It is not written on the passport, nor mentioned during booking. I’ve been to Latvia four times previously and never heard this requirement. I cancelled the flight with Lufthansa who said I must call Kayak who gave me another number to call and that number then sent an email that said there was a $350 rebooking fee for each ticket, IF they decided I was eligible for rebooking. Yes, we got a great rate, but looks like wasted $ now. I will book directly with the airline in the future to ensure the ability to rebook."

Pros: "We left DFW in extremely hot weather. The ground crew managed the boarding to keep everyone out of the hot tunnel entry as long as possible. Even through there was a delay in boarding already, the crew kept us well informed. The cabin crew was very pleasant and accommodating. Smooth flight and still made it to our connecting flight on time."

So I try to call Austrian, but they work just from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. I start to search all the info the site of Austrian, and find one phone number that seats be working 24 hours. So finally I got a person on the phone who was able to help me. ..."

They had reserved their tickets and I got the flight numbers and when I reserved my booking I paid extra to be on the same airplane as the rest of the group. My plan worked going to Vienna and to Cairo (although one of the planes were delayed 3 hours which ruined our stay in Vienna) but on the way back from Cairo to LA, I couldn't be with the group because I left 2 hours early and arrived in LA 2 hours late. I pleaded that I came with a group but they said I have a different booking so they couldn't honor keeping me on the same plane as the group. I am very disappointed and will avoid my future travel with Austrian airline"

Cons: "I want to seriously complain about Air Canada and Kayak booking systems. I reserved the tickets to Shanghai but there were no place reminding me that I need Canadian VISA to connect flights between two Canadian cities. I am a Chinese citizen who is working at USA and not allowed to change flights in Canada based on the newest government rules. However, in both booking systems, there is no reminders. In my opinion, either Kayak or Air Canada can add a simple checkbox to let the potential guest choose his or her nationality status, then this kind of trouble can be mitigated. We talked and called Air Canada people but no buying. They kept saying this is our responsibility. We bought United Airline tickets at the last minutes and cost us about $2,400 because we cannot wait to get back China to prepare our wedding ceremony and US Visa interview. We are very very disappointed with Air Canada and will keep complaining about this issue. As a service supplier, how cannot you think on behalf of a customer? The air company definitely knows more about government rules than a customer. We did have mistakes of not researching government rules. However, the biggest mistake was we trusted Air Canada and Kayak who we thought had taken care of those kind of issues for us. Thanks."

This should have been indicated when booking the flight, we would have purchased a different flight. When we got on the flight, overhead bin was too small for my husbands carry on and a flight attendant whisked his bag away before we could ask where she was going. She came back without the bag and we asked where she had taken it- she had checked it without asking us if this would be ok. The bag was full of valuable breakables as well as our cash and cards. We asked if we could get the bag at the gate and she said it would come out on the carousel. So we spent 3 hours completely stressed out. Drinks were only served once the entire flight, more water should have been offered. When we got off the plane one of our bags had gone missing. We had to wait 2 days to have it delivered. It was delivered at 4am in the morning. Overall compared to the previous United flight, Air Canada has lots of room for improvement."

The basmati rice had the consistency of oatmeal. The first meal was tasteless and the second meal had too much hot spice, but still no flavour. The bread they gave with the meal was tiny and tasteless compared to the lovely ciabatta rolls served with the regular meals."

Pros: "Toronto->Shanghai Good In general it was a good flight considering how long (14 hours) it was. The new entertainment system has a lot of features and movies. It also has chat to other passengers which is useful when travelling with a group sitting in different areas."
Cons: "Bad Long flight but that is the way it is. The fight map froze on my entertainment system about 1/2 through the flight so the map was useless after that. One side of my earphones also went dead. My wife wanted something better then hot noodles in a cup for the middle meal."

Cons: "the staff are indifferent to a point of being rude. The food is dismal and their cost cutting measures really reflect how bad it has become. It functions like a budget airline now. Try to learn a thing or two from the airlines like Cathay Pacific, Singapore airlines and Qatar airlines."

Pros: "Boarding was fine. The food was not good and the flight attendants sat in the back of the plane instead of bringing drinks and food for a ten hour flight. We lost a day of vacation due to Air Canada not being held accountable for the flight being late as well as sitting on the Tarmac at Haneda airport."
Cons: "We sat on a Tarmac at another airport for five hours without knowing how long we would be there. Also, there was only one crew member that was helpful. Our flight was supposed to land at 2:20 pm and did not land until 10:30 pm at Narita airport. We were not compensated and were abandoned by Air Canada. We had to sleep in the airport since everything was closed."

She said do not understand English and was on the phone looking for instruction how to help weelchair person. I assumed they told her go to check in , so she took me to Chech Airline point wait for bounding pass. The time of arrival to Beijin I was taking care on weelchair by Chinve's lady wery nervous, haotic on security point which cost difiiculties find my passport. and appone delivery me to the plain she ask for money! The last part of experience with ground weelchair services was in SF airport, all foriners workers, create wery unprofessional, nervous atmosphere and demand a money. Looks like AIRLINES OVERLOOK QUALITY OF THE SERVICE FOR THEY PASSANGERS BEFORE AND AFTER FLIGHT. SPEAKING OF FLIGHT. Cons: "since this portion of my flight was cancelled by air china they tried to book me on the next day but my husband decided to come meet me in beijing after getting me a hotel and driver to pick me up the night that i was stranded. i told air china not to book me on the flight the following morning that i wasn't going to take it. they never did that and ended up cancelling the entire remaining flights on air china. this was the worst experience with an airline i've ever experienced."

Cons: "first flight to China was delayed so the connecting flight to Tokyo was missed. no explanation was given for the delay no food vouchers were available that night they lost my bag in china for 3 hours they brought me to hotel in unmarked bus with no explanation hotel told me that air china would only cover half the cost so I need to pay more or share a room the next day, air china's manager was uninterested in helping or explaining there hotel arrangements food on the last flight was just rice gruel and an aged egg. I am flexible but that's not even considered a meal in china. there is at least salt or pickled things in it. audio ports on plane did not work properly. on arriving home, most of the items in my suit case were crushed (coat hangers snapped, boxes crushed, bags ripped open) my dslr camera batteries were all taken (alkaline based ones) I travel between japan and america two or three times a year for the last 30 years. this last trip was one for the books! not sure where to start"

And! They lost both of my luggages! Now I'm forced to stay in Houston airport overnight to catch next flight to go home tomorrow morning. Air China did NOT help anything! They wouldn't even help me rebook my flight when they know I will miss my last connect flight."

Pros: "Overall the service of the flight crew was good, seats were comparable to other economy class flights on other airlines. Boarding was easy, and meals were good and served at appropriate times."
Cons: "Our connecting flight between Beijing and another city in China was cancelled, there was no Air China staff at our airport in the US to handle the rescheduling (the check-in counter staff actually worked for another airline) and so we could only try to reschedule when we got to Beijing airport. There was a staff member at the gate to give us directions to the general check-in area, but then once we got to the area there were no signs directing us where to go. We were waiting in line for half an hour before I learned that we were supposed to be in a different line to first reschedule our flights (a 40minute wait), then wait in the line we were originally in to check-in (yet another 40minutes in line). This on top of waiting more than 1 hour in the customs line. Staff at the airport counters in China were brusque, and they seemed understaffed as the lines were often very long. On the flight, the touch screen entertainment system as buggy and would sometimes freeze, although the selection of entertainment was decent."

Pros: "The on boarding process was quick and efficient at Songyuan airport. Very clean airport, and pleasant staff. Plane had decent legroom in the economy seating. Food was decent for short flight airplane food."
Cons: "Airline crew never gave any status updates about why the flight was not getting ready for takeoff after everyone was seated and the planes doors closed. Sat there waiting for +30 minutes with no updates. Flight crew never gave immigration cards. Deplaning was a nightmare because we had to deplane in several groups because it was raining and the Hongqiao airport would not let us deplane through a jetway."
