I fly to Asia twice a year for the last 15 years. I always try to fly JAL. It’s always a pleasant experience. Since TripCase shut down, this is the first time I used Kayak for live trip notifications. I was very pleased with Kayak’s quality and helpfulness of notifications. I will be using them going forward.

This flight was leg 2 of 2 leg journey. The staff at baggage re-drop in Tokyo were fabulous. Once at gate when time to board, had to take standing room bus to the tarmac to board. Did not like getting out to plane and having to wait 5 minutes until they opened bus door.

First experience with JAL so was okay to pretty good. 10 hour flight in premium select seat. . Seats in that category should be better than pretty good. Seat pan a little short for tall people but plenty of leg room; I think JAL in process of new planes? Also, — they could have offered a bit more water throughout flight and meals not the greatest. That said, certainly 200 percent better than a very recent AK Air International flight in similar cabin class in comfort and meals.

It's a domestic flight, but still the JAL quality shone through. The crew were polite and helpful and even prepared little gifts / souvenirs for the children on the flight, and everyone got a simple drink. The free wifi for entertainment on the personal device was also a great boon, and the shows surprisingly decent. Would recommend.

We ordered for non vegetarian Hindu meal but instead they served us vegetarian Hindu meal. That was also not good. It was very annoying and aggravating. Hope our return from Tokyo to jfk on March 27 same is not repeated. Caterar should understand difference between non vegetarian Hindu meal and vegetarian Hindu meal.

Allow gold card holders (Group 1) to board with their guest like other One World carriers do

Checked baggage process is confusing and time consuming especially when checking oversized bags. Very slow agents didn't help.

Food was great, Entertainment was bad, movies were not current and just did not have good variety. Granted I was tired so cranky might have played into my evaluation. Overall based on cost I definitely would fly them again. I am a million mile flyer on another airline, the service on JAL really beats all airlines.

The beefsteak on the lunch menu was excellent! I usually do not eat airplane food. I loved it.

Flight was too cold. I wore a regular cotton tee and it wasn’t enough. It was a night time flight so I would have thought a blanket would be provided to passengers. A 4 hour flight and no options for a meal? I flew Asiana the next day from Seoul to Manilla. Same duration, 4 hours. They give everyone a pillow and blanket and serve a meal. Why is United so cheap and holding back meals and amenities? Also, they promote too much gay stuff and DEI in their advertisements. Please be mindful of other beliefs and don’t shove your gay ideology down my throat.

Two meals were served on this flight; one was a repeat of the meal I had had on the flight immediately preceding this one, which was bad enough I didn't even try it. Drinks were very limited. All I wanted was water, and on a 10.5 hour flight, I was given 3 cups of about 3 ounces each.

We took business class, It was comfortable and I was able to sleep.

Everything was perfect. A flight attendant even brought me snacks after I declined food due to my desire to force myself to follow the destination time zone.

For the most part, it was an enjoyable experience. It's the 2nd half of the journey was a bit uncomfortable. It was on a noticable smaller plane compared to the previous one.

Food and entertainment aren’t a thing on these regional flights. But it was a smooth flight. Could see gorgeous countryside through the large windows. The earplugs are a nice touch for the prop engines but the hum of the engines did not bother me. Grateful the option exists to easily get from A to B.

Both flights were delayed going to our destination and leaving, and communication about the delays was not great by the airlines, now the crews were phenomenal and great to be around!!

Delayed. It's not our first flight with them either, it's actually our 3rd and all 3 were delayed by hours each time. It was a myriad of delays. On one flight we boarded after being delayed for a little over an hr, only to be told we were going to sit in the plane for another hour before departing. Once landed, we waited another 40ish min to get to our gate. On another flight, flight was delayed just under 3 hrs but atleast we got to wait it out at the airport terminal. Its just a bad experience overall flying with Alaska Airlines.

We had to take the train to our next gate but had time to eat a meal. When to our next gate and asked employee about gate and got informed that gate had been changed so back on train to next gate. So thankful she was there and informed us of gate change. Because of the issue the boarding was slow but employees were there and busy helping all and keeping it organized.

Very pleasant and the flight felt like it went by quick

All flight entertainment is from your own device and there was an $8 charge to connect. also 1 drink and a small bag of pretzels was all that was given to us. other that that the seats were good and the flight itself was as expected.

It is very bad they do not give you money back

They lost our bag and it took them days to find it. Terrible communication and lots of lies about where it was. Their system hasn’t merged with Hawaiian yet they route people on shared flights with Hawaiian, creating an administrative nightmare.

It was not a good experience. When I went to check-in one of Alaska's employees told me I had to check-in with Hawaiian Airlines, which was on the opposite side of the airport. I made my way over and when I got to Hawaiian Airlines they told me I was in the wrong place. The employee saw the look of defeat in my face and was able to get someone to check me in and text me my boarding pass. I had to make my way all the way back to the other side of the airport and barely made my flight. I think it would be very helpful for employees to be more informed with these Hawaiian flights that are operated by Alaska so they are not rerouting people to the wrong terminals. Also, clear signage in the check-in area.

Same as ive said before. All airlines and TSA need a massive revamp.

Alaska airline sis usually great. However flying nowadays is so stressful and feels more like an interrogation rather than a fun part of the vacation experience. From the TSA to the cramped seating it feels like i am entering a concentration camp having my picture taken via TSA and being forced to have my body scanned. Then we are forced to sit in beyond cramped conditions where our knees are crushed into the back of the seat in front of us with almost no movement possible constantly being reminded to put our seats forward when we want to alleviate the horrendous pain of our knees being shoved into hard plastic. My knees looked like i had kneeled on gravel for 2 days straight after flying for a total of 14 hours for my roundtrip. I keep hearing from our elders about the jopys of flying in the 70s and 80s but now it feels like the joy has been removed as a means of acquiring more financial gain by the airlines. Not to mention that my flight via hawaiin airlines was delayed so long that i had to miss my connecting flight which then forced me to miss another day of work and the only recourse i had was a wonderful conversation with a lady via Alaskan Airlines when she got me a new flight the next day due to the delay. She was very pleasant and helpful. She got me onto a nother flight the following day but when i have to travel 2 hours from springfield Illinois to st louis it was a huge hassle having the delay in the first place. Not even the tiniest bit of compensation was offered either. Not a voucher, not a free meal, not a slightly better seat, just a reschedule when in no way was the delay or the missing of the connecting flight my fault. I want to reiterate that Alaska Airlines is really one of the best airlines overall. I fully understand they dont control the TSA, but it does effect the overall experience when TSA is making it feel like we are going through a re-education camp with rather strange videos playing on the walls the entire way through Security. With that said, Alaska should take cosnideration from years of past and make the flying experience fun again. I understand profit is important, but if just ONE airline made flying like it used to be 40 years ago and stopped making it such a money-driven experience, then i, along with many others would choose to fly more often. We see the smaller soda cans and we laugh, we see the tiny snacks and scoff, we see the ridiculous wifi costs and choose to not pay for it because we download our own prior to flying. Why not get everyone to use the wifi by making it like 2 bucks rather than 8 bucks? Make a much larger first class area with slightly lower costs so it doesn't feel like we are mere peons boarding a cattle car? Create some more leg room and watch how fast people are clamoring for your airline over others. Not one airline is actually catering to the general public, if they did, they would see so many people seeking out their airlines above all others and it is just that simple.

Both flights were late 2+ hours with ZERO communication from the airlines or their staff. No offers for compensation. WiFi didn’t work for streaming and they said to only use browsing but that didn’t work either. Waste of $$. No drinks only boxed water or apple juice. No snack. One of the worst flight experiences I’ve ever had.

The ticket and bag check in was chaotic at SEATAC. No clear communication or signage for bag drop off.

This was actually an Alaska flight. I was not able to check in online using the Kayak app or the web for Hawaiian or Alaska airlines. So I contacted Hawaiian and they advised that I had to go to the counter when I arrive at the airport. So I waited in line at the Hawaiian counter for 45 minutes. When I got to the ticket agent she advised that I needed to go to the Alaskan Airlines ticket counter. So I went to that counter which thankfully was not busy. I received my boarding pass and then went to security. I arrived at the gate as boarding was beginning. The frustration is that Hawaiian or Kayak should have directed me to the correct ticket counter. When it is “operated by” a average person doesn't know what that means. Kayak app was silent on what action to take when I was unable to check in online and Hawaiian just stated my ticket number and confirmation numbers were invalid. Communication is key and this process could be cleaned up. Thank goodness I am savvy and speak English, I can’t imagine this process for someone who may not be.

If I knew I would be on Alaska Airlines flying back, I never would have bought the ticket. My flight kept getting delayed and Alaska always seems to be late which is why I don’t fly on them.

Good. They changed our gate very late and then when we landed, we had to wait 20 minutes to get off the airplane because another plane was in a slot.

Flight was delayed but the real issue is how long we sat after boarding. Space very limited for an overnight flight and seatbacks didn’t recline so it was almost impossible to sleep.

The staff made sure I was comfortable, moved me to a better seat with more leg room

The whole experience what excellent, from Anjou at the ticket counter to the attendants on the flight. Although it was an older plane, it was a very good flight. One of the best flights I have had on Air Canada!

All was good with comfort and ease of boarding. There was confusion from what gate to board at. Meant moving a long distance but I allowed plenty of time for this.

Economy middle seat was so narrow that I could not sit back comfortably with passengers on either side of me. Over the 9-hour flight, with my body slightly twisted most of that time, my previously-healthy left knee became very painful, even though I got up to walk multiple times. The knee is still painful 3 weeks later. Otherwise, it was a nice flight, but I was crippled over my entire vacation.

The problem in part was with the airports, not really the fault of Air Canada. Confusing directions regarding the gate, in Seattle the recommended shuttle train entrance was not working. Simular problems in Toronto. Baggage arrived in good time. Marx Bros movie on entertainment from Seattle. I was told I was laughing too loudly, by the flight attendant. No lounge in Seattle. Lounge in Toronto excellent.

Dealing with Air Canada was totally miserable and as a result of their website incompetence, lack of customer support, and total non-responsiveness we could not use this flight. We have made a formal complaint to Air Canada and are waiting to hear back, but if prior experience (more than one hour waits on the telephone with no response) is any guide, we wonder if we will ever hear back at all.

People were very nice and helpful. But the plane is noisy, and crowded. Seats are too small. Plane was too cold too. Air Canada app is very slow. Couldn't upgrade seats to the next section. Also surprised that basic economy seats were actually standby.
