Some drawers for clothing would be nice and would eliminate having to ‘ live out of a suitcase’. For a 5 star hotel in a state capital, it was disappointing that the Mayflower Restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday nights. Also disappointing that the Hennessy Rooftop bar was closed on the Monday Public Holiday. It is things like that that give people the impression that Adelaide is a ‘hick’ town. This said, the overall stay was pleasant and I would consider using The Mayfair again. Staff were great.

Cons: It is my fault for not checking, but for the price, we would have expected a better larger room and a pool. Rooftop bar was good, but always a lot of people there, so no real priority for hotel guests. They said mini bar was complimentary. But it only had one beer and one cider and some chocolates. for price, would have been good to have 2 beers.

Apparently the 'complimentary strawberries and champagne and should not have been offered to us compliment;y. The free Internet was disappointing. We ever only able to connect for short time (only one phone at a time 0 we had r bit due to though our data (resulting in additional costs). A few days prior to checking in, my boyfriend contacted the hotel to let them it was an important weekend four is) (our anniversary. She told Macus (my boyfriend) that she would arrange for complimentary strawberries and a bottle of sparkling on arrive. We did arrive in our room to a beautifully presented plate of strawberries. When we enquired about the wine, we were told it would be sent up to us prompyly (which it was eventually.

Cons: The TV remote seemed flat, Foxtel didn’t work and navigating through the list of pay-for movies was incredibly annoying as the buttons/TV communication (send/receiving of button commands) was about as poor as it could be. Pros: We came for our 40th wedding anniversary and when we arrived in our room we were pleasantly surprised with a handwritten card from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary along with a little gift. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We dined in the restaurant one of the evenings and the food was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

Cons: Tissues in the bathroom were damp almost like water getting into the box and the contents trying to dry out. Room service club sandwich was appalling. Bread toasted was thick and dry. Fries tasted a day old. Breakfast Buffet - Again, staff were inviting but the hot breakfast was lukewarm to say the least. I've stayed at many Intercon Hotels over the years with my career travelling all over the world. This was to be a special night for my wife, which ended up very disappointing.

Lots of bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. And an easy stroll through the Mall to the East End with more restaurants. My bed was very comfortable and my room quiet but it was towards the back of the building and perhaps the rooms facing Hindley Street could be noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. No microwave, but a full size fridge, toaster and jug.

Cons: Upon arrival the woman on the desk didn’t seem to want to be at work, a smile goes along way. She didn’t explain anything to us, we had to find it all to ourselves. The room could use with a big update the carpets are disgusting, and couldn’t watch the tv as it was fuzzy. We went out for dinner and placed the do not disturb sign up but came home to a bottle of wine which is lovely but we asked for privacy so would have been nice if the hotel staff respected this. We tried to cool the room but had no luck as the aircon wouldn’t go any lower and was still stuffy. The spa was freezing and definitely not relaxing.

Once we checked in, we left the hotel for an hour or more and Our bags were just left by the front door, even though the receptionist said she would have then brought up to our room. We have been going to peppers for a long time even when it was the Rendezvous and we feel for a 5 star hotel same of the staff aren't that helpful.

Cons: The shower taps were difficult to turn off and dripped for a long time. The design of the bathroom with the bedroom meant that you could not go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without waking your partner up, due to the large window between the bathroom and bedroom. The spa was out of order. There were no bath robes. I love some of these small touches when staying in a hotel and I was slightly disappointed not to find them here.

Pros: Ample spacious parking everytime we checked in and when coming back from seeing around. Close to exhibition halls, museums, universities, shopping centres and parks. Was dead silent from inside room. Dinner delivered within minutes of ordering. Breakfast was just right. Staff was attending to every genuine need. Had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Cons: The hotel location is generally good however the nearby presence of sex shops, massage parlours and homeless make it a little seedy. The room was clean and but small, with very limited storage place, no desk to work, and no openable windows so no natural ventilation at all. We had come from a longer trip and did have more luggage than for a business trip.

The carparking on the internet was specified as $12 per day yet we were charged $18 but there was no advice on the internet of the difference in charging for valet parking. No attempt was made by the staff to rectif that situation so for the difference of $6 and the non-help in this situation we will not consider staying here again nor recommend this to friends and work colleagues.

The room itself was spacious with good lighting and curtains. The room was quite from the hotel side but nearby building works in the evening were a bit loud through the closed window. ( Not the hotel's fault except maybe double glazing would be helpful). Parking was easy enough with a deal with the public carpark directly behind allowing 24 hour use. The only thing was it was not clear that we could park in any normal spot and ignore the 3 hour limit signs.

Cons: Franklin St is quite noisy. The apartment was pretty dated. My bedroom had no window to the outside, so felt like a cupboard. The main bedroom was larger but had a window to the hotel corridor (I found this quite strange), which allowed the noise and the light from the corridor into the room (despite the blockout blind).

Fridge was unsafe and would fall forward when opening it. Dishes in cupboards were dirty. Bathroom smelt like urine. Food was underneath couches and cupboards which my 10 month old baby found as she was crawling around. The sofa bed still had sheets and blankets on it from the people who stayed before us. It was also stated on the booking receipt that the room had a balcony..... Not sure if your building has ANY balconies at all. Having only 1 elevator was also pretty poor considering the place had all rooms booked. I have stayed at other hotels and apartments that cost a lot less and were much better in quality and customer care and service and most definitely cleanliness. Other places I've stayed at go out of their way to look after their guests to entice them to return and also so they recommend them to friends and family. I would never return or recommend this hotel to others.

Pros: Close to the Adelaide conference center, in fact just across the road. Breakfast and staff were the best feature of this hotel.
Cons: Rooms only windows had frosting over it and would only open a few inches. No air conditioning! Room was stuffy and very warm. We paid an extra $80 per night to get a room with an opening window and that room was very noisy on the main road side, The bed sloped towards the street, which made sleeping difficult. Again no air conditioning, but instead the room had a three speed fan setting to rotate the centrally (Reception) controlled heat and cooling, again the room was very warm and stuffy at all times, the thing that really capped off my stay with this IBIS hotel was on the first night while watching TV I had the largest cockroach I have ever seen walk over my legs, I presented this in a plastic container next morning to the hotel reception staff who dispatched a staff member with a can to spray the perimeter of the room with insect deterrent. Had I known this was a IBIS hotel I would not have booked it. I won't be staying here again!

Cons: Shower over bath has a glass panel that was fixed so had to climb in to set temperature of water on bath taps then pull on diversion knob for the shower to flow. Dangerous for elderly also you are in the shower flow Also no grab rails for stepping in or out of shower just a flimsy glass panel that flexed with minimal weight on it. Doors need to be soft close as Friday night the doors up until midnight on our floor were banging more than oven doors in a cooking competition.
