The flight attendant just asked me where I was supposed to be sitting and walked away after that. I thought it was rude. I wouldn't have minded if she said no, but she didn't give me an answer."

A little rough over the mountains -- but that always happens to SLC. Our flight was actually early. Baggage was waiting for me at the carousel when I arrived -- and I went almost directly there. I've never had that happen before -- great. I will fly Alaska again."
Cons: "My only complaint was with check-in. I used the self-serve kiosk, which was easy to follow and efficient. The problem arose when I needed to check my bag. The computer instructs the passenger to go to the "baggage drop-off area," which I did. However, there was nobody there to receive my bag or to check my ID and give me a boarding pass. There was staff helping other customers at the "full-service" area, and I tried to get their attention. All I got in return was a head shake "no." This was especially frustrating since one of the staff members was observing other staff -- not actually working the computer to check in customers. I understand that she may not be able to leave her post to operate another post, but it seems reasonable to walk the mere 10 feet over to me to explain that I am in the right area and someone will assist me shortly. I ended up getting in line, which defeats the purpose of the kiosk, only to see a staff member show up to the drop off area. Going back, everything went fine from there."

I did not like the free checking of all carry on bags. Knowing my bag was barely on the larger side for a carry-on bag, I played it safe and checked.mine in.....costing me $25!!!! Then Alaska Airline employees put he tags on everyone's suitcase like carryon to be put under the plane FREE OF CHARGE and they were delivered to them at the door of the airplane when departing! If I'd not been a conscientious rule follower, I could have saved myself 25 bucks and gotten better luggage service. It was also extremely frustrating that even if checked in online the day before, Alaska Airlines system promptly told me that after I completed the online check in process I would be able to choose my seat assignment. NOPE!!!!! THEY WOULDN'T LET ME GET S SEAT ASSIGNMENT UNTIL I GOT TO THE DEPARTURE GATES AND HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR BEFORE ATTENDANTS EVEN SHOWED UP AT THE GATE DESK!!"

Cons: "I had a free seat beside me originally but then they say a 450 lb man beside me. He was not offered a seatbelt extender so he simply never buckled & he was never checked which was a first. There were other free seats, so I was disappointed because my emotional support animal on my lap was tougher given these circumstances and I asked the rude stewardess about it, but she was not helpful. This was the first time my small dog & I were treated poorly but the stewardess in our section struggled even with takeoff, putting her head down and looking frightened so maybe she was new and just not cut out for it. The fasten seat belt light was on for a very long time with no turbulence which made parents & kids cranky. The price of the flight was very expensive, much more than I've ever paid before for this 2-hr flight. The bathroom was so small that even my knees hit the door & I am 5'8"."

The attendants should monitor better what is brought onboard. I thought they were rude. And it took almost an hr to get our luggage at the carosel."

Cons: "the gate was never posted on the mobile boarding pass, online, the tv next to the gate or the airport boards (it was never posted anywhere). Everywhere said TBD or was blank when everything else was filled. I only accidentally found the gate because I knew my flight should be boarding so I went to all the lines and it ultimately was the unmarked one and I had to ask the person at the desk. I almost missed this flight because the lack of communication on what gate the flight was from."

Pros: "They were always very attentive to let you know about gate changes or seat changes. Which to me personally is very important. I have had very bad experiences with other airlines in the past because they did not communicate properly their gate change and I missed my flight and missed events I was flying for. Excellent job to United for communicating gate changes very well! They did not break any of my luggage and the seats were fairly comfortable. The employees were also very attentive and willing to answer any questions."
Cons: "It was a bit confusing gate wise. I did have to ask an employee what was going on but they cleared up the confusion pretty quick. I flew on a jet verses a regular plane, and it was very loud. I had my movie turned up all the way with headphones and I still could barely hear it. It wasn't the fact that I couldn't hear my movie but in general it just hurt my ears. I was sitting towards the back of the jet though so I'm assuming if I was closer to the front it wouldn't have been as bad? Overall it was still a great experience"

United then sent my luggage to south bend after I spoke with 3 United customer care agents and luggage agents and I wanted almost 2 hrs for my luggage. I paid 1200 for my ticket to get to my grandpas funeral and everything went wrong that possibly could"

No additional food, no entertainment options on our plane, no blanket, no pillows, no hot towels. We basically paid all that extra money for a little bigger seat. It was not worth it. This was our first time flying with United in a while and it will definitely be our last."

Cons: "Flight was originally cancelled then it got delayed an hour the next day because of a catering truck not being there on time.. Freaking joke"
Cons: "The plane was an hour late! I was sitting with twins ten months old who screamed the entire trip!!! Having children I totally understand but the flight attendants acted like it made them angry instead of helping!!! I have flown United several times this year and there were problems on every flight! Lots of complaints!"
Cons: "My fiancee and I bought tickets months ago from SB to Seattle (by way of SF) with seats next to each other. The flight was cancelled the day-of. She was automatically rebooked. I was not. I called in and could not get a seat on the flight that she was rebooked to. The alternative I was offered was to fly out the next morning with a 9 hour layover in SF. I elected to go to the airport and sit on standby to get onto her flight. Her flight was scheduled to leave at 8:30. No planes arrived and no announcements were made until 9:30 (telling us that the flight would depart at 10:30. No agents were at the desk and there were at least 15 people in line. Many of them opted to go back outside of security to ask the font desk what was going on. Finally, a very angry woman came to the gate counter at 10:00 as she repeatedly told the passengers that she was supposed to get off her shift hours ago. As she began the boarding process, she told me that there was a seat on the flight. I responded by asking if she could book me on the connecting flight from SF to SeaTac. She responded frustratedly that I should have taken care of that earlier (which of course I couldn't do until I knew I had a seat on this flight). We got to SF and ran to our connecting flight (with only 9 minutes to spare). My wife paid $329 for a one-way flight from SB to Seattle (which is a LOT) expecting to leave SB at 6:15pm and arrive in Seattle at 10:30pm (by way of SF). Instead, what she got for her $329 was a very stressful experience of not knowing if I would be joining her and she got on a flight with me at 10:30 and landed in Seattle at 1:30am. We received poor Customer Service and vouchers or compensation for our inconvenience."
Pros: "This return trip had acceptable room in Coach. All on time, etc., and personable crew. The prior Arrival United plane room is unacceptable. I am a small person too!"

Cons: "I was in the very last row of seats toward the tail of the plane. It was also the aisle seat. It is in part of the isle and does not recline at all. It was uncomfortable."
Cons: "The layover wasn't enough time, especially since the weather was bad. The plane from Wichita to Denver came in late which made us late. Didn't appreciate sprinting with my luggage through the Denver airport"
Cons: "Didn't get to board this flight. Sat 14 hours with no compensation for my time. Laying on a cement floor! The people at the counter in Chicago were rude and not helpful"
Pros: "The crew, the food and the flight was pleasant. Very comfortable i will fly united again and we reached our destination earlier than scheduled."
