."
Cons: "I had earbuds but the little girl next to me did not. I loaned her a pair of mine but I expected the flight attendants to offer them but they didn't."
Cons: "Very dated plane. First class seat was worn, crooked, and uncomfortable. No entertainment offered. Almonds or biscuit cookies were the only food options."
Cons: "Flight delayed"
Pros: "It was a smooth ride and overall very enjoyable flight as the entertainment was very enjoyable and a lot to choose from"
Cons: "It was a smooth ride and overall very enjoyable flight as the entertainment was very enjoyable and a lot to choose from"
Cons: "When I was transferred to Delta's website to book, the date was reset to 6 months in the future. It happened to be the same Monday the 26th so that's why I didn't notice. Delta refused to refund my money. This was a terrible experience and I plan not to use Kayak or Delta again!"
Pros: "on board service was nice and promptly"
Cons: "Delta continúes to use an older 757 in this 6-hour flight with cramped seats and seating arrangement in business class. I have taken this flight several times in the last 2 years and written about this issue but now doubt anybody cares about these comments. To make things worse, my seat would not recline!"
Cons: "The flight was over 20 minutes early"
Pros: "I liked the in-flight service and the complimentary snacks and drinks despite the short trip."
Cons: "I did not like that there was not enough room for our 50L Osprey backpacks to be placed under the seats."
Cons: "Sold us a flight with unassigned seats"
Pros: "Individual screens and earbuds for sale."
Pros: "I liked the fact that they have a train to take you from one concourse to another!"
Cons: "Very busy airport! Boarding was delayed and flight was overbooked. I wasn't too happy but it could've been worse."
Pros: "Boarding was easy. Wifi was available and we got some snacks. Paid extra to sit in roomier coach, was worth it."
Cons: "Still pretty cramped, not the crews fault. Would've been better with the seat back screens"
Cons: "Boarding area; boarding agent; boarding staffing; seating (comfort); flt. attendants: That's all... aww"
Cons: "Delay from Seattle to pasco."
Cons: "The quality of customer service and efficiency was lacking at the check in counter. Wrong information was given to many passengers as far as checking in baggage and being sent to several line ques for the agent to tell me in the end that I was told the information incorrectly since the beginning. I therefore was unable to board my flight on time, got switched to a new flight and the new flight was delayed for 3.5 hours."
Pros: "Good service and food"
Cons: "My non-reclining first class seat was a disappointment on this long flight. The flight was full, so there was no re-seating option."
Pros: "Really liked the plan"
Pros: "I'm an American ex-pat who travels to and from between the US and Australia. I do whatever I can to fly on Australian rather than American airlines, as they are always much better in every regard. But in this case it wasn't feasible, and I found myself on a Delta flight. I'd say the overall experience was somewhere between okay-good. Nothing major to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. The entertainment options were decent. I appreciated the variety of newly released movies. However, I would have liked a greater selection of TV shows, and the availability of more episodes. I also appreciated the availability of internet access, but I don't understand why it has to be quite *so* pricey. Surely they could make a bit more on greater volume if they dropped the price a bit. I didn't purchase access, but I would have if it were 40-50% cheaper. The comfort of the plane seemed the same as any of the alternatives. Boarding and deplaning were as they should be."
Cons: "The service from the crew though was simply ok. They were just friendly enough not to be rude, but no more than that. Virgin Australia and Qantas consistently have much happier crews, who make you feel like a dignified guest, even in economy. The food was average at best, and they served two meals where the Australian airlines would serve three on the same flight. They also offered less in the way of snacks and drink refills. It seemed like they were cutting corners here, which I don't appreciate on a 15 hour flight. Also, they said they "proudly serve Starbucks coffee". After drinking it, I don't think they should be proud of that! Again, overall it was a decent experience. Nothing flashy, but nothing too bad either. If the costs are comparable for your flight, you should certainly choose one of the Australian carriers. You'll get better service from the crew and better food. The one caveat, however, is that Delta has WiFi, whereas at the date of writing this, the Australian carriers do not. While access is exorbitant, if you really need to get some work done on the plane, you might choose Delta for this reason alone."
Pros: "We got to board first"
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable, the food was uneddible and we had to wait a very long time for our baggage"
Cons: "Flight was delayed substantially. Sat on the plan 40 minutes before taking off after already being 30 minutes delayed."
Pros: "Reassuring that the airport desk staff were keeping an eye on my connection from LAX to Columbus. Turned out it was too tight of a squeeze and I missed the connecting airplane's door closing by a few minutes, despite having RUN through LAX to get there."
Cons: "I am disappointed by the lack of communication among Delta staff when we arrived at LAX. Our turn-around was late coming into SMF, thus late leaving. It would have been very helpful if the gate staff at LAX had advised me to not bother to try to make my connection, or called the next gate to tell them we were running over there. RUNNING. Or at least done something to act like they cared. I am disappointed by the lack of initiative. I understand flights cannot wait, and I would have greatly appreciated being saved the trouble of running to a different terminal and instead taking that time to change my travel plans. They may see travelers struggling like this daily, but to each traveler, a hiccup in travel plans trip is stressful and urgent. I ask Delta staff to please consider that when they come to work. Thank you."
Cons: "Took 8 hours to get from Oakland to Los Angeles. Flight delayed then cancelled at Oakland. Driven from there to San Francisco. That flight delayed by 45 minutes. Got on board and then they neede 4 people to get off the plane since it was overweight. That took another hour. Bad day of travel."
Pros: "Food was good, I had the fruit & cheese plate. Very good. I had a wheelchair so she took me directly to the doorway of the plane. Very nice young lady from West Africa. Nice selection of recent movie releases."
Cons: "My seat would not recline. Uncomfortable for such a long flight."
Cons: "1. Boarding order is not by seating making boarding very inefficient"
