We talked to JetBlue and they said they couldn't do anything for us so not only did we miss out on a day in Italy, we lost our a ton of money on all the things we booked for Tuesday. We also then had to get a hotel in ny and everything was booked so we almost had to sleep at the airport but luckily we found a place that had a last minute opening. Still was super expensive and no one helped with a "destressed rate". Now we have to wait until 10 again tonight to try to catch the plane to Milan because Emirates only has one flight a day. This has been the worst travel experience I have ever had."

Cons: "The flight attendants were uniformly rude and nasty to passengers from start to finish. As I boarded, I asked for a piece of art to be stored in the wardrobe compartment. This was treated as an inconvenience. During and after boarding, flight attendants addressed passengers rudely when encouraging them to take their seats in a timely fashion. Later, when my seat mate politely asked a FA to repeat the food options, she asked, "Excuse me?" several times and seemed very irritated to have to repeat the choices for him. Also, near the end of the flight, a pillow was on the ground and a FA asked those seated in my row to pick it up. We responded that it wasn't ours and she said something to the effect of, "Oh yeah? So how did it get there?" (Maybe because someone else dropped it and we didn't notice?) The FAs seemed irritated to serve passengers at all. Each time they passed through for beverage or meal service, I felt like I was imposing on them. I have never witnessed anything quite like it. Makes me wonder why they were all so upset and and felt it appropriate to speak and act disrespectfully toward customers. (Delta, do you have any insights?) I hope they all got a good night's rest after that haul."

Pros: "Flight 1751 Miami to Cleveland 1/11/21. Flight attendants did not enforce mask policy! Family of four sick sneezing, coughing, short of breath. The fathers mask was down the entire flight. Even when the flight attendants picked up the trash. They were informed after the flight they did not comply with CDC, Department of health, and state policies. Their response was “ I made announcements overhead. Didn’t you hear?”. Appalling endangering customers and disregarding Federal, State, and local policies."

If we buy tickets from your website and you own the process, you should be more helpful when there are problems. The back-and-forth was frustrating. Lima airport takes a long time to go through all the checkpoints. Two hours does not give enough time. There are at least four long lines that have to be endured. I had paid airport prices for water to bring onto the plane and then had to surrender it at the gate. Of course in economy class they will not give you water or attention until you are at cruising altitude. More than one flight attendant did not smile and one was actually rude in spite of my attempts to be kind and smile. Except for one friendly person at check-in kiosk, bad service overall. They do not have personal entertainment systems, and it was like going back in time with the tiny screens you cannot see, playing a movie you either watch it or not."

And AA said they would get my bag off but they did not and now I have to wait at JFK and hope it got rerouted here. And if it didn’t to hope it can on another flight before I hopefully actually get on a flight for Rio. Nobody has comped me for losing a day in Rio and for my hotel room. And this has been the worst flight exeperience or my life which unfortunately landed on my birthday. One I’ll remember in a sad and bad way. American Airlines refused to compensate me because I got my tickets via Kayak and I haven’t been able to find a number to complain to a Kayak agent whom I sure would say I had to contact American Airlines and nobody would help or take responsilvitu for this disaster."

Cons: "We arrived at St Stomas airport 85 minutes profile to our flights departure. The female manager, Latoya, at the desk was overly rude and completely out of line the way she was speaking to guests. Apparently American Airlines requests 90 minutes before departure to check you in, however their website does say they will try to accomadate customers that have arrived late. This employee refused 24 people access to the flight that we had booked and paid for. She related that she could put everyone on standby for the next and final flight out of Saint Thomas and standby for multiple connecting flights from Miami to many different parts of the country. This is because American Airlines over books their flights on purpose and has no problem leaving people stranded at an airport. Another employee related that it was easily accomplished to confirm is for the flight as we would have plenty of time prior to boarding since the aircraft had yet to arrive from its original location. American Airlines would not speak to any of the paid customers and would not look into other flights to see if there were other options to get customers home. When we boarded the plane there were still 4 customers that American Airlines stranded at the airport with no more flights out of the airport that day. This was an absolute disgrace and it was disgusting to see how the American Airlines staff were treating people. Their companies customer service has nothing to say other then sorry. I will never fly American Airlines again and now know why so many other people also feel this way."

I finally said we need to figure out a way to negotiate something, can we please see if any other flights are available that would put us closer to South Carolina. After she reluctantly hung up her cell phone, she searched and said she had a flight to Atlanta but we would be "stuck" there on our own with no luggage and she couldn't do anything about that either. I said I would drive from Atlanta to South Carolina as I absolutely needed to be back the following morning. She said she would make the switch but whatever else happens is on us and not to call her again. She said we would have to retrieve our luggage in South Carolina the following afternoon as she couldn't get our luggage to the Atlanta plane so "don't even ask." I kindly asked her to put my luggage through to our first stop, Florida, we would handle it ourselves. We arrived in Florida, ran to baggage, collected our bags and had them transferred to the Atlanta plane, and ran back through security to make our flight. I can completely understand weather being an issue that calls for no reimbursement, however, the absolutely rudeness and lack of social skills and empathy of the spirit team was disheartening. We will not even attempt to spend money our money with spirit and see if we have a better outcome next time. I will not be recommending this airline and asked my friends to choose another airline for their trip so they would not be treated the same way."

Lastly - may be just oversight of the flight attendants as they had had a long day, however worth a note: on takeoff I signaled for a flight attendant and asked if I could get some food, they said they would be around shortly. After watching them tend to every section but mine they went back and sat down, ignoring my previous food request. I signaled them again and got my food, so it all worked out in the end. Just a bit aggravating after having been delayed both ways. Overall - I had heard horror stories about Spirit and have avoided until this trip. I plan on avoiding Spirit for future flights based on this experience. The "lower" price was not worth it after paying $55 for my carry on bag each way and the certainty of delay."

When I went back to check the max weight for my one piece of luggage I could not get to the area on their site I paid for my luggage. I searched and searched as I was packing. I found information on the spirit site stating 50lbs. OK. I got to the airport and was told the max weight for my bag at that price was 40lbs. I had to pay an additional $25. My plane was then delayed because the auxiliary power source died. We had to get towed back to the gate to get a jump start. A few people scared by the issue and got off the plane. We arrived 1.5 hours late. The issue was Spirits. They made no offers for the inconvenience. Not even a free drink. I have also been bumped and stuck over night in as Spirit over books. I DON'T BELIEVE THEY REALLY SAVE YOU MONEY. The price you are quoted on Kayak or similar sitems with Spirit is never the price you pay. IT IS ALWAYS MORE."

Cons: "first flight (MSP to Fort Lauderdale) was 3 hours late which caused us to miss our connecting flight (also with Spirit) by 2 minutes because Spirit was unwilling to do what ALL major airlines have done in my experience of the last 30 years of flying. When your own airline has a delay usually the other plane is asked and willing to wait if we are just talking minutes. No options were offered for FLYING to Tampa for the same day. Waiting another 24 hours is not an option when you are booked into a resort for only 4 nights! After waiting in the airport for almost 3 hours on a promised shuttle from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa we finally left. This was supposed to be a quick break in the sun for my son who just lost his dad. What a terrible way to start our quick get-away. Also main stewart was unkind almost rude on the plane. He was teaching a rookie who was very kind and trying to be helpful but was discouraged to do so I have flown much in my life . This was my first and honestly most likely my last time flying with Spirit."
