Cons: "Delayed 5.5 hours at LAX. Boarded on time, waited at gate for 1.5 hours and then had to get off. During our delay waiting for a 1st Officer, the Captain times out. NO BACKUP CAPTAINS or 1st OFFICERS AT LAX? Then miraculously during our 3rd hour waiting for a Captain they discovered the 1st Officer was going to time out. So, rather than KNOW this while searching for a Captain, they waited for 3 hours and then had to find a 1st Officer to fill in. Result 2.5 more hours of delay. Even the Flight crew was in disbelief on this one. I think we should all get reimbursed and triple miles for this snafu. Not weather or mechanical - just poorly managed time -- BY A MAJOR AIRLINE - INEXCUSABLE!"

Cons: "Only one plane really gave me a bad experience. The plane was pretty old and cramped and the crew was very rude. Maybe they were having a bad day or didn't want to be in the old plane either, but their performance was bad. One of the attendants, I think his name was Juju, asked me is a soft voice if I would like a drink. With the engines roaring in the background I thought he asked have you been served a drink? I responded "No, I have not." And he started off serving everyone else. I had to call him and asked if he was skipping me and he replied "I asked you if you wanted a drink and you said No!" I explained the engines were loud and I mistaken his words and with an attitude he served me a drink. For the whole 9hr flight I avoided him at all cost and just responded to the other attendants. The other attendants seemed annoyed and would roll their eyes or make a face when people would try to pass them on the aisle, but I in their defense, they were moving a large cart in a small aisle. Passengers should have waited until the aisle was clear before moving. That was my only issue. The next flight was better with no problems."
Pros: "I paid for extra leg room and I got it. The only thing I was in the row right behind first class they require you to put all of your carry-on above even a purse. I had never had that before but I guess that's common practice."

Having problems connecting with my MacBook Pro. Found later that Safari is no supported and had to use the Firefox or google apps. Could have had that in the available brochures, I did not see it. Also lots of empty seats where UA was trying to sell but would not let the 'lower' class passengers move into them even though we were pilots going into a exit row. Once the door closes they are not going to sell anymore of those seats so why not do 'upgrades' for passengers to the 'bit' more expensive class. I get the first class barrier but when in a cattle car. . . . . . . .
Everything was on time and staff was great

Cons: "Purchased economy plus bundle. United employee closed gate in my face at ORD. United Club toilets were filthy and the worst of my problems was the ridiculous selection of teas. (Toilets outside of United Club much cleaner.) I had an economy plus seat, but this did not allow me to board early. So I boarded late and there was no seat in front of me. So I could not put my carry on in front of me. I asked if I could put my bag in top, but attendant told me that I had to ask the first class person in front of me for a favor and thank them for the favor. I did. But this was one of the more disgusting experiences that I have had on an airplane and I paid an extra 100 USD for the privilege of it."

The main issue was that when I purchased my ticket throughout Kayak YOU NEVER SPECIFIED THAT I SHOULD CHECK MY BAGS 45 MINUTES EARLY OR I WOULD LOOSE MY FLIGHT. YOUR LACK OF CLEAR INSTRUCTION SCREWED UP MY TRIP"

The big other surprise was when we got to Des Moines and realized all the bags were opened!...my wife's jewelry was stolen!!!! UNITED AIRLINES SUCK!!!!!"

Cons: "Where to start.... they "delayed" my flight for 11 hrs from 5:55pm to 0700am due to "weather" so no hotel or food vouchers would be issued. THEY ALSO SAID "don't bother going stand by for the other two flights leaving this evening as they will be overbooked or "cancelled" as well. When I walked to customer service they stated it was NOT cancelled but rather "rescheduled due to operational issues" then they put me on stand by for the next flight leaving in a couple hours. I boarded that flight only to be pulled out of my seat the last second before the gate closed saying there was an error and there were two "Fishers" and I was in one of thier seats. After closing the door and departing the gate the agent said "whoops" I guess it was a small child that was to be on the parents lap. "Sorry" as the plane left with an empty seat that I had been sitting in. After a long conversations with the supervisor they finally were able to book me on the last flight out that night arriving in DM at 12:15 in am. I had to dig my original boarding pass out of the garbage as they had refused to put me in first class... an upgrade I had paid for. After being lied to repeatedly about status of plane and bumped from flight due to incompetent gate agent I was able to finally procure a $10 food voucher (a beer is $11 at the airport. There are additional bungles including lost luggage and more to this saga but I think you get the picture."

Cons: "Backward seat in the middle - 4 across- very strange to fly backward AND in the middle with a business class ticket. Crew wasn't the most friendly. More like the way coach used to be treated in the 80's. You got your food but there weren't any extras."
Cons: "I was upgraded to first class. This was the first time this has happened to me, and I was excited. I had a great experience there and am grateful for it! The trip was quick, with low turbulence and no air pockets. I felt good. Thanks."

Cons: "We arrived from Tampa about 8:00am to discover shortly later that flight 558 would be delayed to 9:30am. Then at 9:30 it was announced the plane is to be delayed to 10:30. Shortly after that announcement it was announced a gate change and further delay to 11:30. Then another delay to 12:20. finally departed."
Pros: "I liked that the crew were very helpful, they assisted me to my seat and showed me where to put my bags, It was my first time flying in such a big plane."
Cons: "I didnt like the lack of leg room, I am a fairly tall person at 6 feet 4 inches tall. I didnt think there would have been a difference between economy and economy plus, but economy has barely any leg room and the seats in front of you still recline their seats while you struggle to get seated comfortable. A gate change happened because the computers were down so we had to walk to a different gate to get our tickets scanned then walk back to our original gate to board."

Pros: "I have metal leg braces. The staff was helpful getting me from terminal to terminal. They were very helpful."
Cons: "Having a leg brace makes difficult I am blessed I can move a little without them. I had to move a short distance without my brace. No place to put it back on."
Pros: "The fact that you serve a small complimentary drink and snack on such a short flight was extremely appreciated. It seems most airlines either won't serve on a short flight or charge you extra. Also, I absolutely love the new seats on the planes you guys have been using for quite a while now. They're much more sleek/minimalist so they don't take up as much room. As a disabled person, the bulky seats still employed by many planes on other airlines are incredibly hard on me getting in and out of the seat isles. The crew was very efficient and kind. I also appreciate the thank you to military personnel that they announced at the end of the flight."
Cons: "My gate was moved a few minutes prior to scheduled boarding. It was a minor inconvenience. Flight was a bit late getting out, but still arrived at designated time. Complimentary Wifi would be pretty nice, but not expected."

Cons: "Seat in back of plane from Houston to Tampa horrible seats would not incline foot space barely big enough for legs <9 inches. Those seats should never be assigned I feel like I wasted $ by the horrible seating!"
Pros: "Ive had a hip injury so walking is problematic. I was worried about my 45 minute transfer time in Ohare. The boarding attendant at Charleston ordered a wheelchair to meet me. I got to my plane as it boarded. A distance I couldn't have walked, much less in the time allotted."
Cons: "Not enough time between the two flights for the distance between the two terminals."
Pros: "I flew from OKC to Houston and then home to DSM. The price was terrific for a one way flight. I bought at 2:30 am for $130. I checked later the next morning and the price was $455! United Airlines is a great airline. There was a wonderful agent who helped me at the kiosk for check-in. Very friendly. The flight attendant on this flight was very personable."
