Pros: No problems
Pros: Brought me back safely
Cons: The flight got pushed back 6 hours! I almost missed the train to my hotel when I finally landed.
Cons: No
Cons: My flight was delyed i told the stewerdess to check what time we would land she said i would make it in time for connecting flight.
Pros: Very quiet red-eye flight, slept the entire way.
Cons: Ground crew not employed by China Eastern, failed to give boarding passes for connection to JFK, when I asked about it I was told you can get it in Shanghai!?!?
Pros: food and service
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Had to process in and out of immigration then back into airport No transit area
Pros: I liked playing tetris and pacman with a controller that was like that of a console. My flight had a lot of empty seats, and I noticed they staggered the seating so that there was nobody in front of me or behind me. Flight crew was genuinely nice and helpful even though we didn't speak the same language. The little cup holder was actually pretty cool. There even seemed to be ample leg room compared to other Chinese international flights I've been on. I've flown previously with china southern and China eastern, so that is my basis for comparison.
Cons: They didn't give me boarding passes for both flights (had a long layover in china). Other airlines printed both at the start of trip. This added quite a bit of confusion for me, seemingly unnecessarily. Also, I'm a bit disappointed in their free hotel room deal for long layovers. When I had a long layover previously with either china southern or china easter (can't remember which one), I got my own free hotel room, a free meal, and a free ride to and from the hotel. That was a real perk for my 12 hour layover. The deal with xiaman is you get a free hotel room, but you have to share it with a stranger of the same gender, and you have to pay for taxi to and from the hotel. Although you do supposedly get a free meal, I chose not to take them up on the hotel offer. Instead I took them up on their transfers lounge. This is a dark, quiet room full of dingy, dirty padded chairs and people sprawled out and snoring. I would have stayed more than 15 minutes if there were more phone charging plugs, but instead I went and ate mcdonalds and found a plug in at the kfc. Aside from all that, I would suggest getting some better Hollywood movies to choose from, as xiamen's competition has them beat there as well, in my opinion.
Pros:
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Xiamen reps at KUL didn’t let me board because they said my middle name on boarding pass didn’t match with the name on Chinese transit visa. I got this Chinese transit visa just to transfer because of the airport layout and that part was also didn’t make sense. They didn’t accept my middle “Y” on the boarding pass and it was so much of hassle to argue and finally let me through. Will never fly again on Xiamen.
Pros: None
Cons: Seat space is too small. When serving drink and food, the crew put drinks tray above my head ,and passing food to other passenger right on top of my foods, I have to stop to eat . EVA Crews need to be train, learn how to more respectful, more professional....
Pros: I was upgraded
Pros: The crew was great
Pros: Special meal options: I enjoyed seafood meal.
Cons: Departure was delayed and arrival at Taipei was also delayed
Pros: I enjoyed their seafood and lactó ovo meals. There are many vegetarian options i can choose.
Pros: Seats were as comfortable as expected. Staff tried to help you find one with no one next to you to help. Lots of blankets and pillows.
Cons: Food and drink abundant but not great.
Pros: Planecdmlty. Had the tow to myself! Food and crew excellent .
Cons: Too much unreasonable charges!!!!!
Pros: Large screen, plenty toilets, good leg room, kind stewardess, great handicap assistants
Cons: Food can be better
Cons: It was overall good goong there, however my trip back from Manila to Ontario was cancelled due to employee strike and i had a 12 hr lay over in Taipei and diverted my flight to LAX and have to pay almost $100 for my Uber ride. I will have to ask China Airlines to reimburse my Uber expenses.
Pros: all the crew are amazing.. it was good ,most of all safe sound
Cons: just wanna about the night kit. like toothbrush and toothpaste ,eye masks . the rest are better..
Pros: Front cabin business class
Cons: Aircraft not clean, very filthy, food very poor, entertainment almost non-existent
Pros: It was cheap, had a pretty good selection of movies, was able to choose my seat.
Cons: The food was pretty mediocre, staff was pretty stingy with drinks, ran out of drink choices, not that comfortable seats for a 15 hour flight, most of the staff was pretty rude to non Chinese customers. You get what you pay for.
Pros: This flight was shorter but i felt flight attendants were still very attentive.
Cons: Didn’t have individual screens to watch movies. One movie didn’t have English subtitles. Not that i cared because I was in and out of sleep, just pointing it out.
Cons: The crew was not very attentive compared to other times I have flown business class. Not very solicitous in terms of offering water regularly, etc. Also, surprisingly little food offered over a 14 hour flight from Shanghai to New York. A reasonable dinner at midnight, shortly after takeoff, then nothing till almost 12 hours later, and then not the hearty breakfast one would expect after that much time and on business class but a very small snack. Not very satisfying.
Cons: Airline service was bad.
Pros: Take off was reasonably on time.
Cons: The plane was so old that is still had cigarette holders in the armrests. Exit row seats did not decline, which had for a back-aching 5 hour flight.
Cons: Upon arrival in PVG, CEA representative met me and gave 2 meal vouchers even though I was supposed to receive a hotel for the 20 hour layover. She denied that any hotel was supposed to be provided and told me to go talk to the transfer counter, despite it being obvious that no one was at the counter. All CEA counters in the airport were in fact closed because it was 1am, and the best the phone hotline could do was verify my reservation but tell me that since all their employees had gone home there was no one in the airport they could reach. They suggested I “quickly look around” the airport to see if I might find a CEA employee to show the reservation to. I ended paying for what turned out to be a horribly dirty motel for the night. Will definitely be avoiding CEA in the future. Also, plane smelled like people were smoking on board.
Pros: Stewardesses hard working and nicer looking
Cons: leg room was very poor.
Pros: We got food (unexpected) and the seat was mildly comfortable. I don't feel like I can complain. The staff were nice and the trip relatively short. I liked it.
Cons: There was basically no entertainment. Only a small screen but I could not read the English subtitles and I could not hear the audio either. I brought my tablet, but the flight would have not been very tolerable without it.
Pros: Entertainment was horrible. Didn’t have my own tv to choose what to watch. Food was bad. Seats where hard.
Cons: Seats, Entertainment, food. Announcements didn’t undertand cause they don’t speak english.
Pros: The flight attendants were very concerned to make sure I and others were comfortable throughout the flight
Pros: Business class. Great seats with good recline, nice and roomy. Ate one meal, which was fine, passed on the second. Flight staff was friendly and attentive.
Cons: Luggage not was not transferrable to next leg, final leg was Thailand the next day, 16 hour layover. Needed to pick-up luggage, store, then check them the next day. Would be great if luggage would connect the next day, as other airlines do,
Pros: Quick flight. No frills.
Pros: smooth flight
Cons: My flight from Changsha to Shanghai was cancelled and I didn't fine anyone speaks English even the China Eastern Airline employees at the airport , even there was no one trying to put me and my son on another flight !!!!!!!!
Cons: Two side by side gates. One was listed on upcoming flight board the other via verbal announcement. Above gate the flight was listed above gate but actually boarded from other one.
Pros: The plane boarded quickly and took off early.
Cons: Food was bad. Entertainment was bad.
Pros: smooth flight
Cons: My flight from Changsha to Shanghai was cancelled and I didn't fine anyone speaks English even the China Eastern Airline employees at the airport , even there was no one trying to put me and my son on another flight !!!!!!!!
Pros: Being fed twice was nice. Good selection of movies.
Cons: Food was not so good. Was no vegetarian option so pack ahead if you are vegetarian/vegan.
Pros: Very nice staff and flight
Cons: Nothing to complain about
Pros: the order of boarding the plane
Cons: food was dry
Cons: u had to transfer ur luggages even though its the same airline. what a joke? u had to get through numerous security points to get through the airport what the hell?
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Airplane was loud not with crying babies but passengers yelling over one another. Food was mediocre, and plane had no entertainment consoles.
Pros: Empty seats
Cons: Everything else. Staff was rude and did not speak English, food was terrible, and the airport was very confusing. We had a 4 hour layover at Xiamen airport and instead of going straight to our gate, they made us go through immigration, then transfer services, then back through immigration. We landed at 5am, the transfer services open at 6, then check in opens at 6:50, but we weren’t allowed to check in until 8am because our flight was at 10am. We basically stood in line without anyone giving clear instructions and waited at different line ups for 1 hour each. Horrible airplane, horrible airport. Never transferring here again.
Pros: Almost nothing, this was a terrible flight and experience! The movies were good, that's about it.
Cons: No online check-in, long waiting at in-person check-in. Rude, inattentive personnel; worst is that every passenger in transit need to go through customs in Xiamen which is terribly complicated. No word about this upon booking or on Xiamen airline's website. Customs in China isn't a nice experience either. Nobody was able to find the right way for check-in, it was a mess. I will never fly again Xiamen Airlines and I recommend to everyone to avoid this airline under any circumstances.
Pros: Check-in and boarding were hassle-free and efficient. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was passable, and attendants were quick to refill water and other drinks.
Pros: The crew was friendly
Cons: The food was horrible, the flight was also delayed And the entertainment was very poor. I will never use this company again
Cons: No
Pros: The plane is very modern, clean and fresh. General procedures of check-in and boarding were smooth. Food is definitely very good for a regional flight - good choice of entrees.
Cons: Lack of English language abilities from the airline staff. Small choice of beverages (a tiny glass of red wine only is offered to the meal, otherwise you're sticked to water mainly), entertainment on a 5+ hours flight consisted of a couple of Chinese movies on a main screen, flight attendants retreated themselves to the galleys after the meal services on both PVG-KUL and KUL-PVG flights
Pros: Getting off of the plane
Cons: This was a discount garbage carrier. I have ridden on cargo boats off the coast of Nicaragua that I would recommend before Xiamen. They don’t give you your connecting boarding pass when you leave the country. You have to go through China’s bullshit customs service three times just to get to your next flight. Chinese customs is like a bowl full of retarted fish smelling their own farts. Six people doing nothing while one blithering idiot Stubles through paperwork.
Pros: This leg was continuation of flight that began in Xiamen. Same plane and crew. 787 Dreamliner layout is efficient, generous legroom and recline is better than American carriers. Crew works as team, fast and courteous. Very helpful and professional, Water offered frequently, trash pick up kept cabin neat, bathrooms always clean. Passenger announcements are clear and crisp is English and Chinese.
Cons: Really, no complaints. More entertainment choices would be appreciated however is not my priority.
Pros: I liked the price of the trip and free hotel for long transit time.
Cons: Early arrival in Xiamen (5am) nothing open and no way to exchange money for taxi or food. Eventually found ATM that solved that problem. Wasn't dressed for or expecting the cold weather. Communications were a problem.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Airplane was loud not with crying babies but passengers yelling over one another. Food was mediocre, and plane had no entertainment consoles.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Cons: seats 26A and 27A are terrible seats. The seat divider is 4-5 inches wide and protrudes in to the footwell. When the passenger in the forward seat places his seat all of the way back. It is almost impossible for the person in these seats to get out to the aisle.
Pros: I enjoyed their seafood and lactó ovo meals. There are many vegetarian options i can choose.
Pros: The premium economy seat was pretty comfortable, and much better than those I have experienced in economy on other airlines, the food was really very good, the plane was very clean, the crew very professional, take off and arrival were both on time.
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: None
Cons: Seat space is too small. When serving drink and food, the crew put drinks tray above my head ,and passing food to other passenger right on top of my foods, I have to stop to eat . EVA Crews need to be train, learn how to more respectful, more professional....
Pros: Boarding was delayed in Taipei although the flight made it in great time
Cons: Website
Pros: the headphone was so great that i was away from the noise, and i do had a good sleep on the plane.
Cons: it’s a pity that i missed the hot snack of premium economy.
Pros: Food, crew, handicap assistant, stewardess
Cons: No screen/tv
Pros: Excellent customer service
Cons: 15-20min delay to board
Pros: Service, extra blankets and pillows.
Cons: Very full flight. A little chaotic in SF airport. Rules for hand luggage different / ended up having to check one bag that I didn’t have to with Alaska Air.
Cons: Would fly China airlines again
Cons: Dont expect for them to deliver on transportation and accomodations if you fly on Business class as adevrtised in their web page. It was imposible to get them to answer my requests by phone, email and in person.
Pros: Aircraft was clean and fairly comfortable with adequate legroom for avg height people, though tray and screen placement can be improved on.
Cons: PVG airport gates could deal with more seating, at least double... and better handling of delays.
Pros: Flight was on time and efficient. Crew was polite, professional and efficient. In other legs of this trip the experience was not so good. On this leg, however, I noticed that the crew was very accommodating to the passengers and never seemed bothered by special requests.
Cons: Food was okay. We ordered 4 different types of vegetarian meals, but only received on type of vegetarian meal. Movie selection was not great, but I still appreciate that each seat has its own personal on demand video screen.
Pros: The service is phenomenal. They served so many meals i felt like a bear in hibernation, waking up, eating and going back to sleep.
Cons: I don’t have anything bad to say. The service was really good.
Pros: Lots of room”for stuff”, so you aren’t digging in your attaché case all the time, almost like a desk area. We had eaten prior to departure so I asked to be served the meal later and they had no problem.
Cons: We got problem when checking in, there was a group of people that didn’t allow us to do check in, and forced us to pay some amount to have another flight. Then we mis the flight. This could never happen to us or anyone but it did to me! We have to book new flight back to Bangkok. If Kayak authority see this message, please guide if we could have any compensation from missing the flight. We totally disappointed with Shanghai airport Thank you
Pros: Very quiet red-eye flight, slept the entire way.
Cons: Ground crew not employed by China Eastern, failed to give boarding passes for connection to JFK, when I asked about it I was told you can get it in Shanghai!?!?
Pros: I like that I was boarded quickly and taken care of.
Cons: I didn’t like the food or snack. Not my thing but I’m sure others like it.
Pros: Comfortable seats in First Class, Flight Crew was very attentive, food was very good as well
Cons: The constant smell of cigarette smoke wafting through the cabin, even though it was a non-smoking flight
Pros: We had heard terrible reviews but overall they were great! We didn't run into any delays. One leg they moved us to another flight (2 hours later) but they paid us $150 each... which was awesome.
Cons: Food was terrible but we had heard that and carried our meals on, plus snacks.
Cons: the transit in Xiamen after my flight from Hong Kong it was 7 hours I have stay in xi amen. The promotion and/or advertisement saying that I have eight hotel for me to rest in Xiamen or a city tour. After I arrived there.all of those was saying nothing provided today. all I can have is leading me to a lough where just seats, tables for passenger to sit there. provided tea, water, Chinese made coke with natural temperature no ice . just sit there for 7 hours to wait for my connection flight to LAX
Pros: The flight is easy to check gave us 23kgs check in luggage 46kgs if u have intl flight. Free hotel with breakfast. Not bad at all.
Cons: They require us to get the luggage and check in again tomorrow.
Cons: u had to transfer ur luggages even though its the same airline. what a joke? u had to get through numerous security points to get through the airport what the hell?
Pros: Plane was new and clean. Flight crew was very friendly. Liked the mood lighting during the flight. Good selection of films to watch during the long flight.
Cons: The food was okay but they ran out of selection a couple of times so I had no choice what to eat. But that’s it nothing else I didn’t like. Really good airline.
Cons: wrong food?
Pros: Their service exceeds every other airline I have been on. Amazing flight attendants with quality food and comfortable seats.
Cons: A little pricier than other airlines but definitely better!
Pros: Late night flight, crew was good and timely
Cons: I got sick from the spaghetti dinner served 2 hrs before landing.
Pros: Bathroom and food good. Boarding was fast. And so was disembarking.
Pros: Great crew and very attentive
Pros: Could be a bit more friendly
Cons: Movie selections going east and going west
Pros: The crew were good
Cons: Food is not good
Cons: Would fly China airlines again
Cons: Too much unreasonable charges!!!!!
Pros: Nice clean plane. Pleasant crew.
Pros: Service & price
Cons: Not much legroom for economy customers, limited entertainment & food selections
Pros: Wonderful service. Comfortable flight. Boarded on time. Food was good and entertainment was good
Pros: The ticketing and boarding process went well.
Cons: The staff was short and rude at times and the food on the return trip was the same two choices for the meals and "breakfast" was a smear of tuna on a huge bun -- basically mostly bread. The movie selection was old and outdated.
Cons: It would be appreciated if the movie were more updated.
Pros: Nothing! Couldn't be worse. The crew don't care about passengers and can't speak English either. We had a very long delay for no reason. The plane landed at a different airport that it was supposed to and then the airline bussed us to the Shanghai airport. Terrible terrible operation...
Cons: Everything! First please hire flight attendants that can speak English. Then provide better food. Even with Chinese standards the food had a bad quality. The stewardess didn't even understand that airplane mode exists for cell phones. She screamed at me to turn it off. Entertainment was a disaster
Pros: There were a lot of empty seats around
Cons: If there were so many empty seats maybe allow people to spread out more

We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
