Pros: I experienced the same type of service that I received on the flight from Bangkok to Seoul. I could not have expected more. I find the crew professional.

Pros: Seoul to NYC JFK 1/24/20 trip. This female Korean member was rushing passengers. Which was totally unnecessary. It is necessary to give client some time to get situated. Airline serve all kinds of age group of client. I was watching the way she was serving food, again in a rushed manner? Does she like her job? This is unprofessional. The rest of the crew members were courteous except her. Bad representation of this company.

Cons: Flight was delayed by 10 hours less with less than 24 hours notice. Had to call Asiana to change flight to a 1 stop flight (original flight was nonstop). Flight to Seoul from New York was also delayed by 8 hours and I ended up having to spend ~$70 for hotel/taxi due to arriving in Seoul past midnight. Horrible experience both there and back and don't think I would ever take Asiana again.

Pros: I love how they give importance to parents traveling with little kids.
Cons: They ran out of food choices. I have been flying with Asiana for the longest time and this has happened thrice.

Pros: The crew were efficient, nice and friendly. There was a sick passenger and I think they were able to help them out. Even though there was a slight delay in the take off but we managed to stay on time.
Cons: The bathroom was slightly flooded, one bathroom the water wasn't running so I couldn't wash my hands. There are not enough amenities in the bathroom. The food could use a little improvement. Waiting for the baggage claim took too long.

Pros: This airline and this model of aircraft (Airbus 380) makes a 14 hr transpacific flight almost enjoyable! We've flown this route numerous time and this was by far the most comfortable experience

Pros: The price: my round trip ticket from Tokyo Haneda to JFK was only 850USD The layover is only 2 hours which is bearable and enough time to find the boarding gate and a little shopping.
Cons: Everything else. You can check-in online within 48 hrs before your flight, but there is no QR code produced on their app for paperless check-in. The food was terrible, and the seats were not made for long flights. I really felt the "economy" vibe. They only provide disposable slippers, but everything else you need to check the lavatories if there were toothbrushes or mouthwash packets left. Overall, I will still consider flying this airline for any emergency flight back to the US, but if there will be a compeittive airline, maybe i'd try another. Their business class seem enticing.. maybe comsoder it too.

Pros: Both of my roung trip got delayed for about an hour. The service was very so so compared to Korean Air. I couldn't get tickets through Korean Air because of no ticket available but next time I will definitely look forward Korean Air only.

Pros: I liked the airbus used to fly from and to the USA. On a 15 hour flight comfort is key, and they did their best. The have build little foot pedals to rest your feet on. Meals also came often, and the food was on the better end of airplane food. Crew was also very friendly!

Pros: Everyone was so personable. We had 4 adults , 2 boys and a baby girl so it was hard to get everyone situated but with the staff on the plane it was just simplicity. All of our needs were met , wether it was someone wanting an extra blanket or the baby needing food or even helping the 2 boys get situated before and after take off . They apparently love babies because they couldn't get enough of ours and were always wanting to play with her and make her smile (which goes along way) and that helped her not feel so groggy on the plane . They know it's a long flight so they get you comfortable even down to giving you slippers and great tasting food.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the long flight but that's not the staffs fault, it was inevitable if your flying halfway across the world . the plane had 12 inch touch screen tv with music, movies, games , news , kids entertainment and even how to learn Korean so it it was very helpful in keeping you entertained throughout the plane ride .

Pros: The crew was lovely and very helpful. They were attentive and constantly providing beverages. The films were nice and a large selection. The food was delicious and it was overall a lovely flight which was nice since it was over 13 hours in length.
Cons: It would have been nice for slightly more space but it is definitely not the most cramped economy class I have sat in. Additionally, it would have been nice to have different movies from my flight to Seoul but there is so much too choose from that this is not a real issue either.

Pros: On my long-haul flight from Seoul to JFK - the middle seat in my row was empty, the seats were much more spacious than Cathay Pacific, and I appreciated how there wasn't a 10 minute promotional video before watching every movie/TV show as with other airlines. I am very satisfied with this airline overall!

Sorry to grade for " Boarding, Mediocore" Nevertheless, the girl made us too confused. our departure to HK thru Seoul, she gave us boarding pass only to Seoul and my husband uses a cane due to leg pain. ( he can not bend his leg properly). I asked her to give a front seat. She simply ignored my request. At least, she should better say yes or no! However, other staffs helped us!

Cons: 13 hour from Seoul to NYC and the crew never once went into and took care of any of the four bathrooms in the lower cabin in economy class. On the flight two weeks before from JFK - they did a great job on the bathrooms.On both flights there was no need for the constant interruptions telling us to put the seat belts on. Just turn on the light no need to make an announcements in two languages.

Cons: Loud children all over, my dietary choices for all three meals were messed up ever though I spoke to three different levels of Asiana employees to verify (due to the mistake on the flight to Korea). When I tried to explain to the flight attendant my dietary needs they couldn't be bothered and got an attitude when I asked for the meal that was being served. The flight crew was unfriendly. The bathrooms were crowded and chaotic after meals with no attempt on the flight crew to organize or redistribute the crowds (unsafe situation could occur). I waited 15 minutes at one point because there was simply no order. Some flight attendants were better than others but overall, they played favorites with certain groups.

Cons: My connecting flights were terrible. I was kept at the airport on a layover to another city and they wouldn't let me board because they said my passport number was entered wrong on the reservation. This made no sense as I had gotten off another flight on my way back home. No one at the airport in Shanghai was helpful and it was really frustrating to think that I would be stuck in China. I was finally able to track down a international supervisor who was able to print out my boarding passes and let me board my flight. Unfortunately, another family with small kids were dealing with the same issue as me only their flight was leaving in 30 mins. I hope they were able to make their flight.

Cons: The seats provide very little space which is especially bad during such a long flight, the food options are really bad and limiting for those who don't eat red meat or don't eat meat at all, this is the only flight i've ever been on where i was asked to take out my headphones during take off and 30mins-1hr before landing, the aircraft itself is incredibly dated and left in disarray often.

Cons: Food was not so good. Chinese lady was sitting in the isle and no one in the middle, me at the window. She was so rude and didn’t care that I was sleeping. She was trying to lay down on both seats and kept waking me up with her best naked feet! 5 times I asked her to sit normally, nothing worked, she djs t understand, I guess this is normal in China. Rude and nasty! She was picking her nose then taking my bred from flight attendant to pass to me to be nice but why with your hands that just been up your nose!!!! And when she kept waking me up using both sets no one seemed to care!

Cons: After I missed my connecting flight because of delays in Bangkok, they wouldn't provide me with any food coupons while I wait 8 hours for my next flight. They offered a meal that they cooked in-house, but the wait to receive one was absurdly long and seemed rather dicey. This was confusing as they had provided me with a food coupon in Bangkok for the initial delay, so their customer service policy is rather confusing and comes down to how they feel in the moment. They really should have been more accommodating.

Pros: Nice cabin crew. Seats not as cramped and uncomfortable as US carriers. Bathrooms at larger so easier to maneuver especially for old and handicapped. Food average. Ample snacks and drink available in the kitchen for self serve during the long 14 hour flight.

Pros: Flight crew was amazing; very attentive, constantly ensuring that I had everything I needed. Plane was very clean and there was no smoking on this flight, unlike the flight over to China.
Cons: Ground crew needs work, the agent at check-in did not give us our boarding passes for the PVG-JFK flight and told me I could get it in Shanghai. Took almost 30 minutes just to get the boarding pass to wait another 30 minutes to go through passport control and another 20 minutes to go through security, we narrowly made our connection. In New York it took an hour and 15 minutes to get our bags... flew business class, our bags should have been towards the first half of the bags off the plane, our limo driver almost left because he had waited so long for us.

Cons: China eastern is the absolute worst airline I've ever flown. They constantly chnage your flight. Which causes people to miss connecting flights. There was a whole group of us that were hauled off to a hotel for the night which had the worst heat everrrr. It was freezing! We slept in several layers of clothes. It was their fault we missed our connections. Our flight coming home got delayed again. Crew is rude and rarely even smile. Their ability to help you or explain things is poor. The plane is beautiful and actually comfortable though and they do feed you. The food was not bad.

Cons: Almost could not board my flight back home from Korea as China Eastern changed the departure time of my connection in Beijing by 20 min. After dealing with customer service for over an hour they let me board the flight I already paid for! Middle isle, middle seat at the back of the plane for 14 hours. 1st meal had a very fishy smell so many on the plane didn’t eat it. Someone was smoking in the bathroom too which added a nice smell to the cabin. 2nd meal was a bit better. My seat was pretty tight. (I am 6’2” 230 lbs) Every time I take China Eastern I think to myself never again, but every now and again I have no option. Customer service is almost non-existent if anything goes wrong. They are the only airline that I have issues with almost every booking.

Cons: Contacting China eastern airlines customer service was very painful. Accent differences being the major contributor for the cause. China eastern website was giving errors out most of the times while we tried to make seat reservations. Ultimately, the seats we reserved online were not given to us for both of our return flights. Special meals ordered was also not provided to us, stating that we were supposed to reconfirm the meals selection once again during check-in time, which I something we have never done in the past with any of the airlines; I did that for my last flight and bingo - I got the special meals for that flight alone. Anyone asking for special meal - please note this point; it doesn't harm to reconfirm though it sounds like an unnecessary step. Shanghai airport has very limited options for vegetarians. Kimchi noodles, Kimchi cake and Bibimbap were the only good options if you are a vegan. Landing was not good: As the flight had to wait for the runway allocation due to early arrival, flight was going in circles near the airport area, climbing up and down; vomiting sensation!!

I also didn't like that it took us 2 hours to get off the plane after we arrived at JFK. I don't think it was the airline's fault though, there was another plane parked at our gate!

Pros: CE has B777 to/from JFK which are up to date and comfortable. The biz class is similar to all others, lie flat and more than enough entertainment. The flight attendants are fantastic, always willing to do what ever they can.
Cons: Often you must deplane/board from the tarmac on connecting flights in PVG. Of course only an issue during in climate weather or if you have difficulty with steps. They are building another terminal so hopefully in a year or so all flights can board form the terminal.

Cons: It is my first time to take China Eastern Airline. My son and I had a round trip from New York to Zhengzhou (Connected at Shanghai). I had no problem for outbound trip from New York to Zhengzhou. But for inbound trip from Zhengzhou to New York, we missed the flight due to China Eastern Airline's very bad customer service. At the airport check in, we were told passport ID number did not match the Eastern Airline flight tickets passport ID number. The check in clerk let us to make changes at Eastern Airline counter. The guy from EA just changed my passport id but did not want to change my 7 years old son's ticket id. He was sitting there and did not care about anything. I told him we were going to miss the flight, he gave me a phone number 95530 to let me call EA in Shanghai. I called and EA in Shanghai said I should change at EA counter of the airport. Man, it's a nightmare. The guy updated my ID number on my ticket, but refuse to update my 7 year old son's ID number. So we had to reschedule to next day flight thru the China Eastern Airline USA. They charged $100! We finally got back to New York. They don't care we miss the flights and their customer Service Is VERY BAD

Cons: I paid $ for assigned seats, and when I got to the airport, China Eastern told me they couldn't honor the seat assignment. My seat had been given away. Please don't offer assigned seats for $ if you can't honor the transaction.

Cons: We waited nearly two full hours for our bags to be delivered. And no explanation given--at least not that I heard. An agent was sent out after 90 minutes or so, but she gave no explanation, only that the bags were "coming." (She did apologize profusely.) I understand that things happen, but this was a black eye for the airline. Everything else was great.

Pros: Flight was extremely reasonably priced and the planes were new. The flights were on time and I felt like the take off and landings went quite smoothly.
Cons: The boarding process was a free for all - complete with pushing and shoving to get to the ticket checker. The food was abysmal and I got sick from it on the way to and from my destination - I would not recommend that ANYONE eat the food. The attendants were rude and did not have a grasp of English - lots of reaching over, using hand gestures instead of words. People were definitely smoking on the flight - at least three of the four flights I took and I'm not sure how the attendants didn't stop the smokers. These were also flights where there was a lot of uncovered coughing, hacking and uncovered sneezes in addition to unrelenting farting. Neighboring passengers did not practice personal space and constantly leaned over on myself and my friend.

Pros: China Eastern came in several hundred dollars less than the competition for our roundtrip international flights from NYC to Bangkok via Shanghai. Because of this, we were naturally a bit worried. China Eastern did not disappoint. Their check in process and boarding process is a bit lengthy; however, we boarded seamlessly and were able to be as comfortable as possible during our 15 hour flights. 3 meals were served in this time period, and a pillow and blanket and earphones were provided. There was never a long line for the toilets, and there was an ample selection of movies on the entertainment front. Overall, would use China Eastern again for our international travels to Asia.

Pros: For the price of the flight I believe this was an excellent airline to choose. I your on a budget this is great. Cant really complain~ 14-15 hr flight and food was good (you get 2 meals) and the crew was pretty nice. All of the seats have entertainment with many new movie releases to choose from as well as a variety of music and video games.

Cons: I am a very frequent flyer. This is by far THE WORST company with THE WORST customer service. I'll skip the details of the flight itself. We are getting ready to sue this company in the United States for their outrageous behavior on our way back from Phuket. We bought 3 round trip tickets from New York to Phuket and back with an overlay in Shanghai. On our way back, at 2am, when all offices are closed, the China Eastern team refused to put us on our plane. They notified us that our tickets were canceled without a prior warning (no refund, by the way). They couldn't help us by, let's day, selling us the same tickets again, and they did not offer any other accommodations. The manager refused to share his supervisor's information and concealed his identity by turning over his badge. They only told us to call the hotline number on the reservation. The number did not work. As we didn't have anywhere to go at 2 am, we stood by the registration counter and kept asking how the company was going to help us get back home since we paid a lot of money and did not receive any prior notice or at least a refund. The manager called six security guards and ordered them to get us away from the counter. Because of the China Eastern despicable customer service, we ended up overpaying $3600 for 3 people, missing an important business meeting, and losing wages as a result of a missed day of work.

Pros: They changed my connecting flight for free! I had originally booked a long layover in Shanghai, and a few days beforehand changed my mind and wanted an earlier connection. They were very accommodating in changing my flight. Was actually shocked at how simple the process was. In addition, all the staff on the flight, a grueling 15-hour trip from Pudong to JFK, were polite and helpful the entire way.

Pros: Overall a very good flight for a very reasonable price
Cons: In two connecting flights I received meal 3 times, I ordered vegetarian meal, and all 3 times it was exactly the same. I am sure it has nothing to do with an airline but upon landing at JFK we were waiting inside the plane near the gate for 1 hour and 40 minutes before we were allowed to disembark. I am sure it was the airport's fault.

Pros: I bought this business class ticket because it was ~$300 cheaper and had a long layover in Shanghai allowing me to visit friends. Boarding process could have been more orderly, but normal chaos for an Asian flight. Seat itself was fine though certainly not the level of comfort you'd find in other airlines that I wouldn't consider to be luxury airlines. Think Delta vs. Emirates. On this spectrum, China Eastern keeps company with Southwest or Spirit except I don't think these airlines have upper cabins. The food was inedible; attendants did not come through with snacks in between and I basically subsisted on a beer diet and what snacks I Had in my carry-on from previous flights. All the movies had the English scrubbed which meant I could watch only if I wanted to watch a silent movie and read English subtitles as if it were the 20s. Cabin and crew were perfectly nice and I don't fault them for the airline's inadequacies.

Pros: Did not like much. The crew was not the friendlyess. There was a crying baby and a loud women sitting directly behind our seats. The crew did not seem to know how to handle the lady or the crying of the baby. The annoying sound made for an the most uncomfortable flight ever. The crew did nothing accommendate us for the noise. A better seat up front, headphones or something should have been offered with out request! Even an apology for the out of control environment! Me and my mate will never take China eastern ever again! And will advise others to do the same. There were plenty of seats available to be moved too... The food was the only decent thing on the plan. The bathrooms where a mess and again the crew was horrible except maybe one, but that doesn't make up for the other 5 or so members who where suppose to be helping out.

Pros: Flights were on time, quiet, and we were fed sufficiently. We purchased tickets separately, so requested to sit together when we checked in at the airport. They accommodated us to sit together for the first flight, but did not try for the second flight, which is mildly annoying. Leg space was great int he exit rows and pretty average in non-exit rows.
Cons: The airline lost my travel partner's luggage. Despite a 5 hour layover, her bag did not make it to our final destination with us. While I understand this happens, what was really frustrating was the airline's, and lost luggage department's ability to provide any information about where her bag was and when it would arrive. They were unresponsive for 3 days. They did not follow up, though we tried calling, no one answered nor returned our messages. We finally got information after returning to the airport in person, and they bag was delivered within 24 hours of that in-person follow up.

Pros: The plane left on time, arrived on time, the staff was friendly enough, the food was good - it was nothing extraordinary but it did the job
Cons: China Eastern Airlines is not made for tall people. I'm 6'2" and I was very cramped.

Pros: Air china has the worst service I have ever ran across and I have been traveling for years! The changed my flight a week before my flight out and rescheduled it to miss my connection flight with them. I spent multiple hours on the phone on hold waiting to talk to an agent and they did not pick up. I emailed them.... no response. Finally I went to the airport and the told me the best they could do was get me to my destination 3 days later or I could buy another ticket. Then they lost my bags on the way back. I doubt I will ever get my money back from them despite the fact I spent an additional $200 to get to where I was flying... avoid them if you can and if another air line is a few extra bucks more it my be cheaper in the long run

Pros: The lounge in Shanghai was second rate--bad wifi, mediocre food. The business class seat was very comfortable and it had a lot of shelves and places to put things.
Cons: The Chinese food and the Western food on our flight were both not very good. The cabin crew did not pay much attention to the needs of the passengers. They never asked about beverages. When I got up and went to the galley to ask for a cup of coffee after dinner they took my order but never brought the coffee.

Cons: Delayed an hour to board the flight, then delayed and sat on plane for hour and half before takeoff.

Pros: The attendance and crew are nice - they serve you food and drinks(rarely), they are really good at not bothering you.
Cons: 16 hour flight and they only serve you 2 meals? Actually it's ok becaus the food is uneatble anyway, gross meat, and the Chinese 'salad' is suspicious. Both meals came with butter, however there are no bread/rolls for ya - they're just there to troll you.

Cons: The ticketing staff in Shanghai were very unhelpful in providing any courteous upgrade or voucher for our delayed flight and poor hotel accommodations. They also failed to inform the plane staff of my vegetarian request. The plane staff tried to accommodate by offering their own meals to me, or side dishes from the meat meals.

Cons: Poor entertainment options. A 14-hour flight with limited movie choices and inability to use some electronics is not fun.

Pros: Some of the crew were nice
Cons: There was a smell of someone smoking 3 times during the flight. Several times, I would ask for something (for example salt), a crew member would say...I'll bring it right over...and then disappear, not even coming over to say whether they have it or not. The flight was uncomfortable, mainly due to the toddler sitting next to me who was extremely loud and kicking everyone's seats around her. When asked to move, the flight attendant did look if there were seats available but said everyone's free seats next to them had been occupied because people were asleep, stretched out on them. When asked if there were maybe seats in the business class, the attendant wouldn't even hear of it, claiming that that is not area and thus she won't even check. Lastly, the food on China Eastern airlines always leaves me feeling a bit off. Freshness is just not their forte. But what can I say, their flights ARE cheap, so you get what you pay for. All in all, a mediocre experience, at best.
