Pros: "Our plane was late getting to the gate. They kept us informed and turned it around pretty quickly. There were storms between Chicago and Rochester so we were rerouted. As a result the hour flight was an hour and a half. The pilot kept us informed and it was a very smooth flight. So even though I was over an hour late arriving I so appreciated the communications and the safer route. AA seems to be communicating more than other airlines and I appreciate that. Flying is absolutely no fun anymore so you take what you can get for the positives."

I never had to use the call button on a flight before, but on this trip I was constantly hitting call or flagging people down. If I had actually paid for 1st class I would have been livid."

I missed my once in a lifetime experience because the airline is greedy at my (and other people's) expense. I missed out on a priceless experience. Not only that, the bag that I checked did not make it off the flight so I remained in DC while my bag went to Medellin. I had to purchase new toiletries and had to make arrangements to get back to the airport. As of now, I do not plan on choosing American Airline nor LATAM for my future flights."

They suggested I waited 9 hours for the next available flight or to get one by AA in Reagan Airport in 3 hours. They told me that transportation to that airport would not be reimbursed and would cost between 20 and 40 dollars. I didn't know the airports were that far apart and the one-hour taxi drive cost me 80 dollars. From Sao Paulo to Washington, things went as well as expected. Once landed everything was horrible."

I heard our flight # announced once. My husband asked one of the attendants about our flight and they said it was delayed an hour. That was BS. We nearly missed our flight because it was boarding at that time."

When i missed my flight that i paid $1,300.00, United said they'd give me another ticket for $4,000? This was a one time offer to redeem my $1,300 Viama said $10,500? I will only buy my tickets from cheapo air from now on."

When you travel to another country they should have at least one person who speaks English. The layovers are ridiculous. 14 hours, 8 hours 4 hours? Good thing God made Beer and pizza."

Many hours later everyone received a packet of pretzels, etc. About an hour before arrival everyone received a sandwich in a plastic wrap. It was close to inedible. Beverage service was very good. However, the amount of food served was unacceptable. This seemed like a budget flight. Very different from the flight to Europe on a Lufthansa plane. This was on a United plane. Will make me think twice about flying to Europe on a United plane."

I think he was profiled or randomly selected for a shake down of extra charges and I think its wrong and i might just quit using spirit if they don't return his money."

Cons: "I know this is my own fault for not reading about it but I wasn't prepared to spend $100 on luggage so that put me in a bit of a bind financially for my trip. I thought I was getting a good deal on ticket prices but with luggage prices I could have gone with another airline cheaper. Plus a complimentary water does f seem like too much to ask on a 2-1/2 hour flight."

Cons: "On arrival at the airport, help was needed to get the boarding pass but there was no one at the ticket counter to help. For that reason, Joe missed the flight. When the representative did get to the counter, she was of no help in helping him get to his destination. He was marked as a "No Show" and his reservation was cancelled. Joe was told his return flight was confirmed. He was able to make arrangements with another airline after spending another $300 to get to Orlando. However, when he confirmed his flight home, he was told it was canceled because he "no showed!" He talked with people in Orlando and I called the phone number on the email received from Spirit after he missed the flight. I spoke with 3 different people who only wanted to tell me their policy. I needed help in getting Joe back to Akron, Oh. They could only tell me that we would have to make a new reservation and pay even more money for him to get home. They did not honor the money that had already been paid to them. They did not help us at all. They could only quote their policy, which was a moot point by that time!!!"

Pros: "My father became ill so I needed to fly last minute, the flight was very affordable. Just be warned the charge extra for everything, including printing your boarding pass at airport."

They started making announcements 40 mins before flight take off time that doors were closing. They did really close the doers for another 20-30 mins. Worst flight experience ever. I will only use for emergency situations."

Cons: "It was a rollarcoaster of an experience! The communication was awful, from the crew to the passengers and even amongst themselves. We were lied to (for the sake of peace) and told many different things, from slight delay, to big delay, to leaving now, to cancelled, to can't fit everyone on our flights tomorrow and there are no hotels, to we may rebook this flight for tomorrow, to we are reimbursing, to we figured everything out, let's go now. We had to be rechecked in, new tickets issued, then sat on the plane for an hour as baggage had been taken off the plane, taken out of the security area to the other side of the airport-lastly, we were told luggage would come the day after, then after landing we were told we wouldn't get our luggage for two more days. It was incredible how poorly everything was handled. Aside from that, we know it is a discount airline, no frills. But the seats not being able to tip back had a HUGE impact on those of us flying for the first time. For late night or long flights, Spirit isn't ideal for comfort and ability to sleep. Otherwise, everything was fine :) Honestly, I won't fly Spirit again if I can help it. Granted I don't know if the crew member was sick, got in a fight or had some other sort of delinquecy, but wow... the lack of viable options and the announcements being made, changing of plans, etc. was unlike anything any other airline would tolerate."

Security check point was over crowed and extremely unorganized, there's no separate lane for those that need priority access because of international conecting flight. Terrible experience."

Had to run carros the airport with out shoes and belt on and in my hand to make it to gate 12. Security check point was over crowed and extremely unorganized, there's no separate lane for those that need priority access because of international conecting flight. Terrible experience."
