She could have just asked the flight attendants on coach to help me get my daughter to skip the line in coach if it's such a big sin to use the empty bathrooms in first class when you have a little person with you."

The flight was predominantly Brazilian passengers but the Avianca crew showed displeasure when asked questions in Portuguese by many different customers such as a beverage (one attendant told an older gentleman near me that a tray of drinks was available at the back of the plane and to go an get some if he like. Rude!!) It was just a very disagreeable experience flying on Avianca"

This means you get the general check we are all used to, but at the gate there's a second patdown and x-ray where liquids purchased inside the terminal are discarded or you have to exit the gate area to drink it! People had to give up their sealed, duty free bags and we had to give up our cans of soda we had just purchased. Fuller disclosure- in Spanish and English- should be given to patrons at stores and BEFORE entering the gate to avoid displeasure. We know drug traffickers are slick, but innocent people don't appreciate the inconvenience. My son's blunt tip, plastic, safety scissors were also taken at this airport because of the thin "blade" affixed to the plastic, but it left the USA in his school pencil case without any issues on our way there."

Very disturbed by this and plan on sharing this on social media as a beware to copa travelers going through or to Panama City! Literally set up check point at ramp to plan confiscating stuff bough in the terminal after already going through security!"

Cons: "My entertainment center didn't have audio for one of the movies so I had to use closed caption to read what the characters were saying. I had some issues trying to get the movie to play because the screen froze for a moment."

Could have driven and been half way there from Newark to Boston in the time all this took. Not ok, with not even an apology or any type of compensation for leaving 3 hours late."

Cons: "We boarded our plane and during preflight check on the runway the captain learned there was mechanical error (in the right engine fuel something). The issue could not be solved and we had to change planes. On the second plane, the captain shared with travelers that "and two loose wires were found, so it's good we caught that and changed planes". What the heck? Shouldn't basic functions be checked before a plane is boarded? What was supposed to be a 1030 red eye, turned out to be a 1 AM bloodshot eye."
