We did not get the room we booked. We booked a room with a king bed, got a queen size. The place was all booked so no chance of changing room.
The blinds needed to be repaired
Historic old building , up dated, Rooms excellent, food the same, staff went beyond. Reminded me of a few places I stayed in England.
The only positive thing that I can offer is that the bed was very comfortable. Greatly shortened due to site restrictions - Overall lack of customer service; Reservations / Check-in; Pool; Dining. All sub-par.
Wonderful upscale hotel, love the fireplace and cannon in the foyer. Favorite place to stay in Gettysburg.
I was there for a three day conference. The food was fabulous. The room was very clean. And the staff were all so friendly.
Restaurant food was impressive. Service was welcoming and prompt throughout.
We had a great stay, kids loved the pool!
Pretty nice hotel but the bathroom could be cleaner (there was toothpaste on the faucet and hair in the shower).
Free Laundry , the restaurant food was pretty good To far from where I was working
Staff was extremely helpful, courteous and met our every need. We arrived very late, and had called to make sure cribs were in two of the rooms, and they were in the rooms and ready for us to put the little ones to sleep. we requested a refrigerator, and it was brought up within minutes of our request. Breakfast may have been a little over priced.
The federal style deor. It was wonderful Nothing
Gave a military discount. Allows pets. Very clean. Inside pool. Breakfast was great but a little on the expensive side. We asked for a room with a small fridge and they didn't have one.
Room was great. Comfortable bed and wonderful shower!
Stayed in many of the hotels in Gettysburg, this is definitely one of the best hotels ive stayed in. It is clean, modern the rooms are nice and the bed is comfortable.
Everything clean, Friendly at the front desk, great parking, great location!!! it was perfect!!!! Continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, but it would not hinder me going back!!! There is a "Perkins" right next door!!!!
I really liked that it was close to downtown Gettysburg without having to pay downtown prices. I do wish that the hotel had a a fitness center (even a small one) and a pool. Otherwise, no complaints.
Room was large, clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Overall good value for the price. I could hear people in the hallways. Doors don't block out sounds well.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very happy with our stay. The hotel was conveniently located near the historic center of the town and we were able to get to see all of the things that we wanted to see during our stay.
Although clean, it looked as though my 8 year old grand daughter replaced the tile around the bath tub. The front desk staff (sales manager) was extremely helpful with suggestions and directions. I would stay there again.
Clean, convenient, comfortable, nice staff both desk and housekeeping, quiet, decent value, met expectations except- Disappointing continental. Toaster waffles and bread and prepackaged muffins (that were quite good really) and cereals. Only red delicious apples fruit. We did not comment to mgmt so shame on us.
Beds were comfortable. Would have liked a king sized bed, had two queens.
Room was clean, staff was great! Wasn't impressed by the continental breakfast. Not many choices.
Clean room, friendly staff, great location
Clean modern rooms
The location is good. It's not downtown or walking distance from anything but not far out of town either. Just a short 3-5 minute drive to downtown. The breakfast wasn't anything special; waffles, cereal, and muffins. For the money, location, and amenities I was satisfied with this hotel. The only complaint I have would be the bed. I never got a good nights sleep due to the firmness of the mattress.
Staff was outstanding. The breakfast was mediocre at best.
Not much The hotel smelled. We were in a dark annex. I would never recommend this hotel. There are much lovelier places in the area.
The location was good, as was the price. The room was comfortable enough for what we needed. The traffic noise was somewhat distracting. The person who checked us in was not helpful and had very poor eye contact. The breakfast that was provided was terrible.
Overall the stay was nice. Great location in downtown area within walking distance of restaurants and shops, room was clean, and the continental breakfast was a nice value. Fitness center was hard to find, and ended up being about the size of a walk-in closet. There wasn't adequate space for working out other than using the one treadmill there.
we love the location. easy to get around to shop, etc. the price is excellent. my husband and i are both smokers and i think the roms should be sprayed between people.
The location is great, able to walk about anywhere we wanted to go.
The location was great. Over all I would stay there again. There was nothing I did not like.
Central Location, ample parking and friendly staff
Nice accomodations. Close to downtown and park. Went to eat breakfast and no hostest available. Went across street for breakfast.
The breakfast was much better than we expected. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly.
I loved the location for how quickly you can get to anything at the circle along with the Staff being very generous and sincere. I felt welcomed and enjoyed the comfortable king bed and fireplace my room had. This hotel is perfect for young couples that will be enjoying the night life in Gettysburg. As my subject says, this is not for children. There are a handful of bars nearby including one in the hotel and two directly across the street from the hotel which causes a lot of noise at 2am when they let out. The windows are old and thus don't block any noise so I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep from 1:30am until about 3am as the crowds left the bar outside and those inside stumbled in to their rooms. (Walls are thin so you hear a lot if someone is talking with a raised voice)
The Gettysburg hotel had nice accommodations for the price and we will stay there again! we enjoyed the attached restaurant also!
Clean. Centrally located in town. Five hallways to get to the room. Very noisy street front room, many trailers driving thru in the AM.
In a historic spot in a historic town. It is very close to other landmarks and a must-see for any history buff. I wish they had a continental breakfast available and having to pay an outside company for parking seemed ridiculous.
Great location, shopping and service. Clean rooms and lobby. Nice onsite meals. We got a Junior Suite and for the price it had a roof view.
The hotel was right at the center of town. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room large and clean. The prices were a little high.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities. The rooms were not quite as nice as common areas.
Location was great, it is walking distance to just about all of Gettysburg's sites and attractions. Wait staff was very nice. Hotel bar is lively fun. Avoid paying for the parking garage through the hotel. They charge $12/day for unlimited use of the garage, plus there is a 2.50 service charge. If you pay in the garage it is $10/24 hours. Bathrooms are kind of dated.
beware that if you book through kayak via hotels.com you are unable to change your room. i booked a suite and was not happy with the layout (two tiny rooms) and asked to switch rooms. the hotel was only half full this particular weekend so they had plenty of rooms available. the front desk curtly informed me that since i booked through hotels.com i could not change rooms. i even offered to move to another room that would be a downgrade and the women at the front desk did not want to accomodate me. i finally had to say that i would forfit the premium that i paid for the suite. however, they were not very nice about it.
The room was clean and comfortable, we were there in the middle of winter and there was an ice storm during our stay and still everything worked, heater was hot, water was hot, the staff was very pleasant and informative, the breakfast was good and had a nice variety of items, I left an item behind and when I called and left a message, my call was returned with 30 minutes and arrangements made to have my item mailed, we would definitely go back and stay there again.
Loved the breakfast house! Adorable, old, clever, delish. Bed felt like it was a little lopsided...like used more on left side than right. But all else wonderful!
Location, price Small pillow, tight parking spot
Cookies and breakfast. The beds did not have headboards so you end up bumping your head against the wall - not very comfortable to sit up in bed. There was only one mirror and it was in the bathroom. We were a group of four, my husband, myself and two teenage daughters. It was very difficult to get ready in the morning with just the one mirror.
Great customer service, breakfast attendant was awesome, good breakfast, clean comfortable room, and nice to have a place to work out and swim.
There were free cookies, coffee, and hot cocoa at the reception. There was a decent size hot tub next to the pool. The indoor pool temperature was comfortable, even though it was November. Hot breakfast was served by attentive and helpful staff. The hotel was literally a stones throw from the outlet mall and TGI Fridays. It made for an overall great family staycation to Gettysburg. The room we stayed in needed a little bit of updating. It was showing a little wear and tear. It seemed like the hotel was addressing the issue though. There was a sign at the front desk apologizing for the renovations.
We had a king suite and it was perfect since we were traveling with our twin toddlers and newborn. We were able to put our two travel cribs on the living room part and keep our newborn with us in the bedroom. We all slept great and the room was big enough to let our kids play. Breakfast in the morning was also perfect, really great selection. The location was ideal since it had a TGI Frdays across the street and the outlet mall. We could walk to both. On the other side was 7-11 and we could walk there in 2 minutes for snacks. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Gettysburg.
I liked the value, sure we weren't walking distance to Washington DC however their shuttle to the airport, breakfast bar, hot showers, good ac's, very comfortable beds and pillows. It all was perfect for what we were looking for. The night clerk also helped lead us to local sports bars, restaurants and other things close to do. Tucked away behind the Best Western which is also a good place to stay out, siblings own both. Bar for adult bevs closed at 10 pm :-) probably a good thing.
The location was great! The pool was tiny. My children woke up with some kind of rash on their faces. This has never happened in any other hotel.
I loved it! Very clean rooms and very courteous staff.
Rooms were very clean, beds very comfortable I booked a room with a queen bed and a sofa, got 2 queen beds and no sofa. The towel rack in the bathroom was in the shower itself. Water pressure wasn't the greatest, it would cut out for a second or two I'd the neighboring room used the sink or flushed the toilet. Pool was small, not recommended for kids who want to swim. Getting into the hotel was a chore, the sign for it is way past the entrance.
Wall Thermostat controls temperature, not the usual high low on the heater/ac unit. The room was clean. The hotel grill had a great waitress and a delicious salad on the menu. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. One side of the mattress was sunken down.
the comfort & cleanliness of the room was excellent. we were close to the town & the breakfast was terrific.
Breakast delicious! Room extremely clean! Staff, warm and friendly! 241.78 paid on ctedit card reasonable, taxes included! No!
My friends and I were really happy with our room. The hotel was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and breakfast was better than we saw at some other hotels. The only downfall was that it was not equipped with a refrigerator. We were on the 4th floor and the ice machine was not working so we had to go to the first floor to get ice and the machine a couple of times was out of ice. We are planning to stay at the Hampton again next year and we inquired about a refrigerator and since we can request one we will!!
We came to the hotel without a reservation after refusing to stay in a different hotel. We were accomodated with our room request. We left something at the hotel after checkout and the staff was helpful in getting it back to us. Good breakfast.
Good for families. Spacious bathroom, large pool open until 11, great breakfast, really close to decent restaurants and the national park. Only drawback is pool doesn't open until 10 am---hard when the kids are up early and want to swim before breakfast.
Staff very helpful in recommending restaurants. Hotel very conveniently located to all attractions.
The Hampton Inn stay was very pleasant. The carpeting was new, the beds were the best I have ever seen and it was very clean. There were several busses of sports teams there and it was almost impossible to get to the breakfast area and there we no tables available and people waiting for them. Other than that the stay was very pleasant.
Was intially charged $88 over confirmed price. Pool over chlorinated. Employees children let to swim unsupervised. Carpets were filthy, bathroom sink clogged. Adjoining room door wouldn't stay open. The absolute worst was that we found 4 small spots of dried blood on our sheets. UNACCEPTABLE!!
The last night of out two week trip was spent in the best possible Hotel. The staff was friendly and recommended the best resturant (Dobbin House). The rooms were the cleanest from our complete trip. The only problem was there was not a printer for the computer in the lobby. Thank you for a great evening.
Hotel was in a very convenient location for all things Gettysburg and easy access to main highway for other destinations. Staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was good with the usual offerings - they weren't caught up with shutting it down eactly at 10 allowing you to flex your schedule. Our room was comfortable and spacious, cleaning service was excellent. It was very quiet, with the single exception of the first night when the county was paving the main road directly outside the hotel. We had a great stay and recommend this hotel.
Hotel was undergoing renovations. Plenty of free parking. Distance and time to the battlefield about 2.5 miles and 10 minutes. Breakfast was very good. Staff very helpful with suggestions for where to have dinner.
Room was clean Hotel staff kept knocking on door starting at7am
I appreciate being able to stay in a hotel without animals.
Kids loved the pool! Room was comfortable and had enough space for 4 of us. Pretty far outside of the main town, but close to the freeway.
Very impressed with the facility, room, staff and the breakfast offering variety plus value. As tourist, we would have appreciated the staff having some knowledge of current activities in the area.
Clean, comfortable, nice rooms
This hotel was very clean compared to some other hotels we've stayed in. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly. It's also in a good location.
Very nice facility, Clean, friendly staff, and a pretty good breakfast. Nothing really.
This property is a bit off the beaten path in G'burg, but it is worth a try and a great value for the money. The place is fairly new, though the staff is veteran and very accommodating. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Breakfast is good. Some of the rooms need a bit of a refresher - nothing major, but the wear and tear are starting to show in some of the finish.
We were at the hotel for a soccer tournament. Which means a number of kids. The hotel has a courtyard and an indoor pool. As stated by the manager because we were so loud they changed the time of the pool closing to 9 instead of 11. As I understand that the hotel has to keep a number of people satisfied, I don't think it sent a good message to our children. The rules were changed in the middle of the game. Inmy opinion the rooms (which were blocked) should have been blocked (keeping all of us together and not scattered throughout the hotel). I believe it could have been handked differently and 9:00 was unreasonable
The breakfast was very spread out. The items should be closer to each other.
The staff was very pleasant. The room was clean. The children were excited about the pool and computer access. There were many restaurants close to the hotel, and easy travel to the downtown area.
I was pleasantly surprised to find the same bedding and pillows I see in more expensive hotels (such as Marriott). The beds were extremely comfortable with multiple small pillows and the heating and cooling were digital and kept the room comfortable all night. The room was spacious. I do wish they had turned the heat on prior to my arrival but the room did heat up quickly.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Gettysburg. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We stayed for 5 nights and never had any problems with noise or being awakened by other guests. We had new towels each day when we returned.
I stay here once or twice a year when visiting family in Gettysburg. It has my 'three Cs' of a good hotel stay - cheap, clean, and comfortable. It's not a five-star experience, but if you want a nice place to stay that's near downtown and doesn't cost a lot, the Super 8 works wonderfully.
This hotel was great for the price. If you are traveling on a budget, I highly recommend this Super 8. It was located in the same area as two other hotels which had higher prices. (A Days Inn and a Comfort Inn if I remember correctly). It was within easy driving distance to downtown Gettysburg (less than 5 minutes). There was a continental breakfast that was adequate and there is a Perkins in the same parking compound (though it was very busy in the morning) There is also quick access to a Dairy Queen and a McDonalds if you didn't want to sit at a restaurant in Gettysburg. There was a pool if you are looking to bring the kids. The only minor drawback was that there wasn't a gym, but walking around the Gettysburg battlefield and cemetary was more than enough exercise. The staff was excellent and very helpful in giving advice on exploring Gettysburg.
The hotel has the feeling of a Marriott but not the price of a Marriott. Parking was close to the room. Room was clean and equipped with refrigerator, microwave, and hair dryer. Beds were comfortable with cozy sheets and blankets. Bathroom had fan & sink seperate from the shower/toilet area. Nice for having two people getting ready at same time. We met three staff members and found all of them to be friendly. Demetris was very enjoyable to talk with during breakfast. Breakfast included waffles, cereal, bagels, danish, coffee, tea, and juices. No reason to go away hungry.
Clean, nice hot breakfast, great king bed, massage show, very good room heater. Pool closed for renovations. 5 mins to battle field. Lots of fast food very close. Quiet, behind the Days Inn. Small Super 8 sign by the road.
great hotel great location 5 min to gettysburg sites and town. the staff was great and extremely helpful and accommodating to my family. the hotel and rooms were great and clean as well as the pool area. will stay here again
The sign in front of the Super 8 in Gettysburg not very big or super. Drove right by it. Room 220 heater set smoke alarm off in hotel. Had to leave heater at low setting or off. When running was noisy. Breakfast setting was good. Limitless food and coffee. Parking was good once the hotel was found. Staff was polite and spoke english. Room clean, bathroom setup was convenient and worked well.
The room was large, comfortable, and very quiet (even with families on both sides of us). The staff was courteous and professional. The hotel is a few miles out of town, which may be a negative for some but was very much a positive for us; we like being away from the hustle and bustle. This isn't so much a dislike as a heads-up: this facility has definitely seen better days. The decor appears unchanged from the seventies, and there are signs of wear and tear. However, it was clean and comfortable, and the wifi worked. Someone looking for the best or most up-to-date facilities would be disappointed, but for us staying here felt like slipping on a favorite old pair of shoes. We have family in Gettysburg and visit a few times a year, and this was the first time we stayed at the Eisenhower. It will be our go-to hotel in the future.
Room was really dirty. Carpets were not clean at all. When we arrived there they didnt even have my.registration in the.compiter so ended up trying to charge us a price exremely high wven though.my.credit.card was already charged. The pool they have on the premises is filthy and not maintained at all.
Double king beds were nice...Even though I only needed one. Very roomy Kinda old and weird in general. No lids at the coffee station Everything is just a little too old but not in a classic way
Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean. Signs of water damage in room and throughout our section of the hotel.Carpets were dirty and very musty smelling. No remote for the tv.Maintainence brought one on request.Lights and TV were dated.
Clean Roma, spacious Two facilities but one resort
location and the large campus; very comfortable bed. The hotel needed simple updates and fresh paint. Furniture in the room was very old especially the couch. Some of the lamps didn't work. We had to go to a different lobby to check in. Quest were allow to smoke and drink beer just outside the lobby where you would unload the car.
size of room
easy commute to national park. confusing how to check in.
Convenient to get to and from where we were going. Cheapest rooms in town. The hotel was built in the 60's or 70's and hasn't been updated since. The bed was creaky and old and not very comfortable. Our room opened up to the pool by a sliding door that was difficult to shut. When we arrived, the room smelled like mildew. We opened the sliding door to air it out and it took the both of us 5 full minutes to close the door again. You also get a tube tv and a wall mounted hairdryer that was incredibly weak.
Comfortable but very dated decor.
Front desk people were nice and tried very hard to accomodate. While it was clear when we made the reservation that this hotel was somewhat dated, that was the least of our problems. Although WiFi in the rooms was advertised, we had no reception in our room. The staff then tried to convince us that this was because we had Apple products and "they don't pick up signals so well". They then offered us another room, which was "right across the hall from the modem", however, when I tested it, there was no WiFi signal in that room either. In addition, the bathroom floor was sticky (that shoes making a noise sound when you lift your feet sticky). Also, you should ask if they are having a dog convention there, because every other room in the hotel had a large dog barking in it. Finally, because we arrived late, when we tried to get a refund to move, the night manager had gone nome, so we ended up having to stay one night before we could flee to another hotel.
Needs better soap.
Everything about The Brickhouse B & B was awesome!!!
The rooms were clean, neat and well decorated. The staff was exceptional and the food was delicious. Our first time to stay at a B&B and we were not disappointed.
