Pros: "Flying from San Francisco to Madrid via Munich in economy class. All very good in general, in fact the best experience compared with other airlines I have used in the past for the same trip. Vegetarian meal was good, but only on the long leg. Munich to Madrid was not possible to choose the special meal, but that is not that important for me, so I eat what I could and that was good enough. The crew was super nice. The plane is huge, toilets are literally 'downstairs' and extra room to hang out. I will definitely choose Lufthansa again for my trips to Europe."
Cons: "If you want to reserve a seat in advance you need to pay for it, that's the only thing I didn't quite like because I found it after I bought the ticket. It was not mentioned clearly in advance, and it felt like an afterwards surprise, really? I paid for it anyways. For me it is worth it to make sure I get a window seat on the long leg flight."

Cons: "One of the worst experience I’ve had, if not the worst. Lack of communication between flight attendants at gate was the main reason for missing our flight, after 2 delays from the previous flight. When we got to the gate they closed it at that moment, earlier than it should have. A Mr. Fenney, person in charge at the gate, didn’t help much. Just went through the motion and as slow as possible trying to help us. It seemed he just wanted to pretend he was helping us. Worse was his attitude when telling is the gate has already closed, didn’t do anything to help us, nothing at all. We had to literally get information out of him. We then went to customer service were the same thing happened, a lack of care that we missed our flight due to things out of our control. Even to the point where the agent told us “be sure to be there on time this time”, like if it was our fault we missed it (we told her the details of our situation). Till this point they don’t seem to care. They left about 15 people, that i know of, hanging. If they had better comunication between gates and waited a miserably 5 more minutes (although they closed the gate earlier then they should have) everyone would have made it. Throughout the whole process we noticed that american airlines employees did not care that many on that first flight had connection flights. They were just going through the motion, slowly while all of us were a bit desperate knowing that the layover time was going to be very close."

Unfortunately, the French issued a year ago the following rule: to enter France, the foreign passport must not expire at least 3 months after the return date. British Airways let us fly to London, explaining this to us, how it would be on us if there were problems further down, and that we would have to get our luggage in London. We chose to fly thinking it would be OK, we had listened to an online person who had had the same problem and the French later told him they would have let him in, also I am myself a dual citizen of France and the US, plus I am autistic, an invisible disability (in my case) that makes it impossible for me to travel alone. I usually do not even say it since not much is understood -by those who do not have it- on how to accommodate it However in London BA did not allow my partner to go on. Due to the fact yesterday was Easter Monday, the American consulate in London was closed. We have spent the night in a nearby motel and now, the next day, I am waiting alone back at the airport with our 2 large suitcases while my partner is at the American consulate. We are poor, do not have phone, currency or charger for England, and I do not do well with stress, so it is difficult. Now we cannot easily reach one another. We hope to be able to fly on a standby basis (that's what BA told us we could hopefully do) later today. Sorry for this long letter, I hope it does not bore whoever reads it (if it is even read :). Cons: "I would avoid flying into Newark internationally if I have the option next time. Besides from the obvious that the airport is outdated, it is totally understaffed. There were about a staff of four directing international travelers at Passport Control and they were impolite which created a stressful and unwelcoming experience. The second issue I experienced was at baggage claim. Due to some issue I didn’t personally experienced, non-US passport holders experienced major delays entering the country. This resulted in hundreds of luggage that were left unclaimed from a previous flight still on the carousel. There was only two airport staff at this area so people from the BA flight had to take these the bags off the carousel inorder to make space for our flights bags to fit. It’s was totally chaotic and easily avoidable if there were more airport staff managing this area. This international airport is a national embarrassment, and if you’re a foreign traveler, I would highly discourage you from flying into Newark."

Pros: "Our MAD-JFK flight was delayed and we weren’t going to make our connection, so American Airlines automatically rerouted us through Philapdelphia, and got us to Indy just two hours and thirty minutes later than our original arrival time. I was very pleased wiht this service"

Initially, it's an international flight from Spain and no crew members in my section atleast could speak Spanish. I had to help a passenger who only spoke spanish because the attendant kept repeating an order in english, just getting louder each time."

Cons: "48 hours to get to Philadelphia from Madrid. First flight was cancelled due to plane mechanical problems. Then flight diverted due to bad weather. Horrible flight."

Cons: "I hate American airlines. It is the WORST. We were held for almost 4 hours waiting for "maintenance call" then flight was cancelled. THEN it took two full hours to get back checked bags. By ths point it was 5 pm, had been at airport since 8:30 -- no food offered, no apologies, not even a glass of water. Of course, no flights back to US so I was stuck an extra day, completely messed up school and work. I THOUGHT I was booking with Iberia but it was a code share. I WILL NEVER fly American Airlines again!"

Cons: "The internet wasn't working, and the flight attendant told me there was nothing she could do about it. The touch screens on the back of the seat had difficulty responding to touch. The headphone jacks and headphones they gave us on the plane were not compatible. If it twisted even a bit, it would lose the connection. I understand these may seem petty, but they are things we've come to expect on airline travel. If they aren't going to be there, please let us know when we book our tickets so we can plan accordingly. The flight attendant for my section of the plane was cold and a bit rude. I didn't want to ask her for anything."

Cons: "I paid hard-earned money for an expensive flight to Madrid. Not only were we very delayed on the way there, we were also delayed on the way back. We spent 3 hours back and forth on the tarmac stuck on an old bus in 100+ degree weather being delivered conflicting information, summed up to the seats being "broken". We got a "bathroom break" during which was talked to very rudely by the flight attendant at the gate, and then was almost left behind by the bus on the tarmac. Additionally, once we got onto the plane, it was extremely old (I'm talking no TV's, ashtrays on seats, filthy tables, dirty seats). To top it off, when I went to the restroom in the middle on the flight, I saw flight attendants drinking Tito's and soda in the back in the plane and talking loudly. I am not usually one to complain- but this was a particularly bad experience and terrible ending to my vacation."

During two beverage services she did not ask me if I wanted anything but simply looked at me with disdain and sighed loudly. She wasn't rude; just not friendly and I never once saw her smile. She seemed tired and annoyed. I understand that feeling. I've been a FA for 16 years, still junior at my company, but it reminded me how important body language and facial expressions are when we work hospitality and customer service in the public eye. Cons: "Due to two flight delays, I traveled an additional 24 hours, on top of my 20 hour original flight. Albuquerque Airline staff were rude, dismissive, incompetent, and each individual I spoke with gave me wildly differing information. The two delays (leading to approximately 48 hours of travel) would have been stressful enough, but the callous, ignorant and unprofessional attitudes of American Airlines staff (and staff in general at Chicago O'Hare Airport) really disappointed me. This was even more striking compared with the professional service I received from British Airways (from whom I purchased the tickets). I was ashamed that my country could lag so far behind in terms of basic customer service and problem solving."

You all need to get your priorities straight and think about your customers again."

UAL needs to retire their indifferent employees who are clearly punching the clock until retirement. Several, not all, the flight attendants spent their time in the back gossiping and complaining about UAL management vs bringing out water (which they never did on a nearly 9 hour flight). If you have a choice, never fly UAL international."

There were many people (especially elderly people) who need to transfer another flight in DC. I think they did not make it."

Horrible leg room and person in front of me had seat all of the way back so she was on my lap and I had to ask her to move up. Food just so so - carbs with carbs (pasta with cous cous). The plane was cold and and lacked any of the electronics available on most flights. the service was equally poor with food barely editable and no water offered to prevent dehydration. I was truly disappointed in Air Canada and having flown a variety of airlines around the world would expect more from such a great country."
