Pros: "Really friendly flight attendants"

Pros: "The flight crew and the captain were terrific."
Cons: "Gate agents were rude. Everybody was forced to check-in their carry on luggage due to the small plane. This information should have been shared before boarding. We were informed as we were boarding and had to scramble to remove the laptop from our carry-on and help up passengers behind us from boarding. A totally unnecessary stressful situation created by the gate agents for failing to share information. Once we got onboard we saw carry-ons larger then what we were forced to check-in. Evidently, enforcement of standards is at the gate agents' discretion."

Pros: "Comfortable seats with plenty of legroom."
Cons: "The counter agent charged us for one bag when it should have been free. According to her, there was nothing she could do as that's what the computer stated. She did mention we have a receipt so we can ask for a refund. Why was she even there?? Could have done the same with a kiosk."

Cons: "Lead flight attendant too casual. Didn’t wear jacket, didn’t even know he was a member of the crew until he walked the aisles mid flight. Wore Bluetooth headset around his neck. Inflight WiFi entertainment didn’t work at all. Internet (AA.com) seemed to function."

Cons: "As a handicaped disabled not able to walk and should be using a wheel chair,as I know from my many previous travels with other companies like lufthanza, klm..etc, I used to be the first traveller to go to the air craft when loading it to take off and the last one who would be leaving it after landing. Even when going through the check and security points I used to go in a special route especially for the handicaped but going with all other normal travelers lines with such amount of time waiting and crowdness is completely inconvenient. what happened through the trip was quit different , going with the travelers or after when they are boarding the craft make it very hard and time consuming , Wish you take care of it, as it's a very important handicaped service. Cons: "First of all, the line to check in was extremely long and the employees were rude. When I put my bags through the check out they stopped me and said I had to throw away my cologne because it was too large. However, on the Spirit Airlines I had no problem whatsoever. Will never fly with American Airlines again!"

Cons: "Crew was rude, and we had to wait an hour to leave, I understand things happen, but then we were rerouted mid flight so it was inconvenient and again I get it, things happen. But the landing was incredibly rough and the pilot didn’t apologize. That would have made things better, but he said nothing about being sorry we were delayed and nothing about the rough landing."

Pros: "The flight attendance kindly asked the passengers to allow for the people on the back with very thigh connections, due to stupids delays, to deplane first, but of course almost no one listened and as soon the plane reach the gate everyone stranded up clogging the hallway. There should be more education to the passenger in general. If you don't have a connection, just stay put for an extra 5 minutes, is nothing crazy to do."
Cons: "Waiting area completely packed, now sits available at all. Delays, a delay for weather or mechanical issues is understandable, but just because too many human factors, is unfortunately."

Cons: "Arriving 2 hours before my flight I had a hard time getting through security because of my handicap situation, I arrived at the gate as the plane was leaving the gate, whie American Airlines where able to get me on the next flight, the flight was 3 hours after my original flight! JW"

Pros: "Flights to Reno tend to be empty if you fly in the right time of the week. I booked the cheapest ticket and ended up getting an exit row all to myself."
Cons: "There is no seatback TV which is a major drawback. They do have a service that you can stream through your personal device but my power outlet didn’t work so my laptop died mid movie."

Cons: "I purchased a flight two weeks ago to depart at 11am from lax I checked in at 10:30 where they told me It was too late for me to check in they gave me another flight departing at 4pm (free of charge) weird right? Very disappointed since I always fly and check in 30 minutes before. I didn’t have any luggage with me either I do not think it’s fair and I will not be flying American Airlines/Alaskan airlines ever again."

Cons: "Well - this partner of westjet was terrible. The amount of re direction to get to the final terminal was absurd .. that's just my venting My real problem is that then "crew" or team that represent s the American Airlines / compass part was just useless. A hand full of people - myself included didn't get a chance to board the plane as they didn't make any announcements. Beyond disappointing. When you check in they take your cell phone "in case " well no call no txt no nothing. It was a joke the level of service No apologies or anything just a group of any tired patrons getting the worst customer experience. I'll never EVER book a flight that has anything to do with American Airlines or its partners"

Cons: "I was on the plane for 50 minutes before we departed. I was in group 6. The people before my group waited even longer. I also don't like Americans stand alone terminal at LAX; there's no vendors or services there."

Cons: "No local temperature control, back of plane too cold, middle too hot. No air vents at seats. 3 hours with no drink service, went to back asked for a diet coke, was told no. Flight attendant who was in the back would not give me one, said they were doing water service now and I should wait."

Cons: "The planes are old. Needless to say there is no Wi-Fi, and the only entertainment on a 7.5 hour flight was a tiny tv in the center of aisle. 1987 tech in 2017. Our plane was delayed for 8 hours due to a broken hydrolics system, and no compensation for additional expenses due to equipment failure was offered."

Cons: "The flight was over an hour delayed. that meant I arrived home at 1am. That is a very rough morning."

Cons: "Fight was operated by American. Alaska forced to wait in line and see assistance, then inform that because the flight is operated by American, they won't be able to check me in. Had to walk to a different terminal of LAX wait in 2 more lines and by the time they were able to assist it was too late to check in. Missed the flight, have to rebook a 3 hour later departure, move the meeting and take a flight back 4 hours later that has a layover and adds about 2.5 hours more on the return leg. Not to mention having to pay for the new seat."

Cons: "Cancelled flight due to multiple mechanical malfunctions that should have been checked previous to boarding. Held on the plane for 4 hours, another 4 hours in terminal of the closed airport once allowed to deplane, no communication, no food or water, put up in a hotel an hour and half away despite this being NYC, terrible customer service, no compensation, unable to get tofinal destination earlier than 24 hours later missed events in final destination overall financial and personal losses due to the inadequacy of the airline."

Also, there was a delay of a couple of hours leaving Dallas due to a problem with the plane's radio, and the American employees handled it very well, keeping the passengers informed and smoothly transferring everyone to a substitute plane."

Crew was not professional. After takeoff they never came around to see if anyone needed anything and not even a glass of water was offered for the entire flight. They didn’t even ensure that everyone wore seatbelts on landing - woman next to me was stretched out hugging her companion while landing wilth unbuckled seatbelt. Entertainment screen did not wirk properly."

Pros: "The person at the United customer service desk was able to book me on the next available flight to Reno (after missing my original flight mentioned above) quickly and efficiently. Boarding was fast."
Cons: "I was late to my original flight and the United personal that I talked to at the gate was very rude. I asked if the plane was still boarding and all she said was go to customer service. I know I gave her a questioning look because this did not answer my original question. She repeated her statement again this time pointing. I would have preferred that she tell me that the flight had finished boarding but customer service could help me get on another flight. I feel that would have been more professional. My new flight was also an hour late"

Pros: "Great crew, polaris lay-flat seats are amazing (so nice to not be sitting 'next to' anyone if you have a window seat). Flight got in earlier than expected."

The configuration of the old United planes in business is horrible, 2-4-2. I was on a 4 seat and you don't get your own place. By far, Continental planes are much better. Apart from this: Love United"

Cons: "Late arriving crew. Screw up because the ground crew forgot to throw a switch. So we left even later. Got to Charlotte and United had forgotten to request a gate."

Cons: "Purchased tickets 4 months before this flight for a departure time of 6:05pm. Tried to check in and check baggage at 9:30am but was turned away saying I could only check in 3 hrs prior to my flight. Came back at 3:00pm to check-in and they could not find my information. An hour later they find out that they cancelled the flight and moved my departure time to 8:25am for that day. They say they emailed 3 times in May but I never got it (I'm a bit crazy about my email staying clean) so they say it might have went in to my spam folder due to they types of emails they send to customers. They only kept repeating that they notified me so there is nothing they could do. I ended up going to Air Canada to get a flight from PHX to RNO the next day. No apology, no help, no hotel for the night...Terrible experience by United. They gave me a customer relations group contact information to follow up with for complaint but since they sent me the 3 emails in May about the change, they have no liability to fix the situation."

Pros: "Smooth. No problems. Happy we didn't have to get suitcases through customs because you could handle in Canada. Happy gate was near where we got off."

Cons: "The flight was overbooked and asked for several volunteers to take later flights for travel credit. Ended up forcing those unlucky souls in the last boarding group off flight with no offer of credit or accommodation. Waited in customer service line for hours, literally longer than it would have taken to take off and arrive at my scheduled destination. United representatives could not find a flight that guaranteed a seat (not on a long standby list) that was even in the same 12 hour period. I spoke with a United supervisor who showed zero empathy or concern with the situation. In the end I arranged for other travel accommodations to drive to my family reunion destination. No refund was issued or offered. I was informed I would have to call United customer service after the date of my previously scheduled return flight to explain my situation. I will personally never fly United again and would recommend the same to anyone. Although for the record, I did receive a single ten dollar airport food voucher for my inconvenience. Inexcusable."

Cons: "We had to walk almost halfway to Newark just to get to the flight. It was outside on the Tarmac at the very very very end of the terminal, I've never seen anything like it before. We also left a travel folder in the seat back pocket containing important documents and a sealed envelope of 1000$ USD. We immediately called to retrieve it and at first were told to file a complaint online, no matter how many times we tried to tell them that time was of the essence in this situation. We also begged the united airlines personnel to speak with a manager and he wouldn't put one on the phone. In the end all they could tell us is that the folder "wasn't there""

Pros: "Staff and Pilots did a great job. Wheelchair was much apprecciated!!! Everything was on time or ahead of it. Great landing!! Wish you didn't charge for baggage and would like better snacks--oh for the good old days!"
