Accra Kotoka International Airport reopened for regular international travelers.
Travelers must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test issued within 72 hours before departure. Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a PCR test result.
Ghanaian residents who depart Ghana and return within one week will not need to present a negative PCR COVID-19 test. However, they will still be subject to testing upon arrival at the airport.
Travelers must complete a Port Health Declaration Form before departure.
Upon arrival, each traveler age five and over will be subject to a mandatory COVID-19 test conducted at the airport. This test carries a USD 150 fee to be paid online by the traveler at https://myfrontierhealthcare.com/ and present proof of payment to the airline prior to boarding. The test results will generally be available in 30 minutes.
Travelers who tests positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Ghana, asymptomatic or not, will be required to undergo mandatory quarantine and treatment at a designated health facility or isolation center, for 7 days at Government of Ghana expense. Those who receive negative test results will be allowed to enter Ghana with no quarantine requirement.
Airline crew are subject to quarantine until their next flight.
Transit passengers, except those who were diverted to Accra for an emergency and where they will remain in the airport throughout, will also be subject to mandatory COVID-19 testing as outlined above.

Cons: "To be clear, I do not have an issue with overweight people. That being said, I was put in an extremely uncomforatable position on this flight. My seatmate was a woman who easily weighed 400 pounds without the slightest exageration and was 5'7 at best. She carried all of her weight in her midsection and behind, which was truly uncomforatable for us both. As she attempted to squeeze into the aisle seat it became apparent that with the armrest down it was not going to happen. She raised the armrest and finally maneuvered into her seat and part of mine also. Not only was her bottom in my seat but her stomach was resting on my entire right leg. It felt like a toddler was sitting on my lap. This was beyond uncomfortable and embarrassing for us both as it was clear that she knew how intrusive this was and kept apologizing. My leg went to sleep after about 15 minutes so I asked to be let out. I approached the flight attendent and requested that my seat be changed to which she responded that the flight was full. I know it wasn't because I could see an empty seat about four rows in front of me. Finally I sat back down but every 15 minutes or so she would get uncomforatable and get up to stretch. The first time it was a welcomed break, until she came back and flopped in her seat with so much force that it felt like someone had ran and jumped in my lap. This occurred 4 or 5 times during the flight. I am not sure what the policy is for obese passengers, but it should be relooked. As a passenger I should not be put in a position to address another passengers weight. I also should not have to pay for a seat and only get to use 2/3 of it. Lastly, no one should ever be allowed to put their body parts on top of another persons lap and that be considered ok."

Now I am in my seat with both my carry on and personal item stowed below. So was I comfortable ? No. Was I upset and annoyed, on top of being tired? Yes. They need a better system."

And they cancelled my ticket, then I did not get any other choice than buy a new ticket at more than $700 just from Abidjan to New York. But some other airline companies, when you miss your flight they find a next one for you and you just pay the fee, but not to cancel your ticket. This last case can happen only if the traveller does not show up and doesn't call."

Also our flight had electrical and engine problems at our first stop in Freetown. Once we landed in Monrovia, it took about 35mins for them to let us off the plane because the doors were not working and opening up. Once we finally got off the plane, it took a whole 2 hours for them to get our baggage e off the plane because spmething was wrong and they couldnot access the baggage to take it off. I am aware that planes can “fly with one engine”, but flying a plane with one engine along with it having electrical problems is not safe and A RISK! why take that risk of something bad happening, not only would lives of innocent people and their crew get lost, but that is a million dollar assest that could get lost and a PR nightmare. It is a shame they took that risk. They also dodnt tell us until we landed. Had I known before we took off at Freetown I would have gladly fot off and found another mode of transportation to get to my final destination. SN Brussels is know to send their sh*tty planes to Africa, because there are always problems with the planes heading to that continent. It is just another obvious proof of their racism."

I am used to boarding in zones so things tend to be less congested leading up to the jetway. - This may or may not have been something the airline could have changed but sitting in the plane for 5 hours waiting to de-ice was unacceptable. The entire food service was served in this time so no food was available for the 6 hour flight to Accra. Had we been able to wait in the terminal, passengers could get their own food and the food for the flight could have been saved. Also, they ran out of chicken dishes by the time I was served and I was left with fish only. Had I been a vegetarian, this would have been unacceptable."

We finally took off only to be rerouted to Lome instead of Accra which took an additional 2 hours. The whole thing took an extra 7 hours. From 11am to 12:55 pm we were provided only 1 meal and ice cream. The staff were not apologetic at all, they said if we wanted to be mad at someone it should be the weather... They should probably go back to customer service school."

On the flight we were told Edinburgh connection would be rebooked so go to desk, however we made the flight just and so did the luggage, if we had waitied as told to rebook our luggage would have landed in Edinburgh with us stuck in Brussels. Won't be using again."

Food in Economy Plus was mediocre at best, it seems United are catering this from a correctional facility. Overall good experience due to the staff, but nothing that wow'ed us beyond being better than what we have come to expect from United."

However, in future I would avoid using BRU as a connecting point unless more time between flights."
