Packed old plane with uncomfortable seats. Great crew, especially Tara who was helpful to many. No water offered. Hard landing. Discount pricing is the benefit!
Flight was smooth. We boarded early and left Grand Rapids about a half hour ahead of schedule. We then arrived in Lakeland about 40 minutes early. Flights attendants (3) were welcoming and pleasant. Wish we would have at least been offered to buy a bottle of water. No beverage service at all.
I really liked the young man who checked me in and took my bags! He was so kind and was very helpful! I told my sister about the great service and him and she said that is why she flies Avelo Air.
The flight was delayed by a lot and the seats are pretty tight

Short 2-hour flight, we took off on time, ETA was earlier than stated, no interaction needed with stewards, no food, no entertainment on such a short flight.
Avelo provided exactly what I expected. They are a low-cost option with no frills but the experience was comfortable and the staff was great! I will be using them in the future for trips when cost is a priority for me.
Expect nothing and you will be fine. Seats are crammed.

Baggage claim was barbaric at Wilmington. I realize that this is a startup airline but if they hope to grow or even survive they need to upgrade this airport. There is no automated luggage carousel and at times you are not only fighting your fellow passengers to get to your bags but also passengers coming in from other flights who cross right in front of you
My experience was excellent for a business trip. I like the smaller jets because everyone gets either a window or aisle seat and the boarding and de-planing goes much faster. I really like the schedule American Airlines has between Atlanta and NY - lots of options. Crews are great and very accommodating. Sometimes the flights are not full and they let people move around once the boarding doors are shut to spread out.
It was delayed a lot longer than 10 minutes because we arrived 45 minutes beyond our original arrival time. We sat on the tarmac waiting to take off for a very long time. The seats and entertainment options on American were not good and very limited. The ability to text via WiFi for free was nice, but that seems to be standard on mainline flights. Also, gold status really does not do anything for you anymore.
Primary flight attendant in FC wasn't that engaged throughout the flight. All other aspects of flight were good.
We waited over 30 minutes for a gate in Chicago and more than 15 minutes for the doors to open. Cookies were missing from the menu.
On-time, direct flight is great. Having one bathroom out of order was unfortunate.
I sat in seat 22D near the back right of the plane. My phone battery was getting low, so I plugged my charger into the power outlets below the seats in front of me. They did not work. When I asked the flight attendant whether this was the case for the whole plane he said, "No. It's only this one. It hasn't worked for months". This should be noted to whomever services this plane so that maintenance can fix this for future passengers. I was on Flight AA5614 from Grand Rapids to Philadelphia on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
The crew was wonderful, the plane was fine. We left the gate on time, but we had to wait 40 minutes on the tarmac because of all the congestion at Boston.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a flight with American that has been without problems. Mostly delays - this time for over 3 hours. They should have just brought another plane into the terminal but they just had everyone sitting around misterable all day. They turned a 3 hour flight into a 12 hour trip for me (including the “planned” layover). It was ridiculous.
The flight from American side was good, my main issue this was a part of a partner flight with gol, preventing me to use digital boarding passes and doing checking previous of the arrival to the airport.
