Cons: As soon as I started the vehicle on the pay less lot the low tire pressure light came on as well as the change oil light. I drove off the lot at the assistance of my dad. I had paid for the rental for a week, dropped it off a day early and it got a low tire while in the lot. I was not refunded a daily rate nor was I refunded the daily insurance rate. I was also told that as soon as you sign the paperwork that you are signing responsibility of the vehicle to maintain like it's your own. She was very rude and then had me fill out an incident report. I never got refunded.

In the end, they made it right.
Pros: Good customer service. Despite the initial shortcomings, they ultimately made it right in the end and ensured we were satisfied and in a safe vehicle. Prompt shuttle service to/from airport.
Cons: Booked online as 'Ford Focus or equivalent'. Told at time of pickup from airport that it's actually for a Ford Fiesta or similar compact car, which is much smaller than a Focus/equiv and was not what I had booked the rental under. Clerk made it right and gave us a free upgrade to that size range of vehicle. When we were presented with vehicle, Hyundai Elantra, front tires were at wear bars. Seeing as it's front wheel drive and we anticipated snow, this would not work. Looked at two other equivalent vehicles, tires also bald, some well beyond wear bars. Inquired about a different vehicle, small Jeep crossover with good tires all around, and employee offered it as free upgrade.

Great service with Reno Payless!
Pros: The Payless service was excellent. I really appreciated that they had a shuttle that would come pick me up/drop me off without having to wait for a long time. It came immediately when I needed it!
Cons: I wasn't a fan of the car, itself, but that has nothing to do with the Payless service, which is what I value more when renting a car.

Beware: Counter closes at 11pm, despite letting yo
Cons: I booked the car for 11pm pickup but the counter was closed at that time. All other rental agencies were still open. There was a piece of paper with a number to call for after hours, I tried calling this number at least 20 times and nobody answered or called me back.
Avoid Payless at all cost.

Cons: Couldnt rent my bank card that ive been a customer for 10 year's according to u guys didnt pass credit but my credit union that i have had for 9 months accepted but didnt have all the money on card. So payless said no went to dollar rental and the bank card that supposedly said no said yes there. I feel they should do over phone and tell you that. Lost a awesome customer rent cars often.

Cons: Car was a bit musty, or perhaps had been smoked in. Not terrible, but noticeable.
Cons: Had a little difficulty identifying the Alamo lanes at the rental return because the Alamo sign was small compared to the others. Wasn't exactly clear on where to stop at first.

Pros: From the beginning until the end, my first time with Alamo went splendidly. There was almost no waiting time from the moment I stepped up to the counter to the time I drove away in my car. I couldn't be more pleased. There were no hidden charges, everything was as stated on their website. I received a nice, clean new car and when I was ready to return it, the process was hassle-free. I went in expecting some hiccups, but there were none.

Cons: I told the representative at the rental counter that I was going skiing at a particular ski area which would require driving across a mountain pass. I believe he said , "Have fun!"
As I was driving up the mountain pass there were signs indicating whether chains would be required. I live near mountain passes and drive an all wheel drive SUV with mountain rated tires which in my state is considered the equivalent of chains when chains are required. I rented a similar SUV and didn't think about the possibility of chains being required. As I was driving it occurred to me that I didn't know (1) if chains were required, would I need to put chains on the rental car or not, (2) what was considered the equivalent in the 2 states on either side of the pass, (3) did my car have 4wheel or all wheel drive, (4) were the tires mountain rated, (5) were there chains in a secret compartment or would I need to buy chains for this rental car. These issues should have been addressed by the representative before I left the counter as he had been told my intended destination.
Cons: The service at RNO was horrible and rude. The support at the call center as well. After receiving terrible service the car wasn't even ready when they said it would be and I had to wait more. Then, they overcharged me on my return and had to deal with that. I will never rent here again, or let anyone I know rent from Dollar. I hope they treat their employees better than their customers.

Cons: Price given was deceptive. When we went to pick up the car the sales people convinced us that the insurance we had bought via Kayak was essentially worthless, then they sold us insurance that cost about $25/day, more than the rental itself. A second problem is that only SUV's had IPod ports -- this seems pretty basic in this day and age.

I explained this to the Budget representative as I was waiting in baggage claim and she said there was nothing she could do and that it would be over $600 to pick up in Sacramento--more than 3 times the price I had booked online. Cons: The Budget staff behind the counter at the Reno airport where helpful, but I ended up not getting the car I had reserved - a compact because of the limited choices/availability. So then we tried an SUV but found the one we had selected had an open recall so that went back on the shelf. Ultimately I ended up with a slightly discounted Luxury car for my four day trip. When I did finally get the car, it was dirty on the inside and only slightly better on the outside.

Cons: When I arrived at the airport, within 30 minutes of my expected arrival time, I was told they overbooked and the only thing the could give me was a pickup truck instead of the car I had ordered. I don't like driving a truck and would be traveling from Reno to Sacramento that week, so I had to decline the truck. It was late and we had to get alternate transportation to our hotel since I was told other agencies were also out of cars. We wasted another couple hours and $$ going back to the airport the next day to get our car. I was extremely disappointed and have never had this experience with other rental agencies.

Cons: This car drunk of cigarette smoke to the point where I had to open the windows to not feel sick. I thought I must have missed a selection box for smoking or non-smoking, so we didn't return the car and ask for another one at the time of pick up. However, at the time of drop off we spoke to Thrifty about it, since we learned that they have s no-smoking policy in their cars, and they gave us a free day of rental. The moral of the story is that if you are given a car that smells like cigarette smoke, go immediately back to the counter and ask for another car.

Cons: We were transporting bikes and needed a large F-150 truck. Instead, they didn't have one available so we ended up with a small truck that barely fit everything. Our reservation was made 2 months in advance!!!
Cons: The agent who rented us the vehicle was not knowledgable about the care or what we as a customer needed. She flat out lied to us. The vehicle was horrible smelling; so much so I put my jacket on the back seat and it smelled so bad I had to plastic baggy it to pack in my suitcase and was without a jacket. We drove around in freezing temps with the windows down because it was so bad, for the 3-4 days we had it. I febreezed it and they didn't even help!
The entire experience was bad. They refunded part of our $ but doesn't make up for having to go to my own wedding in a smelly dress and jacket. Won't rent from them again. Totally ruined my trip.
Cons: Upon picking up my rental from the canyon country, CA location- I was informed my rental had not been cleaned and was offered a car wash voucher to take care of it myself. I declined; seeing j was simply renting the car to get back home in the Lake Tahoe area. Driving the vehicle- no problems, didn't eat or drink in the car and am not a smoker. I simply wanted to get home. I returned the vehicle to the Harrahs casino location, left the keys in the drop box and called the original canyon country location to confirm I had dropped the keys properly (I did not feel comfortable simply leaving car/keys without checking out with the attendant). The following day my bank acct states I had been over charged by hertz- I contacted customer care and told them the situation and she informed me I had been charged for cleaning- I immediately contact the canyon country location and asked them to contact the harrshs casino location to confirm with them that I was not responsible for the unkept nature of the car- I had picked it up in canyon country with no cleaning been done prior to me renting the car. The gentlemen (Sam) at the canyon country office has attempted to contact the harrshs location for two days, along with myself trying to contact them- they are not answering any phone lines.
I will continue to attempt to resolve this- and I will never rent from hertz again- seeing How impossible this whole situation has become. How unprofessional the harrshs casino location has been is something I've never experienced with any business.
Please resolve this issue. I'm exhausted attempting to fix your companies lack of communication between branches

Pros: The only thing I did not like was the hard sell on the insurance, I already am fully covered by my insurance but they just don't let up, then the rep showed me some tiny dots on the windscreen and she said she had noted them, but if I came back with any increase in these tiny dots, I would get charged $20.00 for each dot! Scary!
