Everything was pretty mediocre for the upgraded cabin. Seats are only slightly more comfortable than basic economy, but just barely and not good for a long flight. The crew was pleasant but invisible - after dinner service they made one pass to pick up trays but then offered drinks and water twice more before making any other pass to pick up trash. Some passengers who didn’t finish their meals before they came by for tray pickup had their dirty dinner trays in front of the f them for 5 hours and no crew member even offered to take it away. Pretty disgusting having old food and trash all over the cabin for an 11 hour flight.

Cons: "Landed almost an hour late. Food was HORRIBLE. worst pasta of my life. The crew while kind, we busy chatting in the galley most of the flight. Never came around (besides the initial drink cart and the meal) to offer water or check on passengers. They forced me to close the window while we were flying and I bought a window seat so i could look out. The boarding process was very slow and disembarking took ages. Problems with loading the baggage led to an issue at baggage claim where they were stuck."
Pros: "We waited an hour to board with a wheelchair and were the last on and I had to push. Gate personnel were inattentive and dismissive."

Cons: "The flight attendant who served me apparently doesn't like Americans. She was very cold to me although I was as polite (or even more so) than others. When I handed her used service items she snatched them out of my hands."

Cons: "The food quality was poor and the service left a lot to be desired. I asked for some water and she told me she’d be back. I waited almost an hour, then called and no one came. When I called on the second time she came with a cup half full and seemed irritated. I didn’t even bother asking for more water. They didn’t let me check in early enough to request roomier seats, even if we’d have to pay more given that my husband has knee surgery and needed the extra room. When I was finally able to ask, they were fully booked."

When BA transfered the data to AA, they lost the seat assignments which I found out about at the last minute and ended up spending almost $400 to get acceptable seats. Could not get boarding passes at our origin in Rome and had to wait in line at LHR. Boarding seemed very disorganized."

Cons: "Having to pay to select your seats is bargain carrier behavior. My family of four had to pay nearly $400 extra to select our seats in advance instead of having them assigned to selecting them the day of the flight. Seats were cramped and not too comfortable. I flew Air France on a previous trip to Europe and it was much more comfortable seating. The in-flight entertainment system kept freezing up and had to be reset multiple times. The touch screen (which is the method of navigation through the system) did not work. On a 5 hour flight that would be an inconvenience - on an 11 hour flight it is a bit more of a problem."

Pros: "Flight crew is the most helpful and genuine I've experienced of all carriers. I've had bad experiences with Lufthansa, United, American, and Delta. Everything we asked of BA was taken care of quickly and they truly seemed to care more. They are especially attentive to children. The A320 storage space overhead is huge and seemed to have room to spare with a fully booked flight."

As I patiently waited, I saw the flight attendants in the back doing nothing but chatting. So I tried clicking again in hopes they would head and come to assist me. But nothing. So I had to hail one over for headphones. They also kept the curtains open the entire flight even though people were trying to sleep. I had to put a jacket over my face to block the light and so did the person sitting next to me."

Cons: "On both flight s going to LAX to London and London to LAX we were sitting in the back of the plan with all the families with noisy kids. on the flight to London I had two twins in one seat it was difficult for the mother and the children were all over the place. with a tantrum at the end of the flight because of having to have the seat belt on. On the flight home we were in the last row and all kinds of crying kids. If I ever fly again on British Air I want a seat further forward but if is hard to pre book your seat. We are in our 70's and would like a quieter area."

Cons: "The flights at Heathrow had been delayed all day, according to the pilot from Paris to London. Well all except the connection that I missed due to a lot of slow moving people and delayed take off. So I was directed to stand in the rebooking line to get on another flight. I stood in that line for over 6 hours! Once i finally reached the counter, I was told the next available flight wasnt until the next day, and that I would be put up in a hotel for the night. The hotel was an hour bus ride away (which I had to pay for), and my arrival at the Hotel was too late for me to use my meal voucher for dinner. There were many other issues as well regarding misplaced baggage, trying to charge me twice for my extra bag, along with several efficiency muckups causing insufferable delays. What a disaster"
