Pros: "Flight 1751 Miami to Cleveland 1/11/21. Flight attendants did not enforce mask policy! Family of four sick sneezing, coughing, short of breath. The fathers mask was down the entire flight. Even when the flight attendants picked up the trash. They were informed after the flight they did not comply with CDC, Department of health, and state policies. Their response was “ I made announcements overhead. Didn’t you hear?”. Appalling endangering customers and disregarding Federal, State, and local policies."

Cons: "Gate at Philadelphia was tiny with not enough space for everyone on the plane, it was a 6 hour flight and no snacks beyond pretzels were available-not even for purchase. I'd just come off an 8 hour international flight where I was provided lunch, ice cream, a pot pie snack and frequent beverage service. Somehow as soon as you are flying domestic on a slightly shorter flight American Airlines thinks its okay to treat customers like garbage-nothing but some sad pretzels and 2 rounds of drink service was provided for a 6 hour flight. The seats were super uncomfortable with no head rest, no personal entertainment devices were provided, and there was no general entertainment for the whole plane-seriously I've never been so bored. I would have fallen asleep from boredom but the seat was too uncomfortable so I couldn't even do that. The plane landed in Seattle but sat without unloading passengers for 20 minutes because the gate crew wasn't ready. We didn't get our checked baggage for over an hour after landing. When asked, customer service reps said that the S gate was far from baggage claim-seriously I'm not sure how that is a reasonable excuse. Other airlines arrive into S gates and have timely baggage claim service. American Airlines has no standard for timely baggage claim service like other airlines (Alaska) so there were no repercussions for such late baggage service. We left the airport with our luggage over 90 minutes after the plane landed. The entire experience is just another example of American Airlines of why the terrorists won't even fly American Airlines. I was seriously disappointed to find out that the British Airways flights we booked were operated by American instead of BA crews. I seriously will never select this option (or fly American) again if I can help it."

She asked for a wet towel and the flight attendant was snarky but went to get one without even looking or asking to see what the problem was. Her entertainment console wasn't working so they reset it but instead it reset mine (two seats over) they did this again and I let them know it was resetting mine. I was told that I was not in the seat they were resetting for ...I inquired if perhaps they should try to reset mine and see if it would, in fact, fix hers..it did. When she slipped off her shoes the carpet was soaking wet. This was a really crummy, crummy flight."

Cons: "Charlotte to Seattle flight: The food served in first class smelled awful. Seated in premium seating just behind first class was unfortunate due to the atrocious odor that lasted for 3+hours. There was no option for food service for the rest of the plane. Which was unfortunate as I was very hungry. Due to inconsistent notification that the plane was delayed / on-time (kept switching the notification) we opted to not get dinner in the airport..... To which the plane was was an hour late yet we were told to check in every ten minutes to see if we were boarding. There were no blankets. The plane was incredibly cold. The suggestion I received from the flight staff was to turn off the vent above my head (which I had already done.) I had brought a jacket and was wearing pants. On a 5.5 hour flight, the crew served beverages 45 minutes into the flight (per usual) and handed out a pretzel pack. They didn't come back through with water or beverages again. On other airlines, they promote water at least once an hour to keep swelling and dehydration down. Since I am a pretty frequent flier, I bring my own water. Still, coffee would have been nice. Suggestions: increase beverage service to at least twice / 5.5 hour flight and provide blankets upon request. Food choices and entertainment would also be good. Don't cook stinky dinners in first class and allow it to pollute the rest of the plane."

When we said that it fit; the woman literally just scoffed, said "no" rudely, and walked away. We were polite, so why the rudeness?!! Never again AA."

Cons: "First and LAST time flying Spirit. Once I had to pay the fee for having a carry on bag, the price came out closer to one of the airlines I should have used instead. The website address didn't even work from my phone, so I had to pay the $65 gate fee for the carry on. The seats weren't comfortable, didn't recline, no cushioning. No inflight entertainment of any kind. During the flight, I got up and went to the front to use the bathroom (which I KNEW was empty) and the staff directed me to use the ones in back. Why? And they never reduced the cabin pressure on the descent! The cabin was still completely pressurized for the higher altitudes well after we touched down. This feels like such an amateur mistake that simply isn't acceptable."

Cons: "After buying my ticket, a day before boarding, I was charged separately for checking bags and carry-ones. Once I got to the airport, I was charged another $30 for the weight of my bag. I should have been made aware of these fees during the purchase of my ticket. Nearly $200 unexpectly taken away from my vacation fund. Soooo not cool. I believed I was getting a great deal, but in actuality I was being charged just as much as any other flight. The ride may have been better with another airline because the seats where compact, hard, and immobile. It’s definitely was my best experience."

Everybody in line asked the same question - when’s the next flight? The worst part was the delay with meal vouchers. They said they were going to read off the names, when I saw them flipping through and not reading the names, I asked why, to which they responded “because it’s hard to read”. Well, they aren’t going to read themselves. Either try, or spell it out. Or call out confirmation numbers. Eventually they got them mixed up, gave up, and asked us to come up 1 at a time so they could find ours."

The connection stopped boarding at the gate directly next to our exit gate as we were getting off of the plane. We were forced to get a hotel room overnight to get a flight the next day with no compensation from Spirit. I will never fly Spirit again."

Cons: "It was horrible! I won’t let any of my friends use Spirit air. I had to pay 55$ for a carry on. I wasn’t even carrying a purse. I was told after I paid 55$ and they took my bag I could have pre- checked my bag for less! I had to pay for my seat!!! There were no screens, no outlets, no WiFi, and no snacks without a charge. On my return The Spirit website did not indicate gate changes as the gate changes. I prechecked this time, 3 hours early and the plane departed 40 min before departure. The screens at kiosk did not indicate changes to flight time or gate change. I wasn’t even called!!! I missed my flight. The staff gave no help for hotel or shuttle. I was to sleep 12 hours for n Next plane and my bag was on first plane. My original flight of $249 to Vegas was $349. Plus hotel 129 plus $40 for extra night stay and Uber."

My hair was pulled several times when they would grab the top of the seat to stand up or just harassing each other. I also witnessed them on cell phones that were not in airplane mode and never once did their parent reprimand them for their behavior. I had to do this from the seat in front of them. When the flight landed the entire family talked loudly about pushing their way off the plane to get to another flight, little did they know others had connecting flights to reach as well. Poor behavior & left to make others have a worse flight"

This was by far the smallest seating space I've ever had...I'm 5'9 so normally I don't have an issue with this but my knees were about an inch away from the seat in front of me and I had no space to move around. The headrests were hard as a rock, and I could feel a metal bar in the middle of the seat poking out at my back. The seats don't go back, there was no entertainment whatsoever, not even a magazine to read. The main lights were left on during the 4.5 hour nighttime flight. There was not even a complimentary cup of water...$3 for water. It was also freezing in the plane and there was a 2 hour delay for no apparent reason. Look up the fees they charge for everything before you book with Spirit."

Cons: "The flight was delayed 2 hours. Then after boarding the sink ceased working. The plane seemed to come from a developing country. There were way more noises than I have ever heard on a plane. Multiple unusual clunks as the landing gear was being deployed. Then on the land I heard unusual stress on the wings. I have been flying 2-3 times a year for the past 10 years, and this was the worst plane experience. The seats were terribly uncomfortable. I felt like I was strapped to a set of bricks, flying on the wright brothers plane."

Cons: "Five other people and I were unable to board our flight from las vegas to seattle because we received numerous notifications that our flight was delayed, and we were all sitting at the gate at least and hour, one group 3 hours before departure, and did not hear the announcement for boarding because the flight decided to leave 30minutes earlier than we were told. When I went to check in, the plane was still attached, but the attendant would not let me on the flight. Further, this airline does not accommodate for arrangements since the next flight isn't until the next day, and the next flight the day after that. Missing this flight would not be so frustrating, had this airline not only had one flight per day, and we're on standby, we don't know if we will be able to board, we may be stranded for days. So moral of the story, you get what you pay for, and I'm now willing to pay and extra $100 for a more reliable airline so i don't get charged for every little thing and receive better service. This is not the staff's fault; they were all very friendly, this is a corporate issue."

Cons: "I spoke with a customer service rep and requested to cancel round trip from Seattle to Las Vegas; I was told that they had to be cancelled separately, so I did this and was told that both were cancelled and because I had called in a timely manner I would not be charged. This transaction was friendly and helpful; however, apparently not completed accurately. Three weeks later: Only my one trip TO Vegas was cancelled; my return flight home was not. When I again called Spirit, Jenki (sp?) answered the phone and told me I hadn't cancelled in enough time and would be charged for the trip and could not cancel the return leg home. I protested and was told they would review my phone conversation. They did not call me back, but I will be calling again later today to see if I can get credit (although I don't want to use them again in any case). Very disappointed with the service."

Cons: "When we arrived to check in, we were immediately told we would not be making our connection, we would be staying in Florida for the night and there was absolutely no other solutions to be discussed and pushed to the side. When I tried to speak with the woman at the counter inside at the gate, she continued to talk on her cell phone, telling me "no, I do nothing for you." I finally said we need to figure out a way to negotiate something, can we please see if any other flights are available that would put us closer to South Carolina. After she reluctantly hung up her cell phone, she searched and said she had a flight to Atlanta but we would be "stuck" there on our own with no luggage and she couldn't do anything about that either. I said I would drive from Atlanta to South Carolina as I absolutely needed to be back the following morning. She said she would make the switch but whatever else happens is on us and not to call her again. She said we would have to retrieve our luggage in South Carolina the following afternoon as she couldn't get our luggage to the Atlanta plane so "don't even ask." I kindly asked her to put my luggage through to our first stop, Florida, we would handle it ourselves. We arrived in Florida, ran to baggage, collected our bags and had them transferred to the Atlanta plane, and ran back through security to make our flight. I can completely understand weather being an issue that calls for no reimbursement, however, the absolutely rudeness and lack of social skills and empathy of the spirit team was disheartening. We will not even attempt to spend money our money with spirit and see if we have a better outcome next time. I will not be recommending this airline and asked my friends to choose another airline for their trip so they would not be treated the same way."

Cons: "I thought I was getting a good deal, but then any bag you take with you, carry on or not, costs $45. EACH WAY! So what we thought were $93 tickets were really $173 if we brought a carry on. Who doesn't bring at least a carry on. Oh, and by the way, if you don't understand that carryon costs extra, they extort you in form of a $100 fee per bag at the gate. They know they have you because you're about to board the plane, so why not extort money out of you. Then the seats don't recline, and thank God they don't because your knees are smashed into the seat in front you. I'm 6'3", which is a little tall, but i totally don't fit in these seats. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Then there is the endless nickel and dime'ing for everything: do you want a credit card, do you want to choose your seats? Oh that'd be $5 extra. Do you want to board first for $10, etc. etc. On the plus side, the flight attendants were at least funny and tried to make people laugh."

I had to react quick and purchase a flight with American to make it back in time for work. When I called spirit customer service I was told you missed your flight so no refund. After re-explaining my situation it fell on deaf ears. Reality of this is that I won't fly spirit unless it's my final chance to get somewhere that is an emergency. The seats are uncomfortable and not even water is complimentary. Cheap flight but all the add-On are not worth it"

Cons: "Had never flown Spirit before. First AND LAST experience. Don't care that they call themselves no frills. Their customer service is pathetic. Had to wait at the airport for 25 minutes for any Spirit employee to show up at the ticket counter to check my bag. By that time there were about 50 people waiting for help. Even other airline employees and TSA employees didn't know why they weren't there. Also called customer service to have my KTN (pre-check #) added because I couldn't put it in when I booked the flight. Even though he told me he would put it in- he didn't. So NO precheck for me. The seats in the plane are beyond uncomfortable. Like sitting on a hard straight chair -no padding. Charging for carry ons? Really? Checking my bag was cheaper than carrying it on and it's a SMALL suitcase seriously. Do NOT be fooled by the low prices listed. They are deceiving!!! Just trying to give a real review here folks. Not being overly dramatic."
Pros: "The crew was very nice and polite."
Cons: "My flight was delayed both ways. The seats are small and the plane made a terrible noise both taking off and landing. There was no entertainment at all and the carry on fee is ridiculous."
Pros: "Flight was on time."
Cons: "Having to pay extra for my bag."

Cons: "That you have to pay for everything and i mean everything juice, chips, water you name it...."
Pros: "Price was great!! Can't be beat!!"

Pros: "There is a lot of room in the newer planes."
Cons: "Refused to let me get a boarding pass; even with plenty of time to get through security and to my gate. I was literally there 48 min early as opposed to 45 min and could see through the empty security facility to my gate and they still would not let me go. I had to wait 13 hours for another flight because they are so terrible, no other airline partners with them. They charge for absolutely everything. They as a whole were super disorganized. Flight attendant was obnoxious and clearly drunk. The lines for the counter were chaos and the wait was absurd; 1 hour +. My suitcase came back to me absolutely filthy and runed. Overall, the most horrible travel experience I have ever had. Pay the extra ten bucks (that's what they charge for water anyway) and fly any other airline."
Cons: "$52 to check bags, and bags can not weight over 40 punds. no assign seating unless you pay and additional fee. Over all the initial low cost of the boarding pass is vastly off set by the additional cost in service sfees like baggage check."
Pros: "The pilots 2 jokes."
Cons: "Had no idea there was a seperate fee for baggage- luckily I checked my email or else I would have had to pay an extra fee for CHECKING IN AT THE AIRPORT. Are You kidding? After selecting seats and attempting to pay for baggage through my phone- a message kept coming up saying "a customer service rep is needed to complete check in. Call 800 blah blah" I tried calling for 30 MINUTES. Could not get a hold of anyone. At this point I'm worried thinking "oh my god Were going to have to pay an extra fee for not checking in a head of time." We rush to the airport and find out "oh ur address didn't match because it was purchased through Kayak." Wtf??? So Not only that but our flight was delayed for almost 2'hours. Do you know how hard it was to wake up at NINE AM to pack and rush out the hotel bc we couldnt check in our flight and it was DELAYED?? Absolutely ridiculous. The pilot couldn't even tell us why it was delayed. He actually said "I don't have a reason why it was delayed" SO being said that, I will never ever in my life fly Spirit Airlines again. and I'll be sure to let all friends + family know the same. This airline is so stressful."
Pros: "That I was able to get from point A to B and the plane was on time! I got there safely!!!"
Cons: "That I had to play for EVERYTHING.... My seat, my checked bag, my drinks, and for the price of the ticket (which wasn't that cheap) I could've flown with a different airlines for about 15$ more with more amenities. For instance I payed 85$ for one way trip with Alaska, my checked bag was only 25$, soda and pretzels were complementary, I didn't have to pay for my seat and I was able to charge my phone ON THE PLANE!!! Get it together Spirit!!!"
Cons: "The tickets were high priced with terrible seating arrangements you have to pay 25$ extra for a decent seat. 55$ for baggage in addition to terrible customer service. To have the name Spirit you would think it to be a positive experience, not at all. Very disappointed wanted to try a new airline. Never again."
