When checking in, the agent told me that my daughter's ticket was not linked to anyone and looked like she was flying solo even though I mentioned to 5 different customer service agents that I would like to add her to my itinerary. Just when I thought it couldn't be worse, captain announced that they were having trouble with the AC for my part of the plane, meaning 7 hour flight was hotter than 80 degrees. Cons: They don't tell you upon booking that if you want to sit with your party you need to pay an extra $60 per seat. We were on a double decker and my little sister was on a different level from me. They wouldn't let me down to go see her after we were delayed for a couple hours. Ran out of food choices by the time they got to us. Because it was so large, boarding and unboarding took FOREVER. Finally, it was HOT. Uncomfortably so, both levels were extremely warm and there are no personal vents that you can open above your head. I would not fly this again.
Pros: Pros..Communication was excellent, we knew our flight was delayed hours in advance so we could prepare, they rerouted our connection so we didn't have to worry about that on arrival, and the onboard crew was excellent and caring. They helped a family to sit together by asking for volunteers to move, and they helped me locate my daughter who had been delayed by a problem with gate check in. The flight was smooth and we all arrived safely.

There is no way a person could get out of his or her seat to go to the bathroom without making the others in the row stand up and get in the aisle and that's pretty uncomfortable to do on an overnight flight when people are sleeping.

Cons: I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it.

Flight attendants also need to provide passengers with pens to fill out declarations. Some would not provide customers with pens. I will never fly Air Canada again!

Cons: After waiting at the airport for hours with multiple delays the flight cancelled. I still haven't made it home. Today is my little girls 2nd birthday and I have been away from her for 12 days now. The earliest flight I could get is 10am. I won't get home till at least 12 noon.
Cons: Rouge was the problem here. Unlike regular Air Canada flights, the seats are extra cramped and there are no seat-back TVs or power outlets. (Also, the crew didn't seem to include any French speakers - weird for Air Canada.) I preferenced AC for this flight. Next time I would avoid them if it's Rouge.
Cons: I was not able to board this flight. And it was such a disappointment and a shocking first for me. I reached the airport and on being checked at the counter, I was told that I cannot board because I don't have a Canadian visa. It was shocking to learn that I needed visa for a 1.5 hour layover. The website should give a prompt or should share the requirements. And all my ticket money got wasted.
Pros: The ground crew were always nice and friendly. They worked hard to deal with delayed flight, missed connection, and tight alternate connection. Flight crew were also friendly and helpful.
Cons: Four-hour flight delay released in one hour increments without announcement -gate displayed "on time departure" for the duration of the delay. Our hassles were compensated with meager meal vouchers given too late, There was no pre-boarding on our flight (just one big cattle call) which made boarding with child and gear extra awkward,
Cons: The flight was 3 hours delayed and we were not kept informed. In fact, the airport boards still displayed that this flight was on time, which was not correct. I kept getting emails of a change in schedule, but no reason was given by personnel at the gate. This was really a bad situation for me as I was meeting my daughter in Toronto who was flying alone with her infant son and she needed my help.
Pros: Although I didn't have a seat assignment when I went to the airport I was treated very politely and given my choice of seats.
Cons: My first message was to advise me my flight was 2 hours & 45 minutes late 2 hours before I was to go to the airport. My seat light switch didn't function neither did the jack on the entertainment system (unless one held it in exactly the right way while watching. I lasted 1 1/2 hours before I gave up. So I spent 2 hours dealing with being able to fly with Air Canada before I even got on the plane. I'm switching.
