Worse, we booked with kayak, but actually the delta/ Aeromexico flight was booked with vayama. When one flight changed departure time, we no longer had our great pre-selected seats & couldn’t check in online. We had to work it out with delta & then aero Mexico t. After 30 min on the phone we got the last 3 bavk row seats near the toilets & cackling, aging flight attendants. No reclining or real food made for a lousy 3 1/2 hr lunch flight. No apologies, smiles of sympathy. Just snacks tossed our way"

Cons: "Staff were a bit rude. The boarding process was slow as everyone rushed up when they announced the first zone to board, and obviously this was not policed. We didn't get our seats until we got to the gate because apparently we bought our tickets too soon to take off, which was three weeks. Also, staff claimed there wasn't enough bin space so asked people to check their bags. We saw people with two big bags get on board at the start, and then staff made everyone at the back of the line check their bags. But there was plenty of bin space before take off. And we were seated in the last row which can't recline."

Cons: "The seats are extremely restrictive and in a aisle seat I had the gentleman sitting next to me with thighs touching and attendants brushing by me as I squished to left to avoid contact with him. Entertainment screen between center seat and window seat so I just didn't even try to look at it and mostly just leaned forward to have a little space. Also another inch or 2 was taken by person in front of me putting their seat back. With such restrictive space why is this even possible??? Flying has become ridiculous and I try not to as much as I can."

Cons: "They boarded the plane, only to tell us they had to de-ice, which is understandable. However, after waiting 20 min for the de-icing that never came, they made us get back off the plane because of mechanical issues. The captain/pilot was rude to the woman working the desk over the radio, to the point where she had to leave the desk and go speak to him in person (she knew we could hear everything.) That conversation is also how the whole line of people was informed that then knew about this mechanical issue since the night before, and chose not to fix it before boarding all of us. After getting to Philadelphia later than expected, we were forced to pay for hotel food that was horrible and overpriced. Only to then have our plane be delayed AGAIN because of mechanical issues, again the pilot not giving much information to the attendant she was faced by a room of 40 angry people and had no answers. The departure time slowly crawled out longer, and the only reason I knew was because of having the American app. Information/communication on all ends was poor. I usually fly Allegiant, which is notoriously “cheap,” and I’ve never had an experience like this. Happy my boyfriend has flown with American before and knew to give us an extra day so we didn’t miss the wedding we paid $800 in airline tickets to attend. Just disappointed."

Rather than assisting me, she barked commands and quickly walked away as I attempted to address the situation. - poor attitude - failed to ask if I wanted a biscuit but simply slapped one down on my tray table (I HAVE CELIAC DISEASE) - American really needs to catch up with the other airlines and offer a GF option to those of us who have immune disorders. - no WiFi"

Group 6 which I was in seemed like it was just the rest of the plane. Super busy, took me forever to get to my seat all the way in the back. Why don't airlines reverse board? People sitting in the back should board first. I feel like this would save so much time."

Because our connecting flight left milwaukee over an hour late, we had no time to even grab a sandwich, no problem we will buy food on the plane. Wrong! The food is was gone so quickly that by the time they got to us, they were out of everything. Oh did I mention we also had 3 children ages 2, 7, and 9. Oh yes and the entertainment? Small screens mounted on the ceiling of the plane. How about updating your equipment?? Plane was old. No USB to charge your phone and stream from their App. Terrible. We own a 2nd home in Maui and travel there twice per year. Looking at other options."

Cons: "I don't usually do reviews, but this experience has prompted me too. I usually pick American over other airlines even if the price is slightly higher but after this last fiasco I doubt I will fly with them again. From the start of the trip there was a delay. I was told that I would have to stay in a hotel in Charlotte because I would miss my connecting flight. I agreed and waited for my flight that was nearly 2 hours late. I arrived in Charlotte and retrieved my bag as instructed and went to the counter. The lady then stated that it was probably best if I tried to get on the last remaining flight even though it showed sold out because "there have been delays all day and plenty of people have been missing their connecting flights". So I rechecked my bag and headed to the game. This flight was delayed, as it was the last for the night, so that all the connecting flights could be made. Okay, that is fair enough....even though I didn't get to board and now I no longer had my bag as this is now on the plane. 30 minutes after the plane left I finally get my voucher for motel along with a $12 voucher for food that can only be used in the terminal restaurants......which are now closed for the night. After 30 minutes of trying to contact the hotel for shuttle information I was advised that they were no longer taking airline vouchers. I , again, approached the ticket counter and I was advised that I "would just have to wait because there are no rooms in the system at this time." And none of this instruction seemed professional or accommodating. After another hour I was approached that now there are no other options in their system for accommodations and I would have to pursue options on my own. So......the higher priced one way ticket just became $100 more at no fault of my own."

I’m 6’1” and 190 pounds so am not what I’d consider oversized but I’ve not been this uncomfortable on a flight in many years. Will make a note to avoid this line and plane in the future"

Cons: "Because of a 2+ hour delay in Milwaukee we missed our connecting flight in Denver to Medford and had to stay overnight. Sitting in isle 1 was uncomfortable and it was a pain not having immediate access to my purse because I had to stow it for take off and landing."

We talked to 7 different United representatives at 3 airports and none of them were any help to us. We were offered hotel accommodations in Miami to find out the hotel they booked us does not accept United vouchers leaving us to pay for it ourselves. Another expense added to the trip unexpected. Every phone call to United leads to 4+ hours of wait time followed by "go online and figure it out". I still need a refund for both flights and these bogus hotel vouchers ."

Cons: "The fact that I was told by two of your employees that I spend too much money when I signed up online to reserve the seats and put how many carry ons me and my son had. I did not know that I didn't have to check online that we were bringing a carry ons. That doing that was a charge. Your computer system was down when I tried to call and I couldn't clarify any of the questions I wanted to ask. I also paid for seats and they told me I would have been assigned a seat next to my son without paying when I got there another thing I couldn't ask a person."

Cons: "We booked a flight to Vegas for our 14 year anniversary. When I searched for flights, Spirit Airlines came up. We hadn't ever flown with them prior to this trip and the price was decent, so we booked it. There was no warning about all the fees that would come along with the decent price! When we boarded the plane we were told we had to pay $65.00 per bag! (Not to check our bags, but to actually carry our own bags onto the plane!) It cost us $130.00 to get home with 2 small bags. If we had known this from the time of booking, we would not have chosen to carry on our luggage but checked them instead. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Not to mention the lady at the gate was incredibly rude."

All in all very boorish experience that convinced me to drive next week instead of flying."

Cons: "Spirit has a 40 lb limit on checked bags, instead of the usual 50 lb limit. I had to carry loose dive gear on the plane in my arms, which did not save them any weight on the plane, just a huge inconvenience to me. Also baggage in expensive for both checked and carry on , $50/$55 each. Also the check in process was quite slow at Fort Lauderdale. I had my seat assignment and baggage receipt , and it still took the agents about five minutes per person , multipled by everyone on board."
