Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Roomy plane."
Cons: "Restroom no working for disabled. Boarding was disorganized and chaotic."
Pros: "Very good crue"
Cons: "Very concientiousvAiur Canada employees"
Pros: "Staff was very helpful and kind"
Pros: "The flight attendants were very pleasant and helpful. My entertainment app was not letting me play a movies so they gave me a tablet for free. I thought that was very nice customer service."
Cons: "Nor enough moxie choices and mostly old ones. The exact same ones were playing on my return flight. The food options were not great. Not enough of a selection. Also my daughter and I were assigned seats apart and I felt not enough was done to help us sit together. We had to handle it ourselves once on the plane."
Pros: "Smooth ride. Friendly and professional crew."
Cons: "Very uncomfortable seats. Wasn't able to recline seat because the passager behind complained that the seat was in her face."
Pros: "Direct to Toronto"
Cons: "Too many to list"
Cons: "Bumped off a direct flight from Toronto to Fort lauderdale with 6 other people. We all booked back in february. They are overbooking 5 to 10 percent now and kicking off the people who paid the least. There is no advantage to booking early only to be bumped. At the gate the AC employee said we would be credited 3 to 4 hundred dollars but we had to run to the customer service desk and then hop on an AC flight to Houston connecting with United Airlines to Fort Lauderdale. At the customer service desk a herd of people waited anxiously to be re booked and compensated. When they started handing out notice that they would send us 200 in the mail there was an uproar that fell on deaf ears. We then ran to get on the houston flight only to find out that flight was overbooked as well. We had to wait to see if they had any no shows. Fortunately I was able to stay on the plane. Upon arriving in Houston we were quickly ran to the United airline gate only to find out that Air Canada had dropped the ball again. We were not booked on the flight. Five of us had no seats booked , while I was booked to depart on a morning flight the next day with no accomodations arranged? Fortunately for us United Airlines picked up the ball and some how got us on the plane to Fort Lauderdale. Upon arriving around 1140pm! should have arrived at 5:20pm direct! we quickly ran to the AC terminal to get our luggage that was originally checked on the first flight. We were told that it would be there. AC employees with no concern at all told us it's not here and it would have been on the united flight that we just arrived on. After I explained that we werent even scheduled to be on the United flight by air canada, so there's no way it made it onto the plane. They looked at us like we were idiots, closed thier office doors and walked away. We ran back to the other terminal( shuttle buses stop at 11pm in Fort Lauderdale?) only to find no luggage again. Fortunately United picks up the ball again and traces our luggage back to Toronto, AC pulled it and left it sitting there. Because of Air Canada's inept employees I missed my rental car reservation and had to buy new clothes for the wedding the next day. They said they'd have the luggage to me by 11 am , it arrived at 11:30 pm the next day. Save yourself the hassel, fly any other airline other then the iconic continually bailed out by the federal goverment airline. If you know, no matter how bad your company and service is ,you will always be bailed out would you work hard? Probably not, hence the atrocious attitude and poor performance of this dead horse airline."
Pros: "Comfort of seats Crew's teamwork"
Cons: "It would be great if you could accept debit cards on board for purchases."
Pros: "Efficient and helpful."
Pros: "Nothing except the plane was able to fly!"
Cons: "Old plane: Old seats No entertainment screens need to rent a mobile device -> this is sooo out of touch with reality of standard flights that it is even embarrassing to mention or to write it! BTW: My fellow flight companions did make fun of this during the entire flight! Not good."
Cons: "Everything. Crowded. Cramped. The curtain between First Class and Economy was archaic and insulting. On my departure flight, I had the unfortunate row that divided the elite from the peasants. IIt enabled me to see how the staff fawned over the Elite while we waited for minimal attention."
Cons: "Old planes,limited food"
Pros: "Staff were friendly. My son got to say hello to the pilot as we boarded. It was a smooth flight."
Cons: "It would be nice if there were some vegetarian options for food on the plane. Even a cheese and tomato sandwich would. D good."
Pros: "1/2 hour late in departing. 2 1/2 hours. Sitting on Tarmac on flight to Toronto. Too crowded on plane"
Pros: "Crew is polite but A c should be ashamed to herd people in such tight spaces that are only for cattle. People were scwarming Fidgety Quite terrible Please no longer recommend the ' rouge ' flights to people Regular flights are ok but the rouge They should be ashamed of themselves and you to for selling them"
Cons: "No tv no food"
Pros: "Fast flight"
Cons: "No leg room Overbooked Bad choice of movies"
Pros: "-Direct flight -The boarding by sections. Less of a stampede."
Cons: "When I arrived to my seat, the overhead compartment was full. I had no room for my carry-on. I mentioned it to the flight attendant. He just shrugged and told me to put my carry-on under the seat in front of me. So, #1, I guess some people bring more carry-on and the staff lets them. And #2, I guess it wasn't tight enough in those seats and even though I'm over 6 ft, the staff had to make it tighter. Also, when it was time to land, I thought my seat was all the way up. It was not fully all the way up. I was half asleep, and all of sudden, instead of telling me, one of the flight attendant pushed on the button to raise my seat. I would've appreciated him telling me. The landing was delayed, but that's no ones fault at rouge. I am trying to be as objective as I can. Hopefully, when (and if) someone at Air Canada-Rouge reads this, he or she has enough "pull" at the company to ask the proper authorities:"what kind of company are we? Are we a bargain basement flight company that offers just basic flights for extremely low prices? Or are we an average flight company that offer great value for the money the customer pays?" Because, from my perspective as a customer who is at his second experience with Air Canada-Rouge, the feeling that I get from flying with you guys, is that your company offers basic flights that doesn't offer great value for the money. It's more a company that "plays on both fields", taking what suits them, and leaving what doesn't , regardless of their customer. I understand that a company has to make money. It's normal. But, at a certain point, don't you have to think about your customers? To be honest, the only reason I flew with Air Canada-Rouge is that I was stuck with no other choices but to fly with you (schedule, cost, etc.) And I know for a fact that I'm not the only one. The feeling that I get, is that your company counts on customer like me. Customers that are "stuck", with no other alternatives. If your company wants to offer many "cheap direct flights" like Ryanair and Easyjet offer in Europe, I have 2 suggestions: #1: lower your prices. #2 :your staff should be more customer friendly savvy. Because those 2 companies, that's what they offer. Always remember: you can put a lot of maple syrup on a pile of sh***t, it still won't taste like pancakes. Thank you."
Pros: "The on board crew was excellent - very patient and forthcoming. I could not say the same thing about the ticketing agents or the boarding procedure."
Cons: "The seating on on this plane was the most uncomfortable I have experienced in a long time - with the exception of my outbound flight which featured the same type of plane. Air Canada tries to charge you for every little thing and I guess that I am one of those people that does not appreciate being nickled and dimed. I will look for other airlines the next time I book a flight to Canada. What a disappointment!"
Cons: "There was no in seat screens for entertainment. Space was much more cramped than other Air canada flight we had. Knees were against seat in front. No snacks provided only drinks. Food was available for purchase."
Cons: "Flight got delayed over 1 hr"
Pros: "I didn't like anything about it."
Cons: "The crew needs to learn how to effectively execute the meal/drink service. It takes entirely too long. Also, on an international Flight, over three hours, you don't provide a snack!? And the small cup of soda we get takes over an hour for some people to get. The seats are entirely too close. I'm 5'9 and my knees were digging into the seat in front of me. Then the guy in front of me reclined and I had absolutely no room. I had to turn to the side. We didn't board until around the time we were supposed to depart. We were over a hour behind schedule. They held the plane to get a passenger's bag off because he was stuck in customs. Unless it's a funeral I need to get to, I'm not flying Air Canada again."
Pros: "Got to the airport at the same time as my son, he got on and I didn't. They said the flight was closed by the time i checked in."
Pros: "In flight entertainment was enjoyable was able to stream music and shows on my phone which helped the time fly by. Comfortable flight relatively smooth and comfy seats."
Cons: "Having to pay extra for a blanket or pillow? That's something I've never heard of. Crew was inattentive as I asked for someone to come by and collect my trash but no one ever came."
Pros: "New Aircraft"
Cons: "No meal service - Bought RB sand was dry - Luggage did not make transfer - Enternament on personally owned I pad only"
Pros: "They our sits for a better one because of my 6 year old son."
Cons: "Seating for Econamy patron flyers has become disgustingly so close together that knees of person behind me kept jabbing me in my back. When person in front tilted his seat back I really felt cramped and felt like a sardine. I am not a tall person. I do have short legs. Maybe airlines should hereafter ban tilting the seats back."
Pros: "The service ,the courtesy, and respect. And the flight was smooth. Great crew! Thank you Barbara Caridad Gonzalez"
Cons: "I could not put my foot up on anything. I had tendon problem. No movie ahhh was boredd. Food was not that great but fine I did have window part but rather not get away from the wing. I don lIke the wING section. . Thank you"
Cons: "My first flight had free snacks and movies to watch yet it was only an hour in the air. This flight was much longer with no movies and having to pay for snacks. Seems a tad backwards."
Pros: "Great wifi ap entertainment feature"
Cons: "Being delayed twice- once for late passengers then for door problems"
Pros: "The ground staff were vl.ery helpfull"
Cons: "The seats were the most uncomfortable that I have sat in in my 60 years of flying. It was a nearly full plane and they ran out of some of the breakfast food by rhe third row was being served. I would not fly on Air Canada Rough again."
Cons: "Rouge was the problem here. Unlike regular Air Canada flights, the seats are extra cramped and there are no seat-back TVs or power outlets. (Also, the crew didn't seem to include any French speakers - weird for Air Canada.) I preferenced AC for this flight. Next time I would avoid them if it's Rouge."
Pros: "We left a little late but the pilots made up for their lost time. We left around 8:40 and we still arrived early than the expected flight time"
Cons: "I thought the flight attendants could have been a little bit more polite when the spoke to guests.you can tell they we trying to make the boarding a speedy process, but their responses to passenger ended being rushed and short."
Pros: "Lack of services in Air Canada is disappointing. I asked for an iPad, which, i was asking to rent to watch a movie and no one got back to me."
Cons: "The seats in coach were ridiculously close together. When the person in front of me reclined their seat, there couldn't have been more than 6 inches between them and my nose. Felt like Spirit Air had purchased Air Canada."
Pros: "This was the first time traveling to Canada. Everything went so smooth. I will definitely be using Air Canada again!"
Cons: "AIR CANADA charged departure time after original reservation was made for our return trip to a later time that was inconvenient that resulted in a hardship driving for ( senior citizens) arriving home after a 4 hour drive from the airport to Ocala, FL.home arriving at 1 AM."
Pros: "Very smooth flight crew attendants very nice"
Cons: "There is no TV to watch movied"
Cons: "No entertainment"
Pros: "Very easy checkin, nice aircraft, very clean, friendly staff."
Cons: "Late for everything"
Pros: "Friendly inconsiderate crew, Comfortable accommodation"
Cons: "1hr and 15 min delay. Would've been nice if there were some notification prior to, would have delayed airport transport Also, the boarding process seems very disorganized. An overwhelming number of people standing waiting to get on the plane. Might consider a better zone system"
Pros: "Crew was nice and i jad a great flight"
Cons: "90% of the links for the movies were broken, had to watch some boring shows"
Cons: "Cramped and very uncomfortable"
Pros: "Everything was as expected"
Pros: "Prompt departure and arrivals very good crew"
Cons: "The chair comfort"
Pros: "the free wifi for your tablet. Clerk for the broken luggage was excellent."
Cons: "Broke one of my suitcase."
Pros: "Its kind of ridiculous that u would take all that away and charge for baggage on top!!! We should be allowed at least one bag!!!! At least bundle all the expenses into our fare so we feel like u care about our flight!!! At least you're offereing us something more for our hard earned dollar!!!!! Come on Air Canada, figure it out!!! No meals anymore on any glights either? Wtf????"
