Finally they grudgingly gave me only cream, rendering my coffee undrinkable. .....And the list goes on. Never ever will I travel on this horrid airline again!"

Cons: "The woman behind me kept insisting that I keep my chair in the upright position. With two crying babies on the plane, I was trying to relax and sleep as much as possible on the 12.5 hr flight. What bothered me even more is that when the woman asked the flight attendant to tell me to put my seat up, the flight attendant complied instead of telling the woman it was my seat to do as I wished. Why make the seats recline if they are going to bother the people behind? Why tell me to put my seat up if it was not a requirement for all (ie during take off or landing)? I did not appreciate this and it made my flight extremely uncomfortable."

Pros: "Booked these flights though Kayak. Landing from LAX at 0730 at Auckland international terminal and then departing at 0900 from the domestic terminal. This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Cons: "I was booked on flight QF 74 from San Francisco, connecting in Sydney (3 hour connection) to Queenstown, New Zealand. When I went to check in I was told that I needed a transit visa for Australia because of my Indian Passport. When I booked the flight back in September, it was not a requirement to have a transit Visa. I was told by the Qantas supervisor that this was a new requirement as of October for Indian and Chinese passport holders even with brief connections. 9 people were in a similar situation the day before and denied boarding. I understand that things change, but I am very disappointed in the service provided to me. Of course, they could not help me get an evisa for Australia, but they were not even willing to help me search for it rebook a Qantas flight connecting in a different city/country. They did not even connect me with online reservations directly to quickly do something to be able to continue on my journey. They only gave me a phone number to call and sent me away. I tried the number and was on hold for almost an hour. Luckily, my friends were on a different flight on Air New Zealand that had seats leaving in 2 hours, and I almost missed that waiting to talk to someone from Qantas. I booked a ticket with Air New Zealand (by talking to their checkin agent, who was able to connect me directly with a reservations agent via a direct line, which was something I was hoping Qantas would help me with at a bare minimum) and I was able to purchase a ticket for that Air NZ flight and continue on. I’m VERY disappointed in the way that I was treated and not provided with assistance in a timely manner. I would have almost missed that flight and have to miss out on pre-arranged travel plans losing out on an additional $2000 in tour / accommodation bookings."

I know I wasn’t the only person that ever got a visa. I was told to call my consulate. Clearly there was a simple way to get a visa and I was so freaked out until I figured it out myself. The people were friendly and there were lots of times when the lights remained off so that people could sleep. Cons: "Have always booked tickets and flown with my partner. Set alarm to check-in online exactly 24hrs prior to departure as usual and found my partner and I seated in different seats with no available seats to switch. How can this be on an aircraft this big? Thought we might be able to fix it at the counter next day, we headed to the airport early by 3hrs to sort it out. Maybe it was the end of a long day, our flight was close to midnight... Check-in lady was lovely and all smiles but it went downhill from here... No option to sit together and no offer of an upgrade at the counter or at boarding (we didn't ask). Duty-free collection instructions weren't clear prior to boarding ("board as you will and pick up after") and during boarding the staff member seemed over it ("pick up after boarding"). Wouldn't it be easier to advise over the PA so we don't have to ask or if we have to ask explain something along the lines of "you can collect your duty free from the cart after you scan you ticket, prior to boarding the aircraft". The worst part of our experience was the aircraft itself. The plane was obviously very old and tired. My partner's seat kept reclining and wouldn't stay upright (we didn't complain). Rows were so close together that you could smell the person in front's hair when they reclined their chair fully (which they did for the entirety of the flight) and your eyes feel cross-eyed it was so close. The entertainment system was old - we couldn't choose when to watch our movies and as movies aren't the same duration we missed out on a lot of the movies we did want to watch. Finally the selection of movies could've made up for this downfall but it was incredibly limited in selection for a long haul flight. Not sure if it was us but the flight crew also seemed tired and over it too. Luckily we had sleeping pills so we slept through much of the flight but what we did experience wasn't good at all. V disappointed."
