Pros: "At checkin I had a problem with trying to get my luggage checked to the place it needed to go. The 'rules' did not allow for what I needed. The girl worked for literally one hour so that I didn't then need to go through customs/immig twice in hong kong. Service onboard could not have been better."

Pros: "China Eastern Airlines was labeled as a budget airline so knowing this (so I thought) I prepared myself for an uncomfortable ride. The seats had just as much cushion as delta or American airline and definitely more than WOW airline. I bought a seat cushion expecting to be uncomfortable for a 14 hour flight and I didn’t need it. In fact I ditch the cushion after I landed....one less thing I had to carry. I’m 5’5” so I usually don’t have an issue with leg room. I had a somewhat comfortable ride considering the flight was as I stated before 14 hours. The food was really good and the flight attendants were very nice and professional. I enjoyed my flight and would definitely recommend them."

Cons: "This was terrible.. Coming home, they would not let me on the plane from Bangkok to San Francisco.. No reason given.. Was there in plenty of time, the agent was a jerk and would not let me board.. I had to buy another ticket.. On Philippine Airlines. I will never book with you again unless you all make it up to me.. This was terrible ."

Cons: "Noise reducing headphones not provided in business class. Touch screen video monitors don't function easily. Between meal service snacks were only crackers, nuts, etc.. Better been meal food should be available in business class. The ac and USB power outlets at the seat were both mechanically inoperable, but the cabin crew was able to move me to another seat."
Cons: "The bus ride to the airplane was unpleasant and long. Why does it take over 20mins to get from the check in gate at Singapore airport to the plane? And we we're exposed to the cold and rain when we alight the plane in Shanghai and the bus ride to the airport was crowded and unpleasant."

Cons: "People were allowed to be on their laptops and watch movies but we were not allowed to have our phones out to watch movies on our phone. That was not cool for those of us who did not bring laptops and downloaded all our movies and books to our phones. The plane was also freezing cold and the blankets were thin and small. No wifi that worked in Shanghai either for American service providers."

Cons: "Some flights have personal movie screens while other flights have communal screens that just show funny cat videos over and over again, then movie trailers. On the longer flights that really gets old. There was an entire section of the plane where no one bought seats because they were too expensive. After take-off people wanted to move into those seats to sleep but the stewardesses said that we would have to pay 1000 CD for the honor to use those seats...these were the same seats that we were in just a bit more in the front of the plane....people were pissed. These were not 1st class seats.... Uncertain if I would use this airline again...."

Cons: "Because of flight delay out of Singapore I missed my connection in Shanghai. The process of rebooking took too long. Not enough desk agents handling rebooking for the number of people stranded. After passengers are rebooked there needs to be a procedure to accommodate those who will need a hotel . Where do we go to get on the hotel shuttle? What line and where to wait and line up? Had a hard time finding somebody who knew what to do."

Pros: "7 repeated announcements of delay. Flight was supposed to leave at 415 pm, but did not until 9:20 pm. Light rain, no ATC delay in Shanghai, Waiting area is away from the main corridor, with no restaurants and toilets, so it's a hassle climing up and down the stairs."

Cons: "delayed 1st flight meant i missed my layover and had to spent 16 hours waiting for the next flight back home. hotel they put us in was dirty and old. staff was unfriendly and brusque. food was very poor. and no coffee or even tea. movie selection subpar."
Cons: "I am a very frequent flyer. This is by far THE WORST company with THE WORST customer service. I'll skip the details of the flight itself. We are getting ready to sue this company in the United States for their outrageous behavior on our way back from Phuket. We bought 3 round trip tickets from New York to Phuket and back with an overlay in Shanghai. On our way back, at 2am, when all offices are closed, the China Eastern team refused to put us on our plane. They notified us that our tickets were canceled without a prior warning (no refund, by the way). They couldn't help us by, let's day, selling us the same tickets again, and they did not offer any other accommodations. The manager refused to share his supervisor's information and concealed his identity by turning over his badge. They only told us to call the hotline number on the reservation. The number did not work. As we didn't have anywhere to go at 2 am, we stood by the registration counter and kept asking how the company was going to help us get back home since we paid a lot of money and did not receive any prior notice or at least a refund. The manager called six security guards and ordered them to get us away from the counter. Because of the China Eastern despicable customer service, we ended up overpaying $3600 for 3 people, missing an important business meeting, and losing wages as a result of a missed day of work."

Pros: "First all, the flight changed to stop at PVG, not Nanjing. When it depatured from PVG to Taipei, inside the airplane was so hot. We talked to flight attences 2 times, still didn't be adjusted. And food was terrible, too. They provided food too late, then they rushed out to clean the food trates. There is no enough time to eat! The experience was so bad with them."

Cons: "The crew was rude. My boyfriend and I felt discrimated against as we were not Asian. Multiple people must have been smoking in the bathroom because the plane smelt of cigarette smoke the entire flight to Shanghai. I am actually appalled."
