Cons: "I don’t even know how and where to start.. Avianca has given me issues in the past and I have decided a few more times to give them a chance. Avianca has a culture of rude and “take advantage of people” culture. I went through hell on my last flight. Left us on our connection flight in Cali, Colombia made us (15 passengers) wait for our bus we all had to pickup and carry our luggage’s out to the streets rcause they don’t have enough money to pay for a cart when we were actually in that situation because for them. Next day we were transported (they show up 2 hours later from the promised time) we were transported to the airport to actually catch a flight to another different city to then arrive wait 4 more hours to catch a plane to our final destination... a 3 hours and 45 minutes flight from Miami turned into a 4 different city, hotel and nightmare, luggage’s were broke and everybody turned out to be rude rude rude rude!!!!!!... I am still waiting for my $200 promised Boucher. This is my last time flying with AVIANCA. I am a frequent flyer and have made the decision to fly AA from now On... Actually just purchased a ticket which was actually $100 more than Avianca... nothing like great service and respect towards your clients... I’m also making sure NOBODY flys with AVIANCA."

Cons: "Avianca went on strike over a dispute with their pilots. The company waited until a few hours prior to the trip to cancel the trip (which was paid for with 3 months in advance). This was a transatlantic flight so we were forced to buy a vastly expensive ticket in another airline (due to the last minute urgency) which was not direct. The flight was for my 80 year old mother. Avianca forced us to a ridiculous process to refund the monies and only did so after many disputes over the phone and 30 days later. Will never use this airline again."

Cons: "A delayed flight from Santa Marta to Bogota due to bad weather in Bogota. Surprisingly, the connecting flight to New York left on time of course. Also it was drizzling on arrival to Bogota. I still suspicious that they blamed for rain to cover up their mechanical/ management issues or they intentionally delayed our flight so we can miss the flight to New York which they over booked and cut their loss. Anyway, I needed to arrange a hotel myself and Aviance claimed it was solely due to bad weather. I got what I paid for. Their rate was lower for the risk of their disorganized service and possible dishonesty. Or it can be really bad weather earlier. But one of UK passenger told me her daughter couple was in Santa Marta a few weeks ago and they went through the exact same issue. They might be unlucky family members go through the same rare situations. Now I got why Avianca gets bad reviews."

We had an emergency on board with a 3yo and the plane had no emergency kit for children. The seats for toddlers and children are not adequate for their height or weight. Seatbelts don't fit a child. They travel in such uncomfortable seats and conditions. The aircraft was a 190, too small to make passengers feel comfortable, and this is how Copa always manages their flights to all cities in Central America. Very poor service and old aircrafts. People are paying for a quality service not to be treated like cattle. You need to improve your services."

I was really thirsty by the time I got off the plane, and then by the time I got through customs, it had been like 6 hours since I last had anything to drink!! They really should have offered customers AT LEAST water at some point later in the flight."

The gentleman working the register was very pleasant and was a welcome personality so early in the day. As a service member, I would like to thank him for his service. He was consistent in asking patrons whether they’d like to purchase a travel kit for the troops. A few patrons were abrupt and responded rudely but he maintained a level head and pressed on. Great attitude and professionalism. Thank you very much for your support! Also, I was able to get my Military discount applied towards my purchase which enabled me to purchase 1 travel kits for my fellow service members. A little goes a long way and when returning from deployments or coming home for R&R, it tends to be hectic and I, myself have often forgotten toiletries which I was able to get from the USO. The USO staff were also friendly and did an amazing job handling all of the personnel that funneled in, exhausted. Great attitudes and clean facilities. I would love to see an expansion to this USO location. They were full up this day, thank you for having this available to us! TSgt Angela Santiago Otero, USAF"

After spending 2 entire days sitting in the airport waiting, we were offered a "food voucher" for $30, were advised to go pick up our luggage first, but they failed to mention we would be unable to get back through DFW airport security just to eat!! We had to take a taxi back to our hotel for over $100 and they didn't offer help with that or anything else. This airline is the worst!!! Unless there is significant compensation offered, I will do anything and everything to destroy their reputation further. I'm in the marketing industry and am very capable of getting the word out to millions. American Airlines... 9/11...Never Forget."

The lady that helped me at first literally had me making an unnecessary stop, and arriving another 2 hours later, and I STILL would have missed my second flight due to the delay of the first fligh. Thankfully Michelle was very helpful, and switched me over to American Airlines"

Cons: "United Economy Plus bulkhead was awful. I was seated in seat 7D - there was no bulkhead for me or middle seat - just a curtain. The screens and tiny pockets were only accessible over another passenger. The seat stuck out into the aisle so I was bumped by 200 other passengers at least once - not to mention the flight crew. Finally I had my emotional support dog with me and the crew told me I should. It be in that seat - the seat was assigned by the United Accessibikity Desk as a good one for a service animal - and I had zero choice in the matter. Baggage claim at SFO took over 45 minutes to start -I was home in San Francisco in only 20 minutes after getting my bag."

United not overly helpful with alternate flights and arrangements. To make business mtgs, I asked to fly to alternate airport and drive in. United no help with rental car. Had to be very persistent to get a hotel room covered."

There were three of us sitting debit cards in hand to order drinks. The same attendant was very rude to a family with a small child and a man trying to put away his baggage at the start of the flight. I will avoid united in the future if possible."

Felt like the old days two decades ago when flying wasn't so complex. Had read bad reviews of the airline overall and found none of it to be relevant. For the price the experience was just as good as any other airline that boasts good service - "high level and high price". Don't be scared by the reviews online. Spirit is perfectly good."

I was traveling with my kids, so I had to pay for all of them. I booked my flights with Spirit before and never had that issue, yet this time I was not happy about how things went. I told the staff by the bagging area, that online it says something different and she told me sorry I cant do anything about it. I told her I didn't bring that much money with me, but that didn't matter. I had to call my friend to pay with credit card for my bags."
