Service is good and food is very nice.
Pros: "Yes the airline co-operating so nice and staff were helpful. The seat was so comfortable."
Cons: "Business class seats not very long if you are tall. Western meal option is not really very western. Crew is a little too efficient- got woken up 90 minutes before landing to clear the mattresses. Lots of announcements- a bit too much. On time, and quick to respond to requests. Sake was good as was the ramen."

Pros: "Japan Airline is a notch above the rest. The services was constant and consistent, the food was delicious and abundant, and the seats were comfortable. I was surprised at how often they would go up and down the aisles checking on passengers, picking up trash, and serving small food items. To top it off towards the end of the trip they put toothbrushes in the bathroom so you can leave fresh, awesome."

Cons: "The DC China Embassy web site clearly states that a valid APEC Business Card can be used in lieu of a Chinese visa. In spite of this I was denied boarding by JAL. It turns out the system is not fully in place, and eventually I was issued a 10 year multiple entry visa by way of apology. JAL did not waive cancellation fee, and I suffered considerable economic damages."
Pros: "Our flight from Tokyo to Beijing was very pleasant. The flight attendants were very polite and helpful. There was a lot more leg room than most American/European airlines we have taken. The food was quite good and we even got Häagen-Dazs ice cream."

Cons: "Carry on luggage weighed 9 Kg and they told me I had to remove some things. Suitcase was standard carry-on size, fit well into the display frame. I had plenty of room in the two checked in bags but they had already been processed and moved out on the conveyer belt. Never heard of such as small allowance for carry-on luggage, at least on Delta, United and the other airlines I generally fly. My impression was that this rule was not much enforced since I saw many carry-on bags bigger than mine and judging by the effort I saw when people put them overhead, they likely were heavier than mine."
Cons: "I had surgery on my leg a few days before my flight and it was doctors order to have my leg elevated on the flight home. I spoke to the airline at the desk before boarding and told them my condition and that i needed a seat to lay down and prop my leg up and they assured me i was going to have that. Once i boarded they gave me a seat with not enough leg room and i couldn't elevate my leg. I tried to tell they flight attendants over and over about my condition and they moved me to another seat that didn't even make a difference. My leg got extremely swollen on the plane ride and i had to go to urgent care as soon as i landed at LAX. i will never fly China Airlines again, i want a refund!!!!!!"
Pros: "The staff was friendly and helpful. The pilot was very impressive, I don't think I have ever had a smother landing! There were tons of movies to choose from. The food was decent, and there was lots of it."
Cons: "The weight limit of 7kg for carry on bags is enforced. I have never had my carry on weighed before, but China Airlines does. My bag was twice the weight limit, and the man checking my weight offered to check it for free. However, I did not want to check it because it had my DSLR camera and laptop computer with some other things. The weight limit is very small. I took everything out of my suitcase except the laptop and camera bag and it was still too heavy. Then I put some of my lenses in my purse took the camera and other lenses out of the bag and wrapped them in a scarf and managed to get it under the limit. So if traveling China Airlines make sure your carry on is less than 7kg, and good luck if you have electronics you don't want to check."
Pros: "Our first SAS flight from Stockholm was delayed, so when we landed in Hong Kong, an agent met us at the gate and rushed with our passport to the transfer desk to help us get our connecting boarding pass, otherwise we would not have made it to the connecting flight on China Airlines to Taipei, and even our luggages arrived with us amazingly!"

Cons: "I couldn't check in early cause Kayak gives a confirmation number and nothing else. I had to wait in the counter line instead of skipping it like i would do with most travel sites. I was very close to missing my flight but thank god they had a delay. I also left early for problems like these and still had difficulties. And it's impossible to call Kayak, especially if you live in Japan like me."

Pros: "The customer service phone number was impossible to get through on in order to take to someone within 24 hours of my flight in order to make my Special Meals request as I have Celiac's Disease. I was unable to make this selection at booking as when you book through a third party like Expedia, which I did, you cannot access the same internal tools required to make that selection. You can ONLY then call once you have checked in before the flight in order to let the airline know of your Special Meal needs. This is not only a terrible policy as it undercuts those who ARE ultimately still buying tickets to their airline, and that the airline is CHOOSING to sell. It provided me with an extremely subpar experience of the airline but left up to the last minute with doubts about my ability to board a 13 he international flight without the reassurance that I would have ANY meals aboard and no other options should that be the case. Right before my flight departed I was reassured that the information we had requested Expedia relay to the airline internally the day before, who we called when we couldn't get through to the airline, WAS able to convey this Special Meal request and I was going to have food on the flight, so I then did not purchase a bunch of snacks in the airport to have as options. The first meal in, no Special Meal was provided and I had to explain then entire situation all over again. They assured me they would figure it out and get me taken care of. However, no one who assisted me conveyed this to anyone else on the flight and every time food was dispersed, same situation. This was stressful and exhausting and the options provided me were modified to be gluten free, such as an entire plate of fruit for my snack, instead of the protein heavy snack everyone else received, because there truly wasn't extra for that type of dietary restriction. This was stressful and I was very hungry on the flight. One of the attendants got me a few chunks of cheese from first class, but otherwise, it wasn't great. I would advise travelers with Special Meal requests NOT to fly with AirCanada."

Upon arrival in Vancouver we were paged to baggage claim and informed that our bags were taken off the plane and would arrive later in the night. Problem was, we were leaving on a cruise at 4:30PM. Our bags had two cruise luggage tags on each bag. When our bags were delivered to us 2.5 days later in Ketchikan, Alaska - The cruise tags had been torn off our bags. There were a minimum of 8 vacant seats and corresponding luggage not on this plane. I believe Air Canada had a chance to load more cargo and removed our luggage to make more room for the cargo. I will never fly this airline again. I had nothing good to say to anyone on our cruise regarding this airline. Terrible passenger service. The guest services said that 16 bags were delivered in Ketchikan from Air Canada."

On a minor note, I was unable to get a stamp in my passport after using the automated machine...sad...I would have stood in the line to get the stamp if I was told ahead of time..."

Perhaps the staff should be managed better the timing. Lucky yyz is my destination, otherwise i would have missed the connecting flight. Waiting for 30 mins is too long. Also the staff stopped for another 10 m in ns to take care of something else. I thought one staff should only take care of one passenger at a time. It showed unprofessional gesture. Btw I didn't get ckeck in email for my return flight to YYZ."

But the Air Canada flight from Dallas was delayed for an hour and then we experienced computer problems causing further delays. I therefore missed my connection in Toroto and was told by the ground staff I could only get out 2 days later. I was also told there were no hotels available. There were long lines of angry people complaining, and they were from different flights, One couple complained they missed 2 days of their honeymoon. The plane did have seats in business class which they refused to hand out. Eventually they found me a hotel and redirected me through Frankfort the next day. It turned out to be a 27 hour trip. Huge disappointment."

Cons: "The flight was delayed. Air Canada didn't provide hotel accommodation for missing connection. Only reimburse C$100 for hotel stay. The cheapest hotel found near the airport cost C$185. Only gave us C$10 per person for meal. We'll never fly Air Canada again."

Will never fly Air Canada again if I have any other option!"

Pros: "We boarded very quickly! The staff were extremely friendly and made our thirteen hour ride pleasurable. The inflight entertainment had a great deal of new shows and movies. The seats had a decent size and good enough leg room. The flight was smooth, and we took off at a good time. The food was fairly good as well!"

Cons: "Even though this flight was operated by CA and booked through Ethiopian, they would not honor my two checked bags. However, the guy behind me - also going to Ethiopia - they allowed two checked bags, no charge. I always feel like they aren't willing to budge or look up the rules or even just be nice about baggage. I'd rather not give any more $$ for baggage that i'm actually allowed."
