Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Everything was great!! Thanks so much!!"
Pros: "Seat was comfortable"
Cons: "Very delayed"
Pros: "Flight was fine"
Cons: "Having my luggage. 2nd flight and 2nd time my luggage didn’t arrive with me."
Pros: "crew very friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Delayed 2 hours"
Pros: "A little late on take off but made up time in the air. Crew was pleasant."
Cons: "Aircraft seemed a bit tighter seating than other WestJet flights I've been on. Still it was fine for a 3 hour flight."
Pros: "Loved the pilot’s sens of humour! Made us laugh which took away the stress before take off!"
Cons: "Late by 2hrs"
Pros: "Seats had room. Entertainment options were quite good."
Cons: "WestJet has lost its Chutzpah. No longer knows it’s identity. Food choices were terrible for a 5.5 hour flight, and the couple of okay choices they were out of very quickly. Crew was friendly enough but no sparkle."
Pros: "Neriande (who issued the boarding passes & took checked bags) and her colleague At the check in desk were amazing - actually going behind the scenes to find a gate checked bag that had been wrongly named and was headed for Toronto when we were headed to LONDON GATWICK"
Cons: "Faulty weather radar on a stormy evening cancelled our WestJet PREMIUM ECONOMY flight. After deplaning and waiting for all passengers without checked bags to be rebooked, we eventually were on our way by car from LGA to JFK airport to meet a British Airways ECONOMY flight with only minutes to spare"
Pros: "Decent flight."
Cons: "Entertainment system did not work. Also they said there is USB sockets at your seat but there were none."
Cons: "Charging customers for meals on a transatlantic flight is a terrible way to nickel and dime your customers for the most basic provisions. Not all travellers carry accepted credit cards, including the woman sitting beside me. Because it is so common (formally standardized) for airlines to provide food on longer flights, many travellers assume their WestJet flight will the same and arrive unprepared. I normally love WestJet for their customer service, but these flight attendants talked down to customers with legitimate questions. I am choosing another airline for my next international flight, although reluctantly so - I hope to see some changes from WestJet for a more comfortable flight."
Pros: "That it was a direct flight. No delays. Friendly gate people"
Cons: "The snacks. The seats hardly recline. Baggage fees"
Pros: "More leg room in seat than expected."
Pros: "I’m always impressed with the service on WestJet, and they didn’t disappoint on this flight. They were warm, courteous and hard working."
Pros: "Staff was friendly and very helpful. Made sure you were well looked after. The entertainment was top notch as well, but would have preferred a tablet or seat screen for international flights."
Cons: "I upgraded to Plus for my flight and I expected more leg room, because I am 6'5. I felt cramped and couldn't sleep. Emergency exit would have been better. My neck hurt after the flight because you have to look down at your phone the whole time while watching movies. Food was mediocre, it wasn't top of the line. Wont fly westjet again."
Pros: "Great flight. It was like the plane wasnt even moving !!"
Pros: "Airport counter staff v helpful. Crew were great. Helped lady with 2 kids. Looked after 1 while mom changing other."
Cons: "Need more seat room. No entertainment."
Cons: "I had to travel with a wedding dress. Westjet does will NOT replace lost Wedding dresses therefore they MUST be carried onto the plane. once on the plane there is no where to hang the wedding dress. The flight attendant was kind enough to take it from me and STUFF it in the over head compartment :( I was furious!"
Pros: "The crew on the ground and in the air were great. So helpful and upbeat. Every attempt was made to ensure our comfort and safety."
Cons: "I was in a window seat next to a small child and her mother. They were both lovely, but I couldn't move for the bulk of the trip because they slept most of the way. Not the fault of the airline of course, but if there was a bit more leg room, it would have been a less claustrophobic trip. I used to fly a lot back in the 70s and early 80s and I don't remember ever being so uncomfortable. I have another trip flying back home at the end of the week, and, quite frankly I'm dreading it. Also, it was impossible to hear the captain's address, the on-board instructions, or various other announcements, in the airport and on the plane. Especially on the plane; the speakers were far too quiet to hear anything the captain said other than it was a nice day."
Cons: "I accidentally seem to have picked a middle seat instead of the window"
Pros: "West jet people cope with constant delays and breakdowns with calmness and desire to help the passengers. My flight was fine, no problems. I trust that any problems that come up can be resolved."
Cons: "I know that snacks are not a major factor on a flight but when there is the exact same choice of Lotus cookies and pretzels on every single flight it is really boring. By the end of three flights over a long day, it’s pretty awful."
Cons: "No headsets Ran out of several of the food items -- I was in row 10 and they served from the front.... A bit disorganized boarding process but it was Mexico ... Comfort? The seats are way too crowded, and the guy in front of me put his seat all the way back so it was very uncomfortable."
Pros: "The stewards were great however no TV anymore and meals because of cost cutting was where we thought it was lacking."
Cons: "Refer to above :"
Pros: "The crew was so friendly. They offered to check bags for free at the gate which is awesome because I didn’t have to worry about finding space in the overhead bins when boarding."
Cons: "Flight was delayed an hour, but it was due to weather, so it is really out of westjets hands."
Cons: "It didn't happen"
Pros: "When I stepped onto the plane, there was someone there to greet you. That was nice."
Cons: "We were delayed 45 minutes without reason, we asked to have our flights switched as we were nervous of missing our connecting flight and were told we could not switch. While we were waiting on the runway for over an hour I asked our flight attendant to check on the status of our connecting flight and she basically told us to hope for the best and that we would have to deal with it when we arrived in Toronto"
Pros: "Bravo for being such amazing human beings. Much obliged for a wonderful flight. Merry Christmas"
Pros: "very amusing male steward! (welcome to westjet flight xxx to cancun!")"
Cons: "well, someday i hope to be able to experience "first class!" travel, but all in all, quite adequate! i always try to fly westjet in canada."
Pros: "Was very windy when leaving Hamilton but the captain handled the flight so smoothly that I was able to sleep through most of it!"
Pros: "The staff was outstanding from the minute we arrived in Hamilton till we got to Edmonton. So impressed with the customer service."
Pros: "Flight was great! Just a bit slow on boarding, that ok , I understand. Out of Hamilton but better than Toronto."
Cons: "Arriving at Orlando, Real confusing and I'm not really old yet. Good thing we had people to meet us, I had no idea where to go."
Pros: "The staff were so helpful to travellers with small children and elderly travellers. They looked like they really enjoyed their jobs...Well Done Christine S North Vancouver"
Pros: "food, flight crew, leg room"
Cons: "crying babies"
Pros: "Pleasant staff and adequate leg room."
Pros: "the connection time in Calgary was short, so overall the trip was verily quick. Generally, the flight was good, clean plane, good services."
Cons: "There was no food for sale on a 4 hour flight from Hamilton to Calgary the flight left at 6:30 a.m., meaning that one had to be at the airport by 5:30 a.m., and for me leave where I was staying an hour before that. It was a connecting flight in Calgary with almost no time in the airport so I didn't get to eat until I arrived in Nanaimo at 1:15 p.m., Ontario time. for health reasons - I'm diabetic, I wish I had known that no "real" food was available. I got a snack which I read had 50 calories, and I got a juice which I normally won't drink to maintain blood sugar levels."
Pros: "Excellent Customer Service"
Cons: "No healthy snack options"
Cons: "To be honest, our stuartess was very abrasive. To everyone."
Pros: "On time"
Pros: "Most things"
Cons: "I was really tired. Long line getting into the USA section. Argh. Let's just say I was grumpy and wanted to get home. Staff wss really nice."
Pros: "staff was great, left and arrived on time and we stayed up in the air!"
Pros: "Liked most but don't understand why a family of 3 was separated. Bought tickets together."
Cons: "Could have ended our trip together but we were separated"
Cons: "I was told to keep my feet on the carpet while awaiting the washroom - didn't release that while standing I shouldn't go too far back to avoid the opening door. Know I know !"
