FAQs - booking Japan flights

  • Are there airports in Japan equipped with baby care facilities?

Nursing mothers traveling to Japan will have a private breastfeeding area in the North Terminal of KIX where they can breastfeed their children or even change their diapers. You may find the Mamava pods in each terminal if you arrive at NRT.

  • Can I have access to accessibility services at the Japan airports?

Visitors with impairments will receive excellent assistance at the NRT and KIX airports. However, you must contact your airline 48h before the scheduled departure of your flight from SJC and inform them of any services you may require. This will allow the staff plenty of time to organize wheelchair services and other assistance. The facilities will therefore be available when you land at any of the airports.

  • Is it possible to spend the night at TPA?

Travelers are permitted to stay overnight at TPA. Finding a seat won't be a problem, but because most have armrests, don't expect much comfort. For some peace & quiet, look for secluded areas on Floor 3. There are generally enough seats; however, the majority of them have armrests. Instead, spread out on the carpeted floor; additional blankets, sleeping bags, or sleep mats will make you more comfortable. For a comfortable sleep, you can make reservations at one of the hotels near the airport, offering exceptional services, including shuttle transfers.

  • Does TPA allow passengers to fly through with pets?

Pet-loving travelers are in luck because TPA is an airport that welcomes their pets. The Airport's Main Terminal is where you may find the pet relief facilities. They have sinks, garbage disposal bags, and fire hydrants to keep the area tidy after use. These amenities are designed to keep your pet relaxed on the lengthy travel to Japan.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Tampa to Japan?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Tampa to Japan.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Tampa to Japan?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight from Tampa to Japan is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Tampa to Japan?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly from Tampa to Japan with an airline and back with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Tampa to Japan?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying from Tampa to Japan up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

  • What is the cheapest time of day to fly to Japan?

The cheapest time of day to fly to Japan is generally at night, when round-trip flights cost $1,232 on average. Morning departures are around 13% cheaper than evening flights, on average. The most expensive time of day to fly to Japan is generally in the evening, which is peak travel time and where the average cost of a ticket is $1,600.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Japan

  • You might land at Narita International Airport (NRT) or Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Japan. Tokyo is around 40 miles away from NRT, which offers several international flights. On the other hand, the distance to KIX is about 24.9 miles.
  • Get to the Tampa International Airport (TPA) at least 3 hours before your flight departs if you're flying from Tampa to Japan. This way, you breeze through security checks, acquire your boarding pass, have time to check out the airport's fun attractions, and make it to your departure gate on schedule.
  • Taxi services are the quickest way to get to TPA from downtown. They are a good option if you are running late since it will take a taxi of about 15 minutes to get from Tampa city center to TPA.
  • Consider using Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, or Delta Airlines while traveling from Tampa to Japan. They provide incredible discounts on their in-flight service packages. On board these aircraft, you will have access to meals, drinks, entertainment, and sleeping bags.
  • When you arrive at KIX and need a quick shower, there are coin-operated showers in the northernmost region of the main international gate area of the Terminal 1 Building. The showers are located in Terminals 1 and 2 at NRT.

highly recommend for trip to japan only reason why i gave good not excellent is because their selection of movies and tv shows in English is more limited .

We asked for Hindu vegetarian meal in advance and the quality of the food was horrendous. Never flying JAL again!

Japan airline is excellent service .I recommend to Kayak and Japan airline to Frend.

Overall a great experience. One complain was the vegetarian food that my wife had which was mostly boiled vegetables with not much flavor.

Very accommodating and kind airline crews. The plane is also big which makes the passengers more comfortable and relax

I actually didn’t make it onto the flight. I spent quite a few hours trying to rebook the flight just to get screwed out of $5000. Fun!

We booked business class round trip from Delhi to San Diego and back. On our last leg from Bangalore to Delhi we were down graded to economy class which was big disappointment other than that everything was great.

Had an incident with a stewardess who insisted that I take a seat. I informed her that I came to use the restroom and to have some water. After using the restroom, I wanted to stretch my legs out a little cuz my knees were aching from sitting. I understood her concern for my concern and the potential turbulence (she said she knows this route and the turbulence and safety is not to be taken lightly) but I felt that her mood, tone, demeanor, and a lack of compassion for the pain in my knees were not the proper way to address a customer or anyone for that matter. This left a bitter taste in my mouth. It was her lack of professionalism that surprised me.

we have requested for hindu veg. meal during booking. but served meal was of very poor qualty and taste. they can get such meal from 5 star Indian restaurant at Vancouver/ tokyo/ Bangalore.pure hindu veg meal and no AVML

It was good but need mor amenities for toiletries and entertainment

For a 69 year old with health problems I had the worse experience, no wheelchair when I entered a lady told me to sit and wait while a gentleman told me I had to walk to the Delta station, which I did. I had a carry on and a bag, and I was traveling with my service dog, which was on his carrier and the lady charged me for my carry on luggage, beside all the waiting cause of the delay, I had to walk to get my luggage cause no wheelchair showed up, I am so disappointed. I will get in touch with the company. I got home at 3:00 am, not good for my health situation.

Flight was an hour late, who knows why. It was OK, nothing outstanding.

Excellent check-in. Crew was good. Excellent communication from flight deck.

Amazing flight! I have never noticed the uniforms of the attendants before in twenty years of flying except today when one female had the most amazing dress on. It was beautifully designed and showed she was in charge. I never dreamed I would google who designed Delta uniforms . The ultimate compliment is when another woman admires your outfit. . I hope your designer puts it on the market

This had nothing to do with Delta… The flights were on time and flawless. The service was excellent. We purchased seats in (aisle/middle) comfort plus since this was a cross country flight. Unfortunately, the woman seated at the window was 300+ pounds and, as might be expected, covered up about a third of the middle seat also. there was absolutely nothing that Delta could have done about that… I just don’t know what the answer should be. If you purchase a seat, you should should be able to use the entire seat and not just the portion that someone else is not sitting/oozing in. Disappointing…there should be something that could be done….I'm just not sure what solution could be.

The worst part was I was NOT allowed in the lounge even though I was holding a first class ticket and have a premium American Express card. I have flown Business or First Class with many airlines. Delta is the ONLY one who does not extend this courtesy to anyone except people who hold the very expensive American Express card. As a result, I won’t fly Delta if I have any other choice.

The Dekta Rep that checked us in was great. She's very personable, pleasant, and can tell she enjoys her job.

Friendly flight attendants, smooth 8-9 hours flight. Economy seats are small and uncomfortable as usual.

The young man who was our flight attendant in first class was lazy and did not do his job well at all. Never offered drinks upon boarding - actually I take that back... said "are you okay with water" as if I do not want to get you anything else, only passed the snacks around once, got my drink order wrong and then never offered a second round of drinks. He was the worst I have ever seen on Delta and we fly a lot.

Flight left early and arrived early. the whole trip was excellent.

It is clear that someone knew, and competent, is in charge of food at United Airlines at least for the international flights. I was flying in coach, but the choices of the dinner were excellent. Tasty, and appropriate size. I had the beef, which was a little bit like a shepherds pie, and it was good. Nothing comparable has been served on a United flight in years. It will not be confused with three star food, but it is very good for airline food. Even better was the breakfast choice between a cinnamon roll and a breakfast sandwich. I chose the breakfast sandwich which was absolutely delicious and which I would happily order again at my local Starbucks or Panera. It is clear that someone knew indifferent is in charge of the food and it’s about time.

Flight attendant in first class gave poor service (like he didn't want to be there) and food was awful. We sat waiting for gate upon arrival over 45 mins.

This is for UA2274 from Houston to Sacramento. The flight was delayed arriving due to mechanical issues so we left about 3 hours later than scheduled. When boarding the plane the temperature inside was excessive - likely close to 100. Pilot apologized and said it was going to improve at altitude, which it did. But before that I honestly thought there might have been more delays removing passengers made ill from the heat. We were delayed leaving due to another mechanical issue. There was not water on the plane due to a panel that was not secured. They did that quickly, but the combination of mechanical issues was rather disturbing and did not reflect well on United.

Staff members were not helpful they ignored all calls for an attendant.

Terrible. Delayed 7 hours, and cancelled the flight, leaving me stranded and out of pocket $500 for an alternative last minute flight

online check in was not available so i had to get to airport extra early. The flight was delayed and my luggage was lost. I had an argument with the person behind me who wanted to keep her bag on the floor and not allow my seat to recline on a 9hr plus flight. So overall, lots and lots of areas for improvement.

My flight was delayed a very short period of time but they did not hold my connecting flight to San Diego, also through United. So they closed the doors before we got off our plane. They would only have to help the door open for another five to ten minutes. So I missed a court deadline for a manditory mediation settlement conference for my client. I had to get an associate to be there in person and be on the phone with him relaying what he needs to do the entire time. The court was very upset with me and so was my client. United cannot be trusted.

Multiple delays and not straight answer from the United team

For economy, it was very good. Staff was great, they even let some of us change seats for more leg room... Put an empty seat between us which was fantastic for a 12hr flight. Onboard entertainment was excellent, I think over 200 choices of movies/tv/etc The bad was the barely/nonfunctional wifi that cost either $16.99 or 1700 miles (full flight). It was atrocious... Definitely the worst of the last 3 long haul major airlines I was on the last few months.

Food and flight attendents with positive dispositions and friendly behavior, more professional attitudes

Internet was a bit expensive and did not work ask that week otherwise a good flight

Food was ok, but not as good as I have had before on AA.

Pretty good. The food was just mediocre, the boarding and crew were good.

It was very difficult to stretch my knee out and I am very short. I also had a torn tendon in my knee which made it extra uncomfortable anyways. My husband is 6'2" and I can't imagine him flying in that plane.

The plane was broken so we had to change planes.

Food was terrible, all served at once, poor quality . Wine and bread offered only once.

It was one of my worst flight ever. First they were changing the gate for at least 4 times, changing from gate D7 to D12 to D44. Considering the size of the Miami Airport, we are talking about long distance and the train at the airport was not working. Then the flight was delayed around one hour. Then finally we boarded into the plane and when everybody was seated, there was an announcement that there is an issue with one of the tire of the plane, so we all had to get out of the plane with our belongings, to replace the tire. So we had around 2.5-hour delay

No entertainment yatem in flight at seat 51H. Would not shut down either leaving a self moving and openin and changing menus with changes in colors, images brightness levels sort of the type when you get sleep deprivation and image overload when being tortured during an interrogation. 8 hours worth of it. Unable to place backpack underneath seat on that chair. One female stewardess was excellent as she gave up her carryon's space for my backpack but the rest of the iberia crew were very sharp an chtting during the whole flight. The plane did not have hot water so nobody had coffee nor tea. The plane was not up to par to be flying.

I was late from Jacksonville, FL but the limited interaction I had with the Philly crew was great.

The delays and cancellations kept me stuck in Miami for an additional 24 hours, and the whole thing seemed extremely disorganized

Check in staff was incredibly rude and condescending. When I arrived at the gate I had been charged $125 for a checked back. I did have or check a bag. When I brought this to the attention of the staff member who checked me in, she said that she made a mistake and there was nothing she could do about it. I asked her to remove the charge and refund credit card, she said she could not and that I had to call my credit card company to contest the charge. I called Air Canada customer support, was put on hold, after 43 minutes a received a messages stating customer service was overwhelmed with calls and was then hung up on.

I had no communication, receipt etc from Air Canada until hours before flight

All good but I could barely get my arms and legs into the room in front of me. Have never been so cramped before. Plane left the gate on time, taxied very quickly and took off without waiting. Unique. Arrival on time. No problem

The plane is too cramped! Zero leg room and when the person in front of me put their seat back they were basically laying in my lap.

The layover was 6 PLUS hours and we were only given a $15.00 voucher. We missed our first activity in Quebec due to the delay.

the fact air Canada changed my flight from 850 PM to 815 AM with zero regard to the plans i made that last day, the cost i lost out on as things were non refundable amd shortening my first vacation in 7 years sickened me. when we purchase a service thats whats we expect. when we want to change the service we have to pay for that option but you do whatever you want . i called accessibility dept as i have a cpap and an implanted loop recorder first person said no problem just let security know you cant go thru scanners. then i got an email saying i had to fill out a fit to fly form . which again there was NO need to have that none. But that cost me money and time to have a doctor fill it out. then when i went to check in online i was declined i had to see a person at the airport instead. i couldnt get my boarding pass like everyone elseso here I was contacting air canada so I would have a easy travel experience and it ended up being a nightmare with more work for me, more cost and time. the flight itself was great the nightmare around it i will never subject myself to again. i tried to stick with supporting Canada but Air Canada was not worth supporting. very disappointed especially with a dept that is supposed to help disabled people not make an already challenging event not worth going thru at all.

I hope these comments will find their way to AC customer experience team. Me and my spouse 50 years of aged coming back from 7 days perfect vacation... While boarding in FLL flight AC1621, one of the boarding agents (tall aged african american) man literelly yeld at my wife during the picture talking process. MAM ! STEP !! BACK !!! We are not illegal immegrants beying deported, nor are we in the millitary. We are customers returning home. This was unacceptable. While boarding in YYZ flight AC1154, one of the boarding agents (tall aged caucasian) man criticied with several complesant remarks my passport condition saying that I could not travel intl with it due to stain, decoloration, and BLOOD. My passport does not have blood on it! Yes it might be in less than perfect condition, but their are ways to talk to customer that does not imply not allow a boarding agent to be angry fathery like, or a custom agent looking at a suspicious individual. Both experience were less than acceptable for might I remind you a paying CUSTOMER returning home.

Terrible experience, flight was delayed both ways. Limited compensation for the 5+ hour delay. Will not be flying Air Canada Rouge, and don’t recommend you do either.

The boarding was relatively quick, the crew welcoming and flight uneventful. The omission of meals on all airlines is unacceptable especially when the flight is during a mealtime such as this one, (lunchtime), is unacceptable.

Everything was made rather simple, so I appreciate that. All the people I dealt with from entering the airport in Jacksonville to my lonnnnnnng walk to my next gate in Chicago were excellent and very helpful.
