Crew were great and sincere

Qatar gave problems changing flight for emergency purpose and had produced all documents but they wanted further documentation which could not have access because at,a foreign country. Felt they don't care and it was all to do with money which had to pay.

I am a very experienced traveller. I always book an isle seat, especially for long flights (this was 12 hrs.), so that I can get up and stretch my legs etc. The couple sitting beside me were upset that I did not take the window seat. When it came time to sleep, the wife stretched out over her husbands legs, who was sitting beside me. This meant her feet were coming on top of my legs, and her legs were forcing her husbands legs into my space, touching my leg - I had to put a pillow between my leg and his leg. I asked the Qatar hostess if she could please ask the couple to change their positions, so that my seating space was respected, resulting in no body touching. The hostess replied that she was not permitted to ask the couple to change their positions and be more respectful. Fortunately there was another unreserved isle seat and I was able to move. Due to the fact that airplanes have become cultural melting pots, thousands of feet in the air, I think it would be peacefully beneficial too all, if a very discreet announcement could be made at the beginning of each flight regrading seating etiquette, respectfulness towards others etc. this could also be printed in the flight magazine. Thanks in advance.

This ridiculous airline and it's rude, obnoxious staff in Chengdu made a mockery of my friend and I (two 21 year old American girls traveling alone). We had booked round trip tickets back in October 2017 that included a 1 hour layover in Chengdu first, then a 7 hour layover in Shanghai on our way to Bangkok for a trip in Thailand. That was fine with us. Then all of a sudden it changed to a 6 hour layover in Chengdu then an 18 HOUR layover in Shanghai. We decided to deal with it and get a hotel room in Shanghai, no big deal. After a great trip in Thailand and leaving fine from Bangkok to our first layover in Chengdu, that is where the nightmare started. First off, going through Chengdu customs, I don't know if it is because Americans do not travel through there a lot, but the officers pulled us aside and were passing around our American passports around their staff, taking pictures of them with Iphones before handing us "in-transit" paperwork to fill out. As weird as that was, no one really seemed to speak english and we just wanted to get away from them and get through. When we went to the check in counter, they handed me a boarding pass for our flight at 1:50 that afternoon, but then proceeded to tell my friend that she wasn't on a flight until the next morning at 7 am out of Chengdu and our original connecting flight out of Shanghai at 11:50 the next morning was now at 8 pm for her. What could have been simply fixed like it WAS after calling priceline and our travel agent, the staff at the ticket counter and a representative over the phone made our lives living hell. They barely spoke english and the ones that did were very rude to us, saying that they couldn't help us and put us on the phone with China Eastern. FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF we were on the phone with a representative who was talking us in circles, telling us that there were no available seats on the 1:50 and that he could get her on the next 3:45 out of Chengdu, then put us on hold to come back and say he couldn't only change 1 domestic flight in China, but would have to cancel her flight to NY. When offering to pay to just DO IT and get out of china, he said that if he were to cancel it and take our credit card info, it "may or may not go through" and if it didn't she would be stuck with no flights. When asked how that made any sense, he proceeds to say" Because miss, our system sucks," and other rude things like "Why can't you just keep your flight and meet your friend in NY." then him along with a rude ticket counter guy say that he could help us if we took 5,000 yuan out of the bank and paid them cash. TRYING TO SCAM US. After all this drama a simple call to priceline was able to fix the problem no payment involved, and there WERE available seats on all the flights and a domestic flight could be changed. LYING, SCAMMING, RUDE, individuals. Definitely worth a little more money to take any other airline BUT THIS ONE.

Crew were supportive because pain in my heel and they ran out of food selection even though front of plane. Thanks especially to supervisor Jane.

Need to provide further quantity of non veg selection even though front of plane. Plus the taste of all food were Unsatisfactory and could not finish that was starving at end of flight. Recommend hire international famous gourmet chief. Removing casing of my tablet for Qatar security airlines into usa was painful that broke 6 finger nails. Need to warn on the website or ticket security requires remove casing at Doha to usa. Had no issue from USA TO Doha which requires no removal of hard cover casing.

Srilankan Airlines's food was one of the best I've had. I've flown on over 50 airlines and was happy to see that the food was not processed junk as you find in most airlines. The ingredients seemed fresh. The crew were awesome: polite, kind, and considerate. They were eager to accommodate passengers' requests. The jets were new and clean. The entertainment system was touch-screen.

The passengers were loud and ill-mannered. They gave the crew a tough time. These complaints, of course, is not a reflection of the airline.

Nothing really stood out. Having a pillow and blanket for every seat is a plus.

Plane wasn’t cleaned very well, trash in the seat back pocket. Was given a meal that wasn’t on the menu and was unedible. At the end of the flight they spray air freshener down the entire aisle which is very concentrated.

The connecting flight (at Colombo) was delayed for more than 5 hrs and there was no communication of whatsoever. There were barely any Srilankan airline personnel at the terminal/information desk to help assist or inform passengers. No acknowledgement of the discomfort caused to passengers.

The flight itself was very nice quality again. Crew was very friendly, priority boarding for international business. pod seating was super comfortable.

No alcohol beverage service before take off. One of the only airlines that does this. Also flight was delayed again in Istanbul. We were delayed on our layover in, and out of Istanbul. Both times stuck on the tarmac. I see this as a common problem

The connecting flight (at Colombo) was delayed for more than 5 hrs and there was no communication of whatsoever. There were barely any Srilankan airline personnel at the terminal/information desk to help assist or inform passengers. No acknowledgement of the discomfort caused to passengers.

Nothing really stood out. Having a pillow and blanket for every seat is a plus.

Plane wasn’t cleaned very well, trash in the seat back pocket. Was given a meal that wasn’t on the menu and was unedible. At the end of the flight they spray air freshener down the entire aisle which is very concentrated.

Crew were great and sincere

Qatar gave problems changing flight for emergency purpose and had produced all documents but they wanted further documentation which could not have access because at,a foreign country. Felt they don't care and it was all to do with money which had to pay.

Srilankan Airlines's food was one of the best I've had. I've flown on over 50 airlines and was happy to see that the food was not processed junk as you find in most airlines. The ingredients seemed fresh. The crew were awesome: polite, kind, and considerate. They were eager to accommodate passengers' requests. The jets were new and clean. The entertainment system was touch-screen.

The passengers were loud and ill-mannered. They gave the crew a tough time. These complaints, of course, is not a reflection of the airline.

Seats were comfortable, they were aware of alternative meal requests, professional, comfortable temperature

When dropping my bag at check in counter, the employee at the counter asked, somewhat intrusively, what the extra fee I paid was for. When I told her it was for the Al Mourjan lounge in Doha, her facial response and attitude came across as judgemental, and was not appropriate
