I used to every time get excited to fly with Thai. this time i had two Thai connections between Tokyo - Bankgkok and Bangkok-Delhi, both times my two young minor children were automatically seated away from me and each other also during checkin process. it took a lot of time and convincing the agent to get my own children seated with me on long international flights! Food service was worse than expect for name of Thai airways!"

Cons: "First, I did an online check-in and was able to secure a seat for the first leg of the flight, but was able to get any information on my second leg. So when I arrived at the Thai Airways counter to load in my bags I asked the Thai Airways representative about the missing information. His response was that he could not get into the ANA system and that I have to go to the ANA counter to ask for that information. Given that my layover in Narita was only about 45mins landing to going to the gate, I was not comfortable with not knowing if I would be on that flight or not. The Thai Airways representation at the boarding counter did help me a bit and got in touch with a guide in Narita to help me get my luggages and get to gate properly. I wanted to note that we did not arrive in Narita on time due to the high air traffic so the plane had to circle around for 15 mins. When we finally landed I had about 15 mins to get through the custom and ran to my gate. When I received my ticket I was shocked that I got a middle seat on a 13 hours flight! If I have known this earlier I would have paid for a better seat, but since I was not able to check-in online and didn't receive any info about this flight prior to boarding I was not allowed to change on this full flight. In addition, the plane ride was awful. The food was disgusting and the seat was very uncomfortable. The seat did not even recline back! I don't expect much from a short distance flight but for a 13 hour long flight, I at least expect the seat to be slightly better than sitting on a rock against a brick wall. All in all, this was a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE I went through. The stress and the discomfort on the plane was an experience that no one should ever feel while traveling. It was an awful nightmare on an ANA flight. I would like a refund on this flight with no exceptions. Sincerely, Jessica Saesue"

I tried to contact china southern airlines, they are always busy, after several attempts, finally somebody on the phone talking chinese shitty accents that only understood a few english. Chinese passenger crowded and with the shitty attitudes. One of the old guy drop the heavy coffee cup on my son's head and hurt real bad when he pulled his bag immediately after the land when he is not supposed to. I have a return ticket to deal with again with pain in a few days. then I will never fly with this shitty airlines. At Gongzhau, kids are hungry in transit, tried to buy food, told they only take Yuan. there was no ATM in transit. had to exchange Yuan and thats the only option there if you want to buy something. Airport wi-fi sucks, no connectivity even after logging into the shitty local advertisers websites. Finally, crew were to manage some kind of food, but did not like it at all. shitty shitty. do no fly this airlines of chinese route at all."

The problem is your greedy Chinese luggage handling thieves who work for your airlines in Chinese airports. Whenever they can steal from luggage, they always try to steal from passengers, particularly American. I have had multiple experiences with theft from Chinese airports. I have been to China and back to the USA five times. Many times, items have disappeared from my suitcases in Chinese airports. That is why I decided not to move to China to live but instead move to Indonesia. However, if I fly any plane that transfers my luggage in China, I can usually expect to have my luggage robbed. Although this time, nothing was missing from my luggage, that fact that your people had to wrap my suitcase in plastic (because they did not know the secret for relatching it) and resend it a day later, that is proof that one of your airport personnel opened it to see what he could steal and then got caught because he could not close it again. I am really really really tired of you Chinese thieves. I blame all of you because you are all a product of Mao Tse Tung’s godless atheistic evil society. The Chinese have proven to me again and again that they cannot be trusted. A Kong Chinese official even stole my Ohio driver’s license when I transferred through that airport on a previous trip to Jakarta. I understand your problem. If you fire all dishonest luggage department workers, you will not have any workers remaining. That is why you will always rank as a third world backward primitive society even though you buy expensive airplanes that you don’t build and dress your people up like professionals which they aren’t. AS LONG AS Chinese airport luggage people are dishonest and cannot be trusted, your entire airline is a failure. That is not prejudice against Chinese people. I know some honest good ones. They are all Christians, the kind of good people the corrupt Chinese government hates. An atheistic country is an evil country. Do not expect to be respected by honest people. We had to be re-routed via 3 separate flights jus to make our international connection thanks to our initial flight being moved up 2 hours EARLY. They closed the door in our faces. That added 8 hours of travel time to our trip which I had booked to minimize travel time as I was traveling with pets. United is the WORST."

They offer a very good service in the economy class which includes free wine (and not only sodas) and a large selection of free newspapers which I value a lot. Newspapers are much more interesting to read than watching movies in my personal opinion. Overall, when aboard Lufthansa, one does not have the feeling of cheapness seen so often on competing airlines. A few years ago, when flying from San Diego to New York, a 5 hour flight on a major US carrier, passengers were not even offered a free drink. Everything had to be paid for. In comparison, all food and all drinks are free on Lufthansa which includes not only wine but also Baileys (a sweet liquor). Given the excellent service, ticket prices charged by Lufthansa are a bargain even if at a small premium over the competition."

We were placed in Row 63, which is the LAST row on the plane and does not recline. For a 15 hour flight this seating should not be used. It is completely unreasonable to think people will be ok not reclining, and honestly the seats felt more straight up than the normal seats. After discussing it with the crew for half an hour on a full flight they were able to move us to other seats. But were unable to move us to business or first for a discount. End point: these seats should not be used! It was so miserable even thinking we might get stuck with them. And if they do stick people there you should be comped, that was not worth the same fare everyone else payed for coach."

The airline basically chose the hotel for me because it would have been another hour wait if I decided to change the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel I met another passenger that had been in the city for 2 days back and forth to the airport because her connecting flight was late to Guangzhou and the airline had no space on the other flights. The wifi connection at the airport was poor and I was unable to use the food voucher at the time I arrived as it could only be used for breakfast. Their is no wifi offered on flight and the food was okay."

Please keep in mind I purchased the ticket on July 3, 2016 and Airfare.com was unable to provide me a complete ticket until the night of August 16, 2016 with a August 17, 2016 departure date to China! I can honestly say this was the worst travel booking experience I've ever had."

We had to recheck our bags and go through immigration and customs several times on our way from Tokyo to NYC. The food is barely edible. And worst of all, you are joined by very pushy and rude Chinese people who spit and hack up their phlegm the entire time. Expect to hear those gross hacking noises from all around the plane. Lucky me, I was seated right next to the leader of the hacking pack. I had to beg a flight attendant to find me a new seat. I would have upgraded to premium economy (as I did for my outbound flight) but they don't let you do it at check-in. Unless you can access the Chinese version of the website, they make you wait until you get on the plane, at which point almost all the premium economy seats are taken (they were in my case)."

After dealing with customer service for over an hour they let me board the flight I already paid for! Middle isle, middle seat at the back of the plane for 14 hours. 1st meal had a very fishy smell so many on the plane didn’t eat it. Someone was smoking in the bathroom too which added a nice smell to the cabin. 2nd meal was a bit better. My seat was pretty tight. (I am 6’2” 230 lbs) Every time I take China Eastern I think to myself never again, but every now and again I have no option. Customer service is almost non-existent if anything goes wrong. They are the only airline that I have issues with almost every booking."

Several times, I would ask for something (for example salt), a crew member would say...I'll bring it right over...and then disappear, not even coming over to say whether they have it or not. The flight was uncomfortable, mainly due to the toddler sitting next to me who was extremely loud and kicking everyone's seats around her. When asked to move, the flight attendant did look if there were seats available but said everyone's free seats next to them had been occupied because people were asleep, stretched out on them. When asked if there were maybe seats in the business class, the attendant wouldn't even hear of it, claiming that that is not area and thus she won't even check. Lastly, the food on China Eastern airlines always leaves me feeling a bit off. Freshness is just not their forte. But what can I say, their flights ARE cheap, so you get what you pay for. All in all, a mediocre experience, at best."

For some reason you have to go through complete security check for transferring flights, and the security check had a long, stagnant line both times I transferred. There is only one bag xray machine for everyone transferring flights."

Cons: "We were not given an opportunity to pre select seats, and got middle settings. Provided by our height, this would have made our experience quite uncomfortable. Fortunately, we were able to find empty window seats to slide in. If the flight was full, this would have been impossible. We called the airline's customer service number numerous times before the scheduled flight, however, always were kept on hold for an available agent for an unreasonable amount of time (at least 20 min each) and never got to talk to anyone. Music kept playing."

Cons: "The food was terrible, only then can eat such things. Also, not fresh at all. Then, you can't keep your phone on flight mode during the entire fly. Poor services, list of movies not attractive at all."

Pros: "Was worried with all d bad reviews I've read. Didn't happened to me at all. I bought a round trip ticket from NYC to Singapore with one stop at shanghai. No issue for me with check in, no luggage lost, staffs are nice. Food is acceptable and I would say even better than United Airline. Large 10" screen with latest new movies. Air ticket price I bought was almost half of what I pay for other major airlines, I would travel with China Eastern again."

Cons: "I had to wait at shanghai airport for about 12 hours to make a transfer to New York. I thought I could do it without any problem since most airports provide a free access to wifi. The airport does have an free wifi access, but you need to have a Chinese cell phone to obtain a wifi code. Without the code(provided though your cell phone) there would be no wifi access. I contacted several staffs from China Eastern airline and the airport for this code, and was told it is impossible. Image how I spend my time there for 12 hours. That was really terrible. It would be my last transfer at Shanghai in any of my future trips to China."
Pros: "It was on-time, and the entertainment was great."
Cons: "Arriving to my seat to find the un-socked feet of the passenger in the row behind me on my armrest was not so great, but hey, China! The boarding process was utter insanity, and most of the cabin passengers were overwhelmingly rude. Two meals in a row of their food was hard, but I wouldn't call it inedible."
