Boarding was delayed 50 minutes. The flight going to Chicago was canceled, causing lots of problems and causing me to rebook and miss an event. I was traveling with a colleague, and he was unable to get on the same flight after 40 minutes on the phone, which meant I had to wait for him after my arrival. My flight down was delayed an hour before take off, had to sit on the plane, then 30 minutes after landing to get to a gate. No real food, only juice/ water offered for the 3.5 hours on the plane. Not a good experience.
Warning- Air Canada makes it almost impossible to get a refund if a flight is cancelled. My flight was cancelled due to a damaged plane. This airline then rebooked me for a later flight. I went on line and tried to navigate their site to rebook to another within my original itinerary and I had thought I had changed it the first time, but since their site is nothing like our sites here in the states, you had to closely look for the links to complete the process. Then came the other problem. Trying to get a $45 refund on check in baggage, that I had paid for one day in advance. I tried calling the airline's customer service. They stated they are unable to process refunds for this. They then referred me to an on line site. This site required you to answer a multitude of drop down questions that are not applicable to a simple flight cancelation. Then right when I think I am done, it asks for an "incident number". I then eventually fly into Vancouver BC International Airport and speak to 3 Air Canada employees. They then tell me they cannot refund me my check in bagge fee. Once again, they refer me to this ridiculous site . They then give me a code to list and tell me to use the airport code, plus the letters AC followed by the flight # to list as an incident #. I tried this and guess what, it failed. Kayak, if you're listening. Something is very ethically wrong with Air Canada's refund process, especially when one of their planes is damaged and a flight is canceled. I have flown for many years, every week for a long time period with many airlines. Please post this so the public can see this accurate assessment of their airline customer service failure.
There should be a visible sign of Air Canada, because I walked all around and I didn't notice where was the desk, I was in a rush for the time because it was very difficult for me to find the D gate.
Older interior meant less luggage storage space. Service was good. I was in business class. I receive better service from other carriers
Check-in was a nightmare. Wouldn’t let us board with our dog even though he has flown on anir Canada before. Only one of us could go. Will never fly them again.
The flight was delayed and my luggage did not arrive. I paid the luggage fee in advance. Luggage was delivered the next evening but it was the wrong bag. 48 hrs I still do not have my luggage.
Wouldn’t allow my carry on because it just did quite fit the gauge Yet seen larger carry ons in the overheads The overheads were somewhat empty Lots of children Felt the flight attendant really didn’t have a real grasp on what she was trying to accomplish 6 people per row x say 40 rows - number of child = number of baggage allowed It’s all good though/ bring small backpack next time
My flight was canceled and next one was 1 hour later. The gate was changed 3 times.
1.5 delay leaving SLC and no option to make right. Stood in line at customer service for 1hr, and could have made a connecting flight to get me to my final destination same day if customer service was adequately staffed
Air Canada makes you cram tour carryon in a sizer - completely unnecessary. Staff is generally ruse although flight attendants on the plane were nice this trip. Even though we sat at the front of economy class and paid extra for the tickets even my wife felt crowded with little leg room. I a six feet tall and it was extremely uncomfortable for me.
